I don't understand what the big deal is. Women have been smoking and cussing since I've been around. And thats 61 yrs. now.
Are we suppose to go back in time, now? JMO
LOL. No, but smoking and cussing in the streets was taught as taboo for women when I was growing up. I smoke, disgusting habit but hard to kick, and to this day I don't smoke when I'm in non-smokers company, walking outdoors, on the beach, etc. I just feel rude. But hey, light up, I just did.:D

I had Sister Mary Ernest Borgnine too. I couldn't tell if she smoked cuz she had no hands that I could see. I smoke, but not near small children. They can make up their minds for themselves about smoking when they hit junior high just like I did.
Love your posts and your sig line.
Totally baffled by the Anthony family and their reactions.

The word has been repeated so many times now that I'm sure CW will see it and ban me. That is why people keep repeating it, I suppose.
We have a word here for those protesters. I'm just not sure what to call them if I cannot use my own term which I believe is pretty much mainstream language these days. They are what they are. They shouldn't be out there; they are doing nothing for Caylee.:rose:You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't think you have a right to use words like that just because you disapprove of what they are doing.
I think there may be some value in what they are doing. I read that increasing pressure on a perp makes them cave and tell the true story. I don't know if that will work in this case, but nobody has a right to degrade someone for standing up for what they believe in.
I am frankly disappointed in what I am reading here. I had no idea some had such pre-conceived notions and judgmental attitudes. It has been quite an eye opener.
I don't see that this display makes them any better than the people they are degrading. That's my opinion.
Have at it.

The woman, and I use that term very loosely, that confronted Cindy was guilty of one of the same charges Casey is facing......child neglect. Lets say that they were the bones of a small child, wouldnt they have to notify the A's that something was found? Or is it legal to wait till a full autopsy is completed? I have been thinking about that for the past week. Also.......they didnt say what type of clothing was found.

The protesters do more harm than good for the case. Poor LE. They are busy trying to put the case together and are distracted by the protesters. They are not going to press charges until they can charge Casey the highest degree of murder possible. In my opinion, they are working on first degree. These protesters just make things worse. I am sure LE has better words for them right now. At times, I do wonder if it is another tactic by the Anthony family. Charge her fast and miss first degree murder. It wouldn't shock me.

Something the new attorney Njame's said caught my attention the other day.
When some reporter asked him about Cindy shaking Casey and asking her questions. he said something about maybe that's not the best way to deal wit that or get answers or something to that effect. Which made me stop and think. Maybe they have to ACT like they believe her and are gentle etc to get Casey to talk? Yes? No?
Baez has told Casey not to talk to anyone about the case. He's probably told George and Cindy the ramifications if she does talk to them ... Casey's conversations with her parents are not privileged.

Here's a question...........the bones and clothing they found last Sunday....has it been reported that it was indeed animal bones?
Lets say that they were the bones of a small child, wouldnt they have to notify the A's that something was found? Or is it legal to wait till a full autopsy is completed? I have been thinking about that for the past week. Also.......they didnt say what type of clothing was found.
I thought I read they were bird bones. They I heard they were burnt (burndt is the spelling that was used) bones. Who knows?

I dont think its an act. I think they believe Caylee is alive..or they believe she is dead and they have circled the wagons around Casey....If its true they had a big fight and Cindy kicked them out of the home.
Cindy may feel guilty and blame herself.

I keep remembering the profiler on ID saying that the best way to get Casey to talk is to continue to back her into a corner with her lies. She would eventually feel the need to "flee" and would enventually come clean. I don't know if I believe she will ever come clean in either situation (making her think they believe her, or confronting her with her lies)
I only have an undergradutate degree in Psychology so I can't give a real opinion on how to get her to talk.

It is not required that LE tells a family that something has been found. They do it out of respect? for them. To let them be the first to know that there is a possiblility their loved one has been found--so they don't have to have it sprung on them @ the 6 o'clock news.
I would think, if the word is out, the A's most likely know, they might even have been told by LE. They might just choose not to be discussing it, especially in the light that they don't believe that Caylee is dead.

I don't think it would take long to identify a body in a case that's this high profile (Laci and Conner Peterson's bodies were id'd within 2 days). I honestly don't think her body has been found and the searches were called off for exactly the reason given.

Reminds me of the statement in the telephone conversation when Casey is upset that people are only thinking of Caylee, something along those lines. Well, of course!!!!
And, another mother in NC? the one whose son was killed by the "carjacker"---there was a vigil and she was upset that it focused on her dead son, not on her. They need to LISTEN to who the vigil is FOR, for Pete's sake.

