Well well, our friends at Fox News are at it again:

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2009/3/16/707027/-And-I-honestly-didn

Is honesty a hard thing for them? To take something Biden said months again mocking McCain, slice the tape up and attribute it to something Biden said over the weekend is pure BS.

And some here swear by Fox News as an honest source of news. Despicable.

Fox is dispicable, but more importantly it's owner is dispicable. He has a definite political RW agenda, and he uses Fox to try and further it!!! They make me sick, and I never watch that channel anymore.

They had a story about Ducey on KO tonight. Seems he doesn't know the difference between Hugo Chavez, and Cesar Chavez.

imo

One morning I couldn't sleep and flipped through and saw Fox and Friends and after 5 minutes of Ducey I had lost a few brain cells. Not the brightest candle on the cake for sure.

Hey it's cable: they call it "entertainment" It's disgusting. Same with CNN and soft interview of Cheney with no follow ups, or other side to challenge what he said: Republicans are the sorest losers ever, all about party, not country.

Why would anyone trust a thing they heard on Fox News. The above is yet another example of why they went to court.
They are not interested in accuracy or truth, that is more than obvious.

That is really unbelievable. Fox News has crossed all lines. It is hard to believe that they did that, but they did. Worth watching the video and then reading what they did. Shocking. Below are two links on that.

Len, is the Obama Administration going to refute this? And do you think there would be any repercussions if they do? Shameful that they did this, but then again it is Fox...

FOX did not lie in the legal sense of the word. They fabricated the news to fit their agenda. This is their perfect legal right to do so, as our courts said that they do not have to tell the truth.

Just My Humble Opinion.

I honestly don't think I will be opening a link to dailykos and be considering it as factual and true either.
I find them to be left-wing bottom feeders with their own agenda.
moo

FOX is known to fabricate.....check this out...and then report back.

Fox has now apologized for the spliced together, old Biden clip. Just how anyone could claim it was inadvertent is beyond me.

Martha MacCallum, co-anchor of the Fox News program "The Live Desk," apologized today after Fox News "inadvertently" used a six-month-old clip of Joe Biden talking about the economy.

"We inadvertently used a piece of video of Vice-President Biden saying the 'fundamentals of the economy are strong'," she said.

"This video was from the campaign trail, when the vice-president was a candidate, and was actually quoting Senator John McCain."

So what else is new from the media that got permission from the court to lie.

Just how did this get done inadvertently? They tried to get away with something, again, and when caught red handed they apologize and claim it was inadvertent. More of the same old same old.

And then they claim they are fair and balanced?

And then they claim they are fair and balanced? Since that clip was during the campaign they would have had to dig in their files looking for it to 'inadvertenly' air it claiming he just said that. They could fertilize the entire corn belt with all their bull.

Dang! Too bad you put Fox news in the title, now we can expect this to go to media or entertainment.

I wonder if they corrected this on the air...anybody know?

Yes, I put a link over on the other thread on the media board. Which is where I'm sure this will get sent in the near future. They did apologize on air, for what little that is worth.

This is why you can never take a youtube as proof of anything. It's just too darn easy to edit them and make them say something exactly the opposite of what a person means.

Of course I did take the original macaca video at face value. LOL

They did, well... I'm surprised. I guess this got just a little too much publicity for them to squelch it. I'm sure glad there are people watching them.

I wonder if Sean Hannity will apologize tonight...doubt it.

Will Sean Hannity mention it? Hmmmmm.... probably not. But, Keith Olberman will!
Can't wait for tonight's Worst Person in the World.

Yes, there is nothing inadvertent about that!!! It was done purposely! IMO

I agree with you and once the bell is rung as they sayFox got out the message it wanted to and many of its followers ran with it. The apology or I made a mistake often doesn't matter much. Thta's my take anyway.

That is true, I agree! What is becoming apparent to the informed and thinking people is that so many lies and half truths are thrown out there by Fox that people refuse to duped any longer. Fox thought they could run with it because it's worked in the past. Nevermore!

Fox thought they could run with it because it's worked in the past. Nevermore! Dan Rather's entire career was wrecked when he reported information he thought was true - that could not be fully verified (personally I still think it was true): but these people don't even pretend to try to get it right. THey just out and out make a story up. Is anyone's career ruined over there? Or does everyone just say "oh well that is just FAUX - its just entertainment news".
Hope Jon Stewart is on this tonight. That would be fun.

Checking cable news rating, Fox is ahead of every other cable news media by at least double and sometimes triple the next closest competiter CNN. MSNBC is almost out of the race.

(1) I don't see any backup or link here to your claim..

(2) Even if true, which I doubt, it does not address the veracity of FOX.

Sometimes I watch FOX just to count the number of lies on a given day!

This is, of course, standard method of operation for fox news. To create a falsely percieved leftwing view and then elaborate how rediculous and backwards the perception is. Nevermind the actual fabrication in the story. There will always be a small lie in every big lie.

But here is the dilemma. Competing networks really cant go after fox news without actually discrediting themselves by exposing a network as operating under the premise that a news program can simply be entertainment so all Americans understand. It would discredit the reputation of all news networks, even the most reliable of sources.

makes me think of: in my high school, the smartest student and the most popular were almost never the same person.

Even FOX execs refer to their "news" show as entertainment, but lots of gullible people still watch it thinking its real. How about we insist they spell it "FOX NOOZ" or something else, or put a disclaimer at the beginning warning people that the "news" they show isn't necessarily real news?
FOX even went to court about 4 or 5 years to win the right to continue having falsehoods on their "news" show. Turns out there is no legal requirement to be truthful, just a general expectation, so its strictly buyer beware in the news consumer market.
