Prosecutor Jackson attacks Spector defense's 14 points. Says stats that 99% of intra-oral gunshot wounds are self-inflicted mean nothing.

I wonder where he is going with Joe D., hmmm Joe was married to Marilyn Monroe and stepped in after her death to take care of everything. PS was born after or at the end of the depression. I'm sure it wil make sense in the end!
I mean those are the only connections I can think of to the case.

Jury Brought in . .
AJ says he will take about 1/2 hour
i will post later - need to listen to this.
AJ talking about baseball, the great depression and Joe Di Maggio.
. . . I hope this ENDS with a HOMERUN!
***********************
Bless your heart 2-cents...appreciate your time and trouble.
Tried to speculate what those 3 subjects had in common.
"baseball, Di Maggio and great depression".
Here we go... The triumph of the will over adversity..??
Di Maggio and baseball... as an immigrant who overcame severe injuries and physical pain to be inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1955.
The Great Depression.. The great mass of people who overcame severe economic problems.
Refer...to Lana overcoming career setbacks and horrible injuries to wrists..but able to pick herself up and continue.
My take/guess only.

Interesting! Blow by blow account here in real time. Nice.
Ok, I can see how this is going. Considering what they had to work with, the defense actually did a very good job in their closing argument. Well crafted smoke and mirrors.
But it looks like the prosection is going to unmask the deceptions. So the jury is going to have everything they need to make the right decsion and will have no one to blame but themselves if they don't.
But expect that they will. Cue the fat lady.

Hey Beeeee... LTNS
My recollection is that court will be in session this Friday. Judge Fidler usually uses that day to assign cases as part of his administrative duties. Jurors could reach a verdict and a call to principles for a session, probably within an hour.
Monday and Tuesday are dark court days.
My guess is a verdict Friday..though it may be today if Foreperson allows a vote within 3 days....

The morning break is over and JF is going over JURY INSTRUCTIONS. He said it will take about 45 minutes.
Before break JF advised Gallery that they could stay for instructions, but that NO ONE COULD LEAVE DURING INSTRUCTIONS.
AND IF ANYONE'S CELL PHONE VIBRATED, MADE A NOISE ETC . . . (DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT THE PENALTY WOULD BE)
FILDER JUST MADE JOKE TO JURORS ABOUT NOT EATING PISTACHIO NUTS BEFORE COVERING JURY INSTRUCTIONS - - THEN GAGS A LITTLE. HE SAYS, "NOW I KNOW HOW MY CAT FEELS WHEN SHE GETS A HAIRBALL".
AFTER BREAK: (and before Jury brought in)
Weinberg addresses court:
Weinberg readdresses rewriting that info he wanted left in jury instructions. DW wants it left in and left written "as is". He states why.
(This is what JF had stated previously that it was "argument" and argument is NOT allowed.)
JF denied this request by DW again

Bet the jury was dry-eyed when Whine-berg finished yesterday.
Not sure about where the issue of Dr. Lee and the allegedly missing piece of fingernail came in (mentioned on ML's Twitter site): what exactly did AJ say about it?
I'm thinking that it might have been more evidence of a struggle - like the bruises and the tongue .... and that they think Dr. Lee may have "disappeared" it because he was working for the defense. Am I remembering that correctly?

AFTER CLOSING ARGUMENTS BY AJ AND JURY LEAVES, WEINBERG GETS UP BEFORE JUDGE AND HE IS PI$$#@ OFF.
DURING AJ'S CLOSING - HE WENT STEP BY STEP THROUGH THE "DEFENSE'S 14 POINTS" that Weinberg used to support SPECTORS's innocence - - over the 1 3/4 days.
During these 14 points (I will post in detail later about all of them) NUMBER 14 was:
14. BROKEN ACRYLIC NAIL
AJ discussed the "broken nail" on Lana Clarkson's hand.
AJ asked the jurors . . . WHERE'S THE NAIL? IF IT BROKE WHEN THE GUN WAS FIRED - - WHERE IS IT? THE DEFENSE AND THE STATE WENT THROUGH THE CRIME SCENE AREA WITH A FINE TOOTH COMB. WE DIDN'T FIND ANY BROKEN NAIL. WHERE IS IT? IF IT BROKE IN THAT HOUSE WE WOULD HAVE FOUND IT. SO WHERE IS IT? ITS NOT THERE BECAUSE IT WASN'T THERE WHEN SHE ARRIVED AT THE HOUSE THAT NIGHT OR SOMEONE WOULD HAVE FOUND IT.
OMG . . . that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
So AJ finishes his closing and Jury Leaves and Weinberg jumps up and asks for MISTRIAL . WEINBERG CLAIMS - - UNFAIR!!!
DW says it is not fair - no way to fix this error now. must allow mistrial. Its not the defense's fault that Dr Henry Lee not allowed to testify, yadda yadda yadda.
AJ: I AM FLABBERGASTED. FLABBERGASTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DR HENRY LEE FOUND SOMETHING . . .AND HE STOLE IT! STOLE IT! I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT WAS . . .BUT HE STOLE IT.WHAT DID HENRY LEE FIND - I DON'T KNOW.
DW: NOW STATES THAT DR LEE DID FIND A NAIL, "EVERYONE BELIEVES IT WAS A NAIL AND HE WAS KEPT OFF THE STAND"
JF: I DIDN'T KEEP HIM OFF THET STAND. THAT WAS THE DEFENSES DECISION. NOTHING WAS EVERY ESTABLISHED AS TO WHAT HE FOUND. AND YOU CHOSE NOT TO CALL HIM TO TESTIFY.

