A criminal investigator at the Montoursville state police barracks has been assigned the case, and Kiessling said he also is getting assistance from a forensic anthropologist in Erie.
"We still have a lot of interviews to do. We have to get him identified and then try to find out how he died," Kiessling said.
Due to the sensitivity of the investigation, Kiessling declined to discuss the remains in detail or say what condition they were in when they were discovered. He said investigators are trying to determine if the remains are those of a man who was reported missing two years ago.
About 45 miles from Lewisburg, I think.

Less than 30 miles, as the crow flied. It's possible, but it looks like they think it's too new.

It's just under 35 miles by car, less than a 40 minute drive.

It's a bit under 7.5 miles northeast of Williamsport.
It is still close enough to Lewisburg not to be considered, though they've thought it might be more recent than 2005. It's a lot more likely than those that are 4-5 hour drives (and that end up being paleo-Indians, or 35 year old Black women).
I doubt that they are RFG's remains, but I wouldn't completely dismiss it either.

Thanks JJ!! That's pretty close. I agree I don't believe its RG's remains. I must admit Im curious who it is and how long deceased. The guy from Scranton, some of his remains are still missing. He disappeared right before RG and I can't recall his name at the moment. I know it was reported he was seen in state college. I think his first name was Jimmy but not certain.

They think it was someone who disappeared two years ago.
I don't think it's RFG, but it's close enough to Lewisburg that I'll reserve judgment.

CB I don't know if it was the same body but the other day there was a mention of a body being found near Wilkes Barre and they gave a name for him. Sorry I didn't get the link but was doing something else.
Odd that we are missing women and a man here in Central PA and in Pittsburgh area they have 3 women's bodies but no names and are burying them. Just goes to show the killers will put the bodies in the oddest places. Wonder where RG is? Wonder if any of the women are the missing ones from Centre County?

CB wasn't this the case we were talking about months ago where the family was killed in a row house fire, because her husband was an informant? He was later killed too?

CB, I found the article I was reading but it wasn't this man. This artical says this man was found on Friday and he had been missing since April.
