People stole them to sell for the price of the metal. But I have no link. So, in my opinion manhole covers are not too hard to remove.

Regarding moving a manhole cover.
I ran over one near my home once and somehow it ended up knocked croked. It was VERY heavy, not impossible for me to move, but heavy and awkward. I would think lifting it up would be the hardest part.
May I ask why you wonder? thinking caylee may have been dropped down one?
I noticed large covers for the ground tanks at the Gas Station the other day and wondered if LE thought to check any of the ones near the Amscot. It would have to be done in the middle of the night, one would risk being seen, but the ones at the station near my house are on the side of the store, so the employees at least wouldn't see you.
It did cross my mind that it would be a good place to drop evidence you didn't want found...I wonder if that volume of Gasoline would interfere for a scent dog?

Casey probably convinced them that they really don't hate cigarettes or convinced them that Zanny the Nanny has snuck to her window at night to let her know how Caylee is doing and that Zanny smokes and asked Casey to throw them away for her but gave her a script to hang onto the ciggy butts for 30 days until she was long gone and then she could throw them away.

I don't think TonE is involved in Caylee's disappearance either. BUT, LE thinks that Casey had help in her deed and is looking at at least one other person. Is that George, or Lee? Maybe someone else we don't know? Don't know yet - but we will!! I hope sooner than later!

I didn't get why Casey (?) would write a note to "Dad" to ask if LE was going to be there for the security? (per the picture of the note from the trash)... why the big secret? why not say that out loud? That seemed weird to me.

For the very short time TonE knew Casey, and the fact that she had to find somewhere else to stay while TonE was in NY, I don't see TonE being involved in this at all. He seems too smart to get involved in any type of "cover up" or in helping Casey with any of this nightmare. I think he just "wasn't that into her" and was trying to distance himself from her smothering him, as seemed when he didnt talk to her much when he was in NY. He was in school, working and seemed to have serious life goals for himself and he just got into a situation due to the ploys of the "black widow" he met. I believe he wishes he could hammer the truth out of her at this point!

ITA - I don't think he knows anything. He wasn't close to Casey, at all. But last week on NG, when they were talking about the car being seen in the Amscot parking lot at 7am and TonE not getting Casey till 10am. Lenny said something about that being hinky and it should be checked into.

IIRC, it was the same night that he offered the 50k for someone to tell him where Caylee's remains are,

If they had let Casey suffer the consequences for her thefts then, & had aided in bringing charges, they would not have had to spend much at all IMO to have at least temporary guardianship as Casey would have likely been in jail on theft charges. She would have had to settle for a public defender on those charges (no $, No Job) and would have been lucky to get 6 hours of his time total before being sentenced. Someone would have ahd to taken care of caylee then, and DCF would be happy to aid in allowing her to stay in her own home with loving grandparents IMO.
Caylee would still be alive too.....and none of us would know their names. It's too bad we don't get those type of second chances in life. I hope this will be a lesson for other parents enabling their grown children....I'm sure these thoughts have crossed Cindy's mind since. The guilt she has from second guessing herself is probably huge.

If LE is interested in their trash, I think there are still ways for them to get it. If one of the Anthonys suddenly starts driving their trash around, it shouldn't be enormously difficult for LE to figure out where they're dumping it.

Some of the stuff our "searcher" posters wrote after they got back was very calming. They couldn't come out and say anything but if you read between the lines, LE knows what they're doing and aren't too far off. They have TONS more information than we know. The DA might be holding LE to an awfully high standard too, we don't know. This case is driving these detectives NUTS. imo Plus the stuff that Tim's said in his recent interviews make me believe they're not buying the Anthony "crap" - NONE of them. Keep the faith. Maybe but I personally doubt it. I think the Anthony's are not going to pitch anything out that would be of value to LE. There are so many legal arguments, so as not to write a thesis ... a judge wouldn't allow it into evidence. Just a few:

1. A note from Cindy to George, or vica versa ... spousal privilege.

2. A note from Casey regarding the incident ... if written to document events for her lawyer ... privileged.

Then we get into evidence collection, chain of custody, etc. And probably would even get into illegal search and seizure ... even though the note was found in the trash, it was not in plain view.

I could go on, but that's a start.

WTH is a statement analysis? I just visited my favorite retired fbi profilers site to see if maybe he could help..seems there is someone there trying to build a BRACE Character Profile and is seeking some info on Casey. I signed up and am going to search for as much info as i can to help him out.

