I brought that up earlier and was asked if that mattered. I don't think it matters, simple question I would answer it. Even Winston Blackmore says the Fathers should be stepping forward for their children.

After they won't answer where their husbands are, I'd love to ask a few followup questions - how old is your oldest child - name so we can check that? How old are you? How many husbands have you had - have you ever been "reassigned" How many women do you know that have been reassigned (apparently recently 21 men were kicked out, wives "reassigned" to other men - 21 men times how many wives each.

At the beginning of the interview Marilyn said that she had one child. One little girl aged 7.
While she was giving the tour of her home, she showed us bedrooms that were for 4 or more children. She kept talking about the children are gone.
She showed us her mothers room which also had 3 other beds for her mothers daughters.
She also showed us a living room that held chairs for at least 20 or more ppl.
Whose children were living with her?

Evidently no one named Sarah, or maybe, maybe not. I don't know anymore.

Obviously they lie - a lot. The men said no one named Sarah living at the ranch - when it's a very common name in the sect - a bunch of Sarah's, including several of the correct age, were removed from there. I don't believe a word coming out of their mouths unless it's validated by others - because they lie to hide and defend their pedophilic, child abusing way of life.

Here you go - this is a really interesting bunch of articles from a little while back. It is a practice Jeffs has exercised with increasing frequency; in January 2004 alone, Jeffs' condemned 21 FLDS men in Short Creek to this fate, a move that attracted widespread media attention. http://www.austinchronicle.com/gyrobase/Issue/story?oid=oid%3A281915

KING: Where is your husband?
ESTHER: I would like for the children to be returned. I would like to have complete custody of my children. I am an active mother. We are active mothers with our children. They are happy with us. They are happy to be here. And they cried in the shelter. They cried and cried, when are we going to go home? When are we going to get back to normal?
We want them to go home.
KING: Well, they also have -- they have a father. Where is he?
ESTHER: The interest here is to get the children.
KING: You have no interest in your husband?

Thanks, that makes sense. But when they tally everything up from the compound, I hope it is clear who fathered each child, etc. Maybe they also made some men disapear/leave so they had a more viable claim on welfare? Anyway, I hope they do the DNA tests on all of them although I wonder if this is feasible. The first concern is safety for the children, but there should be fraud charges filed also, evading taxes, etc. What would they charge them with for making a man leave and reassigning his wife?

I have heard that some children have been brought to the ranch from other sects, left there by their parents. Sad, isn't it? And then they keep saying the children "need their mothers". Well, they don't mind separating them themselves, do they?
Marilyn showed a room in which a young mother lives with her 10 month old "and two little girls". Probably a couple of kids that were relocated without their mothers.

There were four. She spoke about her mothers "3 daughters". But I'm confused. That was last night's tour. During the tour tonight she identified another room as her mother's and it had two beds - one for her mother's 5-year-old Down Syndrome son. Strangley, Marilyn didn't refer to this child as her brother. I think Marilyn and her mother share a husband.

If the husband was excommunicated and couldn't take his wife, maybe false imprisonment for not allowing the wife to go. Other than that, I don't know.

If this is true, it's just beyond horrible. I feel sick reading this.
from the transcript:
"(Carolyn) JESSOP: Well, you know, it was from multiple levels. Merrill did a form of water torture on babies, and it was a method he called breaking them, where he would take the baby and spank them until they were screaming out of control, and then he would hold the baby face up under a tap of running water for a minute, maybe as long as a minute, and then he`d take a baby out, spank them again and then the process would just repeat. He`d do this until the baby was just so exhausted, it couldn`t fight anymore. He called it breaking them. And what the method was behind it was to instill an extreme level of fear for their father, but do it at an age that they wouldn`t remember the process that was used to instill that fear."

I was wondering about that too; the only older woman I've seen was the one baking the bread. And at what age do they stop having babies? Isn't Down Syndrome much more prevalent in mothers over 40? Hard to tell the ages of any of them, but Marilyn's mother looked way past 40.

Downs Syndrome can be caused by "old eggs" but it can also be genetic. I know a few 25 year olds who have Down Syndrome babies and went in for genetic testing.
I'm guessing the name pinned on the clothing was because it had been laundered and was a way to get the clothes back to the right kid.
I saw two elderly women baking bread. But as someone pointed out, it must be tough for them without a single comfortable chair to sit in - except the "throne" in the living room which I'm pretty sure is "daddy's chair".
Viewing the program again, I want to clarify my earlier post. Mariliyn did not identify the second room as also being her mother's (Sally's). She just identified it as being Sally's son's. Ooops on me.
And, yes, where are the cemeteries?

My main concern out of this whole mess is if children are being sexually enslaved.
If there are 15 and 16 year old girls that have children of their own, then we have a case here.
If not, I'm not so sure. What is the age of consent in Texas?
Details
04-18-2008, 05:54 PM
There's a 16 year old with four children - that's under any age of consent. And plenty of others who are pregnant or have their own children.
IIRC, if married (legally - not a 'spirit wife'), a 16 year old can 'consent' (as shown in the Jeffs trial, they're forced by threatening damnation if they don't have sex) to sex with her husband, with parental consent to the marriage. But most are not legal marriages - only the first wife is.

