O/T - I need some positive dog thoughts. Very early this morning we had to bring our dog Polly (named after Polly Pocket when my daughter was in kindergarten) to the emergency vet. She is there for a day or 2.

She stole a couple of packs of sugarfree gum from my daughter's backpack and ate them, foil and all. There is a substance in sugarfree gum that is toxic for dogs. So she is on IVs and her blood sugar and liver levels are being monitored. Like many of you, I love my furry baby.

I realize that Jose' can mount whatever he wants till the time he does so, I suppose, hehe, but how the heck would he NOW (or later) use a mental defense case at this point with all that he has blabbed about his girl's mental competence? I understand potential jurors may not know what we know but COME ON! I do not see Cindy ending the PR tour because it is her way of telling Casey :tonguewag: , Cindy still runs things and there is not one darn thing Casey can do about it from behind bars.

Cindy and Casey have been involved in this one-upmanship competition probably since Casey entered her teen years. You would think a daughter's lst baby would put an end to their games, but unfortunately Caylee was just another game piece to the two of them.

I am sure there were a lot of conversations that went along the lines of Cindy telling Casey she could not do this or that with Caylee and Casey responding with watch me, she is my child.

Your right...they probably will have to stick to the original story...if they change it again it would only be worse for Casey...I believe they will try and say "how can the state prove that Zanny doesn't exist"? And although the defense doesn't have to prove that Zany does exist, it wont be too hard for the prosecution to convincethe jury that she doesn't.....

Other than that there is really NO defense in this case.....I know that the defense has to disclose their defense before trial....Does anyone know how long before the trial?

We never had a message or a warning but the board got way off topic several times yesterday afternoon. We need to keep the discussion on Caylee. I can't believe the A's are not going on national TV in search of the real killer! They just keep saying they leave all of that up to the PI's and LE. They think their job is just to keep appearing to keep Caylee's memory alive. What about her life? I don't see where anyone worked hard at keeping her alive when they all admitted there were red flags!!

Yes....Infact, I went thru the time line of everything from the beginning up until Aug 4th...

First it sickened me to see how Casey dragged poor Caylee around so much....From May 29th til June 10th (12 days)...That poor child slept away frm home 5 nights (running around with Casey)....As a grandparent that has 2 grandchildren living with her, I can tell you this...that would have never happened in my home....I am a firm believer that children should have the security of going to sleep and waking up in their own beds....(unless certain circumstances prevent this from happening) but certainly not on a regular bases..like Caylee..

Then on June 16th George claimes that Casey and Caylee were LEAVING the house at 12:30pm, yet a call was placed from home to Casey's cell at 7:45am that same morning....George never mentioned that Casey had come home with Caylee and then went back out....

It seems obvious that Caylee was murdered on the 16th of June...On the 24th of June George makes a police report that his gas cans were stolen....then later claims that he couldn't remember the exact day that Casey had come by but that it seems it was the 24th.....well how can he forget the day that he reported the cans missing and the same day when she brought the cans back....

IIRC the DP does change things. I keep hearing about a trial "next year" sometime. Isn't that what George said on LKL? I'm reading his interview now with Yuri and John Allen. July 24th! He went down to the station without Cindy knowing it and spilled his guts! I'm sure the same thing happened in the Grand Jury. How can he ever go back on any of that. Will he just say "Cindy reminded me that........."

I believe that he can ask for an extension because the trial date was set before the state put the DP back on the table....But I have a feeling (at least I hope I have a feeling) that it will go as scheduled....The defense seems to be trying to get everything in order real fast......(to lose :wink:)

he said he went to work after his cooking show IIRC around 1 or so..would have to go back and look for the exact time..I remember a bunch of calls from KC to his cell and CA on one day was it that day? and was he working at a car lot seen some to some dealership been awhile since I looked at them but always wondered who she would be calling at a Lexus dealership IIRC did not know if he did security there or what....

