I cannot believe that even the bozos who had guns aren't going to jail. That's garbage. I don't care how much they cooperated. Judge Glass needs her head examined.
I can't believe this is shocking to anyone.
You go after the ring leader and let the fish go. Whether it be robbery, murder for hire Drug Cartel. The guys beneath or hired by the guy in charge if they cooperate ALWAYS or almost always get deals.
A guy that shoots someone gets less time then the planner or the one who hired them.
Drug dealers same thing, they want to know who they're selling for - deal is cut.
What's shocking is that this shocks anyone and acting like this is a one time thing because it's OJ.

I agree with you, I do believe that OJ commited a crime 12 years ago, however this was no more than a payback, they could not convict him the first time so the convict him on something like this. Unbelievable...our court systems are so screwed up, while almost all of the co-defendents had a criminal past..I sure am aware of laws in place if you have a gun and you 1. pose a threat to harm and or threaten someone with that gun..YOU GO TO JAIL you do not get probation. I respect all judges and I would not like to hold there position but give me a break they are to uphold the law for the sake of the people.

Poor, poor Stewart. He had no criminal past. To my knowledge, he didn't know what was going on. He was one of Scottos friends. He was helping out at the wedding, getting things ready and was asked to help OJ carry stuff. I might be wrong. But I know he didn't have a record and he didn't have a gun. And maybe not a good attorney.
Poor Stewart.

Poor Stewart.
He was OJ's friend not Scotto. Everything he did was in helping OJ or OJ asked him to do it.

huh, Stewart was no friend of Scotto's. He was OJs friend. Helping with the wedding? Where did you get that from?
I heard him say he was helping with getting the marriage license and the wedding ready. I couldn't remember the whole trial and didn't watch all of the testimony. Sorry.
However, considerinmg the others got probation, do you feel Stewart should have received the same time OJ got?

Stewart refused to cooperate, which means he was helping to hide the crime. He was the one Fromong said manhandled him. And he was part of the planning and organization, and recruited some of the muscle himself. So, I do see him as more guilty than these other guys.

Stewart was called upon because he was OJ's friend and knew Vegas as he lived there.
I have to agree with Details regarding why Stewart was sentenced the way he was.

Aha! Boy was I wrong! And I apologize. Thank you for setting me straight. That will teach me to open my mouth when I didn't hear everything! Lesson learned! No more hammers!

LOL This had so many twists and turns and players. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's not over. Only the tip of the iceburg. More to come especially finding out who owns that property and where it came from.

Holy Mackinaw..Did I miss something or what??Had to work and was leaving house when Beth came on to TV..Yikes....The only one I find at all mystifying is McClinton..he should have known better to bringing guns into a mix like this!! However..his cooperation and tapes did help in the case against Simpson and Stewart..so thats how it got balanced out????
Hopefully they will do a blurb on it on Insession tomorrow..any links to Utubes of this sentencing out there??

There's a cnn link under the case that keeps giving thread regarding today's happenings. I haven't seen any video up yet. I missed the first half of todays trial also. I was somewhat surprised to see Mclinton get off the way he did. I thought for sure he was going to be sent up for a year minimum. Pros must carry a lot of weight over there.

Thanks JBL...I will look that up.. BTW..the trial that is on Insessions right now is a canned one..Scott Davis charged for murdering his x wife's boyfriend..some guy by the name of Steve Coffin..I saw it when it was live..but will not give up the outcome..It is really a good trial tho..lots of twists and turns..and it was a cold case..10 years to indict...Happy viewing!

I think their age also had something to do with it.
There's nothing more pathetic than a 60 (or so) year old inmate.
I really feel badly for Stewart.
imo I felt badly for Fromong today. He said he didn't know of the sentencings today until too late to file papers to speak. I'm sure he wanted to make sure Judge Glass knows that he was hurt and still isn't OK. He can't have his shoulder operated on now because of his heart. HE couldn't help jumping up and saying "Ya gotta be kidding" when he heard McClinton's sentence. He was ushered not just out of the courtroom, but out of the building entirely!

"Stewart watched Tuesday's proceeding from the jury box, along with other inmates."
:confused::confused:
What does that mean?

the only thing I can imagine it to be was the original info that there was going to be a restitution hearing after the sentencing?

I knew he wasn't transferred out of County Jail but never did I expect him to be in the jury box today!
Don't know what's up with that or why.
My guess is he requested to be there. Why it was granted is beyond me.

you're right of course -- I didn't take my thought process far enough. :blushing:
You know what I just remember that restitution hearing was supposed to be today. Stewart is the one who supposedly had some of the items along with Cashmore. I wonder if perhaps that's why?

I found this:
". . .SENTENCING HEARING
At the sentencing, the judge considers information and recommendations in the pre-sentence report, testimony from witnesses (in some cases), arguments by the attorneys, and sentencing laws and guidelines. Based on this information, the judge pronounces a sentence.
The victim has the right to appear in court and may address the court at this time. A victim impact statement should be submitted before the sentencing so that the judge can consider it. . ." http://www.mynevadacounty.com/da/index.cfm?ccs=649
seems a little ambiguous to me as to the word 'should' but maybe each court has it's own rules?

Interesting. I guess Fromongs "you've got to be kidding me" didn't fall within the victim impact guidelines. LOL.
I wonder if he had the opportunity and declined. I'm sure everyone thought the worst for these guys after OJ and Stewarts sentences.

You are very welcome. I hope Bruce's attorney is more on top of things when in comes to the restitution hearing. I'm sure he wants to be compensated for his injury -but if they make him get it from Stewart - who was the one who hurt his shoulder - he's out of luck again. Stewart is tapped out. Hope he can get what he needs from OJ.