16 with four children??????????
So she was 12 or 13 when they first raped her, unless any of those children are twins etc.
Regardless, she was well under the age of consent when raped.

OMG! Sixteen with four kids? Even if she had two sets of twins, that's way, WAY too young to start having babies or to have the capacity to consent in any way, shape or form.
I hope the court orders DNA swabs of every member of that cult and gets to the bottom of this all. Unfortunately, I'm guessing DNA testing might be quite involved considering the limited gene pool involved. I hope the funds and technology are available to get that done.
Those poor little angels. You know, so many children have grown up in situations like this -- cults, sects and religions of all sorts -- with no idea that any of the various practices are wrong (much less illegal) and that there is SO much more to the world than the limited perspective they've been allowed...and the cycle continues with each generation.
It really breaks my heart to think any of those children might ever be returned to that sorry life. :(

Go Texas!
If there is a 16 year old with four children, please don't return those other children to be raped.
(Assuming, of course, that the four children were produced by adult men.) Just want to make that clarification.

Hello to everyone, by the way. I registered during another trial but haven't posted until today. I love the discussions and appreciate all the information and that there are so many truly caring people here. Have a nice day! [/*]

So she was 12 or 13 when they first raped her, unless any of those children are twins etc.
Regardless, she was well under the age of consent when raped. [/*]She's been reported on several times. They've never said there were any twins (nor that there weren't).
More recent testimony - the girls don't think there is supposed to be any age limit to be 'married'.

If this is true, it's just beyond horrible. I feel sick reading this.
from the transcript:
"(Carolyn) JESSOP: Well, you know, it was from multiple levels.
Merrill did a form of water torture on babies, and it was a method he called breaking them,
where he would take the baby and spank them until they were screaming out of control,
and then he would hold the baby face up under a tap of running water for a minute,
maybe as long as a minute, and then he`d take a baby out, spank them again and then the process would just REPEAT.
He`d do this until the baby was just so exhausted, it couldn`t fight anymore.
He called it breaking them. And what the method was behind it was to instill an extreme level of fear for their father,
but do it at an age that they wouldn`t remember the process that was used to instill that fear." [/*]

I cringed when I read about the water torture. And to babies? Truly demented. I wish they could prove it. Anyone who would do that should be in prison for life. Then we have the added allegations that boys were sodomized at the age of 5 or 6. What kind of men do all these things? This is not just about old geezers forcing adolescents into marriage and having sex with them.

OMG! Sixteen with four kids? Even if she had two sets of twins, that's way, WAY too young to start having babies or to have the capacity to consent in any way, shape or form.[/*]
I know, as someone else pointed out, how old was she with her first child? If none were twins and she got pregnant every 10 months, four times in a row, that would still take almost 3 1/2 years. Seems no way she was older than 13 with the first child, probably younger.

Gathering up the men
IMO they should also round up all the men/husbands and run their ID's to see just how many are known predators living in the compound surrounded by these innocent babies and probably abusing them. IMO there are many...... and if some are registered pedaphiles and predaters they should be slapped into prison for the maximum time for violating probation. AAAaaaaagggghhhh....Why else would they be there? Hidden away from civilization as we know it and protected by unknown predaters in the name of religion..........:flamemad: I pray that they never send those kids back there and eventually rescue the younger kids that have been allowed to go back........Then stop the welfare and force those women to go to work and earn their living just the same as the rest of us had to do.........Maybe then and only then can we stop this massive abuse of children. Our government has to quit turning their heads away and allowing this to happen and earn their saleries and do what they are paid to do..... CLEAN THIS COUNTRY UP!! ASAP This is of course MOHO.......They make me want to barf ........MOO

The women seem to sincere, but brainwashed.
What if you've been raised Jewish, and kept apart from society, and then one day you hear that it is all wrong? Who would you believe?
I see a lot of fear in them.

I'd really, really like for one of them to try that around me sometime.
You would have to scrape him off the floor with a spatula.

WHY IS:
Child abuse, pedophiles, sodomy, sadist, torture, fraud and lying, lying, lying about everything asked, labeled a religion...and our states call this a religion??
Good question, What kind of men do ALL these things?
IF these practices are religious, about half the people we have in prison need to be let out, as they were in-prisoned for a religious act......jmo

When this one "person" said she was going to show us her living room, it was a damm auditorium willed with chairs. I about puked.
Thank God those kids are out of there. The trauma they are enduring, and I'm sure they are, is because their mothers are stoopid, ignorant, followers without the capability to think. Granted, they have been raised that way, but it's time someone put a stop to it.

Yes, I recall reading many articles that said it may be caused by a lack of folic acid. That's found in fresh vegetables. They give supplements for that now. [/*]
Down's syndrome is a chromosomal disorder and has nothing to do with vitamins.
Neural tube defects like anencephaly and spina bifida have been linked to folic acid deficiency. Maybe that's what you thought of.
