Actually, the interpretation could be read that nearly 19 million viewers watched the press conference and 8 million chose not to. However Fox seems to regularly have more viewers than the others on a regular basis which is very meaningful in itself.

I didn't watch by choice... I had the USA channel on watching NCIS reruns... really enjoyed it too... figured I could catch up today either here or the multitude of snippets that would be aired today on all the networks from his latest town hall and the big speech celebrating his 100 days in office.. which.. by golly got all caught up in a matter of five mins of morning news.

8 million chose not to and watched FOX. I am willing to bet millions more avoided the presser and watched other stations.
Of course, hadn't thought of that.

The pressers are boring and scripted, allowing BO to bloviate, and for selected press members to ask softball questions and/or for BO not to be challenged or asked comeback questions when his replies leave unanswered questions. Perhaps this is why most have chosen not to watch BO's pressers.
IMO
FNC enjoys the overwhelming lion's share among the cable news networks too.

A network that asked the tough questions of all elected officials, was steadfast with speaking truth to power, would do very well.

I watched a movie on either HBO or Cinemax so our household wasn't counted at all.

I was at a baseball game, but wasn't interested anyway.

Ask your self this question: Fox is the mouth piece of the Republican party, why is Fox so successful, but th R - party is imploding, fast losing membership? Because Hannity and Co are mere freak shows. America loves to be entertained. And Fox peddles fiction; pure entertainment.

Fox News on cable carried the press conference, I guess the Fox FCC channel didn't. But more American's watched the presser, than the show on Fox.

I have heard that the new Judge Napolitano show on Fox is actually pretty good, but I don't watch a lot of tv.

Fox aired snippets of the press conference which was the the most acted, scripted and rehearsed covereage and I was not enchanted. I felt so bad for the reporters, it was a total sham.
Why call it a press conference when all of the reporters just sit memorized and neutered in their seats?
Obama should have just held a conference without the press, in my humblest opinion.
That was the sorriest conference I've ever seen. Except with Prez Bush even tho the media did not favor him, at least there were cameras blasting away, reporters interrupting each other to get their questions answered, pencils and paper in hand, people scribbling on them, and trying to question the President into a corner. Now that was a press conference!
So sad

I sometimes like to watch them go nuts over the current administration, some seem to have lost all sense of reality, it's comical really - jmho

His audience was down by more than 10 million, from another press conference.
Why do you think this is?
I'M sure it's because people know how competent he is now. In the beginning they tuned in out of curiosity. They now see him on tv all the time addressing every crisis. And funny thing-his approval rating has gone up 4 points in the last two days to 67%, only 1 point down from his first approval of 68% in Jan.: http://www.gallup.com/Home.aspx

Thanks, firsttoserve. Did you see my edit?
Thanks for the link...I looked around a little and found this.
Obama is well-reviewed by a majority of most major demographic and political groups within the U.S. adult population. Blacks, Democrats, and liberals all give him understandably high ratings. Aside from these groups, Obama's highest marks -- registering better than 70% approval -- come from Hispanics, adults living in low-income households, residents of the East, young adults (aged 18 to 29), and Americans with postgraduate educations.

Well we can't expect any better from the "we hope he fails" gang and FAUX Pretendnews. I wish they were avoiding it 'cause they were so busy bringing repubs together to think up useful ideas to assist with the nation and the world's problems. But no - they don't have a better thought than trying to avoid, criticise and obstruct anything the present administration tries to do. Great work there FAUX!

Well, maybe Fox didn't air Obama because they did not want to postpone American Idol. Ever think of that? And maybe they won the night because AI is so popular and is coming down to just a few contestants? Hello!!!!!!
You are right and they said so in the link.
The number of people that watched Obama:
Combined, that is an approximate 14.1 rating/24 share in the hour
The number of people that watched American Idol:
American Idol 13.4/20 in the hour.

Who cares what he says? How are his opinions more relevant than say mine or Susan43's?
I think he is right that the economy did need to be stimulated after it declined due to someone's (more than one) decisions over the past two years. I believe the stimulus began before January. I think both parties believed that the economy needed to be stimulated. How and at what cost was the argument. IMO

Wow. BHO was on three networks, barely got more viewers than AI?
How demoralizing must that be?

PSSSST, over here, yeah, here.
I'm gonna give you a pointer. Ok, ready? The average household is three people. So lets say 20 million HOUSEHOLDS are tuned into the President speaking, roughly speaking thats 60 million people watching.
Oh, and as a bonus, interenet viewers and viewers on C-SPAN aren't included in that 20 million HOUSEHOLDS figure.
Glad I could help.
Honestly, you need to really come prepared if you're going to attack Obama. Your arguments always seem to be, well, not very well thought out and downright inane.

I was dissappointed that the President chose to call the 'speculators'...who are every day Americans-teachers pensions...etc. as 'Un American' for choosing to delve into bankcruptcy proceedings for their market share with Chrysler.
It was one more government control of free enterprise he declared his superiority and one more time chose to invite government into a legal free market. I wonder how those Americans with investments view this intrusion and control...and quite frankly juvenile name calling by the President.

Me too. He's calm and reassuring and in times like these those qualities are very welcome.

Yes I saw that Benoit said something like that. But please remember that Chrysler is getting tax payer money.

I can't pretend to know exactly what the president is doing, but since you and I helped bail them I would hope he's looking out for us rather then the people that are involved with hedge funds.
Top Hedge Fund Managers Do Well in a Down Year
As major markets and economies careened downward last year, 25 top managers reaped a total of $11.6 billion in pay by trading above the pain in the markets, according to an annual ranking of top hedge fund earners by Institutional Investor’s Alpha magazine, which comes out Wednesday.

You can continue to worry about the owners of hedge funds if you want. But I'm not sure they need it.

BO losing his ratings is political news, it is an indication people are waking up and no longer going for his socialist programs, why is it now buried in "media"?
the polls do not show what you be a preaching though....

It's a shame there are that many uninformed people. Apparently they do not know that Fox Entertainment channel went to court to secure their right to tell lies and call it news.
Sunshine, do you have a link for that info about Fox news. There has to be more to it than just "going to court to secure the right to lie". I've seen that used on this forum more times than I can count.
