Not sure if you all are watching, but InSession is covering McClinton's testimony..He does look daper, he is not going on and on when he answers, and certainly not using the vocabulary we can hear on his tape..!!
Caldwell's testimony about tape of Criminalists at the room, I didnt find what they said offensive, or vindictive towards OJ. I didnt hear foul language, I didnt hear any covert plans to set up anybody, I didnt hear
any off color terms used and so on. I do find that Yale taking offense to any comments there disengenuous..OJ jokes are well known, and OJ relishes in the recognition by them!!

I, like you would just love for OJ to get on that stand, but alas (LOL) I doubt he will, there are just too many issues to explain, and his answers would be less than credible to me anyway. His testimony in the Civil Case proved to sink him for that jury!! It all depends on his ego ..will he or wont he want to do yet another acting job??

Oh, I really hope that Yale gets looked into following this trial..His hands are so dirty in OJ's dealings, I dont think a whole bottle of Purell will wipe the mud off him!!

Sorry couldn't help with the witness list. Guesses anyone?
What happened to the bail bondsman and his tape especially in light that the defense is calling Beardsley back that he was not "proded" into changing his testimony. Will that bailsbondsman now pop up with the tape that OJ was in fact trying to get a message to CJ. Basically to show OJ is not above trying to contact other witness's /defendants. He was returned to jail for that and had his bail doubled before he was again released.

Grasso starts the tape''revision'' explanaition by saying- ''for example, look on page 4 where it says- wait a minute, it is actually on page 3''!
MY COMMENT--WHEN GRASSO SAYS PAGE 4, LOOK ON PAGE 3, AND IF HE SAYS PAGE 3, LOOK ON PAGE (TBD) ???
This line of questioning is simply trying to raise doubt about who said what, obviously. Does it matter- or are the words the real deal, not the speaker??
Grasso has taken this to a new bore!

Frankly, I don't GET this trial at all. All the conspirators as well as OJ should be locked up. They were involved in a crime and deserve punishment. This trial shouldn't be about revenge, but obviously it is. People don't care about thug-on-thug violence. They do care about locking up OJ. Great, let's get OJ off the streets but not due to trumped up charges. Sorry, I know you'll be throwing tomatoes but this trial reeks. :flamemad:You say it over and over again - but Fromong is no thug, not a thing to say he is, and people do care about thug on thug violence. Because it never stops there, and having committed a crime in your past doesn't mean we should throw that person away.
And if they should all be locked up, why do you then call this trumped up charges?

What kept the either side from getting a voice-recognition done on any of these tapes??:shrug:I think you need a significant sample. They could say that it's OJ's voice on the tapes, McClinton's, Stewarts, etc. - but to say which line in a somewhat fuzzy tape, belongs to which speaker, I think might be not technically possible - at least not possible for an expert to say with any significant percentage of certainty. Defense attorneys would have a field day with that, asking what the normal required sample size is, how sure are they, etc. Better for the witnesses to just say this is or is not my voice.

I think McClinton's tape is an "Analogue" type and could not have been altered...unlike the Riccio tapes, which were digital, which were enhanced to get rid of background noise ( from the Palms poolside tape) but not much else could be done with these tapes.

AP senior reporter, Linda Deutsch, has got to be in her late 50's, probably 60's. She has covered famous trials back to Charles Manson, Patty Hearst, Sirhan Sirhan, etc.

I hesitate to say this, but whenever I listen to this attorney speak I'm reminded of Damon Wayan's character "Oswald" from "In Living Color" that always used big words incorrectly. It's the start and stop quality of his voice I think.
No No No Deutsch is short and stocky w short hair: looks her age. Prody looks like Nichole (if she let herself go, drank and did drugs daily).... older than her age.
There is a professional looking blond woman in a suit on the left (our left) of OJ's sister. I don't know who that is either - and Prody, I think, is on the other side - toward the inside isle.

Yes, Posey. And you're right, she is a reporter. Sorry, my brain is still in its weekend mode.
They'll take lunch as soon as this witness is finished with. I think the judge thought it was going to only be another 10-15 mins. Now we're up to 15mins. further than Judge Glass intended.

