I agree. I think the gp's are victims in this case. I think their behavior is deplorable, but I think it's due to denial and desperation more than anything.
ITA with you and barbara.
It's not. IMO Baez knows the tension going on in that house and wants to keep them seperated as much as possible.
I didn't see any tension in the hi-five exchanged between Lee and Casey...seems the only ones tense about little Caylee's disappearance are people that have come to know her after she became missing. JMO.

Yes, but to further complicate matters - if the searches were before 6/15 it most likely means premeditation, and after 6/27 probably means Casey was looking for ways to clean the trunk
True dat!

Thanks to everyone for your responses about the hours spent with a client. I don't know how to quote several people yet and probably never will. :)
If Casey was still in jail, can a lawyer spend 6 hours a day every day there, or is it different because she is out? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I am learning.

I have just an off the wall question...
The "high five" When and where did that occur??
And what possible reasons can you think of that you would be smirking and 'high fiving' while your child is missing??
because I can only come up with "victory of not being caught in my crime" type thought...
Anyone??
I know it seems like a minor gesture...
but nevertheless, it just doesn't seem 'right'
Even if you were 'overjoyed' with some evidence of where your child was...lets say ZGF was located (and you're innocent)....and you found out about this 'lead'...
I can see you hugging, crying some hopeful tears...
But smirking and high fiving :shrug:
I actuallt thought when t his happened, that they were high fiveing because they got in the doors without being mauled by a crowd. I am sure I could be wrong on this though

It's not really that abnormal before going to trial...
It takes hours and hours to prepare for trial especially with complexed cases.
However, (and this is my opinion), I don't really see what they are "preparing" for...
no charges have been brought.....YET
And if Casey isn't talking, then what can you possibly be doing for hours day after day??
UNLESS she is talking...
She COULD be talking to him and they could be guessing at what the state has and how they're going to put the spin on that.
They very easily can access the publics opinion and put a spin on it. Never wondered why how the family comments seem to correlate to what's being questioned, even here on the board?
Well Baez did say that he is preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.
I think both he and Casey knows what is coming, even though they haven't charged her yet, he is not stupid, he knows they eventually will imo.

Pretrails don't amount to anything really...
Just kinda a status update for the courts
:confused: A pretrial is held to see if a case will go to trial.

We have a lot of fire ants where I live. We tried cornmeal after I read about it online... didn't work. We bought some stuff at Lowe's and it works for the mounds we put it on. But then we would find another mound somewhere else. They are very hard to get rid of. Our house sits on 10 acres, and we maintain a whole acre.. those little critters keep popping up different places all summer. I have NEVER heard of anyone using chloroform for killing any insects.
OK this is O/T but when we lived in FL we tried all kinds of chemicals to get rid of them and what we found works best is to take a shovel full from one mound, place it on another and take a scoop of another and add it to another,, Fire Ants are territorial they will fight to the death..

Yeah, I can't figure it out either. Maybe excited that they came through the media with no issues this time? :shrug: That's the only other thing I can think of...either way, I can't imagine what would take my mind off of my missing child long enough for a smirk and a hi-five. Nothing at that point would cause me to celebrate, except finding my missing child. That's just me though.

Do we know if chloroform can be found in hair? That would interest me, I have been wondering if she used chloroform on those yapping dogs.
I wonder if the garbage was setting outside for a day or two, before being placed in the trunk, I have a hard time figuring out how flies got in the trunk. Do you think if a window was left open a crack, that they could get to the trunk that way?
Speculation: When she dumped Caylee, she grabbed a bag or 2 of garbage from the dumpster and put it in her trunk. That would be telling as to which dumpster she used

IMO, that may well be what led LE to photograph a particular dumpster, and may have even led to some trace evidence that has yet to be reported. I think the bag ended up in the trunk as an attempt to "explain" the smell. In my area there is a Pizza place in nearly every stirp mall, isn't the Amscot in a strip or mini mall? Even if not, I know it has been reported as near shopping,etc.

Some posters have wondered how could it be that the smell of decomp. was not noticed while Casey's car was sitting in the tow yard prior to George picking it up. Well, here's a story I just read this morning about a completely different case that has some similar aspects. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080909/ap_on_re_us/toddler_in_trunk
In this case, the mother's deceased child was in the trunk when her car was towed to a tow yard... he was in there for the six weeks the car was there. The mother may even have been driving around with her dead child in the trunk for a couple of months before she was pulled over for driving erratically and had her car towed by cops. So the policeman smelled nothing, tow truck driver smelled nothing and guys at the yard smelled nothing. And yet the child's body was in the trunk.
..and temps in the area were in the 100's, however that smal boy was wrapped up in a blankey and then put into a plastic bag( I'm assuming a garbage bag). I don't know if your article mentions that his mom also told people different stories on where her son was and who was taking care of him:(

If it was that Sunday or Monday, no, I just cannot imagine things were fine around that house & there was not chaos as she was trying to leave .... unless George was just doing like some men do & pretending it wasn't happening & if you ignore it, it'll go away. But I have a feeling Casey was livid & I bet George wanted to smack her, just my opinion.