They are so hard to figure out. I do think Cindy is someone who likes to sweep all family business under the rug, except this time it is too big to shove under there.
At first I thought that Cindy was trying to get out the word on tv about Caylee only and she said this in the first few days of interviews. I noticed the big change when Casey accused her on the phone call of not "knowing what my involvement is" she was mad. That is when I thought she changed, I could have missed something else.
All interviews end up being about Casey and not Caylee. Cindy did try in the beginning to talk about her, then the host asked about Casey. The TH accused her of murder etc and there was not doc drop, not tapes, no nothing just the 31 days. I can imagine that was hard to listen to as a parent.
I wish Cindy wasn't so defensive about her relationship with Casey, because I truly believe she would have peoples sympathies instead of anger.

It's all about drawing a line in the sand with these "vigils", isn't it?
I could think of about a hundred more dignified places to hold a vigil than someone's garage/driveway, especially with media and protesters circling. That is, if their purpose was truly to honor Caylee and not simply to add another ring to the circus.
That was the only home Caylee had ever had though so maybe they wanted it there for that reason alone. The protestors could show respect for the fact that it's a vigil for a missing child and restrain themselves.

Yes, and I so wanted Nancy Grace to point this out to Atty. Nejame when he reminded the viewers that Cindy was the one who called LE to report Caylee was missing. Like she should get a metal of honor for her great grandmotherly deed, and everything she has said and done since that day should be overlooked or forgiven.

I fully believe they think caylee is alive. 3 big reasons to start with, that they cant accept their granddaughter is dead, they cant face the idea their daughter would kill her child, and finally they cant even think that to do so their daughter has to be a monster.
Now you add to those normal first feelings and you have a hot shot lawyer (from what i can tell baez has a good record and was respected) telling you why all the "evidence" actually means nothing or the opposite.
Then the lawyer says things like (imo) "i can tell you that casey has shared with me what happened and we have ppl watching the kidnappers" or "i know exactly what happened, i cant allow casey to tell you because its not priveleged, but rest assured we will get caylee back home safe"
add the two together and it doesn't surprise me in the least that they believe caylee is alive even though to us and the outside world it seems impossible.
it also makes sense of the gp's behavior and words, they really only become truly bizarre if you think they know she is dead, otherwise they may not be nice but they make sense or at least more sense.

I've gone back and forth in my own head about whether or not they really know that Caylee is dead. It would certainly explain their utter lack of interest in or activity around searching for a live Caylee, wouldn't it?
And no tips for the general public, no hints, no credible sightings for us to follow up on. Nothing more specific than the occasional mention of a state or country to which Cindy's 'gut' is pointing.

So Cindy was being a human initially....
Since then she has been in denial and has lied on numerous occasions...
I've thought about this a lot. The 911 calls. I think in the first call, she reports the granddaughter missing like it's an afterthought. But I never really thought the priority was the car or money. It was supposed to be Cindy's version of a wake up call to Casey. I don't believe Cindy really knew that Caylee was ''missing'', ''kidnapped'' or whatever you want to call what it was at that time. I think she really believed Casey was hiding the child from her out of spite, probably with some new friends, and that Cindy was trying to get it out of her by getting the police involved on as many charges as she could think of off the top of her head. Then when Casey was on her way to jail, she'd say to the police ''find out where my granddaughter is, so I will take temporary custody of her while my daughter is getting her legal stuff like bond straightened out''.
I truly believe between the first 911 call and before that car came home, Cindy was absolutely clueless about what was going on, but was entirely fed up with being postponed about contact with the baby, and finally took action the only way she knew how.
What changed it for her was when that car came back AND when Zenaida proved to be nonexistent, in the form of the baby sitter.
My heart broke for Cindy, I truly believed she loved her granddaughter and was trying to save her. I don't believe in what she is doing now. I don't agree with her trying to protect Casey. I just try and put myself in that frame of mind, and I can't do it. I can't imagine anyone hiding my child or any baby I helped raise for a month. It would be agony.
Don't get me wrong. I don't like the Anthony's, and don't agree with their current behavior. But after listening to those calls so many times, and finding out how Cindy had to track Casey down at the apartment with Amy, this is the only thing I can think of going on in that woman's head, esp., after hearing an implied threat of going to court, during the 911 call after they were on hold.
I don't believe those calls were really about money or a car, but were a means to an end to get that baby back, a baby that Casey convinced everyone was still with us.
Please remember this is still IMO

Can someone start a new evening thread,

Also, can we late-comers have a short

BTW, I hope everyone realizes that poster last night was probably a scam artist.
I missed that ..what poster?...
So now it's a vigil for Casey. imo
I would rather get a 2nd confirmation on this. the reporter could have simply made an error. for that matter so could cindy..she was also facing signs with casey on them. I highly doubt the vigils are for casey.

