It is more normal for people to trip up and refer to a deceased person in the present tense than for people to refer to a living person in past tense.
You know, I just got off the phone with my mom. We were discussing Hurricane Ike and hoping that Texas pulls through with no loss of life.
I brought up my brother who died last spring. He loved "extreme weather" and followed big storms. I mentioned that it made me think of him, how he would be glued to the news reports and be recording stats on a tracking map. I have a very hard time speaking of him in the past tense.
I have to catch myself. It's automatic to say "he loves storms" rather than "he loved storms."

True...they could be waiting on Baez (and possibily Lee to show up....strength in numbers and all. Or LOL... the body guards could just be there in anticipation of the Friday night protesters and C, G, & Casey are laughing their arses off at the media right now.

I really believe there's a strong possibility that TES had located Caylee's body and that the pending new fraud charges are a strategical legal way in which to get Casey back into custody prior to filing homicide charge. I'm thinking it will all come together within the next 24 hours. The timeline seems to fit. IMO.

For some reason, Casey wanted Blanchard Park out there. She specifically says she even took Caylee there the last week in May and that she left Caylee w/ Zanny on 6/9 and she knew that Zanny liked to take her there too.

She is IMO covering in case they find Caylee there, same time frame, but it had to have been Zanny that left Caylee there, right? In her mind at least this gives her cover in case they find Caylee there.

In addition, Blanchard Park is mentioned to Lee regarding the lost phone.

Plus, the latest story of leaving Caylee in BP w/ Zanny & sister.

I would bet my bottom dollar, BP means something. Something dumped, maybe just a phone, maybe Caylee...

jmo.I agree that something she repeats that often in her storytelling is significant to Casey in some way. It may just be a place she is really familiar with and that has some personal meaning to Casey, but I won't be surprised to find it is something more sinister.
Maybe she and Caylee slept in the park nights she had no where to sleep ( or she alone, I sadly, don't think Caylee lasted long after they left the Anthony household). Maybe there is some evidence there or that is where she finalized things for Caylee and Casey is concerned that someone may have seen that or her carrying Caylee...( sorry for the euphemisms...I'm having a bad day).
It does mean something...the thing to find is WHAT it means.

Can I ask where you got the info about the registered letter being sent on July 11th, and notice found by the A's on the 13th. I've been looking for this for quite a while. I remember early in this case CA said the notice was on their front door for a couple of days before she saw it but she never said what date she found it.

June 30th to July 11th is over 2 weeks...I find it strange it would take that long to identify owner of car and send a letter.

very little about extended family. Cindy said she, her husband and her mother-in-law were watching tv when Casey was arrested the first time. so we know George's mother was around.

Thanks! I do think she had some plot to explain Caylee's disappearance and the car was part of it. A car jacking would explain why her purse was in the car, and she could say Caylee was in there too, and they made her get out of the car and stole Caylee along with the car. She could explain not telling anyone by saying they'd kill Caylee if she did.

I just can't think of any other reason she'd abandon it with her purse inside.

I think it just depends on what website you're listening to. Some websites have the audio tapes broken up into several 15-20 minute tapes and some just have like 2 larger audio file tapes. It's the exact same recordings..but some websites broke them up into shorter recordings for bandwith reasons.

I don't think I have ever asked someone for their birthday and had them say the number for the month. There's probably no significance to that, I just thought it odd she didn't say March.

I think you might be closer to the truth than you realize, with regards to a multiple personality disorder. She IS zany, and Zanny, too. When you read or listen to her police interviews talking about Zanny being proud, Zanny having no children, Zanny not giving any real information about herself to people, she is actually talking about her alter-ego. IT gives a whold new perspective and insight in listening to her with that in mind.

That's waht I tend to think...that Casey had to really THINK if she got rid of the remains or the car first because they happened in close time proximity to one another.
Of course we can determine which she did first, as she had no car after then until she had access to Amy's. But I think for a second that the question caught her off guard and she had to gather her wits before answering as the two things are tied together in her memory.

ETA: by the time she was questioned, the past was just another story to Casey, caylee was no longer a factor in her life so IMO every memory having to do with her was "shelved" and required Casey to actually think to get those answers. None of that time period was still at the forefront of her thoughts.

IMOShe sounds like Scarlett O'Hara. She sits on Zanny's steps for awhile, hoping they'll turn up, then she decides "I'll think about this tomorrow." Then she goes to Tony's and is her bright self, cooking and acting "fine." imo :flamemad:

That's waht I tend to think...that Casey had to really THINK if she got rid of the remains or the car first because they happened in close time proximity to one another.
Of course we can determine which she did first, as she had no car after then until she had access to Amy's. But I think for a second that the question caught her off guard and she had to gather her wits before answering as the two things are tied together in her memory.