If I am not mistaken, after I actually spoke with Juror #9, it was the Foreman that had convinced the other Jurors that it is only the Foreman that can bring issues to the Judge. If what he said was true (and I fave no reason to doubt him), do you honestly believe that Juror #10 would have submitted a complaint about himself?? You are welcome to ask him yourself if he has not already replied.
I do not know how he was able to grant himself any power over them but that is what he did. It was not until after the hung Jury that they found out that the Foreman has no other privileges other then just being the one that reads the vote.
Also, to a prior comment, I do believe the quote "Do you promise to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help you God" came from a time when it seemed best to put the fear of God in someone to tell the truth and it worked, then.
It seemed that you implied that the Bible, or more specifically, the 10 Commandments are referred to in our modern day Court System. Sorry, it is not. They may have been the back done to early Law, again using the Fear of God to promote good behavior, that is no longer the case with the exception of those strongly focused in their religion.
Here's a link that discuses a Case regarding the 10 Commandments at Courthouses:
http://www.firstamendmentcenter.org/analysis.aspx?id=15483
10 Commandments on wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Commandments
How many of those Commandments are really enforced in our Laws and in the Courtroom? Sorry, none of them as they are all superseded by our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
They are however, a great guild for living life but no legal entity will enforce them on the grounds of Separation of Church & State.
Thank you. You said what I was trying to say so much better than I.

While Harriet Ryan, myself, and the CNN reporter were asking Pat Kelly from the PIO office about notifications, a single buzzer went off. That was about 11:50 am. We find out from the bailiff later that a single buzzer means they have started deliberations. Two buzzes means they have a question. Three buzzes means they've reached a verdict.
The bailiff did tell us that they would not be having a working lunch today. They were going to break, have a relaxing lunch and then get back to work. I hope to report when they've selected a foreperson.

Harriet Ryan (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/03/phil-spector-1.html) of the LA Times:
In a final argument to jurors before they began deliberations, a prosecutor seized on the actress’ chance meeting with Spector, three hours before her death, at a Sunset Strip club where she was a VIP room hostess.
He asked jurors to imagine they could speak one sentence to her before she got in Spector’s chauffeured Mercedes.
“You are all thinking the same thing,” Deputy Dist. Atty. Alan Jackson said. Dropping his voice to a whisper, he continued, “You’d say, ‘Lana, whatever you do, don’t go.’”
He said the impulse to warn Clarkson came from jurors’ knowledge of “the real Phil Spector” -- a “demon” with a history of menacing women with guns.

The Daily Mail (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1164974/Frazzled-Phil-Spector-awaits-fate-murder-trial-comes-close.html)
Pasty-faced and with tousled hair hanging lank over his shoulders, a haggard Phil Spector awaits to hear his fate....
Today the reclusive producer, who pioneered the 1960s 'wall of sound' recording technique, is a shadow of his former self.
The 67-year-old's face appears to be collapsing in on itself - as does his hair, usually coiffed into flamboyant styles.
Not even dabs of blusher on his cheeks could hold back the ravages of time.
'Spector looks catatonic,' Royal Oakes, a legal analyst, claimed on U.S. television.
'You couldn't imagine anyone who seems more disengaged or disinterested. He seems heavily medicated.
'But how his overall appearance would affect the verdict is anyone's guess.'

Oh my gosh... if you haven't gone to the link above and looked at the photos.... what is going ON with Phil? He didn't look like the picture of health in the last trial but now he looks positively eerie and ill (and somewhat reminiscent of Michael Jackson) and WHO IS PUTTING ALL THAT PINK BLUSH ON HIM?
....wait... I guess I know the answer to that question. WTH is she thinking..... and what is Phil thinking letting her?

