Thanx details... Any idea where he is from ??
I liked his description of how McClinton (sp) held the gun...sideways like a TV gangster.
Mac also said something like "You're lucky your standing instead of lying" ....indicating that he would have shot him.
These clowns are really lucky that this improperly held gun didn't discharge.

****snip, snip, snip ***The relevance Ann is that Yale wants to show that Alexander is scum and a liar as well.... and therefor the jury should not believe what he says.
That's the only reason I can envision the jury needing to hear anything about it. However, what a person does for a living can fluctuate over a lifetime. You could be an attorney who doesn't actively practice law (think OJ's buddy Bob Kardashian from the first OJ trial) who needs to remain in good standing just in case you ever choose to practice a licensed trade full-time again some day.

I think Grasso will do the cross and hopefully it will not be as heated...

Cashmore claims he met Stewart when both worked at a mortgage company. He works at a variety of jobs off and on ... bartender, disc jockey. Had no job at the time; in fact, had asked Stewart for help in finding work. Stewart had arranged a job interview for him afternoon of 9/13/07. He was going to bartend and cook some food for the reception next day.

bearwdsNo idea where he's from. He seems to be giving a good description of the scene. McClinton - definitely going for an intimidating, right from TV look, by the description there. And his recollection of what was said is pretty good - paraphrases, but accurate to the intent. McClinton said something just like that - suggesting that the victims could easily be killed.

I think Grasso will do the cross and hopefully it will not be as heated...Someone else checked. He's got one theft on his record - embezzlement from an employer. Given his job, he has to have grabbed something from the cash register or similar. Otherwise clean. He's a cook/DJ, sounds like more cook than DJ.

He's not doing anything illegal. He and his wife run an escort service is the impression I get - or maybe a brothel at a location where that is legal (prostitution is legal in much of Nevada). He's not admitting to any crime when he talks about that, nor would it kill his realty license, since it's not a crime.
Prostitution is legal in only 11 cities in Nevada. So in most of Nevada prostitution is illegal.

Sorry - I don't know Mattie Simpson-Baker - I'll check in a second.

It's prejudicial, and a way to make the jury weigh the testimony differently, based especially on loaded words like "p i m p".
Prejudicial and irrelevant - two good reasons not to include it. Attorneys aren't allowed to go fishing in your life for everything some juror might not like and judge you on. It'd be the same if you were gay, a defense attorney might try to get you to mention your boyfriend, in hopes there is a prejudiced juror, and refer to you as a sodomite.
Sounds like he may have been doing something illegal, and may have been in CA - I don't know much about that - but it is all irrelevant - it has nothing to do with this case.
I think you are missing the point. The reason to bring this up was that when Alexander made the deal with the prosecution he had told them that he REALLY needed his real estate license as THAT was his main source of income. If it is found out that Alexander lied at all when making his deal, the deal would be null and void and that is the only way he would get in any trouble at all.. If Glass doesn't give him probation as he does not want to spend any more than the 12 hrs he already was held, then he can renege his deal and the pro has promised him NO time at all. THAT was the significance of his OTHER job, to try to prove that he in fact lied when making his deal. But, Glass shot down Galante.
All the defense lawyers are going to push "did you ever call the police...you were not forced to get into the vehicle".
So, I wonder if a man "disses OJ and his friends" do you have a chance to live??? "No OJ - I'm not doing this, I'm calling the cops!"

Well - a sensible person who felt like they had no choice but to go along would have gone along with the robbery to avoid being shot or otherwise hurt, so long as no one was being hurt, then would have called the cops immediately when they were safely away from the baddies.
But then - someone with a record, or who is not so sensible, might feel like they already did it, now they're stuck, time to get that attorney and work with them before doing anything. And then you get into what he did - working with his buddy about an attorney, what the heck happened, etc.
This guy jumped into it pretty fast and easy - was grabbing stuff independently - but didn't seem to be making threats and the like. Not sure what to think of that.

I was going to add more but I'm just to busy right now. Actually a large part of Nevada has outlawed prostitution and brothels, and you have to be licenced to run one. They are currently trying to get brothels and prostitution outlawed because of all the STD. I believe in facts, it's just the paralegal in me, I am not nit picking. Goldie Alexander was arrested for something in 1987 but it was thrown out on a technicality. I don't have time to find the details right now. I will try to see if I can get this info tomorrow. It could be very relevant IMO.

I can just hear OJ saying "Ya know, there was once a little blonde who liked to call the cops. She's not around anymore."
Its been almost 15 years, Him and his GF have had many ups and downs, arguments and breakups and they have BOTH called the police over the last decade or more, Christy is very much alive. As is his daughter who called the police because her Father wouldnt let her go to a Party and they got in a fight. It was over the next day much like most teenage drama.
Thre is no indication that OJ hs ever threatened anyone in the last 15 years atleast.
As for why Christy Prody and OJ's daughter Arnelle and Sister and other friends and family are not in the court, They are "WITNESSES" or potential witnesses and are not permitted in the court at this time.
I am assuming he does not WANT his younger children in the courtroom as he has been very protective of them as far as media goes over the years.
The system works that way for everyone. Always has.
No big mystery.

...IMO, is certainly not in "hell" !! By your reasoning, all defense attorneys that represented a murderer (and I believe that most are FULLY aware of their client's culpability or lack of the same) are hell-bound for .... what?! Doing their jobs? So you think God is making sure RK is "paying his dues" in the afterlife? Did you know Robert Kardashian, what kind of man and father he was? The good he did for others while on this earth? Oh yeah, I forgot, none of that matters because he showed up for work!
ITA . plus how would justice really work with out defense atty's? would defendents have to get up their and represent their self? What about the ones that are really innocent but don't understand the law and then end up in prison. where is the justice in that. So thats why i might hate a few defense atty's but they keep the hands of justice level.

I missed all the testimony after lunch.. but Im curious.
Ive read what a great witness Alexander was percieved to be by some.. Thats definately a matter of opinion, I felt he contradicted himself a number of times in the morning.. But what really had me stunned was ,
He testified that after He and McClinton left OJ and went home to *Get ready*They decided to wire themself to a camera and mic and sell the incident to tabloids ???? Excuse me ??? That had me thinking that they decided to make the tape as explosive as possible so as to make more money and THEY decided to take the whole plan to a new level.
From all the recorded plans by Riccio there is no indication that Guns were ever part of the original plan..
I dont believe OJ wanted any guns.. He knows that he is a prime target for any infraction, I mean people call and report when he is driving and accuse him of intoxication so the police will pull him over, then just to discover he is sober, They do this HOPNG to catch or harrass him, The man cant JAYWALK without risking being arrested.
I believe this Gun drama was the doing of Alexander and McClinton.
OJ was definately wrong to go about things as he did, But I dont believe he conspired to commit any crime. And certainly not to involve guns.