ETA: by the time she was questioned, the past was just another story to Casey, caylee was no longer a factor in her life so IMO every memory having to do with her was "shelved" and required Casey to actually think to get those answers. I did not think it would really change how I felt about the case or Casey, my outlook has been pretty grim all along on everything. I wanted to hear how bad of a liar she is so I could get over some reservations i had about the enablers in this mess. She sounds to be worse at it than the jailhouse calls and transcripts led me to believe...thats surprising, cause I never gave her much credit.
I just don't think soomeone who knew her well for years, and knew her to be a liar w/o remorse for ehr wrongdoing can really be invested in honestly thinking her above wrongdoing. Yes, stealing is a far cry from murder, but it is one thing to believe it of a child who has been "a Joy" and another to suspect a child who has a long line of troubled bahavior...a child your own Myspace posting on July 3rd expressed deep concerns about, and a child you called a sociopath to her own frineds no less.
Denial just isn't realistic in the light of that...I'm not surprised if the whole family *chooses* to think it was an accident to give themselves some degree of comfort, but I don't believe they still really think Caylee is alive with some imaginary friend anymore. I don't think they ever really thought that past MAYBE the first few days. Once they saw Casey wasn't going to bring her back; point made and punishment to mom administered, I think they all three knew she was gone for good.

I say 02-19-** when asked my birthday at my doctor's office, or anytime I'm asked for the birthdate as identification. They ask you that now about 50 times when you go in for treatment. I guess they don't want to give you the wrong druuuugs. But in a casual conversation, if someone asked, I'd say February 19.

So for 26 weeks she made $3927.11, or $151 a week. She may have been fired for absenteeism. Those could not be full time salaries. They are below minimum wage.

Yes and if you break this amount down to 40 hours per week, that's only $3.77 and hour which doesnt sound right for minimum wage at the time. She must have missed lots of work, you are right, as usual.

I don't think I have ever asked someone for their birthday and had them say the number for the month. There's probably no significance to that, I just thought it odd she didn't say March.IMO thats something you say if you are acccustomed to filling out forms...maybe she had written it alot while filling out credit card apps. There hasn't been any mention of any cards in HER name...I found that odd. College aged kids get tons of offers, and AFAIK she didn't have any reason herself to have a bad credit history.
*admission of being bad here* I had my wrist broken by a client, lost that job and had to FIGHT for unemployment, etc. Relevant to this, because I Fibbed on a credit card app....BIGTIME. Before then I never used credit cards, but I was injured and out of work w/no money to take care of my eldest. As a single mom I had no options but taking gifts from friends and family, so I grossly misrepresented my income, and said I was and "artist" ( I am, I've always made some funds from my art, but never full time). I got several cards with rather large limits, no questions asked in short order and juggled money around on them to just survive until I got my settlement and the back payments due to me.
I'm surprised Casey just didn't lie and get her own cards at some time. They don't check your info very well or I never would have gotten any then. They just look up your social and credit history. She could have abused those for probably over a year as long as she came up with the minimium payments, no one would ever know.
I wonder if she DID have her own cards too?...maybe the stealing sprees this year were sparked by her own credit no longer covering her bases? Hopefully LE checked this too...probably anything awful she did though, she put on the credit of others or used cash for.

It's not that unusual, I do it all the time. Usually when people ask, its to fill out forms, so I got used to saying it like that. Hello everyone....this is my first post, although I have been lurking regularly for the past few weeks. I'm impressed with how intelligent and compassionate most of the people on this forum are, so if I say something really dumb, please forgive me. I was just wondering after having listened to the just released tapes about the possibility that ZFG really exists. Not that it's her real name. Someone previously posted that it sounded like she was homeless, and it make me wonder if perhaps Casey did leave her with a homeless person. That would explain why she left her on the steps but didn't know where she lived and the fact that she said she had seen ZFG at the old folks home. It could also explain about JB park. Maybe she slept there. Just a thought.

I have to say that I am really sad after listening to those tapes today.

I know that she is a liar, cold & heartless but hearing her just made me sick to my stomach, poor Caylee.

I can understand how easily her friends and family could be tricked by what she said, (not about this situation) if she is this calm and the lies are this thought out , if they did not check out her story they would have no idea.

I know it seems obivious to us she's lying, but we knew the truth before listening to her. If it weren't such a serious issue, we may believe every word she said. Normal people do not lie like this, and we tend to take people at face value without evidence to the contrary.

Keep in mind that probably no one (maybe her parents) has ever confronted her on her lies like the police did.jmo

I just listened to the part about Zenaida's roommates, and Casey said she only met them a handful of times because they had opposite schedules to hers. She didn't HAVE a schedule! Gawwwwwwwwr! This is in-freaking-credible!:flamemad:
At the end, while sitting in a room provided by TPTB at Universal, the detective asks her something about sending text messages. He asks her if she does that from work? She never even takes a breath - oh, usually from my phone. Oh yeah, the phone that was provided to her by US!
He must have been floored.
I bet those 3 threw a few back after they had her behind bars.

Did anyone else notice on part 2 of the tapes when they are trying to get her to admit to lying about Universal and all of that how she completely danced around admitting that she lied even though she knew there was no doubt she was caught? Her voice totally changed when she said "I lied" and it took forever to drag that out of her. For some reason it was interesting hearing her that uncomfortable... probably the most uncomfortable I've heard her so far.

You are right - I know the parents had to know she was a liar. Didnt I hear that she didn't tell her parents she was pregnant until the 7th month. She probably lied all along - even about the child's father. I have worked psy wards (as few as I could) and don't think I have ever seen anything like this. It is just flat out scary. moo

I know! Did she think they didn't catch on that she didn't work there, slipped their mind in the hour or so they were interviewing her? Did she think they possibly forgot? :)