Ok, I'm getting very frustrated trying to get information here. It's like pulling teeth
Some of you seem to refer me to CNN but no name for the show and the other refers me to Tru-TV and neither side is giving me any times. I get the feeling they come and go and I missed it again.
I do not want to leave this BlinkoTV app running 24-7 in hopes that I "might" get lucky and catch something. I have no TV Guide and I am not psychic.
If you can't tell, I am really hating this BlinkoTV and I want to shut it off but every time I think about doing that, someone posts about a show commenting about this trial. I get the feeling I'm on the wrong channel, again and I switch to the other channel, just to switch back after another post.

They've been deliberating anywhere between zero and an hour and 15 minutes time - depending on how long of a lunch they took. 11:30 deliberation start - no doubt that's a bunch of, "OK, let's figure out how we do this" - then it's lunch time, then when they get back, and start - and it's now 1:15. It hasn't been long yet.

I think the times vary so greatly because it depends on the time zones and/or the tv service. Satellite tv airing times are different than for those with cable tv.

I am sorry if I hurt anyone’s sensibilities here but in PS1 I believe that the jury as a whole failed the system. Not just the foreperson. Another Juror and we should all know who that was IIRC claimed to be a bully, “a bully for justice”. Then why may I ask did he or the rest of the jurors allow three days to pass before he forced the first sample vote on where everyone stood with regards to his innocence or guilt? Were 10 other jurors intimidated by the foreperson to the extent that they wouldn’t advise the Judge that he refused to deliberate? They could have had him removed and elected another foreperson. Why did the “bully for justice” let this happen? It was only on the last day, IIRC that he forced the issue and buzzed the court to let them know that they were hopelessly deadlocked against the wishes of the foreperson. As I recall, the foreperson said he was “still listening”. Listening to what may I ask? I will not announce my belief as to the guilt or innocence of Phil Spector as it is not my place to do so since I wasn’t at the trial on the jury nor at the crime scene when it happened. Two people know what happened and one of them is sadly deceased and cannot speak for her self. All the lawyers, experts, talking heads and armchair detectives are never going to solve this tragedy. All the theories and opinions mean nothing. I personally will not jump for joy if Phil Spector is convicted and I will respect what this new jury decides. It will not affect my life in any way nor should it yours with the exception of his family and friends. It saddens me that so many want such vengeance. For vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
IIRC, there was a juror who was frustrated by the refusal of the foreman to allow a vote to be taken and threatened to go to the judge if a poll wasn't held. The foreman relented.
This was unfortunate only in that it would have been better had the juror just sent a note to the judge explaining the situation. I believe strongly that #10, the foreman, would have been replaced and deliberations would have resumed and a guilty verdict would have been reached, imo.
I don't recall the expression "a bully for justice" but I will let that pass. The first "sample" vote would not have been to establish innocence or guilt, rather the jury has to determine whether the State has met its burden of proof (beyond a reasonable doubt) and then vote guilty or not guilty, that is, proven or not proven. A jury never declares a defendant "innocent."
Of course the jury was hopelessly deadlocked "on the last day." The judge declared a mistrial and dismissed them and the trial was over.
Since, as you say, you were not present on the jury or at the crime scene, you choose not to render an opinion...that's up to you. But having watched the entire first trial I feel absolutely qualified to have a very informed opinion based on the testimony and exhibits, the FACTS, and they scream out not for "vengeance" but J U S T I C E. Justice long delayed by the power of the defendant's purse.
No where in the jury's charge are actual instructions on how to deliberate. Each jury has to feel its way to doing that on its own. It's a big responsibility, a great burden, especially in a high-profile, six-month trial. I'm not surprised that the jury was intimidated. While I am disappointed they didn't revolt and go to the judge, I don't blame them. They did ultimately speak up when polled and that's when Fidler discovered the problematic jury intruction which had been wrongly given, thanks to the prodding of the defense, and which had to be amended.
Solve this tragedy?? Do you mean bring Lana back to life? No, all the pundits and lawyers and bloggers can't do that. But we who followed the evidence know all but the tiniest details (i.e. precisely how it happened) and can imagine the rest courtesy of the women who experienced the terror of a loaded Spector with a loaded gun.
And most of all, we know from Spector's own excited utterance that he had killed someone. So it's no mystery to any but the willfully ignorant, imo.
If you feel that the only permissable judgement comes only from God, please do the Republic a favor and never serve on a jury which is tasked with dispensing justice here on earth. "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's," said Christ, who was not opposed to taxation, and wouldn't have been against juries either, imo.
I WILL be jumping for joy when Spector is finally led off to the rest of his life behind bars. Not because I thirst for "vengeance" but for
J U S T I C E-- Justice for Lana.
