Good Evening everyone. For the first time I actually worked instead of reading message boards all day and being consumed with this case. I'll have to admit I kept the "Links Only" thread up and checked occassionally. So today- Casey is spending all day with her attorney, a woman dug through the Anthony's trash, and they are being offered millions for interviews and movie rights (that really makes me sick). Did I miss anything else? I can't stand the fact that LE has all this info but still has not made an arrest. No one is "publicly" searching for little Caylee anymore.... Do I have all of today's events summed up or am I missing anything?

Thank you- I love this board- I go here for all my updates.Sounds to me like you have gotten the jist nicely.

I am fascinated with the amount of money being offered. I guess this story is selling.

http://www.wesh.com/news/17432283/detail.html

Casey finally went to work! " Mom, I am bringing in upwards of $1 million."

If the printouts are true...and she is surfing message boards...as I read elsewhere...she will certainly have a good supply of "new" scenarios to give her lawyer. (Wonder why she printed them out, why not just peruse?)

She is probably angry at her parents now..."OMG, you people embarrass me!"

House arrest very often comes with provisions.

You're taking "house arrest" far too literally.

And you are taking a poi in her daughters missing case..a little to lightly..imo.

Thank you Carol25.

One more question- let's just say she agreed to one of these "deals" IMO she will be prosecuted for the current charges she has- max I believe is 17 years- from my understanding the judicial system will let them out in half the time, which will be 8 1/2 years- she'll be out before she's 30 and all of a sudden be a millionaire???? Is serving half the time still happening in our jail system??? From her standpoint that won't be too bad- she'll have no Caylee responsibilities and she'll move on with her life. This is all IMO IF they cannot pin her for the "big" charge a lot of us are waiting for.
I have often thought what would happen if she plead guilty to the neglect charges and then only got the 17. Once she plead guilty, they couldn't charge with murder unless they found it had nothing to do with neglect but premeditated murder...if I'm right. Don't know.

And they do often put them on parole much earlier. :(

Good points, AustinsMama!

Any other updates on the UCF area, being one of the three locations LE think Caylee might be at?

I find it very interesting that the 3 places she was , one was south, one north and now one east.

I bet you she put her near Universal and close to where Jesse lives, which is west of Anthony home. If she was a fan of CSI, I think she would have turned her cell phone off.

http://www.wftv.com/news/17431720/detail.html

Investigators apparently will have to find some other way to explain why, two days after Caylee disappeared, Casey traveled to an area near UCF where there are woods and water, and to similar areas by the airport and Jay Blanchard Park, out of the way places for her considering her routine.

Investigators will also have to find some other way to find out why Casey had a dinnerware knife in the car that she abandoned, the car where investigators now say they believe Caylee's body had been.

Looking for evidence should be left up to the police, not the general public. This woman wasn't going to find Caylee in that trash bag and even if there had been evidence in it it wouldn't have been useful in court. CHain of custody went right out the window.

 You nailed it.

Oh right....I agree.....it's the POINT OF IT, for so many. But what are ya gonna do? Have an ulcer over it? Become one of the "protesters" and go sit on a lawn chair in front of the Anthonys' house because you're so mad about all this you could scream? What good is that going to do. The law is the law is the law. The law WILL catch up with Casey, I have no doubt. I think she killed her daughter. Whether accident or premeditated, I'm undecided. But she will pay. I have no doubt.....I have so much faith in LE. Ya know, I have SO many other concerns/problems/issues in my OWN life, I just won't waste my energy being furious about Casey or her family.

The point, Savannah, is that this woman has harmed her child. And yes it makes me angry. I look at her behavior and it makes me sad as well. There is a child that is no longer with us and not one person, who supposedly loved her, is doing a thing about finding her. Good luck with your issues.

Why don't they get her a huge flatscreen? Or...a CAR! Shes so deserving of laptops and just about anything she wants....if it was my kid in this situation, she would not even be getting FOOD from DH and I until she talked.
ITA!!!!! They continue to let her use Caylee as a weapon (we don't want to push her away or she will never tell us what really happened to Caylee JMO.) I think it's disgusting to say the least. One day they are going to have to face the fact that they are rewarding their daughter for killing hers, with blood money no less. I have a really hard time feeling sympathy for them when they continually choose Caseys comfort over finding their grandaughter.:flamemad:

Does no member of Team Casey realize that the only thing the public wants to hear from that bunch is 1) What happened to Caylee? and 2) Where are her remains?

