Dr. Michael Stone's new book, “The Anatomy of Evil”, includes a segment about Jessica Schwarz ("No One Can Hurt Him Anymore" by Carol J. Rothgeb).
It is set to be released July 28, 2009, and can be pre-ordered at Amazon....

I had the opportunity to read several of the chapters last summer and it is an amazing read!

Thanks for this! I always watched "Most Evil" whenever I could.....Dr. Stone is brilliant. Didn't know he was writing a book....IT'S ON MY LIST NOW!

You're welcome! :seeya:

He is an amazing man....
Brilliant, but very down to earth.... :)

Yes he is.....the way he describes the factors and clues that lead him to his diagnosis of the criminal on his scale of evil is very informative and makes a lot of sense to me. Personally, I think he is brave too.....I don't think I would be able to handle going to all those prisons and interviewing all those killers......gives me chills just thinking about it!! :seeya:

I consider it quite an honor that he has read both of my books!

He placed William Sapp (the serial killer in "Hometown Killer") at 18 on his scale....
That's as close as I've ever been to someone like that....
I sat in the gallery right behind the defense table during his trial....

I worked with a guy who ended up in prison for shooting a man in the back of the head, execution style, out in a field. You could have knocked me over with a feather.

I had actually given the murderer a ride home from a bar one time when we had a Christmas party and he got to drunk to drive.

You just never know. :( Evil is definately a master of disguise.

Wow! That is scary stuff!
Reminds me of Ann Rule working with Ted Bundy on a suicide hotline... :chicken:

I'm slightly confused......did you write the book that you originally mentioned at the start of this thread? What have you written? Have you ever met Dr. Stone?

Yes, I co-authored "No One Can Hurt Him Anymore" with Scott Cupp, the prosecutor in the case....

My first book was "Hometown Killer"....
Both true crime....

I have never met Dr. Stone in person, but we email fairly often....:)

Sorry about any confusion! :seeya:

Thanks for the heads up C.J.

I'll get it on order right away. I've watched all the Most Evil series. Stone is very astute.

Have you given any thoughts about a new book?

sounds like a good read. my former boss just came thru a capitol murder case up here in NH. he got LWOP which is what i was hoping for. that's the worst punishment he, being the snob that he is) could get, having to deal with "little people" & have them monitor his every move.

Oh, wow! I've never actually had the opportunity to talk with a real author! How cool! I read a lot of true crime books.....I think I'll go out and get a copy of your books.....who knows, maybe we can chat about the cases after I've read them. :seeya: If you get the chance to, please tell Dr. Stone that I appreciate all the work that he does.

Will do! :seeya:

Dr. Stone is great...

I am currently trying my hand at fiction...
A crime novel.....
It's real different than writing true crime.....
But it gives me a chance to use my imagination! :)

I'm going to put your books on my Christmas list. Let us know when your fiction is done, I bet I can speak for most here, you already have a bunch of buyers. :)

BTW I've watched all of the "Most Evil" episodes. Dr. Stone IS great!

PS: I stole a smiley from you, hope you don't mind.

CJ, I have both your books and I can say to anyone here, if you haven't read/bought them......... DO SO!!! They are great!

Make sure you have LOTS of tissues handy for "No One Can Hurt Him Anymore". I needed them by page 2.

I still think they should make a movie of it. And I STILL think the evil step mom looks like Kathy Bates.

(and I STILL haven't sent them to you for your autograph but I will someday, lol)

Good Luck on the new one (although I DO like the true crime books best).

I'll let everyone know about the new book....
It's a fairly new project right now...

Wow! Thank you! :)

Kathy Bates would be PERFECT as Jessica!

I understand about liking true crime the best....
I never thought I would be writing fiction (unless it was a children's book)....
It's definitely a new experience!

Exciting news!

Dr. Michael Stone's editor is going to send me the galleys of "Anatomy of Evil"!

Dr. Stone suggested to her that I would be a good person to send the manuscript to, for my comment and--if I feel so inclined--a blurb....
"Since you are in the front lines of those who know about the bad guys".....

I got goose bumps when I got his email!

I received my hardback copy of "The Anatomy of Evil" last Friday....
Not only is Jessica Schwarz featured in Chapter Eight....
"No One Can Hurt Him Anymore" is mentioned in Dr. Stone's notes...
And I am mentioned in the acknowledgments!
What an honor!!!

Also, they used the blurb I wrote about "The Anatomy of Evil" under "What People Are Saying" on the Barnes and Noble website....