There are so many legal arguments, so as not to write a thesis ... a judge wouldn't allow it into evidence. Just a few:

1. A note from Cindy to George, or vica versa ... spousal privilege.

2. A note from Casey regarding the incident ... if written to document events for her lawyer ... privileged.

Then we get into evidence collection, chain of custody, etc. And probably would even get into illegal search and seizure ... even though the note was found in the trash, it was not in plain view.

I could go on, but that's a start.

ITA. I'm a small type person, but I lift weights sp I'm pretty strong, and I know from experience at work that they are fairly heavy and awkward to pick up, particularly if they are in place on the ground. no way i think that casey would go to all that trouble. I think she utilized a dumpster. MOO

Collecting someones trash and using it as evidence without a warrant has been already tested in court and it is legal. In fact it went all the way to the Supreme court.

Makes me sick,too!! The whole lot of them.
I know dumpsters are tall, but most have a door on the side that can be slid open...that's how the people get the trash into the dumpster (rather than having to toss it all up and over).

I was watching a Detective show last night on Bio. and they dug up a murdered man that was buried by the killer and they said it smelled so bad and was covered with maggots. Gross I know but the maggots have always made me think the body was buried for awhile anyway. So if the alligator thing is true would they have went after a body that decomposed? This is my thinking too. It has happened before. Young mom is smitten (and I do mean smitten) by man who does not want kid around. It certainly was the motive for Susan Smith.

This Casey was really hung up on Tony. I remember when she sat in jail (Tony did not contact her after police came to him) and asked for Tony's number. "Tony?" "You now, he's my boyfriend" replied Casey (in a proud voice). She eagerly danced her way in his club. He was young, good looking and owned a club. All the things this soical animal (Casey) wanted. The fact that she did not know his number meant that this was very early in a relationship. That she was more hung up on him and then he was. And she wanted him.

Channel 9 is outside. They've been here for some time. I went through the trash bag and found several interesting thuings. Too bad I didn't take ALL of the trash. I was hoping for something of Caylee's to send to Tim.

Oh boy do they read blogs!! They even print stuff out! Found a baseball cap that's ripped up. Maybe that's why Casey had to buy a new one. People are sending lots of money. The envelopes are there with the return addresses cut off. All states are sending money to them. Found a pizza with fuzz on it!!!!! Maybe they were experimenting. (still smelled like pizza though!)

I did manage to find what looks like a child's wrist band or hair schrunchie. Will see if Tim wants it. Also, broken beer bottle, cigarette stubs, and a LOT of riggatonis. Oh wait, also a note left from George that said "Sweetheart," I left at so and so time for work. Will have to get it and scan it. Channel 9 is outside writing his story and it should be on 6 and 9, at noon.

Channel 9 is still here. He's doing it again at 12:30. I told him about the cigarette butts, but he sid they could have come from a protester. Broken beer bottle in trash might have come from protesters too. More soon.

I really wish I had gotten the other bags. I don't know if their trash has been picked up yet. There were boxes and about 3 other bags. I have to wait until channel 9 leaves, because he wants to wash his hands.

I look like a goof today, because I was only going to the doctor's. I guess I should have gone over there when I had makup on and nice clothes! I look like a bag lady! LOL

No, they've been putting their trash out all along. Channel 2 just called me to find out what was in the bag. I told her that I couldn't understand why no one had been monitoring the trash. Channel 2 also said that Tim has things with Caylee's scent on it. I had been under the impression that Tim needed that and the Anthonys weren't cooperating.

The bag I picked up was heavy! Now they could have easily taken that poor child's body and thrown it in the trash. I just can't understand why no one has done this before.

I have to wait for the papers to dry out. They're not wet, but not completely dry. Then I can read them and scan them.

They did have their recycles stuff out there as well. A page or 2 back, I think there's a troll or one of the Anthonys. Don't want to say too much.

The cards that were thrown out were post cards, that haters sent. The other stuff was envelopes containing donations and cards, I would think. NO GREETING CARDS were in the trash. By that I mean, they didn't throw out any "good luck" cards or whatever. Maybe they were in the other bags.

Yes, today is trash day. The Anthonys and we have the same trash days. LE seems not to be interested in their trash.

Most of the print outs in the trash were from websleuths.com. Have never gone there, but there are a lot of pages printed from there.

I do not live a few blocks away. I live a few miles away. The reporters came to my house. Channels 6 and 9.

I didn't want to take the risk of getting all of the bags, because as I told the reporters, I was afraid of Cindy and her hammer.