If that ship of fools thinks they're going to do themselves any favor with a PR blitz, they are dangerously mistaken. They will only escalate the situation by saying a blinking word about anyone in that family other than Caylee.

that noise that went through NY was my brain attempting to understand why this family is profiting from this child's disappearance.

I hope they read this. I hope they save it and they read it every day. They disgust me. They won't look, they won't help the people who are looking, they won't tell anything that might help bring that little girl peace, they won't cooperate with anyone, they won't do a gosh darned thing but they're willing to rake in a couple million over it all?

what's wrong with that picture?
I have tried to understand the GPs feelings and their pain and confusion but they're using this little girls tragedy as a cash cow and I'm actually sick at the thought. They're making money off a missing child and chastising the world for not looking? dear lord. That's just wrong. So very very wrong.

And they will be laughing all the way to the bank. Everytime I see Casey and Lee yesterday doing the high five with a big smile, I realize that Caylee means nothing to the family anymore except as a means to make money for Casey's defense. Of course they are going to need a lot of money, since Casey is at her attorney's office five days a week. I am a seventy one year old grandmother, I wonder how much time JB would spend with me!

The thing about being out of jail on bail is that you get more personal freedom. The restrictions are supposed to focus on making sure you don't flee plus you promise to obey all laws (which you should be doing anyway.) I personally was surprised at the "refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages" condition since that does not seem particularly relevant in this case as opposed to in a DUI or public drunkenness case. According to the Home Confinement booklet posted in the links, "Intoxicants (alcohol etc.)" are not even permitted to be "in your residence" which seems kind of unfair to the other people living there. Cindy in particular strikes me as the sort of person who enjoys a drink or two, and I think George could use a few drinks to maybe calm himself down.

I don't really see much difference between her being at home during those 6 hours or being in a law office for 6 hours. I have spent thousands of hours in law offices and you can trust me when I tell you that they are just not as exciting as the TV shows make them look. In fact, other than being able to use the toilet without an audience, most law office cubicles are not very different from modern jail cells (the type that uses a lot of thick glass/plexiglass instead of bars). In fact a jail cell might be larger than the office I had when I worked in the inhouse law office of Coregis Insurance. And to the extent that she is reading or using computers or having her hair and nails done or whatever, those are all things that she could do at home as well. Maybe Mr. Baez has his law office rigged up with a dance club or rollercoaster rides or something special but I doubt it.

Besides, maybe getting her out of the toxic atmosphere of the Anthony family residence will do some good. No drugs, no alcohol, no party, surrounded by normal law-abiding people, gently pressured by her lawyer to cooperate and give him a rational story so that he can prepare her defense. Maybe if she spends enough time in the lawyer's office, outside the ongoing power-struggle / pretend-it-never-happened situation with her mother, Casey will come to her senses.

For those who can't watch:
Police are heavily searching wooded area near UCF campus. This is breaking news search.
Dinner knife in Casey's car
Protesters there at the house around the clock.
Digging through the Anthony's trash.
So much chloroform in trunk air was saturated with it.
All indicators show that it was little Caylee in the trunk
Lorraine the infinite weirdo...believes that Caylee was drugged by Zanny (Xanax) and went bonkers and took some of the Anthony's garbage. IMO she will probably put the items up for auction on EBay.
Lorraine thinks that since Casey is on the computer 24/7 maybe she printed out stuff the Anthony's didn't shred before throwing it away.
Reports that Casey is spending al that time at Baez's because they think the home is bugged.
Mark Williams reporter on NG: New area being searched. Breaking news. Investigators looking into heavily wooded area near UCF campus. Lots of woods and water. Casey was out there during time Caylee was missing. Le is keeping it close to the vest why they are searching in this particular area. We don't know if pings led them there or what.
Casey did lie about attending college but it wasn't at UCF. It was Valencia Community College that she lied about attending.
How are police centering in on this NG wonders? It is flooded she says. LE not revealing why it is that they are searching this particular area.
WFTV's Kathy B.: It was cell phone records. That she had visited three areas, one near UCF, a place she would n't normally frequent after Caylee went missing. The area is easy to get in and out of off a toll road. Pretty remote area. Not a lot of traffic. Out of Casey's routine. No real reason for her to be there.
Cops focusing on brand new area for search near UCF. University of Central Florida. Flooded area and heavily wooded. Not a far drive from where the car was left.
Soil samples could have been taken from the car to narrow the area for the search down according to one of the NG's experts.
NG talking about cell phone pings.
NG is showing cell phone ping tower map.

