Yet in my decades of commenting on the political scene, I cannot recall a single leader of any country or regime who has ever spoken negatively of his country or tolerated others speaking ill of the land or the people he represented
Until now
Bizarre and, yes, repugnant as it is to our essentially centrist country, America now has a president who has broken that time-honored tradition. Barack Obama, on the campaign trail and as the leader of the free world is the first U.S. president to proclaim to anyone within earshot that he, like his wife, is not proud of his country, and is all-too-willing to offer serial apologies – for America! – to Americans and foreigners alike.
Not to mention bowing to the Saudi king.

Who gives a rats behind what that rag right wing Canadian paper thinks.
I guess they too have a hard time understanding the way things are.
Many Americans, not just our President, don't hate our country, we hate what our country has become the past 8 years under George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, and the rest of the spineless enablers.
They have made the United States hated and in turn, made many many Americans hate what we've become.
I'm sure many on the right know the difference but in order to get their lies out about Obama they'll continue to spin it to mean what they want it to mean, reality be damned.
It's sickening that the right has sunk to the levels it has because of their hatred for anything Democrat.
Like we on the left were told 8 years ago, "you lost, get over it", so, right back at you. Quit the damn whining, lying, and spinning and work for your country instead of against it.
Twisting the words of the President isn't working for the country. And if I were to use the words of the right against them I'd call them un-patriotic, un-American and troops haters for speaking out against the President. Or is this another case of it's ok if you're a Republican to speak out against the President in the ways that you do?

From your link:
"But all that pales in comparison to the clear contempt – looks more like hatred to me – that Obama feels for the United States of America and for its most revered founding document, the U.S. Constitution."
This is what I consider contempt for the U.S. Constitution to be:
GOP leaders told Bush that his hardcore push to renew the more onerous provisions of the act could further alienate conservatives still mad at the President from his botched attempt to nominate White House Counsel Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court.
"I don't give a goddamn," Bush retorted. "I'm the President and the Commander-in-Chief. Do it my way."
"Mr. President," one aide in the meeting said. "There is a valid case that the provisions in this law undermine the Constitution."
"Stop throwing the Constitution in my face," Bush screamed back. "It's just a goddamned piece of paper!"

Gee, if any non Obama supporter posted something four years old here, they'd be mocked for "bringing up old news".
Funny how no one could cooborate that claim that he said that. No one would "go on record". LOL, I bet. But hey, the author "talked to people who heard, or were present, or had knowledge...." LOL.

Oh, wait a second. Factcheck.org - ya'll do like that place, right? it is cited here regularly by the pro-Obama people - says -
We judge that the odds that the report is accurate hover near zero. It comes from Capitol Hill Blue, a Web site that has a history of relying on phony sources, retracting stories and apologizing to its readers.

How dishonest.

'one aide' said. The infamous 'unnamed' source. Ha. Hearsay. Who said it? Anyone can FABRICATE anything. What type of intellect repeats such unbelieavable garbage?
Keith Olberman, maybe?
It was "capitolhillblue" and factcheck.org knocked it down for what it is. I wouldn't want to post the link either if that's what I had to resort to, but that's just me.

Actually, it was three sources....but who's counting?
For those who doubt if it happened, all they need to consider is... "Actions speak louder than words"...

Yes, they sure do:

Just a little FYI, canadafreepress is sorta like a Canadian version of freepers. :blushing: I wouldn't take anything as gospel or even informative, they've already been sued - just another right-wing propaganda rag, I'm just sayin'.
TY for backing up what I said about the canadafreepress in my post.
