I'll 6th that , however since a female answered the phone yesterday when reporter Mike McHugh (OTC) called, it might be Amber's. Seems, Xtina, Tyler & Amber were complicit. The Verizon Subpoena was dated 2-15-08. LE got a hold of that cell phone # early on. JMO

True, it could be Amber's...or Amber could have answered it if Tyler couldn't.
Really wonder how much of part they all 3 played in this.

Anyway, LK has a teaser that the reporter from WNCT is working on something regarding the IP addresses that were being watched by LLE.

Okay, there were 7 subpoenas/search warrants unsealed yesterday, right? Could somebody list what each was for? I have seen references to a phone number in Denver, a yahoo account about animal_batista_diego, and a phone call at Subway. What are the other 4 about? TIA!

GPeas,
They were for:
1) Roadrunner IP trace on 2/10 from 8 to 9pm
2) Embarq (formerly Sprint here) for calls to Subway on 3/31 between 7 and 7:45pm
3) Roadrunner IP trace for 1/21 (different IP number than #1)
4) Yahoo IP logs for CAL's email account from 1/15 to 2/22
5) Yahoo IP logs for CSL's email account from 2/11 to 2/22
6) MFCU bank records for all account held by CAL from 1/14 to 2/15
7) Verizon records for the Denver cell phone number
That's basically a summary GPeas.
caejde
04-22-2008, 02:40 PM
They are:
1. phone records from the Subway
2. phone records from the Verizon cell phone # out of Denver

Yes, a very circuitous way of communicating, through Amber's myspace and her computer, and now the husband's work and someone's cell phone. I guess they all underestimated LE! :eek:

Rick Sutherland had said himself the LE had asked that if anyone had contact with Cesar to notify them, Christina, her sister and brother in law choose not to.
It may not be against the law in NC, but I certainly don't consider them to be cooperating with the LE, do you?

Any name or event that may have similarities to any real person or event is totally coincidental

Starting a bashing thread just for IS will not keep the sparing only in that arena, it will continue onto the other threads.

I thought the mock Grand Jury was interesting that was done out of Texas on Laurean.
They indicted him on all of the counts although the murder indictment wasn't unanimous and two thought there was no probable cause to indict. They did indict on the rest of the charges except the robbery.
BUT they also did a mock extradition and ruled due to him possibly coming before a military tribunal they declined extradition.:eek: Now that was interesting. Wonder what LE is thinking about this article although Lindell put more information on his blog than in the JDN article he wrote. He cut it short and did not list the results I don't think....just posted it on the blog.

half a second! That movie and Down Periscope are my DH's favs of all time.
He yells "you can't handle the truth" in unison with Jack .
A Va Beach attorney who, it is said, the Kevin Bacon character in the movie was based on, has spoken out in the media in the past (in a news clip) regarding a case where a Marine was murdered and set on fire.
Because I knew one of the players in that case up close and personal, I kind of have a crush on that Attorney:D
I watch the movie everytime it repeats LOL
i should clarify...it may have been a sailor who was murdered. i'll recheck my facts later...i just know why it happened and the who that caused it to happen:o

OK. If it wasn't Laurean, who would go into his backyard and burn Maria without his knowledge?
He reportedly had a BBQ party over her remains shortly thereafter. I suppose he was trying to mask it.
Who on earth had access to that degree to his backyard, to kill and transport a body, make a shallow grave and then set it on fire IN HIS OWN BACKYARD? And then get a BBQ party going right on top? :rolleyes:

Good morning martha and anyone else reading or posting. Glad to hear you are getting better.
Now, if we can just find out who is enroute to Mexico and what's in the sealed search warrants. At least that will give us something to talk about.
;)
I don't think anyone has ever defended the disposal of Maria and her baby, not anyone. There is no defense from my POV.
That said, I still want to hear the whole story before I convict any one of anything court of public opinion or not. Sometimes things are not as they seem and only the unveiling of each and every detail will reveal what was really going on.