Roomie of Casey when Caylee went missing. Tony's roomie, Nate. He is blacked out so you can't see him. Nate was staying with Tony until Tony's lease ended. He was there during the full time that Casey was pretty much shacking up their with Tony. Nothing to be suspicious about Casey's behavior. Nate and Tony are full time students. Casey did their laundry and cooked dinner for them in the evenings while Caylee was missing. Pasta and things like that. Never mentioned that Caylee was missing. They were under the impression that Caylee was with the nanny.
Thank you for the update!!

Cindy' statement on July 28th:
http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2008/7/29/369158.html

Family Revealing Strain

"I actually went to a park -- just myself, just to make myself feel like I was actually doing something -- just to see if I could see at one of the parks that Casey and Caylee used to go to, and it gave me peace, just to sit there at the pavilion and watch other children and answer my messages, but I felt like I did something," Cindy Anthony said.

best regards,
Pru

I am so happy you found this quote. I few days ago I was talking about it and could not find it for the life of me.
This particular statement really bothered me. She felt peace watching the other children while her grandaughter according to her has been kidnapped? How? She felt as though she did something by answering messages? Not handing out fliers and asking anyone and everyone if they had seen this beautiful little girl?
I cannot begin to imagine having a missing child, the minutes must be like days and the days an eternity. How can any peace be felt while someone you love so much is not with you and who may be frightened, crying, calling for her mommy, daddy, nanna, grampa? When my baby girl died I felt as though I had died to, every moment of every day seemed hopeless, I lost my faith and for a while I lost my will to live, over time I was able to learn to breath again, slowly the will to live came back and through her I was able to find a whole new beauty in life, for her I look twice at the flowers, for her I listen extra close to the birds singing.
I know where she is, physically and I know where she is spiritually. And as hard as it was, knowing does offer a sense of peace, not knowing, I cannot imagine how that would be. Cindy, and I am talking about her because she is the one who made the statement, seems to have a peace about her, one that is not had with a missing (grand)child, but rather one that comes with the finality of knowing.
I know I have rambled and I apologize, probably does not even make that much sense. I just cannot understand this reaction, it does not seem imo, to be the reaction of someone panicked with not knowing if their loved one is ok. I am not trying to preach, I am merely speculating and trying to relate best I can by drawing on my own life experiences.

I bet the lady who sorted through the trash gets on NG or gets her findings in print in the Globe and I bet she gets alot of money for it. She'd be making money off of Caylee. What are your thoughts on that?

Well we did not need for them to tell us she was going to Baez everyday just to get away from house because she thinks it is being bugged.
Does't that still constitute fraud on her part for leaving home to go to attorneys for no real good reason such as working on her case

I find it disturbing that you have already decided this woman will sell all to a tabloid and have proceded to judge her a money grubber, before the fact. I do not agree with your characterization.

Thank you so much for that nice compliment!

I too am heartbroken about Caylee. I look at her photos and feel like crying......there was just something about her, that made her so special to me. :(

But I want the justice system to do its work, and I know that will happen. I have faith. I cannot doubt it. And I cannot not spend my time crying and getting angry. I so appreciate this board.....to "talk".

Thank you again.

Great post, Savannah, and so sensible. I've tried to stay away from these boards, but I always get sucked back in. One of the reasons is that one of my three granddaughters is three years old, also. She is so cute and funny, and so innocent.
