Gordon 'happy' with back so far

Jeff Gordon found himself thinking about his back instead of his car. After hours of agony behind the wheel at Bristol Motor Speedway in March, Gordon wondered how much longer he could fight the pain.

"If my back was the way it was at Bristol this year, it's definitely going to shorten my career," Gordon said Thursday. "I can't race like that."

The Sprint Cup points leader began a series of tests, which revealed minor arthritis and other issues. That led to a procedure on Monday that called for an injection of lidocaine or anti-inflammatory medication.

ITA I am holding out for it to play out in the courts if so be and you are correct about putting meds behind the counter even though you do not need a prescription and some places you can only get so many a year and sign it and show a licences so I will see how it plays out before I Judge...

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Reigning NASCAR Truck champion Johnny Benson is in serious but stable condition after a fiery crash during a supermodified race.

BensonThe driver was starting his second lap when he collided with another car on Saturday night at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Mich. His car slammed into the wall and erupted into flames.

I have been non-stop football (high school son) and haven't even been able to watch many races this season but cha'll know where my heart lies and who I hope wins ;)

It's the cooking process that changes one molecule in the pseudoephedrine into methamphetamine. They are two different drugs after the cooking process and will not be confused in a drug test.

Infineon Raceway officials say they will honor four fallen officers from the Oakland Police Department at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Four motorcycle units from the Oakland Police Department will lead the 43-car field around the 10-turn, 1.99-mile road course before the start of the race on Sunday.

In addition, Davina Kelly, who works in the department, will sing the national anthem on Sunday.
