This law would allow hearsay evidence in a first degree murder trial if the pros could prove the defendant killed the witness to prevent testimony. The law had already been passed by IL senate.

Oh yes I do remember the Jensen case. I am all for this law if it will put killers away forever. I have thought for a long time that this should of happened. There are so many DV cases where the spouse, ex or whatever has ended up dying at the hands of their mate. I am just looking at it from all sides. I just don't want anyone accused for first degree murder getting by with just a slap on the hands. I think we may see this law being utilized in the near future. I just don't want someone getting off on a technicality.
Wasn't there a case in the news in the last few months that got off on not being able to confront his accuser.
jmooYes, Giles v California :seeya:

I don't see how this bill passed. Didn't they know about Giles?

My best friend just moved back home to CA from OK. When she got there her son's (FAR ESTRANGED) father caught wind of the situation and went to every friend and reletive she has in San Diego pressing them to tell him where she was. he also told them all (about 6 diffrent residence full) that when he found her he was going to kill her and beat her head in so bad it would takes weeks for anyone to id her body. His violence is why she moved so far away to begin with. After everyone called her and told her she called/went to the police. they said there was nothing they could do to him. No vpo...NOTHING until he made an effort to harm her physically. Would this law further protect her if she was in their state??
What state? Ill. ?

FYI: Over on the Amber Alerts forum here, there has been 3 bodies/remains found in Wisconsin. They have yet to identify the remains. :(
Could be related to this case or Stebic or not? Too early to tell, but it is interesting with these remote finds.

I just wish there was a law making it illegal for Drew Peterson to walk the earth. I know, I know...but, I can dream can't I?