I'm watching on KTLA with Lonni and Marta.
Shall we provide an edited or movie version for Marta? She has been clearly bored by this whole trial, she whines as if she is a tired old lady, and her litany, day after day, is how tired the judge is, judge is getting grouchy, judge is fed up, judge is unprofessional, oh, it's Friday, Judge is tired, on and on. I can't watch it on TruTV (endless commercials, commentary, and JF pops up on all the shows). Marta, dear, if you have nothing intelligent to contribute, just pile on more sweaters with no commentary, and keep losing your place while you're hunched over the computer.
If I had their website email, I would politely post the same thing.
Neither of the 2 blonds (left of OJ's sister) looked like Christie.
You could see them as the judge and lawyers were looking over the jurors questions.

While in the room, did you point the gun at anyone. He says no, didn't point it at anyone. Held the gun up against his chest angled upwards.
Question about who Fromong was telling about the Joe Montanas - he doesn't know
Did you assume OJ wanted you to bring the gun - no, he asked directly
Did OJ ask you to bring the gun? If so, how did he ask?
Did Mr Alexander indicate OJ might be interested in you having a permit? Yes.
Who was in the white Infinity? Not sure
Why do you have a CCW? Gun enthusiast and job.
Who do you refer to as fang? Just an expresion - my fangs came out.
Who informed you the items taken from the room belonged to OJ? OJ.
Why did you do it - money, etc.? Just for OJ.

Usually, I have my screen minimized because I'm at work, and just listening. When I did get a chance the other day to watch those two women, it was nerve-wracking. They're not too bad to listen to, though.
I sure wish that white SUV, Infinity Q56, AND its occupant(s) had been identified.
I thought McClinton had said there were 2 people in it but he could only say one was a woman because of the dark tinted windows.
The person or people in that SUV had to be trusted friends of Simpson's because the majority of the items stolen from room 1203 were loaded into it and then the SUV drove away. The SUV occupants could be questioned as to where they took all those items ... some of it "belongs" to Fromong and Beardsley (Pete Rose, Joe Montana memorabilia, etc.).
But at least some of it is subject to a turn over to the Goldman family.:flamemad:
Seems like the only person privy to the white suv occupants is OJ himself. He's not talking. He has enough arrows pointing to him as being at the center of the posse gathering. I wouldn't be surprised to hear him say he didn't see no white suv.

I missed that part but Cloey @ J-13 said this is Marta's last trial (coverage). They didn't renew her contract. :read:

Yeeks, if that's true, I don't want to rub salt in her wounds. I checked Google, and there have been a few contract conflicts with her and KTLA (i.e., age discrimination in 1996) over the years (and a lawsuit if I read the search site correctly) going back to the original Simpson trial (1996). (I googled Marta Waller's contract.) So is that outdated news about Marta? Sorry, but I don't know who Cloey@J-13 is. Can I read her comment somewhere?

If so (I'm not sure on this at all) - he could be resisting the subpeona, because he sees himself being cast as the next racist Furhman who lets OJ get away with stupid remarks again.
Or he could be just any old cop who is being no little bit obnoxious and big-headed about testifying.

I thought I heard Lonnie and Marta attribute Tucker to the crack made about if California couldn't get em Nevada will. I can't think of another reason why anyone would not graciously accept an invitation to spend the afternoon with Gallanter, Grasso and OJ. ;)
Guernica, I agree the chart isn't 100% correct.
As for "court support" - last week, there was a bailiff there for part of the trial, and then other times it looked like a media reporter or such, so maybe it's just an odd-man-out chair, for whomever the defense prefers to sit there (subject to the approval of the DA's office).

Beardsley was in cuffs for some reason that Yale alluded to asking about, but then never got to. It's rare for them to be in cuffs. Obviously he did something to change his circumstances.

And it is a catch-22 they're trying. Object to any testimony that Stewart knew what was going on by saying that someone cannot testify what another is able to see or unable to see, then say you cannot charge them with that crime because there's no testimony they saw the guns. And I think at this point he's got nothing to lose. We've got most of his defense case in - and there was nothing there. The tapes have him well convicted. He can't do himself any more harm by testifying. And the only answer to the taped OJ is a live OJ saying what he was thinking and seeing.

