I took some time recently to look into the backgrounds of Obama campaign donors and to study their relationship with our new president. The following is a summary I have compiled of donors whom have either received some type of government benefit as a result of their donation, or may have received some form of personal, professional, or monetary favor from Obama.

A seperate post will be made for each donor profile so that quoted replies will take up less space.

Part I.

Arguably, the most well-known controversial contributor to an Obama campaign is Chicago businessman Robert Blackwell, Jr, co-founder of Electronic Knowledge Interchange Inc, and (perhaps more relevantly) founder of Killerspin, a table tennis company.

Blackwell has been a long-time source of funding for Barack Obama political campaigns. He has been providing contributions since Obama's frist political race back in 1995 for the open Illinois State Senate seat. In all, Blackwell has given tens of thousands of dollars.

According to the L.A. Times, Blackwell's ventures received $320,000 in Illinois state grants to fund tournaments. Barack Obama received $112,000 for providing legal counsel to Blackwells firm over the period of one year.

"The Day After Obama Wrote His Letter Urging The Awarding Of The State Funds, Obama's U.S. Senate Campaign Received A $1,000 Donation From Blackwell."

Here is the link to the L.A. Times story:

A quick check of Barack Obama's campaign finance records clearly indicates Robert Blackwell, Jr. as a steady contributor.

Part II.

James E. Bowman is a physician whom is internationally known for his work in pathology, other specialties. Like Robert Blackwell, Bowman has been a repeated supporter of Barack Obama political campaigns, making his first donation in 1995.

Bowman is a father of one child, Valerie. Valerie Bowman Jarrett, co-chair for the Obama-Biden transition, is now serving as a Senior Advisor and Assistant to President Barack Obama for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Liason.
