Never would consider this being a possibility. The prosecutors had a strong case before Caylee's remains were found. Not enough for the death penalty as no body. Once the body was found and in the condition it was, bagged, duck taped, heart sticker, location, Casey's whereabouts as well as her unaccounted whereabouts and monumentous lies. That's murder and an intentional act in the first degree.
This isn't about Baez. It's about murder.
i'm not arguing that it's not about murder - never have said that. i'm just wondering if the prosecution wants him off the case and thus refiled the dp for two reasons - one is to get him off the case and another to avoid the potential that she can claim she didn't have adequate representation and win a new trial on appeal. i, for one, do not feel that he really has any intention of defending casey because he really believes she is innocent - i am thinking more along the lines of future book deal or something like that.

sydney, Kinda makes you wonder if the ID or Driver license that the sheriff lady grabbed when Cindy was going through the bag that Lee brought back from TL that the name on it might be ZFG. That means OC was ZFG. jmo
yeah. her description of zfg was close to how casey would describe herself, don't you think (especially a "10"). that's kind of why i was wondering why they wouldn't go with mental illness or something along those lines in the beginning...know what i mean?

And if TonE worked as a DJ in Fusion prior to meeting Casey, and ZFG frequented Fusion as Casey says, why didn't TonE know her, If I met a guy and he worked at a place my nanny frequented, I would most likely say to him "Hey my nanny comes here do you know her" and also ask the nanny if she knew the boyfriend.
We should send a list of these questions to the prosecution, I'm sure they think of all the angles but hey LE missed some big questions too.
GREAT point!

LKL is trying to get people to watch
You can still watch but just compromise. During the commercial break write down whatever commercials you see and then email them individually and break up with them. "We're through. I cannot forgive you for what you have done. It's obvious we have different values. Never darken my doorstep again-good bye loser!" It's all about balance.

Checking in and catching up. Interesting interview with the inmate who said Casey went bonkers upon hearing she was back up for the death penalty. My gut feeling is that she was "pi**ed" in general that ANYONE would dare even think about putting her to death.
It made me think about when my dog died a few years ago. I'd adopted her from the pound when she was an eight-week-old pup, and she developed pancreatitis at age 10, due to complications from other things that had been going on for quite awhile. She had to be put to sleep. For days afterward, I dreaded going home from work to an empty house, and when I ultimately got there, all I could do was wander from room to room clutching her favorite squeaky toy and bawling my eyes out. I missed her so much. She was essentially my kid.
Fast-forward to Casey: I read that interview, and all I could think about was how painful it was when my DOG died. I can honestly say that if my dog had been a flesh-and-blood child, and she was murdered, it wouldn't have bothered me a bit to die myself. In fact, I'd probably beg for it. Kill me. Because I wouldn't want to live without my child, and I'd do ANYTHING to see her again.
But Casey was pi**ed. Interesting.
As always, my own opinion.

sydney, I don't think anything would get OC to take a plea for anything. If she took the mental health as her plea than she would have to admit that she did the murder and this was why. If she takes a plea to get LWOP she would have to the same and admit her guilt. In her eyes she will get off because she has never had consequences to her actions. But she will have an AHA moment when the lead juror stands and reads the guilty verdict to her. And her jaw will drop. jmo

Exactly, Neffy! This should serve to prove to Jose and to Strickland that a change of venue would be USELESS. According to this Nationwide Poll, Casey stands to be convicted wherever they might move her trial!

That and credit cards, cash lying around the house for Casey's sticky fingers. Who leaves their cards and money around when there's a thief living under your roof? (well, two if you include GA)
She didn't work for two years. How much money did she REALLY help herself to? We only know what the A's have admitted to.
AND AND ..... who else did she steal from during those two years? Wasn't it said that she often was the designated driver for the partying gals? How hard is it to steal from someone who's drunk?