What I don't understand, though, is that in addition to Casey talking about Zanny the Nanny, Cindy also talked about Zanny the Nanny to her co-workers--and I think someone said, maybe for a couple of years.

Then, on one of the 911 calls, George was overheard in the background saying, "Zanny? Who's Zanny?"

So why would only Casey and Cindy know about Zanny the Nanny, and talk about her? Could this get back to Cindy having taught Casey how to "medicate" Caylee to go to sleep?

Hi all - I was surprised the civil case was not brought up by Larry King. I wonder if Morgan sent Larry his "Oprah package" of info.

O/T - I need some positive dog thoughts. Very early this morning we had to bring our dog Polly (named after Polly Pocket when my daughter was in kindergarten) to the emergency vet. She is there for a day or 2.

She stole a couple of packs of sugarfree gum from my daughter's backpack and ate them, foil and all. There is a substance in sugarfree gum that is toxic for dogs. So she is on IVs and her blood sugar and liver levels are being monitored. Like many of you, I love my furry baby.

I don't think Casey was dragging Caylee around a whole lot until after the 9th of June. There is some bearing on that date. It seems to be when Casey left with Caylee to go on vacation and "bond". But Casey didn't go on any vacation, she started "flop housing" as Pru described last night. Prior to that it might have just been a night or two.

Wow, I didn't know that. Toxic levels in sugar free gum. I have two dogs here, and they occasionally will find gum.That's good to know. I hope your dog gets better quick, taking her to the vet right away was the best thing you could do.

Apparently, using benadryl, nyquil, similar kinds of products by parents to induce their children to sleep is not that uncommon. Cindy, being a nurse, would have access to medications and knowledge of how to use them. She may have used them on her own children, when they were small, and then taught Casey how to make Caylee sleepy on demand, as it were.

I can't see her using chloroform, no, and I'm not sure when that came into the picture if used as a sleep aid. It's an unlikely one, and no, I definitely don't see Cindy using it or teaching Casey about it.

Cindy may have taught her about using xanax, though, in carefully measured amounts.

If Casey ran out of money for xanax, maybe she wanted something cheaper. Or maybe she bought it for premeditated murder. But you see, that breaks down, too--because there are lots of ways to murder a small child that don't involve ordering or buying chloroform. :confused:

ETA: There are those who still believe that the McCanns sedated their children to sleep, while they were partying on vacation with friends. Both McCanns are doctors.

We had a Bichon who ate Valentines candy!!! Chocolate is a no no to dogs too. They gave her charcoal to eat and that counteracts the chocolate I understand. After a week, or two weeks, or after Casey was drug home by Cindy from TonE's? ESPECIALLY then--because @ that time, Cindy sure as heck was not treating Casey as an adult who could conduct her life and her daughter's as she seemed fit.

And ESPECIALLY as the public has seen how controlling Cindy is--if she had those numbers, she would have used them regardless of Casey's adult status and Casey having custody and "control" of Caylee. Cindy has shown to be in need of being in control of every aspect of this case, it is beyond my comprehension that the ONE thing she would NOT try to be in control of is--where her granddaughter was when Casey took her from their home.

If I ever had my doubts about whether or not there really was a nanny (no matter the name) in the pic---Cindy saying she had the ability to contact the nanny but didn't shows me there is NO DOUBT there never was a nanny named Zany or anythiing else.

Just KNOWING what happens...in detail...to a dead body....I found it VERY difficult to not have a meltdown myself.....thinking about the dead body being a TOTALLY INNOCENT CHILD...It made me have HORRIFIC thoughts about my own children....