Good Morning Candy!
Yes, imo it does make a difference. This case is already heartbreaking enough without rumors and misinformation being dumped in as truth by the media just to make the case more gory to boost their ratings and Nancy Grace never retracts any of the misinformation she so recklessly puts out. As we guess and second guess this case and what has gone on, I will continue to wait for a trial to show the evidence the State has to PROVE the defendant is guilty of MURDER.
It's too bad their "cooperating witness" will come off as looking bad, so I hope they have much more to prove who actually murdered Maria and Gabriel. I am praying for true justice in this case.

Apparently it's easy to do on the web. I hear that while I am having problems with my computer, the word coming from the fowl is that I was banned or denied access. That could not be further from the truth. I simply didn't want to bother Coldwater and have tried to figure it out on my own. I wasn't denied access but the driven agenda of a misguided poster continues to spread hate on the web IMO.
I'm curious about who will be or is enroute to Mexico?????
Could it be the court appointed attorney? I would think his parents would be going down if possible without an entourage of reporters.

CK, let 'em think what they wanna think, LOL.
LK isn't coming off the name for some reason. I don't know if he can't say yet or not say at all. But why add that tidbit? Teaser perhaps?
I think the person either going to or has already left is Wally Paramore. I don't know what, if anything he can do since I was have the understanding the extradition has to be worked out between the Mexican authorities and our State Department and/or the Justice Department.
Whatever the case may be, I so hope the extradition process is fast rather than slow.

She does have a tendency to go beyond rude with her guests. NG asks a question and if the answer isn't what she wants to hear, bam, she cuts them off.
As to the IP addresses, it appears that CSL (or someone else) used two different computers at two different places. That's obvious but only RR and OCSO knows the locations for those two different places.
With that being said, I wonder what the reporter from WNCT has come up with? I have been checking their website and have seen nothing so far.

It is a shame that a case has divided posters so much. I have enjoyed all the posters. They all brought ideas to the forum.

Same here Marcia. Lindell is thinking there will be several hundred pages released this week tho.
I don't think he'll be confirming who was/is going to Mexico.
I wonder if Cesar's parents have made contact with him there yet or are making plans to see him?

Several hundred pages of what? I must've missed something.
I've wondered about CAL's parents as well. In their shoes, I would just want to see my son and talk to him ASAP, regardless of what he has been accused of doing.

If anyone wants to print any of the documents that are about to be released, you would be wise to have an extra ink cartridge or two handy.
Mike McHugh posted earlier that TJ Cavanagh, one of the investigators in this case, was seen at the Superior Court Records Office today handing the clerk "a bulging manila envelope filled with documents pertaining to the investigation."

Rep. Mike Turner Will Call on DOD to Investigate Handling of Rape and Murder Case of Maria Lauterbach
Victim's Mother and Ohio Congressman to Call for Answers at Press Conference
But in a hurry to get the information out someone forgot to check the facts....
On May 11, 2007, Marine Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach reported to her chain of command at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina that she had been raped by fellow Marine Corporal Cesar Laurean. Seven months later, on or about December 14, 2007, the burned remains of LCpl Maria Lauterbach and her unborn child, Gabriel Joseph, were found buried in a shallow grave in the backyard of the home of fellow Cpl Cesar Laurean.
I thought Maria was killed on 12/14 and was found on 1/11...

It's going to take some time I'd imagine for him to go through all the muck in the Q&A section.
It would have been easier for him if the posters would have posted one question at a time instead of an entire paragraph of them.

True Ivy, I spoke to LK earlier today and he expressed concern about the same thing. It's pretty much done when these people are off the clock (these people being Rick Sutherland, Lindell Kay, and Mike McHugh) and the easier it is, the more everyone benefits.
Hopefully if the opportunity comes again for questions, we can all take that into consideration and follow his lead and request. I know posters here are not the only ones asking questions, but we all have to be more considerate.

Here we go again with media misinformation.:(
This is not surprising ...Turner cant just let it go.
Now when my co-worker friend was murdered the GBI only talked to her family in general terms about the case. They did not release to them intimate details of the investigation which after 4 months resulted in her husband being arrested for the murder.
Sooooooo I wonder if the Lauterbachs or Turner knows the entire story and that Maria and Cesar may have had an intimate consensual affair. Somehow I don't think they would discuss that part of the investigation with them.
My friend's husband had cheated on her but her family was not aware of that until the case came to trial.

