Hey texski did you follow the Laci/Scott Peterson story?
Very tragic story.
When I saw the lady in the photo in the above link I thought of the events that took place here on this message board. Her red hair reminded me of a lady that use to post on this message board. She was smart and boy did she have spunk. I don't think it is the same lady but her hair color reminded me of Katie.
This message board was just swamped with posters. People from all over came here to follow the story.
Anyway there were two ladies Katie and Jordy who actually went into the courtroom and reported "live" from the courtroom. It was awesome!!
Their little fingers were typing away on their laptops. And we got the info.
I kid you not when I tell you those two girls had many a people on the edge of their chairs leaning into their screens for more info to appear. Myself included.
Coldwater couldn't get paid enough for her job. It was crazy. Crazy but almost a good kinda crazy. So many people wanting justice. So many strangers that met on a message board that all had the same interest.
Those two girls kicked butt in such a good way. And so did the many posters that were here. Truly awesome.
Funny what things trigger those memories on a shelf in the back. Wow!!
Who knows... maybe this lady has just as much spunk.
Did you see all the other stuff that follows that first link?

I didn't get to see Oprah today but my husband did. His words were it was nothing but a big snow job and it was fairly obvious that all kids interviewed were coached on what to say. So I guess I saved some aggrevation and one flat screen from going in the garbage.
On the issue of the 17 year old if it is decided that she needs a psych eval it might be more enlightening then making her sit in a cell. Also I have to wonder if she even knows where her baby is. The way the babies are switched around it would not surprise me if she does not know where the child is.
I cannot even imagine living this type of life.
jmoo
Hi Grammy
I understand what you are saying about having the eval. But a night in the slammer for defying the laws wouldn't hurt her. She wouldn't be the first 17 year old girl thrown in jail for breaking the law.
I live in a small town and I believe some of these kids sit in jail overnight or a couple of days until certain testing is done. They are then taken to a site for kids.
What does Texas do with the other kids that break the law? Should she be treated any different?
What would she have done if the authorities had taken that other baby?
Those that allowed the switch should also be sitting behind bars.
Warren was in jail when this all took place.

It was just unbelievable. I was so excited about being able to witness history being made. I don't think that it ever happened before and if it has happened since, I don't know about it because I've been here since the Mark Hacking case.
Nancy Grace was non stop and people were full of energy.
Coldwater did a fantastic job trying to keep everything going.
With everything combined it made us Average Joes feel like we were doing something to help.
InSessions aka Courttv message board broke the mold. imo

If the trials are in Texas I think cameras will be allowed inside.
If any trials happen in Utah or Arizona I think they will be controlled to some extent. Something happened on the day of sentencing that brought about No cameras. What I don't know. I am still trying to find out. Judge Shumate was one of the good Judges so it had to have been major imo.
I've been working lots and I think if I know ahead of time I think I would like to go watch the ones in Texas. I am thinking November some time.
Utah might be kind of dangerous for me. I might end up in a cell across from Wally with both of us singing the Amen song from Lillies of the Field. j/k Tis a joke Wally.

I feel like this kid is going to be thrown under the bus, mainly cause she's a she, I don't know why but I do.
Maybe, just maybe, if she get's to spend time in jail, she'll see that she has a right to her own child?
And she'll have someone that will teach her that Warren is not in charge of her life :(

Four years ago there was a poster here named Senora. She gave me a link to a story about a young girl who at the age of 12 was looking out a window and was thinking about her future.
It went something like this. (I really wish that I had saved the link.)
At age 12 she was looking out her bedroom window thinking about her future. Yesterday she was a little girl thinking about playing and doing what all 12 year old girls were doing.
Today she was thinking about the man she was about to marry. From being pushed on a swing to being pushed into marriage. A lifetime of having babies and cleaning house.
What a future. She felt as if the life had been sucked out of her. At age 12. She had no options. She had no where to turn.
She couldn't object. She couldn't voice her opinion. She couldn't run. She couldn't hide.
This 12 year old was put into a different kind of jail cell.
The 17 year old if put into jail will be able to make her own decisions at that point. She needs the room to think for herself. She needs to fend for herself. She will be appointed a lawyer. The LE in Texas will make sure she is ok. This I know deep in my gut.
Hey Senora if your out there... Thanks.

i wonder if these girls are mentally capable of making decisions anymore. long term conditioning to believe a certain way would be very difficult for a young girl to put aside. and i do believe that many of these youngsters are not very intelligent due to such long time imbreeding
what would someone with a mental health background think about changing these young peoples outlook???? i am thinking of the girl named betty , carolyn jessups doughter, who returned to the group, after being given her choice.
if we dont get them young enough, can we get thru to them at all???
i really, really, hope i am wrong.

Arizona Court Defers to Texas
Judge Conn is not going to hear arguments on the admissibility of evidence seized under two Texas search warrants until the Texas District Court rules on it.

