It's hoped that when & if a new district atty is elected in Centre County that the individual will look deeper into the investigation of Gricar's disappearance.

I'm really curious how current employees (including assistant DA's) might feel about that, as hopefully, more scrutiny will be directed toward them if the investigation is ramped up a notch.

Right now the unofficial well-wisher count is about 6 to 1 in favor of Stacy Parks Miller (admittedly a bit unfair since it is early and I have not seen JKA's campaign website yet).

There may very well be personnel changes next year, but it is far too early to tell who, if anyone, might want to pack their suitcase (look for other employment)...paramours included (I got that Pgal). I was disappointed that no Rep. attorney in CC had the gumption to run against MM...since I have viewed the office as being essentially vacant since April 2005.

Believe it or not, I really wasn't just thinking about PF....

I'm especially curious about Sloane in particular.

Only 27 days until 4 years will have passed since Ray Gricar was last seen & positively identified. That's a long time.

I am not a PA voter but, if I were, I'd vote for the candidate for DA who has shown the most interest in Ray Gricar, the candidate who knew Ray Gricar the longest, the candidate whom I believe would at least try to look into Ray Gricar's disappearance; that would be J. Karen Arnold. Ms. Arnold's Magnificent Manuscript was proof enough for me to know she would do whatever she could to find out what happened to Mr. Gricar. I don't recall hearing that much about Mr. Gricar from the other candidates.

This is my opinion, to which I am entitled.

Actually, except for her Googlepages, there has been nothing from JKA. She did not raise the issue during her last campaign; so far, she has not raised in this one. She has declined to call for a grand jury. She has declined to speak to the press about the matter.

Good, LW.

I've been trying to find out when RG's disappearance was first reported in the media. Thus far, I have found the following, while waiting on replies from several others in your area.

Saturday, 04/16/05, PoliceOne.com
Sunday, 04/17/05, Centre Daily Times (I think you saw this!)
Sunday, 04/17/05, News Max
Monday, 04/18/05, Associated Press
Monday, 04/18/05, USA Today
Monday, 04/18/05, SignOnSanDiego.com
Monday, 04/18/05, New York Sun

Do you happen to remember when the reward was first announced?

There was an article in the CDT on April 17th 2005 a sunday stating that BJL was found dead in his car early that morning and that they had determined that Ray's dissapearance had nothing to do with BJL's death or vice versa you know what I mean. Boy those cops sure work quickly at clearing people and really getting to the bottom of things! So they must have cleared him in like 15 minutes. I believe they got their info from JL who is a highly reliable source ...yes I am being facetious! And who.....in all actuality could be the culprit. Great job guys!

Speaking of politics and such I found this to be enlightening. I also wonder if RG was unto this:

Politico.com reported Wednesday that in recent years Murtha obtained millions in earmarks for Penn State University’s Electro-Optical Center (EOC), which then rerouted the money to clients of PMA Group, a military-oriented lobbying firm that has close ties with Murtha. http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/murtha_earmarks/2009/03/11/190945.html

Thanks for coming up with the start of a list for us, GS. I'm particularly interested in any media or online coverage in relation to when the alleged witnesses in the alleged sightings in Lewisburg were questioned.

The reward was offered on 4/20 or 4/21; the report was 4/21. http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archive/2005/04/04-21-05tdc/04-21-05dnews-10.asp

It depends what and where you are looking for the media announcement. In Lewisburg, there was no story as of the morning of 4/17/05. I'm not sure if the 4/18 press conference was on the Noon News (if any) in Wilkes-Barre. From the timing, it wasn't.

"Media market" doesn't have the same connotation today that it used to have, what with internet access. Anybody in the Lewisburg area would be able to access anything that appeared on any Centre County based website. We've never had satellite TV, so I'm not sure how all that works, but I know I've heard people talk about picking up "wild feeds" on their satellite dishes. Don't know if that means they can pick up things which aren't in their local media markets or not.
