I didn't know where to put this since most of the threads have disappeared. This has to do with NOT speaking English and the problems this can cause:

Read the last paragraph. Since no nationality is mentioned, it's more of a general statement - that LE can't begin to have a translator on call to help in situations like these when there are so many languages and so many nationalities represented in our country.

So what if they don't speak English? That's a given when most immigrants are moving here. If the government can spend millions on a useless war and sending missles into outer space, surely they can afford translators to help these people.

Good plan. How many different languages should be represented to ride along in all squard cars to cover any possible language they may encounter? And you want to pay for these? Do you expect to go to any country and the LA in there should have translators with them at all times to accomadate you? And how does money spent in any other way justify this cost? Or do you just like to ramble out in support of anyone that does not have the curtousy to learn the common language in a country they are trying to come to, legally or not?

ITA. How many people need to be employed speaking how many different languages? One would think if someone wants to be American, they would at least attempt to assimilate a little bit.