This board goes super fast so someone may have already post a reply to your question but here is what I found,
Adult alligators are apex predators critical to the biodiversity of their habitat. They feed mainly on fish, turtles, snakes, and small mammals. However, they are opportunists, and a hungry gator will eat just about anything, including carrion, pets and, in rare instances, humans.
I missed joolz question. They do eat bone, but it takes a very long time for them to digest.
Here's a story about a gator. They usually cut them open to make sure they found the guilty gator.

I was hoping yesterday to see some additional news from LE...I'm beginning to think that the leaks are going to stop. The Sheriff has been trying to calm the public down and I think LE is getting tired of all the madness happening outside the Anthony home.

Well he can't lie...
and he can't allow his defendent to lie---in the court anyway.
Which is why you see defendents refusing to take the stand.
And usually the attorneys will just kinda do the "don't tell me thing" to protect themselves against perjury (though that's taken a broad approach IMO)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even if he KNOWS his client is guilty, his job is still to see the justice system carried out by ensuring she gets a 'fair trial' and place that "reasonable doubt" in place.
What I don't get is how you can honestly defend someone that you know is guilty like that??
SUPPOSEDLY they believe her stories and think she's innocent...
Shouldn't you be pretty smart to finish lawschool?? LOL I mean it takes a complete *Ahem* to fall for those stories.
But you need to trust you client...and your client needs to trust you...so lets say all was 'admitted' in that 'confidentiality' factor or you just 'know'...
How could a human being defend that?!?!
Its not like George punched her in the face, this protesting isn't going to change anything, Casey isn't going to crack because of their presence, its wishful thinking. That woman is already too absorbed, and now she is on Nancy Grace, I am sure this is fun for her, and now she gets to continue to see these people in court, like they dont have enough on their plate as it is. mooShe was standing on the sidewalk. That same little silverish car was there a little while ago.. seen the reporters at the end of the driveway ,, mics in hand,, looked like they were asking questions from afar,, not sure if Casey was leaving with that person..
right after that,, they came closer to the web cam and was interviewing someone just out of view..Didn't Casey already leave? Her hours with Baez are 10-4. :confused:
Well he can't lie...
and he can't allow his defendant to lie---in the court anyway.
Which is why you see defendants refusing to take the stand.
And usually the attorneys will just kinda do the "don't tell me thing" to protect themselves against perjury (though that's taken a broad approach IMO)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even if he KNOWS his client is guilty, his job is still to see the justice system carried out by ensuring she gets a 'fair trial' and place that "reasonable doubt" in place.
What I don't get is how you can honestly defend someone that you know is guilty like that??
SUPPOSEDLY they believe her stories and think she's innocent...
Shouldn't you be pretty smart to finish lawschool?? LOL I mean it takes a complete *Ahem* to fall for those stories.
But you need to trust you client...and your client needs to trust you...so lets say all was 'admitted' in that 'confidentiality' factor or you just 'know'...
How could a human being defend that?!?!
That is why I think Casey will never testify. She would be made into chop liver on the stand due to her consistent lies. She would bring more baggage than an airport has. lol
LOL I have heard so many talking head defense attorneys say that a client will lie to them in a blink of an eye and they know they are lying.
I do think she trusts him to solve all of this but he would have to be dumb as dirt if he trusts his client's honesty and truthfulness.

So, it begs the question, when did the internet searches of chloroform occur and did Cindy have access to it in her work as a nurse? .
I've seen this mentioned several times... it was my understanding that chloroform was an outdated method of anesthesia - not something that a doctor's office would be currently using.... also - isn't the office where Cindy works and Orthopedic office? I would suppose most of those type injuries would be treated with local pain killers - not totally putting a patient "under". JMHO and I am also *not* a scientist nor a medical professional :)

I sure wish LE had found the maggots in the vehicle. They can determine so much from bug evidence.
Was there something she had put in the bag that had been laying in the trunk with Caylee and it wasn't the pizza but perhaps the bodily fluids that made the maggots be there? Just thinking out loud.
After she discarded Caylee she may have gathered up everything that was strewn about in the trunk and put it all in the bag. Something that was in the bag may have come in contact with Caylee's body first, imo.

The way I look at it is this. If the Anthony's aren't oing to try and bring Caylee home or try and find her then someone needs to. If we all take the stance that The Anthony's don't care why should we? Then poor Caylee will never be found and properly laid to rest with some dignity. IMO

Something that was in the bag may have come in contact with Caylee's body first, imo.
imoo
You could be right about gathering stuff up and putting it in the bag...I had thought earlier that maybe she changed clothes and perhaps a top needed to be thrown away.
LE does have the bag so they must have the maggots also and I wish they would let us have some information on the contents....the maggots can actually contain the DNA of what they were feeding on which I thought was amazing.

