MIAMI -- A Miami man shot and killed his three-year-old daughter before turning the gun on himself.

Police said the killings happened at an apartment complex in the 1700 block of N.W. North River Drive. Police said the incident began as a domestic dispute and ended in a murder-suicide.

OMIG! Mom saved herself and ran off and left the baby with
the man who had held a gun to the child's head.
She probably prevented a double murder. Also, maybe she hoped that if she left, the situation would calm down since he would neither be provoked nor have an audience for his acting-out.

As a mother I rather envison I would get my child out of the car and take the bullet myself..... but who knows.

I don't know if we can ever predict how we would behave in a similar situation. Several years ago, I lived in Oklahome City and a young mother with her baby in a safety seat stalled her car on a railroad track and soon heard the warning whistle of an approaching train... for some reason, she could not get her infant out of the seat and just before the train hit, she jumped away and saved herself.

At the time, I thought I would have remained in the car still trying to undo the baby because I didn't think I could live with myself otherwise.

The man in the above article killed the 3 year old to get even with his girlfriend for running away. There is no way of knowing if anyone would have been killed had she not run away. When she ran away, she sealed the fate of her little girl. jmo

I would have thought of a reason to take the child with me. Going to the bathroom or something. Awful. I hope that woman doesn't kill herself. imo
