I just got back Sunday night from up there in the area, I wanted to be close to the area as I knew the 3rd year anniversary was approaching. The others wanted to be there for trout season. Funny I was the only one to catch a rainbow trout after casting and caught it within 15 seconds of casting my line. I took that as a rainbow to my upset heart, a bridge for trying to heal everything I feel about this case. The whole time I was there I looked at many woods ect, and felt that RG is somewhere.

I checked the cabin area too and found a HUGE letter lower case i curved into one of our trees??? What the heck does that stand for? It's weird!!! If I start finding more letters Im going to lose it!

Pgal forgive me but I don't feel RG will be at peace till he is found. Sorry to sound so morbid but that's what it feels like for me anyhow. I also feel he is on private property and that's the most likely reason he has not been found, thats also a feeling.

This case went cold after two or three weeks. But, after three years, it still haunts more than just family and friends. For whatever it's worth, coming from a complete stranger (and part-time inane snark), this is for RG's loved ones...especially Lara (who reminds me so much of my own daughter)...

All of today's anniversary reports simply say....it will take a stroke of luck to solve this case. In other words - they're waiting for someone to dump the proof into their laps.

It really bugs me.....that not *one* of these anniversary reports mentions the fact that NO FINGERPRINTS were found in Gricar's vehicle.

Not one.

Lots of things missing in the anniversary reports..but that is par for the course.

As for my being in Bellefonte....my littleone comes first in my life. Surprisingly, she needed her mama today. Doesn't surprise me a bit there weren't any flowers..makes me sad-but doesn't surprise me at all....

There were fingerprints found, but they were unreadable.

I found Lara's comments very touching and very sad, in the CDT article

http://www.centredaily.com/news/local/bellefonte/story/524306.html

“Obviously, it would have to take a miracle,” she said. “But he would never have intentionally left Patty and me. He just wouldn’t. But at the same time, with the situation we’ve been in it’s just very hard to think … It’s just hard,” she said.

Lara Gricar thought for a time she’d choose another male figure in her family to walk her down the aisle at her wedding but just couldn’t do it.

“I don’t think anyone could even fill his shoes,” she said. “I’m definitely struggling with that. I don’t know how I’m going to fill that void.”

Lara will not have her Dad walking her down the aisle...

And he won't be there to see her first baby....

:(

I am. IIRC, there were smudges in the car, the wheel and the door handle.

I did not get that same, overall impression...although it was said. We heard from LE (SW, DZ, MM...but not MR), and we heard from 'the family' (LG, TG, BG and PF). I think the combined reporting (though not nearly enough to suit me/'us') was a bit more than I expected...particularly from LG (and I thank her for that).

We all deal with personal issues daily. For whatever reasons, we all have chosen to add this issue to our burden. In a way, this forum often reminds me of the movie, "You've Got Mail" (1998, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan). Maybe I should not say this (but I will anyway)...I tear-up at the end, every single time I watch it.

The real-life drama, that is the Ray Gricar mystery, has had a like affect. May God bless Lara and all of Ray Gricar's loved ones...and empower everyone who in a position to make a difference, to make the difference.

This has been a very sad day for me today. I really appreciate reading Lara's words even though they broke my heart. I made my own Dad dinner tonight and gave him extra hugs and kisses..and thanked God that he is still here with me....(Mr. Gricar vanishing has brought my Dad and i MUCH closer together)...

I pray more than anything that Lara gets the answers she deserves. My heart breaks for her knowing she will not have her Dad there to walk her down the aisle....

And i admire TG so very much..he has been a strong voice for his family...and has been through so very much himself. I hope he finds the happiness he deserves!

And S1... i sorta knew you had a sensitive side ...:)

Hey guys why don't we talk about the William Jemenez case. Are you guys familiar with it? Apparently Ray dropped charges against a sherriffs deputy Jan 18, 2005. It would seem that both the victim and the perpetrator would be cheesed! A baby was born out of this case. I think the perp would be really mad that Ray had brought charges against him. This guy has a very shady past. Also the victim would be angry that Ray dropped the charges. Sherrijean has an article about this case. What do you guys think. Does anyone know anymore about this? Have the police delved very deeply into this case. Does anyone know what the victim looks like? Could she possibly be the mystery woman? Did'nt Barebrick say something about an unwanted baby being part of the case???

I had included William Jimenez in a list I had on the board several months ago - of cases Gricar was involved in.

But here's an old article link

Doesn't it seem odd? The incident happened in 2003, 6 months of investigation, and it comes out in Jan. 2005, after the photo of RG in the news looking beat, haggard, angry, upset or whatever you want to put to the photo, that WJ was let go. Not that he was not guilty, but not enough evidence and he thought the woman wasn't being truthful about the situation.

