Great post, Briar. ITA. While I don't think the protesters need to be there in the wee hours, causing actual damage to the Anthonys home and waking up the neighbors, you made an excellent point. Sometimes, life isn't fair. Like you, I can't lose sight of who drew first blood in this never ending nightmare, and who is very likely dead and decomposed as a result.

Caylee never had a chance, and her life very likely ended at age 2, at the hand of her own mother. That is the height of unfairness, and until I see some tiny bit of justice for Caylee in all this, pardon me while I do not concern myself with whether her family receives fair treatment.

TES saying they are going back indicates to me that no body has been found. That's what they do....look for bodies. If a body had been found there would be nothing for them to do and they would go on to another missing person.

I agree. I have to wonder how the community might have rallied around them had they not felt lied to, deceived, etc. I think a lot of us understand them supporting Casey but it's some of their own actions, not directly related to Casey, that have caused this public "hatred" toward them. IMO.

G and C seem to have no shame about using the media when they have something to defend, try to sway the public, confuse the issues and the facts to suit their own agenda...yet when they don't need the media to spread their line of bunk, or when they show up to catch something the Anthony's don't want made public they expect the media to get the h*ll away from them and their property. Actually all the Anthony's have a lot of gaul, and seem to be what I refer to as 'users' who have a sense of entitlement for some reason.

I remember a Maury show I saw briefly in passing while channel surfing, where the teenage girl had already had TEN MEN tested who had turned out not to be the father, and the show was about the additional potential fathers who were being tested (the 11th, 12th and 13th IIRC.) All I could think was how sad it was that she had unprotected sex with SO MANY MEN in such a short time (3-5 days?), and what the grand total must be at that rate, and how she is substantially certain to contract incurable and potentially fatal sexually transmitted diseases from such extensive unprotected sex. :(

I think the only two things that would shock me at this point would be:

A. Casey's parents decide that their daughter is indeed guilty and they can no longer support her stories.

B. Caylee is found

Yeah Idol, I was hoping that too. The Anthoneys seem to think they're smarter than us mere mortals. I noticed we haven't heard from their attorney since his first media go around. I can't remember @ what age my kiddos first got dental xrays, or even for sure when they first went to the dentist---but I do remember that for a couple of years, the "exam" was mostly the dentist just looking in their mouths for any problems.

I am trying to think back over other cases we have followed but I just can not remember one....Does anyone ever remember someone with a missing person that TES helped with that ever bad mouthed the team itself let alone Tim Miller?

amazing to me also that Cindy and George act like they don't know Caylee is dead. but if you listen to Cindys testimony from the bond hearing she states that Lee got it out of Casey the first night.

Casey isn't the first person to be 7 months pregnant without telling her parents, nor will she be the last. IIRC, just like many girls, she was fearful about telling her parents, their reactions. Also, IIRC, her "plan" was to put the baby up for adoption, and probably would have, had her parents (or @ least Cindy) not put the kibosh on that. Who knows, she may very well have looked into some of the social agencies who handle adoptions.

Maybe he left because the check they wrote him to pay his retainer bounced or came back stolen from someone else - do we know for a fact that Amy Huizenga got her checkbook back with all remaining checks in it? Just kidding - I'm pretty sure a criminal defense attorney would know better.

In all seriousness, I suspect the retainer covered the initial consultation where he advised George and Cindy of their current situation and potential outcomes, and the media appearances, and availability for further consultation and representation if needed in the future. Some attorneys (especially criminal defense attorneys) charge a flat fee for handling a specified matter. Some attorneys bill their hourly rate against the retainer until it is exhausted then they sent monthly invoices explaining where the money went and requesting payment. Many attorneys require the retainer to be constantly replenished until the case is over. The Anthonys have not disclosed what their fee arrangement was or what services they requested.

