So if they get married, and Crystal continues her propensity NOT to work then Chad will have to support 1 kid and pay CS on 4. 5 kids and he's just 29. Haven't heard where he works. I think Crystal supports her on welfare and WIC now. Don't know how she plans to support Ron Jr. Wonder IF or Where Chad works?

Well that's just kind of gross isn't it? Think of the combination when they get married. My MIL, step-mother, etc. I don't know how they'll all fit when Chad has his kids, IF he gets his kids. His order of protection only ran out in Nov and I don't know if it involved kids or not. I've read so much it is running together. IMO and I could be wrong in all I said (except the gross part!).

He would not legally be responsible for her child support but if she's his wife and she won't work and he wants her to stay out of jail, then he has to pay. I was talking about the practical aspects of them getting married, not the legal ones.

I do.. I find this laywer talks with a forked tongue :tonguewag: IMO anyways. Maybe Crystal doesn't want custody? Maybe she just doesn't want Ron to either? This lawyer also said she doesn't want to do it in the media.. YET she is doing just that.. Sorry.. I shared a story just yesterday about a friend of mine, so I won't repeat it..but when a mother feels their child is in danger they do everything they can to keep them safe. IMO

No, I do not think this is odd. The proper way is for the investigation to be conducted and the results obtained. Hopefully, with all this publicity on Jr., he will not disappear in the meantime.

I also don't think Misty or Ron would be dumb enough to mistreat Jr. while the investigation is ongoing.

Today on JVM when Ron was shown ................ he said everyone should still be focused on HaLeigh................well, my daughter and almost started crysing.

I just do not think he did anything to hurt his child. If I am wrong...........well, I will admit it.

Also, his mother seems that her heart has just been riped out...........

i have a question, too - many posters here are now saying that because dfs "took no action" haleigh is gone. i don't understand that - if crystal was REALLY that fearful for her children, she could have made a police report and refused to return them. not only that, i keep asking why her attorney, if she has all this "proof", hasn't filed an emergency petition for removal of the children....

And what action were they supposed to take? Should they remove (or take action) the children on what people who have self-serving interests give them? Did a teacher, MD, relative have documentrtion to support the facts? How do we know all the reports were actually taken as good faith reports by DCF? "Crying wolf" by people is one reason that DCF after having looked into the same allegations over and over with no evidence causes DCF to assess other factors within the family (custody,divorce) are the reason for the report They just cannot accept all reports. Some info and anonymous report are looked at with caution. I have seen cease and desist orders given by Judges when petitions are filed by ppl who feel DCF is being used to harrass by vindictive reporters.

IMO, this case is full of questions and few answers. I'm glad that things are being investigated, as they should be.

I don't know if Ron did or did not abuse anyone, or if anything Crystal said is true or not. I hope an investigation will clear it up.

Here's my link. I try to provide links whenever I can. In fact they said just the other day they haven't been able to clear Ron & Misty and Mark Klass said that's what's holding up the investigation. LE's said Misty has shown repeated inconsistencies.

LE in this case have said it's never safe to say family members aren't suspects. I try to pay attention to what they're cautioning the public in this case. That's just the way I try to approach it.

He's had a protective order against him since Nov. 2006 until Dec. 2008! Holy Cow that's a long time. This is the FIRST woman that I've run into (with this case) that has tried to protect herself and her kids and "evidently" had some sort of documentation to keep it going that long. The focus is on finding Haleigh. IMO, if there was abuse in the home, it has a great bearing on finding Haleigh.

It is my understanding that Crystal and her family reported to FL DCF when they thought abuse may have occurred and DCF determined at that time that there was no abuse.

What has captured my attention is all the claims of abuse to the attorney by people in the area who personally know Ron / Ron and Misty.

None of us know what happened to Haleigh, except for maybe Misty and Jr.

I have feared for Haleigh from the get go....the timeline you speak of is from 7 pm until 3 am...I think someone saw Haleigh alive at 7pm...if that's the case, Ron was at work?? If she was last seen at say 5pm then I'd think their timeline would start at 5 until 3 am...

If they lived in Daytona Beach, that's approx an hour's drive from Satsuma and an hour's drive back. If Joe is the one that took Haleigh, I'm assuming he waited til Tim/Chelsea/kids were asleep before taking the van....but then he would have to drive an hour, 30 min or so to sneak to get Haleigh, drive somewhere to do God knows what with her, then drive an hour back to Daytona before Chelsea being wakened at 4am with the call that Haleigh is missing and her noticing that the van is parked differently than she left it.

IMO, the timeline for the above would really be cutting it close. It would be interesting to know what time Chelsea & family went to bed that night.

And, since it's reported that police are still having difficulty with Misty's timeline, it seems their suspicion is still on *her* involvement....instead of Joe.

I read something not to long ago about who had been there that day ... there was a list including Misty's brother (but not Cousin Joe) and they stayed about a half hour and left around 4:00?

I think a lot of things are possible in this case. Horrible to think a parent would harm a child but I know it happens. I heard news say the other day that law enforcement is trying to pin down a timeline. That tells me they don't have one verified yet. So that would mean the one that's told to them by Misty and Ron hasen't been verified yet. If it were, they would need no further wondering about a timelime.

