Coldwater suggested I post this here as she wants to keep the Lauterbach board closed until Laurean returns.
Here are 2 new updates:
"Investigation postponed in Marine Corps' handling of Lauterbach rape case"

At long last thank goodness! Now I hope they are also building a good case against his wife. I don't believe that she is innocent - or that she was not involved.

i think DA Dewey painted himself into a corner on this one. I think it will be easy for Cesar's atty to point out the possibility that it was Christina. I want justice to be served, but I'm a realist.

Laurean's wife, Christina Laurean, who just returned from a period of leave from the Marine Corps, which included a trip to Mexico, declined to comment on her husband's return.
"No thank you," she told a Daily News reporter who reached her by phone

I open separate thread for Christina as we know there are issues we have to discuss about her actions and we can have this board rolling.
So did Christina visited Cesar when she made that trip to Mexico?
How could she do all o these after everything he did to her? Love? Oppps i dont now about it... IMO am not that crazy...:w00t:
I want to hear more about this "cooperating witness" IMO

Accused Marine back in Onslow County
Posted: Apr. 17, 2009
Updated: Today at 6:24 a.m.
Jacksonville, N.C. — A Camp Lejeune Marine charged with killing a pregnant comrade returned to Onslow County on Friday, representatives with the sheriff’s office said.
Cpl. Cesar Laurean was booked around 9 p.m. inti the Onslow County Jail. He was being held without bond.
Laurean arrived back in the U.S. earlier Friday, a year after an international manhunt led to his arrest in Mexico.
Laurean was charged with first-degree murder in the December 2007 death of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, whose charred remains were found a month later in a shallow grave behind his Jacksonville home.

. Here is what concerns me about Christina.
http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/3906309/
Dewy Hudson:
"I do not know what impact Christina Laurean's decision to travel to Mexico to visit her husband will have on her willingness to continue to cooperate with the proper authorities," he said. "I cannot compel her (to testify). She's a spouse."
If Christina decides not to testify, I feel it will impact the state's case greatly. I want Cesar in jail for the rest of his life for what he did.

IF Christina doesn't testify for the state, IMO it'll be a red flag to the jury that she's hiding something. Now, if Cesar doesn't testify they can't hold it against him, but Christina's a different story.
In any event, she CAN be subpeoned by the defense and more than likely treated as a hostile witness, but she will have to explain her actions.
BTW, does this make two trips to Mexico? One last fall and one right before he was extradited?

I think two trips. It sounds like that to me. I will wash my hands of her if she doesn't testify.

I agree with you, crymeariver! Actually, I have always thought Christina was hiding plenty!
*****No idea why your post is butchered in my reply!!!
Seems like there must have been 2 trips to Mexico for Christina.
I am so looking forward to hearing some real facts at the trial.
(I got a new rug, cryme!) :seeya:

looks like two trips.. one last fall and the last one is from a recent leave in the military and the news said she just returned from it.