You didn't follow the case close enough then because if you did then you'd know that Cindy didn't know that Caylee had been gone for over a month at the time she made those first 2 calls to 911.
She can't report what she didn't know.
Then why did Cindy tell NG.(was it NG?)..that she had been in contact with Casey all month long?
Let me look for a link on that.. :read:

A new poster came on asking us to send him/her money in the Spanish Virgin Islands and his friend in the US would file a class action suit against Casey in order to create a new law. Then, we would make $$$ when the suit came through. It was a variation on the email from Nigeria saying "I will inherit $500 million soon, but need to put it in your account. I will give you half. Please send me your account info."

ITA. I think George should have called LE from the tow yard, given all the circumstances. That's where the cover-up began. imo
I agree. in fact that was my very first thought about this case.
what is more intriguing, Mr. Birch was a witness to this smell AND the maggots in the bag with the pizza. what was George thinking? he knew that smell as well.
at that point they had already talked to Casey IMO....George came equipped with gasoline for the car and Cindy was gyrating about the cost.
were was the concern for Caylee at that point? carseat still in the car.....
the only explanation:
they had to have been in contact with Casey.....and she was continuing her lies about Caylee...thats why George wasnt upset about the smell of death...and that's why Cindy was more concerned with the cost.
I think Cindy spent some time at home 'thinking about' what she smelled, lack of communication with Caylee...then finally freaked out, no more, I want to speak to Caylee....so she made an effort to find Casey....
because up to that point, no physical effort was made...obviously.
best regards,
Pru

No it's a board for professional legals of all types. Are they unaware that Casey has already "earned" $200,000.00 for selling a video of Caylee and stands to be paid millions for "misplacing" her poor little girl? I'm sure there are many people just as "worthy" of the best defense who aren't as fortunate.

maybe the protesters should stay in their house. Do you think they are accomplishing anything? No don't answer that....you may!
My take on the protesters, at least some of them,....is that they want to keep Caylee up front. Make sure she isn't forgotten all about while ms casey holes up in her comfy house, sleeps in her comfy bed with her favorite pillow and blankie and eats whatever she wants.
ALL those things that little Caylee should be doing.:(

Most of us agree with your assessment...
I just find it interesting that after all of that trauma, Cindy and George would still cover for Casey...Cindy couldn't have said it better on the jail tapes when she said something to the effect of ..."you're in jail because of your lies..." wow...so true. Then Lee called Casey on her lies as well. Since then there's been nothing but a 180 degree turn and that's most unfortunate. It's bs to give Cindy a pass and to try to understand her or George...
George still believes that the "kidnappers" are "being watched".
And OJ is still looking for the "real killers" too....

Casey and Cindy were in contact but that excluded Caylee altogether.

Certiorari, Cindy had been trying to talk to Caylee for 1 month. Casey always had excuses. TRUST me, Cindy knew a lot more about what was going on that she is letting on imo. She ALSO made 2 calls to the police before she ever mentioned Caylee was "KIDNAPPED".
She wasn't reporting ANYTHING Casey Did, just that Caylee was KIDNAPPED. Casey ALSO said give me until tomorrow to get Caylee. Cindy said NO. I have ALREADY GIVEN YOU A MONTH, I am not giving you another day.

Yeah you tell that to the 12 jurors that will convict her, don't bring your life's experiences or emotion in it.
There are MANY professionals on this board, and we all learn from them, and we as well understand the process of the law. It doesn't mean that we cannot have emotions over what has taken place so far in this case. Every penny donated to Casey Anthony's defense is for naught. She will be found guilty of the current charges and go to prison imo.

No, she's right.
casey was confiding to Lee at the house after CA had already made one or 2 of the calls. She found out what casey had told Lee and that is when the third "frantic" call was placed.
Ya know, where casey asks for one more day and CA says to her "I've already given you a month".
So......lots of truly needy people out there and casey is the last place I'd waste a penny. That money would do so much better with TES.
Where is Caylee and why won't casey tell? Becasue she doesn't want her or her body back.
Nice thing to be funding. <gag>

and Cindy, who had probably never been away from Caylee was reeling. She called and said bring the car back, Casey said she was in Jacksonville and couldn't, but then there's the tow letter. They get the car and get knocked up side the head with the odor of a dead body. They take things out of the car, clean them, and then call the police....oooops, no they didn't. Cindy goes looking and finds Casey, no Caylee. Zanny has her. Or is it Zanny and Samantha. Or is it Endora and Sireena, I forget.

Just because Cindy hadn't seen her for a month thanks to Casey's head games doesn't mean that Cindy really thought the child was missing.....just that Casey was once again playing head games with her. Then, she knew, after Casey told Lee. Then, Cindy made the 3rd 911 call.
