Shhhhhhhhhh Toby not so happy please...lol.

We had our first preseason last night.. Niner's vs. Raider's in Oakland.. of course it wasn't sold out so the game was blacked out... probably just as well Niner's lost and we sucked big time..

Looks like a ugly season ahead... again.
Wish Joe would come out of retirement or one of his kids would grow up really quick..

SIGH....:(

GENE UPSHAW DIES AT AGE 63 (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8474752/NFLPA-head,-Hall-of-Famer-Upshaw-dies-at-63?MSNHPHMA)

Gene Upshaw, the Hall of Fame guard who during a quarter century as union head helped get NFL players free agency and the riches that came with it, has died. He was 63.

Upshaw died Wednesday night at his home in Lake Tahoe, Calif., of pancreatic cancer, which was diagnosed only last Sunday, the NFL Players Association said Thursday. His wife Terri and sons Eugene Jr., Justin and Daniel were by his side.

"Few people in the history of the National Football League have played the game as well as Gene and then had another career in football with so much positive impact on the structure and competitiveness of the entire league as Gene," former NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue said.

Well, this is the last of the preseason games. Yeah. Go Titans. They play GB tonight. Dang I hope VY has a better outing than last week.

Any Cowboys fans out there. Adam "Pacman" Jones was reinstated today.

Once again, there is talk about extending the season and doing away with preseason. There are rumors it will be done sooner than later depending on the Union. I'm in favor of it. Fans pay big money to go and they don't get to see the big name players play more than a two quarters at the most. Then, the teams have to worry about those star players being hurt and possibly being lost for the season. Guess we shall wait and see.

dinojen,

Are you happy about JT O'Sullivan taking over as quarterback instead of Alex Smith? I think Frank Gore is gonna be.

Yehhhhhhhhh... I don't know... think alot of it has to do with Marx and I really really really don't like our coach... Nolan is a idiot.. IMO.

I bet JT doesn't last the whole season and the go back to Alex... who knows.. wish we could go back to the 80's...lol...wonder if Joe would come out of retirement and give up his High Blood pressure commercials and arthritis ads...lmbo... We should of cloned him...

TOM BRADY OUT FOR THE SEASON (http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/football/patriots/view/2008_09_08_Tom_Brady_out_for_season/srvc=sports&position=0)

FOXBORO - The worst has been confirmed.

Patriots quarterback and reigning NFL most valuable player Tom Brady [stats] will miss the rest of the season, the team revealed today. The franchise QB was placed on injured reserve after tests this morning revealed the damage to his left knee will require season-ending surgery.

“First we feel badly for Tom about the injury,” said Patriots coach Bill Belichick. “You hate to see anyone go down. Nobody has worked harder and done more for this team than Tom. It’s a tough setback for him. That’s obviously the bad news.”

The injury occurred when Chiefs safety Bernard Pollard dove into Brady’s left knee after being blocked to the ground midway through the first quarter of the Patriots’ season-opening 17-10 victory over the Chiefs. Brady remained on the field, clutching the knee, until the training staff attended to him. He was helped off the field and did not return.

Belichick talked about how to replace the huge void. Brady had started 128 consecutive games and was widely regarded among the top two quarterbacks in the game.

“Each guy has a job to do,” he said. “They need to do it as well as they can. That really doesn’t change. He played one position, played it very well. There will be someone else playing that position now. We have a lot of confidence in Matt (Cassel).”

Cassel came on to replace Brady and lead the team to the win. He completed 13-of-18 passes for 152 yards and a touchdown.

I'm wishing now that Favre had taken Goodell's advice and waited on a job to open up, as my faith in a QB that hasn't started since high school is nil when the team in question had a perfect regular season last year. :sigh: Hope Brady heals well for next year.

IKE RIPS TEXANS' STADIUM - MONDAY'S GAME LIKELY OFF (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/8558884/Ike-rips-Texans'-stadium;-Monday's-game-likely-off)

Damage caused by Hurricane Ike was expected to lead to postponement of Monday night's NFL game at Reliant Stadium between the visiting Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans.

"There is no way this stadium will host a game on Monday night," Guinn said Saturday. "There are parts of the roof that are completely gone."

The retractable roof on the $352 million venue rolls open in nine sections. Guinn said five of the sections were missing and large pieces of debris had fallen into the stadium.

"It's hard to tell what came from where," Guinn said.

An official announcement on the game was expected later Saturday, NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

"It certainly appears that the stadium is not going to be able to be used on Monday night," Aiello said.

The game, originally scheduled for Sunday, was moved to Monday earlier in the week as Ike approached the area.

The field is not scheduled to host another game until Oct. 5, but Guinn said he wasn't sure when repairs could be completed. He said the stadium also sustained some water damage at street level.

Fantastic Monday night football...but... (http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa171/SPYCEE_2007/SPYCEE_2008/5-2.gif)

Even though Romo tried his best to hand us the game...my Eagles still lost (HeHe).

