Well, this is certainly good news, surprising but definitely good. I just thought he was gone for good. Way to go LE!

But I'm having a hard time understanding Christina still loving him and mad because he cheated on her, but she doesn't say anything about him killing this woman and her baby???? Ugh. I still think she not only knows way more than she's telling, but she had a hand in this herself.

Sure does, doesn't it? Don't you know her parents are about ready to spit nails over this? I imagine it was their money that was spent on her attorney & my guess is they & the attorney would all like to kick her butt from here to Mexico right about now.

But if the 2 of them are determined to be not only criminal but stupid to boot, all the better, IMO. I'll bet the day that Cesar realizes that there is no way Christina is going to be able to send him a dime is the day he throws her over for some idiotic women who will see him as some tragic victim & actually HAVE money to send him (like the ones who are so convinced Scott Peterson is the same)

As for her still loving him, I don't understand how people can honestly believe that the love you feel for someone just goes away when they do something horrible. It is the fact that love remains that causes pain. He is still after all her child's father.

I am torn between what her involvement is.

Although I made a comment earlier about how she could still love him, you are right. Love doesn't just fly out the window. The way you put it makes sense.

It seems clear that's how she feels for her to be angry with him for being unfaithful but not taking the life of Maria and the baby. Like I've said before, I think she wanted Maria & the baby out of the way as much as he might have.

I personally have always thought she was the murderer.
But I also believe we need facts before we jump to conclusions.

This link was posted a few pages back ~

Authorities also seized the wife's diary.

"It's clear she's still deeply in love with him and she is vacillating between loving him and being angry at him for not being faithful to her," the official said. "It's not necessarily illegal for a wife to talk to her husband, but if she had tried to help him in any way, there would have been a problem."

Right, it seems like she would be asking him over and over why he did this to this woman and how he could kill someone. Seems she is more interested in being mad with him about cheating on her.

Personally I think she has participated in the crime or covered it up for almost a month before Maria was found. I think she has known all along where he was going and where he was at this entire time.

I can see her more and more being involved. I think she would do anything to keep her man or to protect him.

“I'm very relieved,” Capt. Sutherland said. “I'm relieved because it's something we put a lot of resources in to. And I'm also relieved because this demonstrates to people that, even though it didn't happen right away -- there may have been some critics that said that we weren't working hard enough.

“I hope this demonstrates to people just the thousands of hours that our agency, and the FBI, and the Marshals and other law enforcement all over the US and Mexico have put into this case,” Sutherland said. “Nobody forgot about it, nobody put it on the back burner. It's just something that took time.”.

 ... Yes, I cannot believe CAL would think LE (or anyone else) would believe the 'she slit her throat'. CAL was the murderer, Maria would not kill her own unborn child by slitting her own throat.

Christina is probably still blaming Maria for all of this!

Sure does. I'm believing that Christina did not just start keeping a diary since Cesar went on the lam. And if she has kept one before, LE probably has known about it since early on. For all we know, they have had one in their possession for awhile. If they know she has a history of keeping diaries, they may have deliberately given her all sort of thanks for being 'helpful' - just to give her a false sense of security - while knowing all the while that she was probably keeping another diary which would help them out later on.

And you KNOW they have or will go over the phrasing of her sentences & her vocabulary in diary & email - to see how well or poorly it matches the notes that Cesar supposedly wrote just before he left.

This time he responded in english, which isn’t normal for a neighborhood not associated with tourism and he told them his name, the officers didn’t put two and two together at the time. However, they did take him into custody because suspicions were now obviously high and when they got him to the station, they matched the wanted picture on the wall.

Laurean only had 10 pesos on him at the time of his arrest and he was eating an avocado. Mexican police say he is cooperating.

Prosecutors remain convinced that Laurean's wife, Christina Laurean, was not involved in the death of Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, Hudson said, but investigators have been gathering evidence that she had been in contact with him since he fled Onslow County.

Capt. Rick Sutherland of the Onslow County Sheriff's Department declined to comment on that part of the investigation.

Sounds like he was too hungry and disoriented to be cocky. Hmmm I did find his statement "proof" very interesting. Like he is saying he wants to see the proof proving he did this.

He told them his name. It seems he is sort of glad it is over and no longer will have to be on the run......going hungry.

He may fight extradition though if he is given an attorney to represent him and they advise him he should do so.

Probably so...and was upset he was caught.

Also from LynnG's link: Laurean had told police that he had been sleeping in fields and eating avocados and other fruit he found there.

Hmmm wonder if he really received any family help?

I'm thinking that's exactly what he'll do and his family has probably advised him to do so.

I always said they knew where he was and knew that he was safe, and he WAS................WAS being the word makes me smile that they have him.

Thanks for that link. If he had to resort to sleeping in fields & picking up an avocado here & there - he is going to have one real nasty time while he is in a Mexican jail. Those places can have certain amenities if you have enough money to bribe & buy what you want - but they are pits of hell if you have no money.

So let him fight extradition & see how long he will prefer to stay in a nasty jail cell in Mexico. I hope the food is rotten.

Kidnapping is so terribly common in Mexico. If he was disheveled & looked out of place in a tourist area, I can see how he would have stood out like a sore thumb.

This link indicates they were carrying out an anti-kidnapping operation & stopped him because he looked suspicious.

Gosh he must not have used Spanish at all since he left there as a teenager but you would think it would come back to him. Maybe he was trying to pass himself off as an American tourist.

That's what I was wondering. Wonder about the tears...if it was tears of joy that he doesn't have to run anymore or tears of anger because he got caught? Because at any time he could have stayed and told his story like Ed Brown said.

Well I think he knew fully how she felt about him and that she still loved him. I think if she could have snuck him funds she would have done it very willingly but all funds had been cutoff.

Yes, he is going to sing like a canary imo. Now if he knew she did this........asking her to send him money makes sense imo.

I think he will talk when he returns. He is tired of running......hungry...losing weight....when he comes back it is going to be a different story. If he has concrete information for them backed up with evidence he knows they have then I think they will listen intently to what he has to say..........of course with his lawyer by his side when he does.

I only wish that if he is guilty that he's not given some cushy prison life. Some prisoners have it made better than I do! 3 hot meals a day, cable tv, workout equipment, no leftovers. To me, that's not how prison should be!

If I were Christina, I'd start trying to forget how much I think I 'love' him, because it sounds like he is about to throw her right under the bus. He could be saying 'yeah, her body was in my backyard, but that doesn't prove I'm the one that killed her'.

I dunno, but I have a feeling Christina could use a good education about Diane Zamora just about now. She 'loved' her boyfriend, too - until he decided HE wasn't about to take the blame for murder & said it was all because of HER.