ITA! He does have nothing to lose and IF he really didn't go there to do anything wrong (intent) he HAS to take the stand to tell the jurors what was going on in his own mind. I really think he has to explain (his) whole story in order to be believable. IMO, the Prosecution has proved their burden so he should roll the vegas dice & get up on that stand. JMO. Tucker was boring. He just testified that he arrived on scene and started the investigation. I still don't know what the point to it was.
Beardsley was in cuffs for some reason that Yale alluded to asking about, but then never got to. It's rare for them to be in cuffs. Obviously he did something to change his circumstances.
And, yeah, Yale just will not stop asking the questions, even after they're overruled several times.
Closing up shop for the jury.
I guess that Mr. Simpson was very affable.

Only problem is that what was going on in his mind was still illegal! Just because he may have felt "justified" doesn't make it so. His only hope is jury nullification, and I don't think there's anything he could say on the stand that would gain him the sympathy required. Except maybe if Yale asked him if did this and he testifies, "Yale, I may be a murderer but I'm not a robber or kidnapper" they might let him off on lesser charges.

If Tom Scotto IS the Defense's last witness, how will he reconcile these two statements appearing in the press as quotes:
New York Post, September 17, 2007:
1. " "It's ruined my wedding," Thomas Scotto, 45, said of Simpson's arrest for armed robbery the day after the nuptials."
2. "When Simpson came under suspicion for the armed robbery, "he was devastated that he was ruining my wedding," Scotto said."
More at the New York Post article here:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/09172007/news/nationalnews/probe_ruined_my_wedding__frien.htm
But, by October 30, 2007, Scotto changed his story completely for Newsweek magazine:
" Scotto, who met Simpson at a boxing match seven years ago and travels and golfs with him, thinks he knows why his friend's in trouble: he's too trusting. "Nobody really knows O. J.," Scotto insists. "He's a really sweet, really good guy." He says the new legal troubles disturb Simpson. "He's up and down," says Scotto. Some days he's "really depressed."
But despite the uproar in Vegas, Simpson did at least one good turn for his friend. In the hours before the wedding, Simpson put on a brave face—and certainly did not let on that he might be worried about being arrested. After returning from his honeymoon Scotto asked him about this. "I said, 'Why didn't you say anything?' and he said, 'Because it's your wedding. I didn't want to ruin your wedding'." Now, that's a pal. "

Scotto...He sounds like a real winner too\; orry I jst have a bad taste in my mouth about Body Shop Owners>??
http://www.newsweek.com/id/67198
Here's a snippet...
The message was a demand for money in exchange for his silence, Scotto believes. Scotto says he never returned the call. "I'm not getting involved in something like that—bribing a witness," Scotto says. "That's extortion." Scotto tells NEWSWEEK that he turned the tape over to prosecutors a few weeks ago, shortly before Alexander announced he'd cut a deal. Clark County prosecutors declined comment. So did Simpson attorney Yale Galanter.
Anyone else believe that this fantasy and spin will actually be tried out on this jury?? You gotta know they will
Just as an outside..If someone involved me in scam..and knew the truth of the matter??Why would they not ask for assistance to get legal representation from the Major eneral of the Heist??..I dont see this as anything out of ordinary..at least where OJ is concerned??/He has involved so many actors in his life plan..it makes me so mad for the "Kettle to call the Pot Black"!!

LOL - I'm a murderer not a robber! ...
So you don't think OJ's "vainness" would be enough to make him get up there? You could be right, but I think (at least right now) that he just thinks he is the CAT'S MEOW, and if he could only speak directly to the jurors, he could PROVE it to them. I don't think even now he realizes he did anything wrong, being the sociopathic narcissist that he is...
Guess we'll probably find out tomorrow. I heard one of the TH's saying they think Stewart WILL testify because he didn't have a gun, said he knew nothing about bringing guns and I think he didn't even see one? I may be wrong on that one...