Donovan was great...I love seeing the old Donovan back on the field. I just need to get over being extremely anxious worrying about him getting injured. I loves me some Donovan and Westbrook (hard to believe he fumbled the ball...but I guess I keep forgetting...he is human).

I don't even want to talk about DeShawn Jackson's prematurely disposing of the football before he crossed the plane. Next time he needs to take a couple extra steps before he gets cute with the ball.

I can't believe Donovan threw for 60 yards to Jackson...only to have him literally throw it away. Thank you Brian Westbrook for your somersault touchdown.

Does anyone think that hilarious double lateral started by Jackson was his idea? Please tell me it wasn't the coaches idea.

Rowie....Congratulations to your Cowboys (and T.O.) for a job well done. We'll get you next time (lol). :seeya:

Darlin ..

1. I have NEVER seen McNabb look as good as he did last night. Much as I dislike him, I have to say that. He looked terrific - except on the last series - I thought if he'd run with the ball, rather than throw it on 2nd down, he'd have gotten the much needed first down. Ware wasn't going to let him get a second shot at that, as we saw. Nevertheless, of the two quarterbacks, I believe McNabb played a much more consistent game. He scares me. High compliment!

2. I have real grave doubts now about Romo. I tried for years to stave 'em off, but my gut feeling is that he is not a pressure quarterback. THAT is a problem. His 14 points to you guys last night are just not acceptable in a team that wants to go to the playoffs.

3. Our defense lacks, lacks, and more lacks. But on the whole, I'd say our defenses looked to be pretty even. I am not sorry that Roy Williams is out of the game. I believe that for years the defense has compensated in how it runs it schemes to accommodate him - I don't think he's the brightest bulb in the pack.

4. Lots of penalties for Cowboys, both called and uncalled. That's gotta stop. However, the PI call against Henry in the endzone was just ridiculous. Your guy had him by the shirt! Even Jaws said it wasn't right. And that set up a touchdown.

All this having been said, needless to say I was on the edge of my seat all night. Kudos to the Eagles for TRULY looking like a championship caliber team. Thankfully I don't see you again until the last game. Hopefully everything for the post-season is tied up one way or the other by then. You guys scare me.

Your Panthers hit a speed bump in the road today. That is all!! They got that loss under their belt and they will regroup. They will be back home for the next two weeks. They play the Falcons next week. I know that game will be important. JD is healthy and that is a good thing. S.Smith came back from suspension today.

I will have the magic wand rested and ready to go. LOL.

Our Division (AFC South) is always so hard. We need every game we can get. You know the other teams are gonna start to heal. Just hope we can stay healthy to compete. If K.C. were to get hurt, then we would be in big trouble. Just don't have much faith in Vince right now and Simms has not been here long enough to learn the system. Not to mention, he has been out of football for 2 years. So every game counts for us right now.

He was a rookie in my hometown. I have a signed baseball from the whole team (my uncle was part of the teams management). Anyway, Graig signed his name as Craig. I have no idea why but somewhere along the line he changed the spelling.

PS the ball isn't worth much money, my stoooopid dog chewed the snot out of it. :cuss:

Well, I personally think so. Go GB!

Have been watching some of the opening ceremonies of the Yankees & Baltimore game. All I can say is wow and wow. Can't believe they are gonna tear it down.

Baltimore has scored first. Andy Petite is on the mound. Wonder if Roger wishes he were there and making that historic final start?? Just one more thing to get him more attention. Of course, this is before the Mitchell Report. Off topic. Sorry!

Switching back and forth between games during commercial breaks.

Almost surreal to be watching the Yankees playing their last game there.

Bad dog! What year did you get your ball signed? His name derives from his mothers dislike of the names Craig and Greg. She changed his name to a combination of Greg and Craig. This is what I have read. Anyway, he and his family now live in Lenior City, TN. It is close to Knoxville and Gatlinburg. (The Great Smoky Mountains) Lenoir City used to be more of a rual area.

The hometown team was the Wisconsin Rapids Twins and was a afiliate of the Minnesota Twins anyway. I was old enough to drive to the games where my uncle would let me for childrens price. :D

(GASP) I had a close call yesterday!

My computer croaked so I almost couldn't "watch" football with you guys or "watch" my beloved Packers at all today.

I now have a new puter but so far haven't figured out how to hook up with the wireless router we have. I think I am borrowing from the neighbor again. Low signal strenth and I keep losing it but for now it is working.

GO PACKERS

Hi Hansie,

You can root for my Titans. :D JK. I think the bye came at a good time for your guys. That will give Peyton an extra week to get the rest of the rust off & work the kinks out . (He was at the Vols game Sat.) Another bad thing for your Colts, I saw where Bob Sanders will be out 4-6 weeks after having surgery.

Yes I have, was kinda hoping someone that is famliar with the stadium could give me a better idea. Also, we read that it was cooled but since it's the end of Dec. wondered also, if it's heated.

Maybe you could e-mail the business office at the stadium. I'm sure someone there would be willing to help answer your questions. Its a thought!