Was WJ ever repremanded on another job? What type of work did WJ do previously? If a Deputy Sheriff in Philadelphia, was he in the LE field previously? Is he still in the LE field? Is he still in Philadelphia? Where did he go after this case?

Maybe there was a relationship at some time, but what happened in the hotel? The whole case seemed strange to me.

One of the last cases in the news before RG's disappearance, with very strange ending and as RG said, "a very rare case".
Did the January drug bust have anything to do with the outcome of that case?

I am saying let's explore it. Both sides would have been upset with Ray if you think about it. Does anyone know what the female victim looks like? Would'nt you think that WJ would have been totally cheesed that Ray brought charges gainst him a member of law enforcement? SJ has info that a WJ used to be a prison guard back in the 90's and that he got in some trouble with inappropriate sexual activity with an inmate away from the prison at a hotel. I don't really think we can count on BPD to solve this case as long as MM won't get his arse off of it. I think it is going to be up to us. You know the cops could have the good ole boy thing going on and could be covering some things up. I have heard of worse things happening. I think it is odd that on the CDT article the other day about Ray there was a blog that you could go to at the bottom of the page. I and many others posted things on it. There was much criticsm of MM and talk of a rally for Ray. What do you know the very next morning that blog was GONE! What does that say???

The press conference with RG and TC was the end of March, IIRC, at which time the photo of RG, unsmiling, appeared. When exactly that photo was taken, I don't know for certain.

I didn't see any mention of the AG's office involved in the rape case, so how is the photo and the Jiminez case tied together?

Here is what the article regarding the rape case states:
"I believe that it would have been impossible to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she was unconscious as she claimed ..." Gricar said.

He said he has an ethical obligation to drop cases that are too weak to prosecute, but "scenarios like the Jimenez case are extremely rare."

Are you thinking he met the woman involved, and they may have been followed by the LE member who then did RG in after he met with her?

Just trying to follow exactly what your theory is regarding Jiminez. If she was 'the mystery woman' (if there ever WAS a 'mystery woman) who met with RG, why wouldn't she come forward to LE? Or are you thinking she is the one who had it all planned out.
I don't get the connection. Maybe you could expand out on it a bit further because I am not certain who you think would have done him in, in that case, or why RG wouldn't have left someone know who he was going to meet, and why in Lewisburg? It says in the news article she was from State College. Surely they could have met locally without both having to travel to Lewisburg.

I don't see the connection, but maybe you can explain why you think there is one, and what the motive would be. Surely RG came up against much bigger cases than this dropped case and even more recent to his disappearance. If you are basing it solely on a 'baby' (Barebrick), surely the Mendez case holds much greater possibilty.
JMO [/*]

I never said the photo had anything to do with anything, only the look on RG's face.

I never said RG met the woman at any time or had a relationship with her for the man to follow them, I was talking a relationship with the Deputy Sheriff at another time.

I can't make any theories until I have my questions answered.

I have no idea the info I have found is the same man.

I questioned the oddity of the case, him in a hotel and something happens to a woman, and later I came across that name, maybe not the same person, who had been employed in a prison and was fired because he had been involved with a woman prisoner who was on furlow and they were in a hotel together. Goes back to my questions in my previous post.

Also the same name from Phila. in 2004, had been involved with drugs and was in the court system. Centre County had a big drug bust which means investigations going on in 2004, and was in the news early 2005. Which goes back to my question on my previous post.

I am still researching things and can not give theories, until I have my questions answered.

Pgal has access to a lot of sites with info and thought if I put the questions out there, she might come up with some answers.

SJ - on the Wm Jimenez that was fired in '95 - I think that was in New Jersey and I'm not sure it's the same guy.

But here's another article on the Philly Deputy

Okay so it does not take a rocket scientist to prove that the guy is a liar! He said that he did not have sex with her and yet the DNA proved that he is the father of the baby then HELLO he is a liar and he must have raped her! So the guy is the one with the credibilty problems. He obviously got away with rape! He is appaently a very evil person who thinks he can do whatever in the heck he wants to do! So I think we need to know much more about him and the victim. What ever happened to the baby...was it put up for adoption? I can see that the victim and her family would probably be VERY upset with Ray! I think that Tony should get a hold of all the phone records cell, home and office if possible. You can not tell me that Ray was setup and yet noone involved called him the day before! I would like to know who called him just before the forceful door closings began! JJ you should be able to dig up info on this guy since he is from Philly. Is there corruption at the Philly PD that you know of??

I thinkthe woman may have been the front person. Then the men swooped in ( construction worker type)?? Surely must have been more than one man involved.

IIRC, the question wasn't sex, but was if it was consensual. A recent case involving a football player up there had some of the same elements.
