I would imagine both are expecting to be called to be witnesses and may need advice, much as Gloria Allred, a defense attorney, represented Amber Frey when she was a witness at Scott Peterson's trial. Neither George nor Cindy is charged with a crime so it wouldn't be a conflict of interest. [/*]
Gloria Allred will correct anyone who calls her a defense attorney; she prefers "victims advocate." (Heard her say that on Greta or some other show.) :D

Only if Casey invokes her right to speedy trial.
Which Baez most certainly will do.
He wants to catch LE and the Prosecution with their pants down.
(Oh wait, that didn't come out right. He wants them unprepared to go to trial with the evidence they have now. That's why I hope they take their sweet time! )

Yes they do, but one our legals would have to tell you how long. I also think alot depends on the defense. If they demand a speedy trial I think it's 120 days.
But, don't take my word for it....I'm not a legal and I could be wrong.

Interesting article:
Several neighbors said they are fed up with the chaos the case has brought to their neighborhood.
"We have been putting up with this for six weeks," a neighbor said. "My kid can't play outside, and we can't leave the house without people trying to run us over."
Some people said they refuse to leave the Anthony house or neighborhood until Casey Anthony is returned to jail.
"We are going to be here every night until she comes out (with the truth)," protester James Harris said.

Wow, just what we were talking about earlier today....the neighbors and their poor kids....

I go back to the dumpster, too, but I don't believe it was the one she parked the car next to. I think she placed the little one in a dumpster at the apartment complex and the reason she parked the car next to a dumpster was because of the smell. She wanted somebody to take the car and would think the smell was from the dumpster.

tia [/*]
I think it's 120 days, but I'm not sure.
You are correct, right now she doesn't want a speedy trial 'cause she's at home.
However, if she's charged with Murder, she's probably not going to get bail and she will stay locked up until her trial.

I heard that neighbor woman tell how her children couldn't play outside because of the gnomes, and how they can't leave their house without fear of being run over. To me, that's going way to far! Those neighbors had nothing to do with what happened to Caylee.

I think if LE believed Caylee was placed in a dumpster, they would have asked TM to search the landfills. Instead, they appear to be concentrating their searches in the area north of the OIA.

Isn't that awful? Unfortunately the gnomesare wasting their time. The Anthony's don't get shamed into anything. Why is it that normal intelligent people are never the ones that seek the media. If anything happens around here the media always talks to some one-tooth citizen in a wifebeater scratching his belly. Then it goes out on the news and it's so humiliating with your city written right below it. This bunch looks kinda lazy....any protest worth it's salt you wouldn't sit around in lawn chairs with your kids running around...protests are supposed to be about passion not comfort. Sheesh!

I dont know
I try not to even watch any news videos on this unless my daughter is in bed.
I she is up when I catch something--I quick click out of it.
I was looking at pics a couple weeks ago and she came over to my screen and was looking as I x'd out.
a few nights ago I was putting a vid on my comp for her to watch from the agc kids site & during her watching it, a locked up news broadcast popped up on the screen, she saw caylee & said 'awwww'.
I just tell her that little girl is lost, her name is caylee and no one can find her.
I dont know what those people are thinking trying to 'protest' with a child-of any age- in front of the anthony house.
yea, I look at the webcam, but that is a ton different than actually planting myself in front of the house trying to get a rise out of them.
again, so sad.
that little girl is still out there on someones lap.
she needs to get home, play with her babies & go to bed.

Look at it this way, when it comes to the protesters at least we know where their children are.
At two or three, that child doesn't know what the sign says, but knows she is with her mother. So far I haven't seen any abuse being inflicted on her and she seems perfectly content.
We know that she wasn't drugged and left somewhere, she isn't decomposing in her mother's car trunk and no one is shifting garbage in a landfill or wading through a bug infested swamp looking for her.
I think the reason these women aren't out looking for Caylee is because they have children to care for. Maybe they aren't able to afford a sitter everyday and are unwilling to drug or abandon their children to join in the search.
They want to express their outrage and are doing so by protesting. I may not think it's accomplishing much, but at least their kids aren't going to be the next to come up missing, like Caylee.

There were posts way earlier saying the Anthonys were sitting in cars - perhaps to have privacy?
I missed the gun retrieval event - does anyone have a brief summary of how it happened?

But then I did participate in a protest years ago when my neighbors and I blocked a street to keep some construction equipment from tearing up our road... lol, It only worked for 2 days.. they tore up the street anyways...

Hi everyone,
This is my first post so I hope i'm doing everything right.
I have truly enjoyed reading all the posts in the past, you guys are great and very insightful.
I at first thought little Caylee was in a landfill which was why Casey was so cocky, she knew she would never be found. However, I now think if that were true the Anthony's would be more coorperative with Tim Miller, why not, he wouldn't be looking in the right place right? Now its almost as if he is a threat to them and they seem to definitely not want Caylee found. Its like he is getting close and as he gets closer, they get meaner. Just my opinion.
Also, the little blue book bag they found yesterday, has anyone heard if that by chance belonged to Caylee?

Under Florida's rules of criminal procedure, every person charged with a felony must be brought to trial within 175 days. If that doesn't happen, a defendant may file papers to force a trial that must then occur within 15 days, or the charge will be dismissed.
The same rules let defendants demand a speedy trial within 60 days of indictment. If a defendant is not brought to trial within 50 days of the filing of that demand, he may file notice that effectively sets a 15-day period in which a trial must be held, or the charge will be dropped.
Florida's new law, originally H.*. 285, creates a process by which a state attorney can file a demand for a speedy trial if the state has met its obligations under the rules of discovery and the court has granted at least three continuances, or delays, over the objection of prosecutors. Before such a demand can be filed in a felony case, though, 125 days must pass from the day that formal charges were filed and the defendant is arrested. For a misdemeanor, that time limit is 45 days.
When a state attorney files a speedy trial demand, a judge must schedule a calendar call within five days to set a trial date. Trial must then commence "no sooner than five days or later than 45 days," although the law allows for further postponements if a "necessary" witness failed twice to show up for deposition or a defense lawyer withdrew due a conflict of interest or other "good legal cause."

Some people said they refuse to leave the Anthony house or neighborhood until Casey Anthony is returned to jail.
"We are going to be here every night until she comes out (with the truth)," protester James Harris said.

of course, everyone on this board is entitled to their opinion.
all the peoples opinions in front of the anthony house is showing that they are having their kids sit out there so they can prove some kind of point.
a silly point if you ask me, since from what I watched, no one in the anthony family even acknowledged they were out there today.
My opinion is on here-Im not sitting in front of the anthony house for hours with my 19 month old daughter on my lap.
my daughter is in bed, sleeping.
while I saw what they were doing on the cam--my daughter played with her toys, played with her computer, ate dinner, had a snack & went off to bed.
