A partial explanation of double jeopardy on Wikipedia.



This means to me that any new charges relating to the Child Neglect act can be filed as long as they aren't child neglect. And since murder 1 is a different charge but is related to the child neglect, it is not double jeopardy. JMHO

I think LE screwed up by filing the neglect charges when they did. Now they are faced with a November trial date. They have put the pressure on to find Caylee before they go to trial.

They run the risk of double jeopardy attaching at the neglect trial, unless they limit the neglect solely to failure to report Caylee missing, and do not present facts or evidence of the circumstances surrounding her missing or the reasons therefore.

This will be hard to do ... Baez can bring these issues up on cross-examination.

The neglect charges, however, wouldn't preclude a subsequent Murder 1 charge ... because of the premeditated intentional aspect of murder 1. But it could preclude lesser homicide charges that would result as a product of neglect ... ie. Casey left Caylee in the car, and Caylee died of heat exhaustion.

The only audio release we heard was when some guy named Patrick visited Casey. Apparently he went to high school with her, she didn't recognize him - until after he left.

But you're right, ZG was never mentioned in that visit.

After that, Casey cancelled all visits with friends (IF any had already signed up), opting to only have family during the 3 visiting times of the week. Eventually, she'd turn all of them away. Until she was released on bond and then it was like old home week - hugs and kisses.

Casey used this poor womans name in her lies to police and now her life has been turned upside down because of it. The only ZG that Casey used as her nanny is in Casey's head. People need to leave this woman alone. She has small children for petes sake.
If one of her children is harmed due to the lack of responsibility and ignorance of others. It is going to make a sad situation even worse.

Of course those who won't leave her alone and won't stop with the lies about her don't care about justice and dignity for Caylee either so why should we expect them to have some respect for ZG's children.

I wonder if there was any paper trial of regular payments to the nanny.
Or was Casey receiving any kind of public assistance that may have paid for Kaylee's daycare? One would think that if any of the Anthony's paid for Kaylee's nanny that they would pay with a check for tax deduction reasons. IMO

I have a feeling the State Attorney's office is not too happy about having to go forward in November ... and why the leaks to put pressure on Casey. They waited as long as they could to file charges prior to her release the first time. The State Attorney didn't have her arrested ... local LE did. The State Attorney is stuck with it.

They will have to be extremely careful on how they present the neglect case.

I need to go look at the charging affidavit and see what is in there. If I were the State Attorney, I would consider dismissing the neglect charges, and go forward on the economic charges.

I just thought I would throw a couple of things out there that I have been mulling over (it seems like forever), but I have never heard/seen them addressed.
OK...the night that Cindy went to TonE's and retrieved Casey..Lee was at the house, it sure didn't seem like he would be a frequent visitor at that point especially for a weekday into the late evening...has anyone ever figured out why he was there?
And...
That same evening George wasn't there, he has said before that Cindy tried to reach him and couldn't for a bit..until 'later'. He wasn't at work apparently...but I have never heard any mention of where he indeed was...has anyone caught that yet?
Also on the first call from the jail Lee makes a reference as to what 'Casey has been putting Mom through' for the past month...have we ever figured out what that was? Or was it meant to be Casey holding Caylee against Cindy and not letting her see the baby?

I just thought I would throw a couple of things out there that I have been mulling over (it seems like forever), but I have never heard/seen them addressed.
OK...the night that Cindy went to TonE's and retrieved Casey..Lee was at the house, it sure didn't seem like he would be a frequent visitor at that point especially for a weekday into the late evening...has anyone ever figured out why he was there?
And...
That same evening George wasn't there, he has said before that Cindy tried to reach him and couldn't for a bit..until 'later'. He wasn't at work apparently...but I have never heard any mention of where he indeed was...has anyone caught that yet?
Also on the first call from the jail Lee makes a reference as to what 'Casey has been putting Mom through' for the past month...have we ever figured out what that was? Or was it meant to be Casey holding Caylee against Cindy and not letting her see the baby?

Please, just because this case affects me does not mean I am living in denial, I am living for hope that Caylee is alive. I know she is probably dead, but I also want to know all about the Zenaida connection, I really dont think that makes me not in touch or anything, I have had MANY friends like Casey Anthony, I know her game, I just find the Zenaida aspect quite faciniating and what to know how Casey knew Zenaida was there. I tend to think outside the box, and I am a horrible devils advocate at times. But dont try to portray it that she has me sucked in.

Caylee has said he is dead and LE seems satisfied with that story. His name has never been revealed and therefore, there's no way to know if he was wealthy. IMO, Caylee's father is/was not wealthy and she's not proud of whoever he is, imo. Otherwise, we'd know who he was.

I think the neighbors ought to all put up no trespassing signs, and pressing charges against protesters who get so out of line that they destroy their property, or get so loud as to disturb the peace. @ the least, I DO think it is reasonable (and legal) to determine times of protesting---say, all protesters have to leave by 10 pm so THE NEIGHBORHOOD folk can get rest for the next day's work.

Hi Summer, What in the world is going on? What is this about Laura having Caylee? I just got home from a day with one of our adorable 3 year old grandchildren. I looked at their face all day and thought of our little Caylee-so sad:rose:

I think the neighbors ought to all put up no trespassing signs, and pressing charges against protesters who get so out of line that they destroy their property, or get so loud as to disturb the peace. @ the least, I DO think it is reasonable (and legal) to determine times of protesting---say, all protesters have to leave by 10 pm so THE NEIGHBORHOOD folk can get rest for the next day's work.

As for the grandmother of little Dakota (bless her pea-picking heart--Dakota, not the grandmother.) Ahem---I am quite techno-disadvantaged, but even I know that you BLOCK emails or texts or calls to land line or cell phones that you find UNDESIRABLE. If you just BLOCK CA---the little one would not continue to get emails and texts. Plus, there is this little thing of not letting the child text and email CA.

I agree. IIRC from the "fight scene" video of Saturday night, it did appear as though other neighbors had put up that yellow tape, too. Stand to be corrected. But I do agree they have rights. Most protests take place on public properties like courthouses (where there was should move, IMO), not residential neighborhoods. Maybe the neighbors will get a break on their property taxes for their inconvience and lack of sleep. Ya think? JMO.

If the protesters are disturbing the peace or causing excessive noise, the neighbors should call the police and make a report. What is the difference if a neighbor is being too loud?

I did look at the map of the Anthonys neighborhood. Their home is in the center of 2 entrances. Most people wouldn't be inconvenienced by 'going around' b/c the Anthonys are in the center. (If they wanted to avoid cameras, media, protesters)

I am stuck on her for some reason, since I do believe Cindy and Lee when they said that Casey has been talking about Zanny for a year and 1/2, prior to her disappearance.
