Here is an article from todays New York Times about kidnappings (and other crimes) that occur in Mexico and the victims are tapping their relatives in the US to procure their release.

Here is an interesting article in todays' NYT. It outlines a plan to protect our borders at the time when a drug war would "spill" over:

But, hey, where is everybody? I feel lonesome

Here's a Fox article on the same topic:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,479088,00.html

This is intersting:

In the last year, more than 5,000 people have been killed and police and military officials have become common targets for violent drug cartels who are fighting with each other and the government for control of lucrative drug and human smuggling routes across Mexico.

More than one-fifth of the deaths have occurred in Ciudad Juarez, the hardscrabble border city just across the Rio Grande from El Paso.

With approx. 30,000,000. illegals in this country, living on welfare, social services, schools, overloading the criminal justice system, and people wonder why California is up to their eyeballs in debt and want to be bailed out. What do they contribute, they take jobs from Americans and now they want amnesty. Start deporting them.

Don't believe everything the media portrays. CA is fine. The Golden Gate bridge is still golden, the reknowned vineyards are still producing great wine, and the movie industry is flourishing. Once Arnold is removed, so will the problems.

Who really cares about people making a new life for themsleves?
If there are no immigrants who will do the work none of us wants to do?
Are you willing to accept a menial job for 8.50 an hour?Yep. If the economy gets any worse. And, I knew people before the ecomony got so bad that would willingly work in lower paying jobs. Not everyone, mind you but, they are not only taking just the bottom rung jobs. They are moving into the skilled trades, medical, clerical (big time), every facet of life and so many of them are illegal. Its a fact, get out and talk to people, open your eyes and look around you. Get in line if you want to come to this country.

I have worked more than one "menial" low paying job to pay my way through school and take care of my kiddos after my first marriage ended rather badly.
I would love for you to show all of us a man or a woman who has hungry kids to feed and refuses a so called "menial" job when it is all that is avaliable.