I'm with Scampi....I will most definitely watch and hope to see them finally come to the realization that they have zero public support...
they aren't fooling ANYONE (cept Larry)
someone asked if Lenamon (sp, sorry) wanted back on the case...I really have no idea but I would think not....do defense attorneys like to take on high profile cases even if they know the evidence is almost overwhelming against their client?
when I voted on the guilt site...it was 95% guilty.....
lots and lots of great posts over there.....I think tonight will be a very interesting show......

i found it interesting when lenammon (sp?) said that baez "found someone else, i guess" (parahrasing). it almost seemed like, even after he split with baez over "significant disagreements" he wanted back in on the case. anyone else think that?
also, not sure when an insanity/mental illness defense has to be raised. anyone know if they have to declare it at this time, or just prior to trial? seemed like that is the route lenammon wanted to go, and i would think that that strategy would be a lot saner than the "nanny did it" they are claiming now. at any rate, i think it would look even worse if they decided to go with mental illness now, when they've been preaching "the nanny did it" all this time.
(bolding mine) I got that same impression, sydney! It must have been hard for Lenamon(sp?) to lose all that publicity, but it is clear he has integrity. For that, I have tremendous respect for him in that he decided not to sell himself out!
I cannot imagine anyone with a reputation to uphold would join the now Talking-Head-ridiculed team of Jose Baez.

a caller on ng (or was it jvm) last night said that if casey was indeed looking for the nanny at nightclubs, who did casey think was watching caylee then? i mean, casey even said she trusted "zanny" and didn't think any harm would come to caylee when zanny first took her to "show her (casey) a lesson" (unless, of course, casey did the responsible thing and went to the police, in which case, according to casey, harm may have befallen caylee). So, how could this person be trustworthy enough to watch her child when casey apparently assumed she was out partying all the time, like casey herself was?
anyone following my line of thinking?
Oh, yes, I am! It is just one of the many many holes in the fabric of lies that Casey told to explain away Caylee's whereabouts and her actions. It is part of the reason why LE had no trouble determining that Casey was lying to them from the first words out of her mouth. It is part of the reason why the defense team will never be able to use the ridiculous nanny theory at trial. They can try to use it in in the court of public opinion until then, but it still isn't working w/anybody. I don't know anybody that believes that there ever was or is a nanny. It is nothing more than a ridiculous story to explain away Casey's horrific actions.

I so agree w/you. I don't think the prosecution put the DP back on the table to get JB off the case or even to try to get Casey to agree to a plea deal. Although, they both may be an added benefit if either ever comes to fruition. I think the prosecution put the DP back on the table because they think Casey will get convicted and that her crime warrants the DP.

What was wrong with TonE...to believe that she had money in the bank but couldn't get up enough for a gallon of gas?......Didn't he find that a bit odd?
And Casey must have known that Caylee would not be needing that money in her piggy bank......This broad is the lowest of low.....
Gee don't you remember there was a problem with her gas gauge? (according to her) I don't think she told him she had no money for gas. She needed the gas cans to get gas for her car, it was just convenient that the cans happened to have gas already in them. and when she left it at Amscot it was because there was some problem that her super duper manly father would take care of-lol! You also have to remember that Tone only knew the little "unmentionable" for a few weeks as far as I recall. He seemed to be "satisfied" with her uh, performance up until the whole "kidnapped" Caylee drama.

However it might get her off of the DP and will most likely be brought up at the penalty phase once she is found guilty.....at that time no one, not even her attorney's will be able to still say she in not guilty of the charges....They will have to present reasons for her actions only....(that will cetainly kill Cindy)...because she will not be allowed to say at anytime that her daughter is innocent
While I agree that your statement is logical, that is not what always happens. For example, in the Scott Peterson case, the defense penalty phase case primarily challenged the correctness of the jury's guilty verdict. http://crime.about.com/b/2004/12/07/peterson-witnesses-say-jury-made-a-mistake.htm The defense did not put on mitigating evidence such as psychological studies concerning men who freak out about impending fatherhood even though those kinds of studies are available. As far as I am aware, the defense did not even have SP medically or psychologically evaluated by experts in hopes of finding some potentially mitigating condition. The defense simply made no effort to present an alternative theory why SP murdered his pregnant wife to contradict the prosecution's theory that he was simply a monster.
It would not surprise me if we see a replay of this type of penalty phase defense in the Casey Anthony case, with the same likely outcome.

Well he said that he just received it and hadn't gotten to read it yet IIRC. Forgot he never says no comment. duh me! As to your question about whether or not she is able to understand the court proceedings I think that her telling her parents in the jail videos that she is studying law books for her case and that Lee is on tape along with a few others saying that she is a smart girl and knows how to manipulate things to get out of responsibility is not going to make any jury think she is mentally unstable or insane.

