Wonder if complicated is LE's euphemism for well-planned?

But, again, how well planned was this, really?
Buy a million dollar life insurance policy on your wife
Tell friends wife is bugging you.
Attempt a fatal car accident where only wife gets hurt or killed
Attempt a drowing accident with people around
Mess around with wife's bff.
Be out of town on the nite she was murdered
Be seen on hotel video wearing different clothes
Ask hotel clerk if you have time to drive to Raleigh and back
before being noticed missing
Ask for secret map of hidden back roads
Ask hotel staff if you can borrow a good rock to place by door
Put all lights on when you get back home
Wear 2 different shoes to mess with cops.
Anything else in the plan, I missed?

It's funny that you brought that up. Because when I was reading here this morning I thought about what luck it was that the paper delivery person saw what he did and took notice of it.
Jenna Nielson was also a paper delivery person. I think for a different paper however, it was not too far away from Michelles.
Just kind of interesting, Thats all. I'm sure the PDP was also able to ID the kind of light colored SUV it was.

You didn't hear this one because no one else heard it either. Yet it intrigues you, and you instantly "insinuate" that this is why Meredith lost her weight by posting your question.
It has been mentioned many times on this board that she lost the weight due to health reasons. I guess you don't believe that one, right?

How close were MF and Jason before all this?
If L E could have asked MF to wear a wire, it would have been easier because MM lived in Florida.

I have read here for months so i know there is a small group that will bash me for my opinions. I work at the college and the murder has been the popular talk for a long time, especially when the paper published the warrants from earlier this year. Yes, there are a few that still can't believe a Brevard native could/would do this. However, the vast majority of people i talk to believe we have a murderer among us.
Yes, it is embarrassing that Brevard is publicized for this reason.
I can tell you that most everyone feels for that precious little girl.
Holding her away from her mom's family is not right.Surely you jest about this being your first time posting. LMBO. I am also sure that those college kids are more worried about "that precious little girl",instead of why there has NOT been an arrest.

Sorry, but i don't share your logic.I do NOT see anything hateful in my post. Just my opinion and you will have to get use to other posters having opinions. Four women have been murdered in the area and that is reason enough to suspect a serial killer. If you disagree, that is perfectly OK with me.

Based on what I read, with the exception of the jenna case, all are domestic homicides. The 3 at the army or marine bases involved either the father of the baby or the husband. The nancy cooper murder is similar to Michelle's, in that the husband is under a cloud of suspicion and is apparently the prime suspect.
Even though a serial killer theory is preposterous imo,
at least that takes Meredith out of the picture for this poster. It takes no one out of the picture, for me. I just don`t have a closed mind to all possibilities. Just wanted to clear that up.;)

As long as Jason is still on your list too, that is swell.
Jason is off my list because he has an alibi and I don`t believe LE can break it. Alibi? If someone can produce video footage for me of Jason being in the hotel between 1 - 4 am ...or use of his keycard to get back into the room, or testimony of witnesses seeing him in that hotel during those times....then I would say I can remove him.
I still agree with others that say his trip to the front desk was to get on video again or be seen again as late as possible to make the trip back to Raleigh to kill Michelle *a tight squeeze*. Unfortunately, there is a big difference between *a tight squeeze* and impossible.
Oh, and one other thing that would help remove him from suspicion for me would be if they actually found the dark shirt and it was unscathed...
You write you think "his trip to the front desk was to get on video again or be seen again". Do you really believe he would have worn the shirt he committed the murder wearing and would be identified on that video that he purposely wanted documented?

Why didn't he document his return to his room after being seen the last time in the video?
IMO, he wanted to be seen on the video at the front desk at an hour that would make it appear impossible that he could have made the drive back. Beats me why he didn't realize there were cameras in other places recording his comings and goings.
If he had everything with him when he got to his mother's house and took nothing out and returned home straight away, where is the shirt? I know, I know they searched so many months later here and there and here and there. Anything could have happened to it. What though? Did he get rid of every single article of clothing he owned and start fresh? I could buy that, maybe, but why wasn't the shirt in his luggage?
IMO, he didn't plan on getting bloody. I believe there was a plan, and apparently it was good enough to keep him out of jail this long but he missed things like why not have two identical shirts just in case? Think it never crossed his mind that he might get bloody? Never crossed his mind that he wouldn't be able to overpower and strangle his little, pregnant wife quietly with his precious baby girl sleeping just steps away?
The blood changed everything and he sure underestimated Michelle.
If he did it, of course.

See what no arrest has can do to some people?
Imaginary gloves now~~

Welcome Tavo!
The front desk clerk was probably interviewed right away. It will be interested to see what he remembers. What did he ask for the second time at the desk? He probably could have called for anything he wanted from his room. Why the need to go out to the desk and in different clothing yet?