I don't really know how they can go forward. I mean even if they do find out Gabriel is his it still does not prove the rape happened and doing the testing would be so mundane just to catch him lying about having sex with Maria and not even worth their time knowing that most likely he is going to get LWOP if found guilty.
So I just don't know to be honest.

Yes, the story was supposed to be held by the media until today, but someone at WNCT goofed and posted the story last evening. When they realized the error, it was pulled back down, but since the agreement to hold the story was only until today, it'll most likely go back up now. Lindell Kay got permission from Rep. Turner's office to go ahead with the story yesterday, since it was already out there by WNCT's mistake.

But when you find a burned body of a person some other person had and affair with or raped (not quitesure which, there) , and you find that person and her foetus burned and burried in someone's backyard, you have to ask why? Don't you???
The history is there. If there's any suggestion that someone else broke into the Laurean backyard, made a pit and burned Maria there, ..... they're nuts. IMO

She theorized that Maria and Cesar was at the house when Christina came home after 7pm with Amber and Tyler Emrick and they are drunk. She got mad upon knowing Maria was there and there was a big argument. Tyler punched Cesar and he lost it and fell asleep. Christina then killed Maria and when Cesar came back from his senses, Christina told Cesar that Maria committed suicide and slashed her throat and told Cesar that he needed to help bury the body as they would think he killed her as Maria brought rape charges to him. What do you think of this theory?
Hmmmm ill wait till Cesar speak up

Does anyone think Sutherland has changed his mind and will not answer anymore questions. I have already thought by posting answers on a blog it may come back to haunt him in the trial.

Hmmmm ill wait till Cesar speak up
:D [/*]
Well as SB says "its possible"....:)
I had already thought if he had gone somewhere after Maria left the first time with one of his friends to do something and came back in and this had already happened and CSL told him Maria came over there acting really strange and cut her throat right in front of her. He could have thought the blood pooling around her head was from the gaping neck wound.
So your friend's theory doesn't sound all that hard for me to believe.
Oh I have no doubt whether he did this or didn't he knew who LE was going to point their fingers at. He isn't that dumb.

I mean it is possible and maybe CL will use that in his defense but I really think he is the guilty party. You would think the man would stay behind and fight this instead of running to Mexico if he was innocent.
Now he could be the one who punched Maria in the face, and he could of helped CL but I still think that more then likely it was Cl who killed Maria.
I would have to have more facts before saying Tyler was invovled. I wonder if he has an alibi?

Because this isnt a pre-meditated murder. And why would they choose any backyard to bury her when they could just hide her body in the woods? IMO she was buried in CL's backyard because there is no plan to kill her or else she will be killed somewhere else and her body will be dumped somewhere else. They have a month to dispose it but wasnt able to dispose it. Why?
w/ CL as a guilty party, yes but i dont know to what extent. but i would think that if 3 people will point out you killed the woman then you dont have a choice but to run and he has the highest motive to kill her as well. IMO.
But yes i agree, we need informations. This is just a theory that my friend has - we will wait and see and she's willing to eat crow with us if she's wrong lol

I don't think her theory is bad. It is possible I am just not ready to say that is what happened. I think I just got in my head that CL is the responsible party for this brutal murder. Now I can see Tyler helping with the moving of the cars, well at least I feel that he had to help with moving the cars so someone helped him in that area.

Me too. I have not closed myself off to any possibilities. I believe if only one side of the story is told the truth will never be revealed.
Cesar Laurean has his own truth and I hope he comes back and tells his side. I can understand why he would flee......there was just too much history involving him and this victim......only he knows what all he is guilty of and he would know for certain they were going to think he did the entire thing.
I am not convinced he did it alone and I want full justice for Maria and Gabriel.........not partial justice.

Hello Martha!
Yes, until we know the facts imo nothing can be discounted.
We sure need some news though. I hope they will be releasing the various search warrants soon. If affidavits are attached those are the most interesting and then we can get a glimpse into what LE was thinking at the time.