I'll never forget the first case tried by DNA evidence. The criminal (Colin Pitchfork) paid someone to lie for him. Thus, the crime went unsolved for a longer amount of time than it would have if the paid liar haden't lied. If someone haden't gotten drunk in a bar and someone else overheard and gone to police the case would have remained unsolved.

It's shocking how many family and friends will lie for criminals. Just last night Dog Chapman had a couple of families lie to try to hide felons from the law. Willfully lie even though they would have lost their home in the process. John Couey's family lied to protect his raping, murdering and burring a 9 year old child alive. They even helped him dig the grave from what I read. Didn't follow any more than that of that case.

It's not that simple. If she had refused to return them, she would have ended up in jail. Just filing a police report won't help... it would have to be some kind of proof that her children were in danger or being abused, and saying it doesn't make it so. They have to have visible proof.
This lawyer says reports have been filed in the past, but saying DCF took no action means, they did not see sufficient cause to remove the children from the home.... doesn't mean they did nothing period. At least that's the way I see it. If someone else is more knowledgable, feel free to correct me.
Ron says he spanks his kids within the DCF guidelines say is okay to discipline them. I take that to mean he has been councelled about the proper way to spank them. So I believe that DCF has been to the home before.

I am not judging Ron but I hope he has been advised or ordered to take Parenting Classes. IMO, if DCF has been to his house on reports of physical abuse, I hope they recognized his temper/anger issue. Had I been his social worker and knew him, I would take corporal punishment off the table for him. In the first place if he uses that form of discipline I would never tell him what THE LAW deems acceptable punishment and also everytime he touches a child someone is going to report him for whatever reason. Why set himself up for further DCF reports? Alternate methods of controlling children work and he should know everyone. I was told that if a mark is left on a child it should only be there if you tried to prevent an accident and had to grab them (out of water, in the road ) for safety and restraint

Crystal's dad did not file any charges. He filed a sworn affidavit in the custody case. The judge did not believe him since he left the custody with Ronald L. Cummings.

He is a convicted felon as is his ex-wife, Marie Sheffield Griffis and she too spoke at the custody. Some "cousin" Candice, didn't show up.

That's what NG reported. She was taken the day she fell and then again about 6 days later. The 2nd time they did a catscan and did not find any problems. The lawyer said she had ecoli/salmonella and that is not required to be reported. That was her excuse for LE not reporting it to DFCS. JMO

Crystal seemed to be fine with talking to Haleigh at TWO WEEK INTERVALS from her comfort stating that in the beginning. IT seems that when jaws started dropping, it was at that time Ron became the BOOGIE MAN from parts unknown and she started this show to divert attention from her and the facts that were coming out about her life IMO.

Even Ron's propensity for teenage dates couldn't top a mother who walks out on her children and starts a new life with a new man and a new child IMO. People were aghast when she started making her wild accusations, then back pedaling leaving them with the truth. IF he was so bad, why didn't she take her children? I think this is possible because Crystal had already reported what she saw to DCF and their investigation apparently did not warrant removal of the children from the home. At that time, DCF probably did not have all the input they apparently have at this time from many other people.

Black eyes don't develop instantly. If the fall happened in the afternoon the school nurse might not have even seen it.

Something could have happened to Haleigh before Ron left for work, and then they came up with the story about her being taken in the middle of the night.

I am not saying this is what happened, but this may be why Ron is still not cleared. Just because Misty said she noticed Haleigh missing at 3:00 a.m., doesn't mean that it actually happened. IMO

This is JMO, but LE verified that Ron went to work and clocked in and out and came home... but maybe they can't verify yet that he was AT work the entire shift, or didn't come home earlier than he says. On some jobs, they sign timesheets... no time clock.

IIRC NG said she was a pediatric nurse. She of all people should know that she is required to report abuse. I don't know if the requirement is if you suspect it in connection with your job and if it applies to anytime that you suspect it. JMO

You are correct.. I'm from the South and most parents nowadays don't spank their kids at all, they give time outs. And most DCF or CPS workers do not recommend any corporal punishment.. they say there are other ways to correct a child rather than spanking, because it teaches children that hitting someone is okay.

If all these locals are telling (via in person and phone) about what they think is abuse of Haleigh at the hands of Ron, then I would think they also told LE about it when Haleigh first went missing.

LE has said in the last few days that they cannot investigate that abuse without DCF initiating the investigation.

You do realize she fell from the MONKEY BARS on the playground right?

I know my son fell from halfway up a slide on a Pool/PLAYGROUND area and took stitches around the mouth, required follow-up plastic surgery and had no injury on his knees or hands. I guess we should be grateful there were so many people there who saw that heartbreaking fall. :sad: JMO

She fell from the monkey bars so maybe she did fall face first. Maybe she hit her face on part of the monkey bar structure. JMO

What exactly are Misti's inconsistencies?? I've heard them talked about over and overbut never heard any out of her mouth. LE must have some we don't know about or else they're just clueless and are forced to go back to the last person who saw her (I hope not).
