Florida Teen Charged with Killing Mother in Vicious Hammer Attack
Wednesday, May 28, 2008
A Florida teenager has been formally charged with first degree murder in the beating death of his adoptive mother with a mason’s h*mmer.
A grand jury issued the indictment Tuesday, charging 19-year-old Antwan Anderson with the murder of 70-year-old Jeanette Anderson, the Palm Beach Post reported.
Police said the teen beat his mother over the head with a h*mmer in April because she told him to get off the phone, according to the paper, adding that Antwan found the h*mmer in the closet and waited until Jeanette went to bed to carry out the attack.
Antwan reportedly told his brother he was “tired” of the elderly woman, the Post reported.
When a detective asked if he regretted what he had done, Antwan replied with a smile, "No, why would I be sorry about this?" according to the Post.

My blood is boiling. :flamemad: This sick SOB deserves the DP, no questions asked. No remorse? Smiling when asked if he was sorry? If he was so tired of the lady he should have moved out on his own. The moron is 19. He should be thankful she took care of his sorry behind. That poor, poor woman, may she rest in peace.

I am always sorry when the news reports that someone was adopted. It makes it seem like a bad thing or the erason for the attack.
I would like to get ahold of this brat with one of my softball bats, while he is sleeping.

I'm with you. He's a monster. And I don't think there is any sort of rehabilitation for someone like this. IMO

I cannot fathom the pain that this teenager has probably put this elderly woman through throughout the time she tried to parent him.:( I have a feeling he had been very cruel to her for a long time. He has no heart whatsoever.
What a scary world it has become.

A horrible story!
Please do not unload on me as being insensitive, or ignorant; I am neuther. But I have always been wary of adoption.
Some folks are just born bad. There were four adopted kids in my wife's family; three were absolutely fabulous, the fourth was bad from infancy.
I KNOW!---nurture plays a huge part in socialization, but so does nature. It is true in all other species; why not man? [/*]
I also believe that nature plays a part. But in todays world with so much substance abuse many of these children are brain damaged at birth. I don't mean like retardation, but I feel there is something missing in them. This may not be true of all children from substance abuse mothers but many have problems. This is not an excuse for this dirtbag of a kid. It sure is a scarey time when parents have to fear their kids may kill them.
Parents should be able to discipline their children without fear from DCF or fear their kids will kill them. We need to allow parents to parent their kids.
I hope this boy will never be free again and the DP would be appropriate for him.

He's been arrested 8 times in the past 2 years or something like that. Why wasn't he already sitting in prison so this couldn't happen?

I deal with the criminally insane. There are those who are insane, then there are those who are very very good at playing insane and or have severe personality disorders.
I have treated a number of murderers. more than one who has killed a family member (often their mother). I know one who is so out of it he really doesn't get it that anything was wrong with what he did. He would do it again, in other words. That actually has kept him out of jail and incarcerated in a hospital for 30 years. Sometimes the most henious criminals are given an acquit and commit with the understanding that this person will never get out. And they don't. This is in a non-death penalty state btw.
I've noticed when children kill their parents it's often in a horrible way- hammer, stabbing, burning, raping.
Each individual case is different. This one is a repeat offender, a defiant and angry youth with an antisocial personality disorder who needs a life sentence or the DP. We get these guys admitted for evalutation (and they love acting crazy, can't fool us though)- they are the most rude, threatening, angry, offenders and often wind up restrained after assaulting other (truely ill) patients or staff. Hate these guys, hate them.

It's also frightening when I see children in elementary school who are so defiant they will likely become what he is. Many times the "guardians" are so screwed up themselves that they allow their children to watch with or without them violent rap videos, horror movies, use bb guns, etc. And if they can't do this at home, they will find a "friend's" house where there is no supervision. When they are in school they are constantly distracting by picking fights, throwing sharp objects like pencils, scissors at one another and talking in slang that the teachers don't comprehend. I can see the teachers just giving up. Some teachers have told me that they will be called racist if they try to discipline them.
This woman, it appears was trying to save this kid, but in no way could handle him. It's so sad.

I have a friend who used to be a foster care caseworker, and she never got over how much those kids always knew about pornography, horror movies, and too often sex toys. How would a preschooler even know about sex toys unless.........:(
And I know exactly where you were coming from with that "racist" statement. Some people are their own worst enemies.

We were talking about movies the children had seen and one, very young, had recently viewed an extreme horror movie. This was a little strange I thought: the teacher asked if the student if he had an adult with him when viewing it. The student said yes, his mom. The teacher then said, just wanted to make sure there was an adult with you. I couldn't believe it. Was it in case the child got scared? I don't get it at all.

I am thinking nature plays a lot more than we ever realized. Also physical brain injures and things like that. I think we are born with a lot of our nature.

I think choice plays the most part of our lives. Everyday, every minute of the day we make choices. All people can choose to hurt others or not. Yes I've seen and known alot of mean and nasty people. But believe me when they want something, they can play the con game and be so nice to get what they want.
I even have a retarded cousin who is like a child even though she is in her 40's and she knows right from wrong. Even though her brain does not work at full function.

I agree....no love or appreciation,
some thing definitely missing in this guy!
This kind lady was 50 when she took these boys, with the baby just three days old, she later adopted the boys and raised them as her own.
The baby boy was 3 days old...WHAT does this say about the mother?
This says to me: she was: too young, prostitution or into drinking/drugs!
My guess is the latter while she was pregnant with the child....
I would like to see the criminal/medical history of the parents.

Jmo...Yes, scary and sad, because people are NOT held responsible for their actions, until it's too late for the innocent.
This nice lady had looked after Antwan and, at one point, all of his six brothers and sisters after their biological mother couldn't care for the 7.
Notice the bio-mother couldn't care for the kids, but she kept having more!
Last year, he left to go live in Palm Beach County, and was living with his biological mother.
Antwan couldn't get along with his mothers boyfriend.. so,
About three weeks ago he came back....
IMO...this ungrateful guy should NOT have been permitted back in the house...and returned to the woman that gave birth to this monster.....moo