Seriously, how could Cindy say all of that w/a straight face? First of all, I guess Jeff's and ZFG's relationship ended on a positive note if she was watching his child after their big break up. Also, how kind hearted of Jeff to pay for ZFG to watch Caylee too. I mean most people I know work hard for every penny that they earn, and no matter how generous they are I have never heard of anybody paying for a friend's daycare costs, ever. Also, was Jeff married? I would think his wife wouldn't be too happy about him paying for another woman's child to be watched by the the same nanny that is also watching their child.
Do these people ever take a moment and think about what comes out of their mouths? It is always something outrageous, unbelievable, and ridiculous. I know the whole entire nanny story is a sham and is false, but you would at least think by now they would try to make what they are spewing about it seem somewhat believable and possible. But they are locked into the zanny thing whether they like it or not. Her own family and her defense has sealed her fate. jmo Also there are so many possibilities that OC never told the truth to her attorney, but then why would he say that he knows her better than us and there is a compelling reason for her or we will have an aha moment when the truth comes out in trial.

I can't wait to watch Cindy while they play tape after tape to make a huge fool of her and she has to sit there and take it. I'm sure they can add some after tonight. :tonguewag:

Larry will sit with his shoulders hunched up to his earlobes and go with the flow. There will be nothing new except perhaps a plug for their new "non-profit" organization.

Now Ish, that's what you'd do and what I'd do and what 99% of people would do. But remember, Casey had to be sure the Tony could actually SEE Zanny. Since George told LE in a taped interview that Caylee never said the name Zanny, and never showed any sign of recognition or any glint of knowledge in her eye when HE asked her about Zanny, how in the world did Caylee communicate to Cindy about Zanny's dog? Did she say,
"The lady who takes care of me at Sawgrass apartments, who is 5' 7", with brown hair, perfect teeth, you know, a 10, while my mom goes to work at Universal, has a little white dog, but I don't know his name" ??

In re-reading the ZG/Morgan depo, I just noticed that Cindy testified that Casey told her that Jeff Hopkins was the ex boyfriend of Zanny who was watching his son Zachary (who does not exist) and he was paying Zanny (who does not exist) not only to care for his imaginary son, but paying her for watching Caylee too while Casey worked at her Universal job (which did not exist).
Sheesh!
Why aren't there more boyfriends out there like this?!!! How did Casey let him slip thru her fingers? Perhaps because he doesn't exist?!!!
Jeez how gullible or thick or stupid or naive can one woman be to eat these lies up as quickly as they were dished out. or if she suspected, and I have got to believe she did, that they were lies to then repeat them to LE and the press as truth where is her common sense!!! i found it interesting when lenammon (sp?) said that baez "found someone else, i guess" (parahrasing). it almost seemed like, even after he split with baez over "significant disagreements" he wanted back in on the case. anyone else think that?
also, not sure when an insanity/mental illness defense has to be raised. anyone know if they have to declare it at this time, or just prior to trial? seemed like that is the route lenammon wanted to go, and i would think that that strategy would be a lot saner than the "nanny did it" they are claiming now. at any rate, i think it would look even worse if they decided to go with mental illness now, when they've been preaching "the nanny did it" all this time.
yes I did hear that and yes he did say they had talked since the DP was put on the table so I took it as he thought perhaps he would be her DP lawyer..she had 2 mental checks before she got out of jail the first time on bond..heck she would take the needle before she would say she murdered this sweet child because she was mentally ill..It would make the Anthony Family look bad..and no one can make them look like nut jobs..It just may pizz them off.

No, you're all good. They take their results from "Nielsen" families-they have either a box attached to tv and cannot lie or the journal where it's an honor system of writing down what station one was tuned into. Then they do a percentage thing from those people. I am pretty sure it is illegal to track your viewing through cable box/satellite without your permission unless they have a warrant of sorts. i could be wrong but my family has been a "Nielsen family" on more than one occasion and there is definitely a permission slip deal that you agree to. Having said that-don't forget who is sponsoring these shows and therefore "validating" these grave robeers. jmo

But, I will be DVRing,(guess not a real word), Larry King and watching it at 10PM. It is hard to believe that so many here say they will not watch his show, yet will want to discuss every word they say after the show is over.
You watch, the same ones will be asking what was said, how was it said, did you believe them, were there any "bombshell" moments?
I would rather watch Larry King most nights than to watch NG with the same stuff being repeated over and over and the guests being attacked and not being allowed to even finish a sentence.