If he wanted to plant an alibi he was still there are 12 am, he could have simply called Michelle or a friend at that hour. Clear time stamp from Hillsville Va. IMO, no way he shows up at the front desk wearing different clothes to be seen on video. If he was aware of the camera, he would have also realized he was being filmed walking toward the side exit door with a pair of gloves in his hand (JMO)

I wonder if the stairs or snack area are next to the door he was seen walking towards. One poster here has said she stayed at a Hampton Inn and the stairs are beside the door. If so then it's very possible he was heading toward the stairs or to get a snack. I doubt the police would release video of him that is possibly exculpatory.

This was after he told the clerk, his plans to return to Raleigh, and needed a secret map of hidden highways in the mountains that wouldn't use up too much gas or have him encounter any roadblocks.
This was due to the fact that it was well thought out and a perfectly executed plan.

I think what they did release was to show the clothing change more than to show where he was headed. How can one tell from the pictures where in the hotel he is unless you, like some have, do the research. I wouldn't have. So you're thinking there may be video of him after the midnight desk and hallway appearance?

Was his room on the first floor and/or close to the lobby? If not and maybe even if so, I find it too hard to believe that he or anyone would leave their room open for anything more than a few short minutes to grab ice or some such if it was close by.

What bad luck. Not necessarily, it is something an innocent person would do. The SW did NOT say he never re-entered his room, only he didn`t use his key. That is called, creative writing to get a SW.

What you or I would do doesn't really mean anything but I can give you a reasonable scenario.
He heads for the vending machine after propping his door open with the latch. Once at the vending machines he finds he has no change, it's late and thinks "it's late, most people are sleeping and I'll only be gone a minute" then runs down the stairs to get some change, a quick stop at the vending machines then back up the stairs to his room.
The different shirt is just as easy. He grabbed the first shirt on hand to throw on while he went to the vending machine. And no matter how much people ridicule June she has a point. Jason's hair on the hallway video is darker then on the front desk video so it is possible the police have been loking for the wrong shirt all along, that the one he had on was lighter in color and they missed it because they were looking for the darker one.

According to the sw's Jason and Michelle almost always used their debit/credit cards for most purchases. You don't get change back from debit/credit purchases. It's entirely possible he had no change or bills for the vending machine.

You forgot that he made a call to Meredith to make her go to the house, someone there that early morning was wearing a pair of shoes that matches a pair that he owns, the paper person saw a light colored SUV, and his shirt that he wore to go get the change for the vending machine is now missing.
Wow, he is one UNLUCKY dude. There has been NO,I repeat, NO proof that the shoe prints come from shoes owned by Jason. I also don`t recall LE was looking for the shirt seen in the video. I may be wrong and if I am someone will correct me. Jason does NOT drive a light COLORED SUV,his is white.Big difference white VS light colored. Most people knows that and if the PM can see good enough to see the SUV backed in the drive way he could see the car SUV was NOT white. Lets stick to the facts that have been released to the public.

I thought of another thing...I don't put shoes on if I am just running down the hall to the vending machine....anyone else?
Also...one the issue of the shirt. Even if the color is off, they would certainly be able to tell if something is reasonably the same. I mean, it wasn't white. It was "darker" and it had a stripe. They could have experts check the video against items they seized. This one doesn't fly with me.
I wear shoes everywhere even at home but that doesn't prove that Jason did or didn't.
If the police focused on that dark colored shirt they could have missed a lighter colored one. You may think not but what you think and reality are 2 different things.

I'm not sure what is in his hand either. It does look like a sheet of paper, but the darker image on it could be anything.
The lighting is bad in the hallway, but depending on where the lights are located, that dark splotch could just be the shadow from a sprinkler head.

Re-read what I wrote. I did not say the prints were from shoes owned by Jason. I said the prints were of shoes that matched a pair that Jason owned. There is a difference -- I didn't say they were definitely his. We won't be able to tell that because apparently they cannot be found now.
And, I didn't say the newspaper person saw a white SUV did I? No, the paper delivery person saw a light colored SUV. That is all I stated.
I remember a case on a Forensic Files sort of show where people had seen what they tho't was a reddish/pinkish pickup leave the scene of a murder. What they actually saw was a WHITE pickup, the color being distorted by the glow of the street lamps. So, if there were any street lights, a white SUV could actually look like a light-colored SUV, IMO.

So, you just take your shoes off when you sit on the edge of the bed and then immediately put them back on to go the bathroom in the room, etc.? Your feet never hit the floor of the hotel room? Though the hallway still sees a bit more traffic, the room still sees all of those things you mentioned above.
Perhaps you wear slippers constantly. Do you never take your shoes off at home? I mean...if you wear the slippers at the hotel and then go home and wear them without washing them...you are tracking in the hotel's germs, right? And if you do wash them, what are you wearing on your feet while you wash them?
This isn't about me but I own a couple of pairs of slippers and even more sandals. And I own a steam cleaner and clean my carpets once a month. I don't walk barefooted anywhere. My feet are always covered by some type of shoe.
