Chris Simcox, a founder of the anti-illegal immigrant Minutemen, announced that he will challenge Sen. John McCain in next year's GOP primary. Simcox will officially kick off his campaign tomorrow in Phoenix. “John McCain has failed miserably in his duty to secure this nation’s borders and protect the people of Arizona from the escalating violence and lawlessness,” Simcox said in a statement. “He has fought real efforts over the years at every turn, opting to hold our nation’s border security hostage to his amnesty schemes. Coupled with his votes for reckless bailout spending and big government solutions to our nation’s problems, John McCain is out of touch with everyday Arizonans. Enough is enough.”

I live in AZ, and I voted for Obama, but, IMO, this is just going to be a waste of time and money. The Dems are not going to pick up an additional seat.

McCain in a blowout.

AHHHHHHHHHH. Now I get why McC has made those comments to Latino groups recently.:ohmy: I would actually like to see alot of these dead wood lifer politicians be challenged by fresh blood.. politicians like Pelosi, Reid, Hoyer, Franks, etc.. how have overstayed, overspent and under performed.. at least one thing I can say to McCain's credit he has actually not been one of the huge pork earkmarks people.. so that's a good thing.. we need to get the egregious earmarkers off Congress... obama and biden are gone from congress so this will help but there are many, many, many others who should get a pink slip IMO:smile:

This is a good thread, Daniel. Wonder why it is moved off the 'Politics' board? Seems it is more than just about immigration, but about a Senator and former Presidential Candidate. I think it should be put back on the Politics Bd.