I actually just listened to this song for the first time. Although I applaud any musician who can get up in front of a huge audience of people, I think Jonathan Whynock needs some singing lessons. He plays guitar quite well, and his probably a wonderful musician.
Here's my question though - If Cindy Anthony felt like "Caylee Marie was Sent from Heaven to Me" - shouldn't she should have done a better job of protecting that poor child from her momster, the OC? She obviously didn't, and that is part of the pain that both GA and CA are going through. Self inflicted pain I might add.
They should grieve alone, and in private. Grieving in front of millions of viewers on national tv is wrong, and it will only inflame America's opinion of the Anthony's even more. This will not bode well for Casey. I guarantee it.
Most of America hates the Anthony's, especially those in America that know their game, and schemes.

We all know LK will pussyfoot around the Anthonys tonight.
When the interview is over we will know:
How they feel
What they support
They miss Casey
They stand behind Casey
They are apart of Kidfinders
They have a Caylee Marie foundation
They look for other missing children
They are sad
But if you could choose someone to interview them and ask the "hard" questions, who would it be?

yes I did hear that and yes he did say they had talked since the DP was put on the table so I took it as he thought perhaps he would be her DP lawyer..she had 2 mental checks before she got out of jail the first time on bond..heck she would take the needle before she would say she murdered this sweet child because she was mentally ill..It would make the Anthony Family look bad..and no one can make them look like nut jobs..It just may pizz them off.
Bolding mine....
I so agree w/you! Casey would rather get the DP and at least in her mind be a martyr for being wrongfully convicted and put to death, then to admit to some sort of guilt because of mental defect.
Casey will never, and I mean NEVER, admit to what she did to Caylee. For whatever sick and twisted reason she does not want to be associated and take responsibility for Caylee's death, even if that means it costs her her own life. Good thing for her that her defense attorneys are on board.:sneaky:
I hope her attorneys are giving her all sides of the equation though and being straight w/her that in all probability she is going to be convicted. At the very least she will get LWOP.
I personally think that they all missed the boat though, her best chance would have been to negotiate some type of plea at the very beginning of this case. It's over for her no matter what her "Dream Team" does. It's just a matter of time now.

She just called it Zanny's dog even though she didn't know who Zanny was. But you know maybe Zanny's dog was just a code name for any dog that Caylee saw, like Zanny was a code name for whoever was watching Caylee. Wow, maybe I'm on to something here.... was Casey talking in code, super secret code, known only to a few people in the world that happen to have the last name of ANthony and live on HopeSpring Drive?
Caylee never said it was Zanny's dog. Caylee was talking about a puppy. Casey told Cindy she was talking about Zanny's dog. Cindy got that information from Casey. Same with the breed of dog. Out and out lies.

It's my opinion that the parents and brother still believe Casey is innocent and judging from their last interview on television, they pretty much pointed the finger at either Jesse Grund or Amy H., saying that one of those two was "Zanny".

This defense team would LOVE to equate casey anthony's actions to those of Cindy Sommers, but in my opinion the two cases are miles apart. CA failed to call LE when her daughter Caylee was "kidnapped" and had to be forced into getting on the line with 911 31 days later. Then, there is the not so small matter of the death odor in the trunk of her car.

She deserves her day in court, and I look forward to seeing the evidence at that time. I hope the state did their job so that justice will prevail.
I agree that Casey does deserve her day in court. But this case is a world apart from the Sommers case in the respect that we have tons more information about the evidence, the statements and everything else because of the Sunshine Law in Florida. If we are reading and digesting all the documents that are being released, and then concluding that Casey is a murdering mom, I wouldn't say we're jumping to conclusions nor passing judgement. Hmm.. Well, maybe we are passing judgment, but then we've got a lot of information pointing to her guilt and very VERY little that points to "innocent".

I'm guessing the description of "Zanny" will be justified somehow with the focus placed on Casey's confused state of mind at the time her daughter went missing.
She didn't give anyone a description until 31 days after the child went missing and it was of a woman she claimed to have employed for at least 2 years. The only confusion in her mind was the fug from boozing it up every night at some club and smoking pot with her boyfriend while she was supposed to be looking for her missing daughter.
When your innocent 2 year old has been forcefully taken from you, you get a grip on yourself and concentrate on a description that can save her life.
On the other hand, when you're lying at full speed and making it up as you go along, because you killed that annoying child and dumped her body so you could be free to party, you get a bit fuddled when describing a non-existent person.

