This subject came up in another thread and I would be all for it. Just wondering how others would feel. This assumes the USA defeats their enemies there.

Hummm. Nice thought but perhaps a bit premature? We have a ways to go before it would be feasible. Good food for thought though. Big stick vs helping hand, if the time is right the helping hand wins everytime.
My opinion.

My opinion.Iraq and Afganistan are vastly different situations but just looking for feelings. Thank you for the reminder of the question being premature but I am a big fan of being prepared.
I think a major mistake made by the USA was dropping Afganistan like a hot rock when Russia pulled out. That was the time for assistance. Now, I'm sure the people would have their doubts but I believe it isn't too late. jmo

I'd favor it if done like we did in WW2: yes funding and letting the people rebuild so they have jobs and then can rebuild their economy. In Iraq the U.S. contracted out rebuilding to U.S. businesses or other corporations who brought in cheap foreign labor from other countries. The refugess and skilled workers left the country and/or were killed. Put the people back to work rebuilding their country. IMHO Bush plan was to rebuild the country with his vision, not the Iraq vision.

Well, at least it isn't premature to lay the groundwork.