I used to get to this board by going to CNN's Crime page and then clicking on "People are Talking", but that's gone now, unless I'm missing something ??
I left for a week of vacation on the Friday after Cesar was captured in Mexico. Hubby read it Thursday night and told me they caught a Marine in Mexico, wondering if it was the case I'd been watching. I missed all your conversations! It was making me nuts. But, I have to admit I had such a nice week that I was able to push it to the back of my mind. I've been popping in and reading since I got back. The case hasn't gotten any clearer, but I've stopped my Christina theory based on Det Sutherland's comments that LE thinks she played no role in the homicide.
Anyway, glad to be keeping up with things again.

Welcome back scillak.
Not much news since then and it has been pretty quiet around here this week.
My theory on Christina still stands. Just because she may not be involved in the homicide itself doesn't mean she wasn't involved in some manner. I have noticed like the cooperating witness label they have attached to her they too are very specific when they say no involvement in THE homicide. They have not said that she had no involment in the cover up or clean up.

An Ohio congressman who says he is not satisfied with the Marine Corps' answers about the handling of a Marine's allegations that she was raped by the man now accused of killing her, is asking the Department of Defense to step in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think this is far too early to be looking for an assist from Congress given that we have yet to see a trial. I understand the need to look at the overall handling of this case. However, an investigation right now can only compromise what is a critical piece of a right to a fair trial.
How could anyone not be biased after a Congressional Hearing on this subject matter?
I'm not opposed to the idea itself, just the timing, not to mention Turner courting some nineteen other members beforehand with Mary Lauterbach....
IMO there will be no rape case on the state trial and IMO they would like the Department of Defense to look at any Rape case charges brought in by women ( not only by Maria ) to the Military and see if they properly process it.
I have to agree with CK. It's too premature to be dallying around congress etc. What bothers me is that the murder is not really the focal point, the alleged rape is their focal point. It should also be noted that DOD has an extremely large hand in setting the rules and regulations for the military services.
I was trying to find a reasonable response to Babes, as I truly respect her opinion. But this is what bothers me too.
WHY ON EARTH ARE WE FOCUSING ON A RAPE ALLEGATION right now, when the accused is within our reach and we will be seeing a road to justice?
Who wants to see it destroyed by blunders of this magnitude? These people have to think about what they are doing. I don't see anything wrong with trying to make changes, but there is a time and a place for a review of the rape allegations IMO. :patriot:
Welcome back scillak! The board has been very quiet lately.
I never had a Christina theory to begin with so RS's (and others') comments about her didn't come as a great surprise; they only cemented my own feelings about her non-involvement. And I believe it is non-involvement in anything at all, other than communicating with him after he had fled. I have said before, and I reiterate that I feel they truly "like" her (meaning RS and all the others who have spoken out). Although I'm not sure that is the exact right word. A lot of compassion for her at any rate....and belief in her. I think they talked to her in-depth and at length and have other substantiation as well about some of her story.
Well......it's an interesting roller coaster ride and will continue to be, I'm sure.
I think that is why the issue is being pressed. Not saying if it is the time for this or not. I am curious though why how blunders will destroy the road to justice?
I am not sure if the rape allegations will be brought in to the trial of the murder since he has never been charged.
Hi Candy :seeya:
The only thing i can think of here is Mary Lauterbach wants full justice for Maria. She would like someone to pay for the Rape Charges while the state works on the murder case against Cesar Laurean because she knew that the state will not bring up the Rape charges against Cesar. ( will possibly use it as part of a motive ) . Yeah they might wait until the murder trial ends but that murder trial can take years specially if Laurean and his Mexican lawyer will fight the extraditions ( and by that time - Turner's time and power might be gone ) .
I have seen people convicted just because they are not liked. I would hate that more then partial justice. Tor ruin some one's life because someone feels like they were involved yet has no proof would be devastating.
I think that is why I am cautious on who to blame for Maria's death. I would hate to think that if I was related to Christina or friends with Christina then I would be guilty by association.
Anyway just thought I would throw my opinion in on partial justice. To think that there would not have to be evidence to bring someone full justice is freightening.
It is mind wrenching, I pray for justice for Maria and her baby and family. Just does not seem to be happening in a timely manner, like right now!.