I would just LOVE to hear Larry King lead with this question -

Justice will prevail and the star witness in my opinion will be Tony Lazarro. Many have speculated that Caylee was killed either late night June 15 or into the wee hours of the morning on June 16. Remember, Tony was in constant communication with Casey from 7:05 pm on the 15th until 3:22 am on the 16th. We have received no documents yet regarding this critical time-frame. Tony will be able to provide tremendous insight as to Casey's demeanor, whether he heard Caylee in the background while they were speaking, whether Casey was upset with Caylee in any way, what happened during the fight with Cindy and so on and so on. Tony's testimony will be powerful, it will be damaging, and it will help seal the deal for the OC and send her to death row where she belongs.

In cases where the defendant has chosen not to testify, I have seen judges directly address the defendant and ask whether the defendant understands that he/she has the right to testify on their own behalf and that they can testify even if their attorney has advised them not to, and also ask whether the defendant is voluntarily waiving that right. I personally have not yet seen the defendant respond by saying that they wanted to exercise their constitutional right to testify but had been improperly prevented from doing so by their attorney, but I'm sure it happens from time to time.

ITA! Like Casey's stories, Jose is taking fragments of other cases and trying to connect the fragments to make a not guilty story. LOL, you don't have to duck and run from me. The case I would compare this one too, would be Spector ONE. By the time the trial started, all sorts of nauseating things occurred.
I think this defense is hoping to keep out key evidence, such as CA's first taped interview at Universal. They will say she did not understand that she could leave. Then, they will attempt to keep out the Air Testing from the Body Farm. Then, any evidence from the home that was gotten because of probable cause found at the crime scene; using Kronk and his supposed tip off by a jailhouse employee as to where the body was. All of this is fantastic, but I truly believe the defense will try any and everything, in an effort to free this babykiller.

I also think both G and C know the money is gonna start to dry up now that the "nation" has learned so much about the murder and the murderer and the part they have played in all this..
they are frantically tryin to grab as much as they can really quickly before it's gone and they have to actually go out and try to get a job..and they know the public hates them so how will they ever support themselves..I mean..how will C ever be able to support G..
As if I give a rat's patootie..they should have to reap what lies and mistruth's and cover-up's they have sewn.
I love you CG!!!

If Caylee's remains were not found, I would be worried. But it's a slam dunk with the triple bagging that will tie back to the Anthony home along with the somewhat rare duct tape and the icing on the cake will be the heart sticker. jhmo

All their asking is everyone to be fair, wait until trial, and get that check in the mail to HOPESPRING DRIVE.
A REALITY CHECK is the only one that's coming there way.
I think that may be the only one they wouldn't be in a hurry to cash in.

He did not want to be questioned about the DP atty. He is hoping the world will learn to respect him.
Too bad he doesn't realize that respect has to be earned, and that requires a showing of some quality worthy of esteem.
He's got no chance of seeing that hope turn into reality the way he goes on.

You know they will. They're going to have a tough time overcoming the fact that Casey was the last non-imaginary person to have custody of Caylee. That no one else on Earth had any reason to harm that child (but Casey regarded her as a nuisance), her own words and demeanor (as you say) will not help the defense, the smell in the car, the invisible script and the hardy partying that went on while she was supposedly searching for her missing child. And that isn't even the tip of the ice berg.
If they can't get Mandrake the Magician in to exert his power over the minds of the jury and make them vote NG, Casey is in BIG trouble.

Hiya Blue, LTNS!! I agree with you, the Prosecutors do seem to have an abundance of circumstantial evidence. Linda Drane Burdick is very talented and barring some outrageous event, I see a conviction in this case.

No....NANCY GRACE.
No, Meghan Kelly, she has so much more class and takes no prisoners. Likely George and Cindy would take off their mics and walk off which would show what cowards they both are.

Cindy actually said "Caylee is NOT dead, no one has found her yet"
That won't work anymore.
No, it won't...
But I could have sworn I saw a news clip where Cindy make that comment about being shown a body (or else she wouldn't believe Caylee was dead), only a couple of days before they were due to appear on the LKL show, just before Caylee's remains were found.