The various state bars require the attorneys to justify their fees charged if the clients challenge the amount of attorneys fees. Any competent attorney can plainly see that the Anthonys are difficult clients who can be expected to challenge the attorneys fees as soon as they no longer require the attorney's services. So, my interpretation of the situation is that the attorney has provided the attorney services originally requested at the time the initial retainer was paid, and he is now waiting for any major developments in the case that might need the further services of a criminal defense attorney (as opposed to a PR firm or a fence contractor.)

We all know Casey is a liar,and that she has learned first hand from Cindy to embellish the "drama" to get a faster response from the police.
I know some have asked why she isn't worried acting when we see her publically...wondering if the Sociopathy makes her fail to feel fearful about possibly going to jail. No, she has emotion about her own wellbeing, witness her 911 calls...the appearance of calm is just that, a "front" to keep us from seeing that she has a dramatic emotional response to concerns for herself, as opposed to the utter lack of affect in regards to Caylees safety.
I f she isn't concerned that she will be jailed for Caylee's death, it is a combination of the facts about the disposal, Baez's Counsel assuring her he will"get her off" the charges if/when they come, and her absolute confidence that she is an expert liar and can outwit LE. The last is a classic factor in the downfall of many criminals.

IMO, Caylee means so little to her that the only emotion she can portray about Caylee is annoyance that it is all Caylees "fault" that she has been arrested "on a whim". There ore, Baez is coaching her to be "stoic" becuase that is the best he can help her offer as a "normal" face to present the public.

So, he didn't insert himself into this case out of nowhere--it is because he was asked to be here. Not that he has necessarily helped the case much. Well, I guess his role is probably to help Casey, not so much as to help "the case."

IMOYes, they did invite him in. My own screwed up family (pardon please..lessser terms will not suffice) often attempts to "invite" me into their drama too, thankfully years of therapy beginning in my late teens has equipped me to graciously decline their invitation and exert my own common sense.
I think he was originally brought on by the other "man of the family" to contain the more emotional females and to act as a buffer between them...I think he has stayed for fame and a potential payoff. I know that is harsh, but I believe it to be true. At first I kept saying that "my jury was out" on Lee. I did hope he was able to escape his family with minimal damage, and that he might champion his darling niece...everything I see of him since then has convinced me that he is clearly and Anthony to the bone. Lying, and slef interest in the extreme seem to be a family trait.

I have picked up clients and (favorable) witnesses to carpool to appearances, especially when I was not confident that they would show up on their own without my dragging them there by the hair - er - I mean, without my tender loving care. I didn't do it for free, though; I billed my standard hourly rate ($150/hr at the time) for my chauffeuring, which sounds bad unless you consider that travel time is always billed anyway.

I generally don't walk hand-in-hand with them though. I save my touchy-feely, my-client-is-likable-not-a-monster affection exhibitions for the courthouse.

jmoNo, we haven't heard any such statement regarding Caylee...and many of us have wondered why. It is even more shocking that they have not made any plea like this for her when they just made one for themselves. Amazing how specific they have become when they feel their own safety and privacy are being violated....and sad that none of them thought to make heartfelt pleas for Caylee on a regular basis.
It is very telling of what they really believe and who is the priority here for the Anthony's. Sad that they haev seemed to so readily discarded their concern for Caylee. You would have needed to beat me with a bat to shut me up and keep me in my house when My baby was gone. Someone missed the memo entitled Life Isn't Fair! 2 wrongs don't make a right, but Caylee had a right to a safe and loving childhood and failing that she deserved to have a family that would go to the ends of the earth to get justice and a proper burial. After all, she IS the only innocent in all of this. Everything else is about choice and accountability. If you choose to lie to protect your psycho daughter, you'll become VERY unpopular. If you choose to protest in a disruptive and violent matter, you may end up in the cell next to Casey. Until I know why Caylee isn't playing in the Anthony's front yard, I won't worry too much about George and Cindy not being able to sit on the porch and sip lemonade.