That's very true, I'm familiar with that software. Or.... they could have a scheduled disk cleanup at 1400 on Monday's. Or, if they have an HP printer or computer, HP could be accessing the web site. That is, if they left the computer on ALL THE TIME. But if they started it up and shut it down like most people do (i don't), then someone was on the computer at 1400. I don't think Casey would pay the monthly for GOTOMYPC, she didn't have a credit card as I know of. If George left early for work for his 3pm shift, and Casey was in the area all afternoon, according to cell phone pings, then she could have watched him leave from a vantage point, and then headed back to the home with Caylee, who's still alive at this point in my theory. She's then on the computer at 1400, which would explain the activity. She put's Caylee in the pool with her waterwings on, goes in on the computer to goof off. Shes goes outside to check on Caylee, and she's dead, floating in the pool. Killed by a neglectful mother. That's possibly why the cadavers hit by the pool area. That would explain the steps ladder thing being in a different position from what the Anthony's remember it from the day before. Casey hides the body in the backyard. Mom won't find it. Dad doesn't get home until 11pm. I'll get it tomorrow, or the next day. I'll rent a movie about a dead decomposing body in the trunk of the car, so I can learn about that. I'll see TonE and we'll have sex tonight. Everything will be cool.

I'm going to say she was found floating around 4pm by Casey. Explains the attempts to contact her mother 4 times in two minutes.

I tried googling the client's name and account name with no luck. The report does show George worked the 1500-2300 hours shift. Without knowing the location of the account in realtionship to their home address, I have no idea how early he would leave to be at work by 3. Sorry.

I have a few things going on here today and I missed responding to you earlier about Leanoman's (sp), plea of mental disease or condition. Did he actually set anything particular forth in that, such as a psychosis or any evidence of prior disease or was it just a general, "We may wish to use mental defect in the future" type of request?

I can't believe the A's are not going on national TV in search of the real killer! They just keep saying they leave all of that up to the PI's and LE. Maybe not....but if she was leeching her computer service off george and Cindy, it would be paid for....I also believe that with time, filtering, and general flushing....no urine, fecal matter mucus, or blood by products of a drowning would be present...contrary to the TV shows, after time with pool chemicals and constant filtering and flushing of a pool....it would be gone by the time they got to this to examine it.

I do believe that within the time that she couldn't contact ehr parents and the time that she hid the body ...and the time that the dogs were set upon the death scene....evidence naturally disentigrated....The dogs hit...but it just easn't enough.

the dog hits....as long as it was soon after death...minimal excretions from her body would have been left at the temporary resting place.....The dogs would hit....but the evidence would be minimal.....Lab would possibly pick up chemical signatures....which they did...

I agree and thought in the beginning that would have been her absolute best bet. I know that it would be handily shown, however, that it is precisely at her age when the behaviors she was exhibiting REALLY start becoming prominent in sociopathies (and because it was FAR too long for her to have had any kind of new onset postpartum related psychosis at that time) . I thought it was her best bet because these kinds of (personality) disorders can be so difficult for many lay-people to understand for a while, that they could have at least muddied the waters substantially with all the psycho-babble and *certain* differing expert opinions, IMO.

Question: Since it has been speculated the reason a notice of appearance for the DP attorney has not been filed is because JB does not have a DP qualified attorney on board (yet). If JB is dragging his feet on the DP attorney, can he use that as a reason to get an extension on the trial date? TIA

It would seem he could. And, then, of course, there would have to be an extension to get the new attorney up to speed--and with all the info, that could take MONTHS.

I'm wondering if he thinks that, if the trial is delayed enough--he will have met one of the qualifications of being a DP attorney--practicing for 5 years. But, since he seemingly is concentrating soley on this case, he will not be able to meet the other qualification--having been an attorney on however many dp cases it is required to have been on. IIRC, in the information on the number of cases he has been on--he was an intern, not an attorney on some of them, so they don't count. Maybe not....but if she was leeching her computer service off george and Cindy, it would be paid for....I also believe that with time, filtering, and general flushing....no urine, fecal matter mucus, or blood by products of a drowning would be present...contrary to the TV shows, after time with pool chemicals and constant filtering and flushing of a pool....it would be gone by the time they got to this to examine it.

