That's just the way I feel. I thought when Jr. joined the Hendricks' stable with Jimmie and Jeff et al,that he'd finally be able to blossom.

Four-time NASCAR champ Johnson is AP's top athlete

There was little recognition outside the racing world when Jimmie Johnson won his first NASCAR championship.

Same with his second, and again with his third.

But four straight championships? That's a different story.

Johnson, the first driver in NASCAR history to win four consecutive titles, earned mainstream recognition Monday when he was honored as the Male Athlete of the Year by members of The Associated Press.

Johnson received 42 votes from editors at U.S. newspapers which are members of the AP. Tennis star Roger Federer (30 votes) and Olympic sprinter Usain Bolt (29) were the only other athletes with totals in the double digits.

Howdy! I'd take JJ as my co-pilot any day! I'm just wondering if Danica really thinks she can "play with the big boyz". I do believe she's in for a rude awakening in Cup Series. We'll see how long she lasts. Hope you have a Merry X-Mas! Vroom-Vroom!

I wasn't saying they were "bad", give me NASCAR, F1, Midgets, Monsters, ovals, dirt tracks, road course, not every racer fits into certain track events. IMO, Danica is a misfit in Cup without getting her feet wet in NW first. Almost comparable to some posters on mesage boards. Have a good one!

RCR crew member dies of H1N1 complications

"Donald “DJ” Richardson died late Friday after a lengthy hospitalization for acute respiratory distress syndrome. Richardson contracted H1N1 during a Thanksgiving visit to his home state of Massachusetts, and team officials say he had been hospitalized at Health Alliance Hospital in Leominster the entire time.

The 37-year-old Richardson spent last season as a tire changer on Kevin Harvick’s crew."