Mr. Galanter is a master at pushing the envelope. It is a fine line between being an agressive advocate and being so annoying it affects the jury and the judge negatively.
I did not get anything from the Tucker testimony other than Simpson was cooperative with Law Enforcement; even did the charming persona act for them. Perhaps others have a different take on it.
You are so right about Galantar, also I noticed the Juror's did not ask any questions after the last witness the top cop if you will( can't remeber his name) anyway I think they are tired of OJ"S defense team because think about it every time she has to scolled his defense team the jurors must be thinking shutup already you are dragging this out longer than necssary. And I am sure these juroros have lives that they would like to get back too.

I do think Simpson is very tempted to testify. He is often described as charming and friendly; heard Jean C., on the scene correspondent of InSession, make that statement several times to the studio anchors. Gosh, I would like to be that fly on the wall to hear the conversations between Simpson and his team of Grasso and Galanter tonight and tomorrow!
Remember, though, tomorrow is Tuesday, 9/30/08 and there is no court tomorrow. It is shut down due to a Jewish holiday; which one I can't remember.
We will have to wait until trial resumes on Wednesday.
Oh, I pray that OJ will get his guilty butt on the stand. I want him to go down. Charming? Like John McCain is charming?

Lynda you dont know that.. You make it clear that you have very strong opinions about OJ.. But every friend he has ever had says very nice things about him.. including those who he has had fallings out with.
I really dont care what you personally feel about the man.. But dont pretend that you know him, or how he is with his friends, or those who consider him as a friend. Or make negative assumptions about anyone who does not hate him as much as you do.
You dont know either side of OJ Simpson, and are simply a OJ groupy yourself..(As you like to refer to people)

Not to get too off topic here...but did anyone here see Jamie's "last word" today.? Why I even watched her is beyond me.....she is such a joke.......but today she crossed herself up. Didn't she shortly after the trial rant on about there was no evidence to convict OJ, (of ANY CRIME) and that the whole circus was a waste of tax-payers money? Now today she said that McClinton admitted to being the "gunman" in the circus and that he SOLEY should be tried for armed robbery. So she has gone from NO crime committed, to now hang McClinton, who was acting on OJ's orders.............Jeeezzz.......... she so tries to convince herself that her precious OJ is innocent......I really believe she can't determine right from wrong anymore.

I'm not Lynda, but I understand where you're coming from on the personal bashing of OJ and people's refusal to acknowledge any good in the man. Even people who hate him on Nicole's behalf have to acknowledge that she stayed with the man for years, so he must have some redeeming qualities. The problem I have with OJ is that he seems to have a tendency to use and abuse those women and friends who are so faithful to him. Just because they forgive him doesn't change what he's capable of. Seeing the aspects of this case from both perspectives is hard because OJ's defense is so perverted. Best I can understand his defense, they're saying he did it BUT he should be excused because he thinks the stuff is his and nobody can prove he knew about the guns? His women and buddies may overlook his lapses of judgement and be willing to follow him into hell, but that doesn't mean what he asks them to do is legal. And while his friends may choose to forgive and forget, society and the state of Nevada is not under any obligation to do so. Somebody has to have the guts to stand up and tell OJ "no" when he crosses the line, and it doesn't appear his friends have the personal fortitude to do it.

What you're proposing would create a mistrial and may be OJ's last hope. I hope the jurors realize that.
What you're proposing would create a mistrial and may be OJ's last hope. I hope the jurors realize that.
Any questions the jurors would ask teetering on the mistrial line would not be read.
However, any of the defense teams would try to find "something" to try for a mistrial based that the jury is bias and is letting OJ's past interfere with the decision.
Does anybody plan to watch the Goldmans and Mike Gilbert on Dr. Phil tomorrow? Think Gilbert's gonna spill his guts about details of OJ's hidden cache of "stuff" and money-making sources? And, hopefully, Yale's role?

I wonder if Ehrlich still talks to him. I bet it's blown over but he sounded pretty po'd at OJ.
As far as CJ goes - his apologetic remarks to Alexander and McClinton was more about CYA with trying to get them both to come to his side with the lawyer and all. Power in numbers, we stick together.