Arizona judge may rule if evidence in FLDS case is legal
http://deseretnews.com/article/1,5143,705280896,00.html
It would appear that both parties are now acknowledging that the defense motion to suppress evidence seized in the Texas search will have to be ruled on," Conn wrote, adding that it is unlikely the court could rule on whether Texas law enforcement exceeded the scope of their search warrant without having evidence presented in a hearing on the scope of the actual search of the FLDS property.

:seeya:grammy,
to quote you,
When people turn their whole lives, body, mind and soul over to one person they depend on this one person to tell them how to live their life.
In religion you do that with God.
I don't understand how people turn their lives over to another human being, just as fallible as the next human being

please tell your hubby from me, that those of us who read this message board think you are a wonderful person and a credit to your religion that should be a lesson to us all.

I understand why Warren did the things he did. But I don't understand why some people just allowed this to go on.
One day when those children grow up and begin to ask questions they will be able to seek out some of their answers by seeing those transcripts.

Hi julie and everyone,
I got behind during the holidays and felt I would never catch up with all you smart peeps, but did want to know what was currently happening. Reading the link (and some of the ignorant comments) reminds me how upset I used to get over the FLDS.
Justice moves slowly but hopefully Judge Walther and TX will "play hardball," as I read. It is such a shame that Teresa is being manipulated by grown men and may have to go to jail because of it -- IF she is ever found. They could be hiding her in Canada or Mexico.

UPDATED CPS Case Opened on Teresa's Son?
If Brooke Adams blog is correct, CPS non-suited Teresa Steed and immediately opened a case on her baby, based on Teresa's failure to protect the child.
If she was paranoid before, I imagine that she is really stressing out now. Of course, this is all based on her defiance of the court, of CPS, and of law enforcement.

Julie I don't understand the whole copyright thing. Coldwater had some stuff up earlier on another thread so I've been tippy toeying, crossing my fingers and holding a stuffed rabbit. ( Can't bring my self to holding just parts of rabbit).
I thought as long as you name who wrote it and a small paragraph a person would be ok. And as long as the person providing it isn't making money off of it. But who knows anymore.
All it takes is one person who probably needs therapy and a lawyer who wants to make a name and a $ and it could be courtroom drama for a poster who wants to share.
I think it would be worse if I tried to interpret the story. My words could kill it for the writer. D'd if you do and D'd if you don't.

will read more later.
people magazine has a short piece on the internet about the story it will have in this fridays mag. it is following the wives and children who were in the texas raid. from the short piece i just read, it sounds too much like a puff piece, we are all well and happy and want to be left alone, bit. a lot like the oprah stuff, no read reporting. just fluff. im my opinion

i am very poor at math. but could not the numbers of too many children dying in one town be caused somewhat by the fact that they have so many children in each household? and could it be also because of all the inbreeding??? also since they have more children than they can watch they seem to put the younger girls in charge and that could cause more accidents. the worn out women having children so close together may also make more dying.
i do think there are way too many , but there are some other factors to put in place. i think a computer geek could put in all these variables and then see how many more deaths than the normal.
yes, the cemetery is so sad, and i hope that some charges and/or changes can be coming, these people sound so great.

And the FEMA trailers you've seen on TV....Just for the record...they look very nice from the outside, but, they are maybe the size of your garage...actually I think they look just a smidge bigger that a half of my 2 car garage, and how many people lived in the home that was lost?

I don't know Grammy. Ruth has a lot of character. She would shine thru no matter if she were dressed like Waldo and in the backdrop of a Waldo picture. You'd still be able to pick out Ruth.
I really liked the video Texas-SE provided.
Years ago all the nuns dressed the same. Even the Priests back then wore their robes out in Public. When we were little Mom would snap us kids to attention and tell us kids to behave.
But some of their personalities would also shine thru. Father John became known as Bicycle John. Rode his bike all over town.
Sister Caroline would give you a look that made you want to melt into the sidewalk and Sister Mary had a smile that drew you in.
Funny what memories lurk in the back of ones busy head.

I've been working on spreadsheets for about 3 weeks and my head is spinning from things of which I know. But I think if someone put the info on a spreadsheet they might be able to break it down some.
When I was looking over the info I found it interesting that some of the deaths and causes are still pending. Why??
I also tried finding some of the info on the net and I just don't have enough time right now to do the major google dance but some of those deaths seem rather strange. jmo
Grammy if you notice there are some deaths of children drowning. Is there a lake near by?
When the one child was attacked by dogs Warren ordered all the dogs removed.
Did Warren also give a speech on Safety? Tell people to Buckle up their kids? Not to let their children play in the streets?
Why did Fred Jessop tell the coroner to list the one death as "Natural Causes" ? Who is Fred Jessop to tell the coroner what to do? And did the coroner do as he was told?
Why are we still asking questions about this?

No they aren't very big but they are only suppose to be temporary housing. But they sure are nice when you've been living in a college dorm or someones garage for a few months.

the rules on clothing and hair styles are made up by the men so the women have no choices. this is the first thing to break down any individuals sense of self, you can be exchanged at will with any other woman as you are not a single person, but just a member of the breeding stock. i read that many of the women have mental problems, they are probably the ones who have not been able to make themselves into a non person. just in my opinion, of course.