I agree and thought in the beginning that would have been her absolute best bet. I know that it would be handily shown, however, that it is precisely at her age when the behaviors she was exhibiting REALLY start becoming prominent in sociopathies (and because it was FAR too long for her to have had any kind of new onset postpartum related psychosis at that time) . Yes....Infact, I went thru the time line of everything from the beginning up until Aug 4th...

First it sickened me to see how Casey dragged poor Caylee around so much....From May 29th til June 10th (12 days)...That poor child slept away frm home 5 nights (running around with Casey)....As a grandparent that has 2 grandchildren living with her, I can tell you this...that would have never happened in my home....I am a firm believer that children should have the security of going to sleep and waking up in their own beds....(unless certain circumstances prevent this from happening) but certainly not on a regular bases..like Caylee..

Then on June 16th George claimes that Casey and Caylee were LEAVING the house at 12:30pm, yet a call was placed from home to Casey's cell at 7:45am that same morning....George never mentioned that Casey had come home with Caylee and then went back out....

It seems obvious that Caylee was murdered on the 16th of June...On the 24th of June George makes a police report that his gas cans were stolen....then later claims that he couldn't remember the exact day that Casey had come by but that it seems it was the 24th.....well how can he forget the day that he reported the cans missing and the same day when she brought the cans back....

Usually people appear on tv to keep the focus on a search for a missing child. They are on tv to keep her memory alive? Keep her memory alive? What the heck does that mean? In case Cindy Anthony doesn't realize it, Caylee's memory is alive to people all over the world, she doesn't need to appear on various and sundry programs to spew lies for people to remember Caylee.

Instead of saying, oh, we're leaving finding the real killer up to LE and PI's, they should be saying--HER KILLER IS STILL OUT THERE!!! I think it's because we can only look at other people through the lens of who we are until we somehow learn differently. One example, is I can't say I NEVER have lied, but it was very rare and bothers me to this day. So, I just kind of of naturally project my feelings onto everyone else and I STILL, at my age and experiences, can get as fooled by many people as a 3 year old when it comes to that. It just rarely crosses my mind that someone is lying because I don't understand the desire to lie, willy nilly, myself. It is VERY difficult for most of us to IMAGINE that someone has no feelings for someone else because we don't have that personal thought pattern. It's like trying to explain the color "blue" to someone who has never had sight, IMO. I have to consciously work at analyzing someone else's personality and someone's TRUE personality can be very well hidden, if they wish.

Way back when, when my exhubby was on the fire department, I belonged to the auxilary. I don't know about any other fire departments, but the small one that my hubby worked for NEVER hesitated to help and neither did the auxilary. We were NOT a "social" club... I may not be in that auxiliary anymore, but I've never stopped trying to help people.

I cannot be the only person who has noticed that Melissa Huckaby, who has been accused of equally heinous crimes against poor little Sandra Cantu and whose prior criminal record is even worse than Casey's, has pretty much been dropped from the national media's reporting. Huckaby's parents said in essence, "We are shocked. We don't know what to think. We hope it isn't true." and then shut up instead of appearing on talk shows. Huckaby's attorney filed for a gag order - which was granted - instead of taking his own turn on the talk shows. Six months from now, we may hear about a quietly-negotiated plea bargain to something like involuntary manslaughter or even merely aggravated child abuse because the DA is probably not getting thousands of letters demanding that Huckaby face the death penalty.

Loving your child no matter what they do, does not require you to behave badly yourself. There is a difference between feelings and actions.

Things would certainly be a lot different with this case if the Anthonys, all of the Anthonys had kept their faces and their lies out of the media. This case might have gone completely quiet the way the Cantu case has or even the Cesar Laurean case has. But then, we are comparing apples to oranges. This case is in Florida with the Sunshine laws... The Cantu case is in California where we won't hear much of anything at all until the actual pretrial hearings start up where they start arguing about what evidence will come in. The Laurean case will start hitting the news a little bit now that the gag order has been disolved but it certainly won't be anything like this case, no Sunshine law there either.