From Greta's interview:
"GEORGE ANTHONY: Uh-huh.
That's when I saw my daughter. I was getting ready to go to work, and the garage door goes open and my daughter comes in. This is about 2:25, 2:30 in the afternoon on the 24th. As she comes in the house, and I said, Hey, how're you doing? And she says, Fine, Dad. I says, Well, what's going on? And she says, Oh, I'm just stopping home for about 10 minutes, get some clothes. I go to go back to work. Where's Caylee? She's with Zanny. And I said, OK, when are you guys coming home? She says, Oh, we'll be back home maybe late tonight or the next day.
I said, OK. Have you been talking to Mom? Oh, yes, I talk to Mom every day. I said, I know, but did you talk to Mom today? She sort of hesitated for a moment and she says, Yes. And she says, Oh, by the way, it's a shame what happened in the shed. And I said..."
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,398490,00.htmlThank you. I've been searching for that. The 24th is when he made the report that the cans were stolen. Guess that's why it stuck in my mind.

Yes, but to further complicate matters - if the searches were before 6/15 it most likely means premeditation, and after 6/27 probably means Casey was looking for ways to clean the trunkI think you're so right. So simple, and yet so important. However, I really don't see Casey just coming up with the idea of chloroform as a cleaning agent.

The protestors overall really don't bother me. (so long as they respect the neighbors)
I firmly believe you have every right to stand up for what you believe and voice yourself on it...
I don't agree with having your children out there with signs, but that's my preference.
I'd rather see them searching than protesting, but heard the lady last night state they were protesting after aiding in the search, which made me feel better.
But in all honesty, what I don't understand is "why", what are you protesting for??
I mean, if you're against something, lets say abortion (because it's probably the most protested)...then protest...try to change the law.
Or heck, we're in political craziness right now...for us "ladies", you know many a lady was beating or worse because they protested for our right to vote.
I guess what I mean is protesting isn't going to change whatever has happened, it's not going to bring Caylee home and I highly doubt it's going to make Casey "spill", so what are you protesting for??
Just to "express" yourself?
I believe it's safe to assume all of us are disgusted with this situation, but what good does self expressing hate do?? Relieve our stresses for a bit??
Again, I'd just rather see a more beneficial stance...
Searching, Donating, Advocating for other Missing Persons...
If I recall correctly, TES (Tim) would like to have volunteers or kind of 'substations'...in every state, so that they can help more people and be quicker in responding to missing person cases.
So if you're so passionate about 'doing something', but not sure what you can do...
Do that!!
It's going to be alot more helpful than holding a sign.

Now is this the same day that he confronted Casey about stolen gas and wanted to look in the trunk of her car and she did a little bit of nervousness about him in her trunk and I think I remember she want out and got the cans herself, and in that statement George said something about her lying. Am I crazy? Didn't I read that somewhere awhile back?She didn't want George to go in her trunk. He was wanting the wheel wedges, to rotate tires. He said they were in her trunk. She insisted she'd get them, but George went out and opened the trunk and saw the gas cans, according to him.
So, the last time George saw Caylee was on the 16th?

Oh I didn't know that. I thought the towing yard threw the bag over the fence when George came to pick the car up.
I am sure LE looked for it and I pray they did find it. If any of it had human decomposition in it......it shows not only that Caylee was in the trunk but they could even tell how long she mostly likely had been dead, if they found the maggots too and that she tidied up the trunk by gathering the items in the trunk after Caylee died. Shows such coldness imo.
imoo
I found this with a google search.
LE picked up the bag at 2200 on 7/16 from Johnson's Towing.

Hi Winnie,
Good post. I really don't mind the protesters either, or even think about them much, except when I see all the 'protester bashing' that goes on here.
I think it's very disturbing that the protesters are drawing more anger from many people than the Anthonys are. Maybe that's the state of the society we live in today, but it's very troubling, IMO. So many want to talk about Casey's constitutional rights, and the rights of George and Cindy to protect their daughter no matter what, and also act like fools in front of the media and the public. From a moral perspective, it should be only Caylee's rights that are of concern at the moment.
I think the protesters are angry, and I certainly understand that. I don't think they'd be there at all if George and Cindy didn't seem to be colluding with Casey to tell nothing but lies about what happened to Caylee. I think if George and Cindy had reacted normally to the situation by standing by their daughter as she TOOK RESPONSIBILITY for what she's done, there'd be no protesters outside their home.
I think it's the fact that the whole family just seems so horrible in the way that they act and think, and when you imagine that beautiful child laying alone and utterly lost out there somewhere, well - I think it's normal human emotion to be very, very fed up with the Anthonys. I think it takes a pretty sick person to focus on the protesters instead of the Anthonys.
I do think there are better ways for the protesters to channel their anger and sorrow. But those here who imagine they are superior human beings by keeping the Anthonys (except Caylee's) rights at the forefront are very misguided people, IMO. We can worry about the Anthonys rights after they've shown us they are human beings. The way they can do that is to hold Casey responsible and get to the truth of what happened to Caylee and where her remains can be recovered.

GA is ex - LE.He was a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio. That's how they refer to wives/ husbands on police reports so it probably came natural to him.IMO
He's been X-LE longer than he was LE so you would think that his language would have reverted back to a more common way of referring to his loved ones. Children are called dependents on quite a few forms that he's probably completed in his lifetime but I don't hear him referring to Lee or Casey as his dependents. But, it's probably nothing of significance anyway...carrying a ha m m e r probably means more than calling Cindy his spouse. jmo
