When you have a truck full of things from 1991 and you still have them in 2007 I would say it might be just a hint nobody wants them.
I bet Fred Goldman wanted it.

Mike Gilbert was a very close associate of OJ prior to his murder trial.and he was the person who secreted all that STUFF from Rockingham prior to the search and seizure post Civil Court Seizure of items of monetary value to fullfill damages..(OJ had been tipped off???wonder who??) Oj was out goling..and knew nuthin.saw nuttin..heard nuttin!! In the meantime..this STFF got stashed into warehouse under OJ's mother's name...HUMMMM..I have heard Gilbert speak f all this..so not making it up or just taking media sin on that!

that would be true IF oj hadnt been hiding the stuff. noone could buy it if he was hiding it
OK so now it was hidden and that's why nobody had any for sale. So all the people who bought stuff from O.J. previous civil trial. Didn't want to sell it because it was so valuable.

:confused:Nor does it matter if they are trash or diamonds - theft is theft. If they thought they were valuable - then they were - and when they get the right collector, they'll get money for them. And how long you have something is no indication of how valuable it is - if I had a first edition Superman comic for the last several decades - could it then be stolen because it is obviously worthless?

i dont understand your line of thinking on this.
i thought you were only talking about the stuff oj was trying to get back. i was saying that he hadnt tried to sell it for all the years he was hiding it in the storage unit in his mom's name. you said it shows noone wanted it anyway if he'd had memorabilia that long. i was just saying it seems he didnt want to sell it because he had been hiding it in the storage unit in his moms name.
So are we on the same page, that OJ wanted to keep this stuff as he said for his kids and relatives because it really isn't worth a lot of money.

yale's opening was very good if you didnt know the whole story he was spinning was a lie, lol. i swear i still dont know how he said that stuff with a straight face, lol.
stewart's lawyer looked like a bumbling boob, imo. his story didnt match the story yale told. yale even stood up and objected and wanted the jury to know that he doesnt agree with his story. it was great, lol

at this point, if i were the pros..i'd pull out a diagram to scale and let fromong show where everyone was standing so the jury could see how small the room was.

No I meant 1991 when Fromong started selling OJ material, he said he would pay OJ to sign OJ stuff.
Here's what I am referring to..and yes Fromong knew OJ/Mike since 1991..hwever Fromong stopped during the OJ's trial..and did NOT have any contact until 2004 or there abouts:
Snippet:
He met Simpson back in 1991 through his friend Mike Gilbert and Gilbert, Fromong and Simpson set up a company called Locker 32 to produce and distribute memorabilia. He stopped working with Simpson during the time of the first trial, in 1995, when he split the company, Locker 32, giving all of the duties of handling Simpson’s memorabilia to Mike Gilbert, and dropping OJ as a client himself because of potential fallout from the Simpson murder trial tainting the company and the other athletes it handled, who were not all supportive of Simpson during that time.

There was a mix of items; the pictures were probably wanted for his kids. But he didn't value them enough to pay the storage bill. Happens every day to Joe Blows across the country that personal stuff gets sold at auction.

That's pretty much it. You don't pay storage fees, you forfeit the stuff in storage. Simple as that. This stuff was not OJ's to claim, legally nor by force.

LMShammerSeems OJ thinks it was authentic! He says it was his stuff.
But I know what you mean - but there is a lot of it that can be authenticated - laser etchings and the like - and a lot of it that gets authenticated other ways. And a lot of fake.
I worked in the jewelry industry - it's similar in a lot of ways. While a fake can easily be made to fool the average person, the one thing that keeps buyers relatively safe is that it's all about reputation - if you ever sell a fake, your reputation and your business is gone - never to come back. So while a fake is easy, buying from anyone with any reputation is pretty safe - the bit of money they'd get from scamming you isn't worth the loss of their business if word ever gets out.

Fun battle over the question of did OJ threaten you - define threat, do you go into did you feel threatened, versus was an explicit threat made, etc. Fun stuff - classic defense attorney - if he can get this guy to say, "No, OJ never said anything threatening", he'll spin it in the final statement into the broader "This guy even admitted he didn't feel threatened by OJ!".

