SAN ANGELO, Texas - Marleigh Meisner, spokeswoman for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, this afternoon defended the state's decision Monday to separate mothers from older children from the YFZ Ranch who are in state custody.
"This was in the best interest of these children," Meisner said at a press conference this afternoon.

Interesting that the state feels the need to defend it's actions.

Because their actions were and are right. No matter what the second guessing. Or should they let the cult's lies and misleading set the story to the public?

Well much like the Short Creek (now Colorado City) raid back in 53 the Gov't is catching some slack for separating kids from their parents. They probably want to avoid a PR nightmare on that end, not every person realizes how scary this sect of the FDLS is or the history involved.

There's such a purposeful veil of secrecy around the religion. They feel its none of the gov'ts business what they do and don't do behind closed doors. It doesnt matter that polygamy is against the law and they willingly commit welfare and tax fraud. They also use intimidation tactics like be present when someone else is being interviewed by someone on the outside, to keep them in line. They also train children and adults to not answer questions to outsiders and be evasive. After all we're not the chosen ones in their eyes, we're all sinners.

I feel bad that the kids/mothers were separated, but hope this will enable the kids to be more free with their knowledge of what's going on at that ranch. Hypothesis is, perhaps CPS wasnt feeling the mothers being around was helping their investigation.

It's interesting that people are attacking them for inforcing CPS laws, unlike Utah and Arizona.