Cindy, George, Casey and Casey's defense can blame themselves for making this as much of a circus as it is... They can't blame anyone else. They were the ones who sought out the media and then made such fools of themselves in front of the cameras.

I was just reading (this am? Yesterday?) information about the FindCayleeFund where the law firm and the bank both backed out of association w/the fund. Or, maybe it was a "foundation" in Caylee's name. Now, the lawyer quoted said he knew for a fact, because he tracked monies out that there was $500 or so spend for tshirts and buttons, etc. Nothing else, and he will swear the A's did not get any for personal expense. It seemed that neither the lawyer nor the bank would discuss how much was received, but the lawyer said there was $2500 left. Add to that the $500 spent, and that fund in particular only had about $3000 in donations. Seems like it didn't take much time for folks to realize this probably wasn't a worthy foundation to contribute to.

If Caylee had died from an accidental death and Casey was afraid to report it, IMO, a loving mother would have buried her baby in some type of respectable manor. I think a jury is going to have a very difficult time accepting that as an accidental death....or I know I do.

It would seem he could. And, then, of course, there would have to be an extension to get the new attorney up to speed--and with all the info, that could take MONTHS.

I'm wondering if he thinks that, if the trial is delayed enough--he will have met one of the qualifications of being a DP attorney--practicing for 5 years. But, since he seemingly is concentrating soley on this case, he will not be able to meet the other qualification--having been an attorney on however many dp cases it is required to have been on. IIRC, in the information on the number of cases he has been on--he was an intern, not an attorney on some of them, so they don't count. If he didn't meet the number of trials requirement BEFORE the Anthony case hit his table, he won't @ any time soon. I'm pretty sure, if he was involved in any other cases, the media would be reporting that. They would be reporting on his lawyering style for each of these cases, comparing them to how he is handling Casey's defense.

I wish that Lapis could enlighten us with one of her knowledgeable posts.

I'm a Catholic raised never miss church on Sunday person and try to help whenever I can but sometimes you have to realize that you are not helping a person by enabling them. I have learned the hard way. Enabling someone like Casey just teaches them that they can do whatever they want with no consequences. The only defense that comes close is one posited by Lenamon on the JVM show the other night (before Wendy Murphy started screaming at him - lol!).

He insinuated that he would use the fact that people have mentioned how Casey changed after she had Caylee. He would use that as a springboard for a type of mental defense. (paraphrased)

Mr Lenamon needs to get with the real world. Frankly, I don't know of any mom or dad who does not "change" after the birth of especially their first child. You just do---your whole life is changed once that baby is there, in real life.

IMO, from what I have read and heard, the BIG change in Casey came, not after the birth of Caylee, but after Caylee "went missing." Okay, after Caylee was DEAD on or about June 16, 2009.

I have a few things going on here today and I missed responding to you earlier about Leanoman's (sp), plea of mental disease or condition. Did he actually set anything particular forth in that, such as a psychosis or any evidence of prior disease or was it just a general, "We may wish to use mental defect in the future" type of request?

IIRC, he was trying to insinuate that Casey was suffering from post-partum depression. He really should have done his homework to look into PPD--like, it's unlikely this would crop up when the baby is almost 3 years old. And, if it was something that occured near the time of the birth, it would not have lasted for almost 3 years.

And that DEPRESSION (regardless of the cause) usually is manifested by having trouble getting up, showering, getting dressed, having to make great effort to carry on with activities, going to work, etc etc etc. Not to say that someone with depression could never go out and have a good time, but most usually, would not be able to carry on to the extent that Casey did.

I don't think a depressed person could spend the amount of time Casey did in texting and being on the phone. A depressed person (unless s/he is on medication) just would not have the energy for all the activities Casey was involved in. And, if indeed Casey was "depressed" I'm betting Cindy would have brought that up front and center. There would be something in the media about Casey needing to have her depression medications whilst she is incarcerated. So, I don't think depression is in the picture, especially not PPD.