And like you recognize there are artifacts..and collectables that can be authenticated..BUT..as to the sports venue..I am a skeptic..sorry..since the legal eyes look at things as "Buyer Beware"..then I take it upon myself to make sure thins are autheniticated and documented..IF you know what i am saying??

A cute interaction - probably reflective of the witnesses past relationship with Simpson - as talked about how he would work with Simpson to set up appearances, and he says the deal was that OJ would sit there and sign, and "be Mr. Simpson" - and he said that last bit with a little proud wave of his head, and OJ returned it, raising his head, looking a bit proud, little smile back.
Just a split second - but it seems clear he liked working with OJ in the past, and enjoyed setting up these events to make fans happy, seeing them come off, proud of what he did.

Fromong said in his own words that OJ wouldn't sell those items, so is it possible that Fromong thought they were stolen. If Fromong was such a good friend why didn't he call OJ and say, hey I think I have some of your stuff that you wanted to give to your family, or why didn't he call the Goldmans personal representative and say I have some of the items?

And he said he would give those things away - to friends or family - and those people indeed could be selling them.
Or, as you point out - there's no reason for him not to think they got given to the Goldman family, as they were supposed to be, and sold in that way. Why assume they're stolen, when he definitely knows about the judgement, and that most of OJ's memoribilia was taken for the judgement.

Judge Glass clearly has NO patience for the details of sports memorabilia collecting, and why things are special or valuable. I love her! I have zero interest in all that junk either, I just want to know the facts of the case, not why each ball is special.

LOL, you're right, I'm not interested. But I have nothing against those who do!
Speaking of metal lunchboxes, I had a friend named Laura who had a Waltons metal lunchbox. What I wouldn't give to have that right now ... only because my mother is totally into the Waltons. She wants to visit the "Walton House" Museum in Virginia. I bet that lunchbox would be worth some money, and would be a great item to have at the Walton Museum.

OJ knew exactlky what he was doing assocaiating with these guys..MONEY$$under the table...cash..not traceable...not obtainable by the Goldman's nor the Judgement against OJ!!..Not unusual..but wonder if OJ got anyting out of all these transactions???HUMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Well if he's having a heart attack this is going to put things on hold.I don't see that - little tiny natural discrepancies that any of us would have after being questioned multiple times about an event. Nothing major, nothing deceptive, just little natural stuff. Memories naturally shift over time - some bits become more fuzzy, other bits become sharper as you re-remember the details. But nothing of the basic story has changed. Nothing shows him making self-serving nor biased corrections in any direction to his story.

However, at the least - the defense is being pretty straightforward, asking the questions, letting him answer, bringing up any contradicting information they think they have - a good defense attorney - not shrill nor whiny, not arrogant nor talking over the witness. He's doing all he can to get everything out of the witness - but he's doing it right. This guy just knows his stuff - he knows the business, he knows his history with OJ, and he knows what happened that night - he's not going to be shaken nor tricked into making an overly broad incorrect statement of any kind.

I understand where you're coming from wanting to keep straight and separate what comes before the jury and what does not. Not "playing" juror but wanting to see the case from a juror's perspective. The problem is that a juror doesn't get to talk about the case with anyone as it goes along, which is what you're attempting to do here. I do much the same thing...I like to keep separate what I know from outside sources versus what the jury hears. As discussed earlier its the difference between when its all over understanding the jury's final decision on the matter versus public opinion. Most posters are only interested in utilizing this board for public opinion.

Nothing to cause a heart attack. The defense was nowhere near out of control - they were entirely good - just about perfect. Questioning, probing, trying to find holes, weaknesses in the story - but nothing out of line, inappropriate, hostile, etc. They tried some tricks - defense attorneys always do - but nothing that is out of line. I hope they continue that way.
If he cannot return, I think the judge would have to decide if the jury can disregard his testimony they have already heard, and the prosecution can continue the case without him (and I don't think his testimony is necessary - good - but the other victim can speak to the events and the memoribilia business). The key testimony is the tape, evidence OJ knew about guns and requested them.
This guy is a highly credible witness - but with his heart issues, I'm glad they don't take any chances if he's having the slightest symptom.
