Sean Hannity doesn't understand much about health care, and why should he? Disease has always existed, yet AMERICA has endured! Doesn't that mean that universal health care is just unnecessary? Hannity calls to mind a simpler time, where men were men, and women were respectful, and people with scarlet fever and tuberculosis had the decency to say, "No, no! Let me just quietly die in this alley! I don't want to be a part of some depressing set of statistics!"

Fox News Senior Political Analyst Bob Beckel, on the other hand, thinks that health care is "a right," and so he gamely argued for it on Sean Hannity's radio show, which our Media Monitor Cathy Talbot listened to, so you don't have to. During the discussion, she heard something ironic!

HANNITY: I'm on the Fox Plan and the AFTRA Plan. I have no clue what insurance I have. I don't have a special health care plan! I have the same plan that you do.

BECKEL: No you don't. I don't have a health insurance plan.

HANNITY: You work for FOX, you're on the FOX plan.

BECKEL: I don't qualify for the Fox plan, because I have a pre-existing condition.

And then, Hannity made light of people with pre-existing conditions, curing them all with ridicule, the best medicine.

By the way, the AFTRA Plan? That refers to the health benefits extended by being a member of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, a union. It's a pretty special health care plan, for millionaire infotainers.

The p*nk is a union guy! Whodathunkit?

My son was in a commercial once. The told me that if he was in another commercial, he would have to join a union. He was 3 at the time. LOL. So, I think it is mandatory.

The AFTRA Health & Retirement Funds are a separate entity from the union. Please direct your questions about health and retirement benefits to AFTRA H&R and click here to visit the AFTRA Health & Retirement home page.

wow, so fox doesn't give him good enough insurance, so he has to buy a second insurance plan, wonder how much that costs him - and fox plan doesn't cover all it's employees, amazing..... and republicans wonder why we need a universal health care policy in this country

No one said "funny post." So I'm saying it.

Funny post.

And truthful.

That might be the case, but one must still be a member of the UNION to qualify for benefits.

"Member Benefits

AFTRA supports the welfare of its members through benefits and programs sponsored or supported by the union. AFTRA was the first industry union to establish employer-paid health and retirement plans for members and their dependents that qualify. The Health Fund provides comprehensive medical and hospital benefits, a dental plan, prescription drug program, and mental health and substance abuse programs. The Retirement Fund is portable, so that wherever members work under an AFTRA contract -- whether on a television or radio program, a sound recording, commercial or industrial show -- employer contributions are made on their behalf. For more detailed information about the AFTRA Health & Retirement Funds, visit www.aftrahr.com."
(Emphasis above is mine - DD)

So Hannity hates unions, but is willing to accept benefits from them that are paid by his employer(s). Why can't he look out for his own welfare? I never needed any union. I paid my own way!

I wonder if rush is a union guy, also.... It would be a hoot to find out that he is!

Thanks for the links! They were very informative!

amazing isn't it
