I noticed that the BofA ATM that Maria used had only one machine where she stood, and the angle of the shots seemed to be taken from below looking upward.

Yes, and depends on the camera. When Eve Carson's ATM card was used at her bank at a drive through, it showed enough depth to reveal a shadow in the back seat of the SUV.
The important part of the camera is to show a straight on shot of the person using the ATM.
As I said, someone could stand by me and cover the lens at my Atm. [/*]My ATM also donna. It would be easy for someone to cover the lens.
Interesting thinking going on with the ATM. What was the date of this ATM video was it Christmas Eve? I can't remember.

With the Christmas party being on the 14th and Maria deciding not to attend is it possible that someone in her office (maybe as Secret Santa thing) gave her something for the baby? It would have probably been still in the car.

I wish the pics at the MFCU were sharper! Not trying to put you on the spot, but since you have seen the ATM in question in person, do you think someone could have been facing the wall on the side of the ATM and reached in to cover the camera lens?
BTW - thank you for all of the pics!

Hey donna!
Yes, that one is large enough for someone to stand to the side and put a rag over the lens.
The other one at PG shopping center isn't since there's a Cash Point's ATM adjoining the MFCU one.

I'm thinking it's not the BoA ATM she used. In the background of the BoA, you should have seen at least part of the pawn shop that's there.
When I went to the MFCU one, the stores that were in the background were the same as the ones we saw in the video version, plus the same truck was present in both Maria's usage of the ATM and in the one I took from the angle the camera saw.

I don't think so. I personally have never been to a unit party that does the secret santa thing. I've been to a unit xmas party where the parents bought a gift for their kid(s) and brought it in the day of the party so santa could give it the the child. She left work at about noon and spoke to her mom about 2:30. Maybe she went to the BX after work . Maybe she went to a store after her convo w/ her mom and before she went to the teller.

I'm thinking it's obvious that CAL has used that particular ATM on numerous occasions, IMO. Who knows, he may have walked up to the ATM and looked at the camera, etc. and took his best shot and apparently it worked.

If this card got discarded somewhere, who's to say this guy didn't just find the card and attempt to use it?
I'm not saying the guy at the ATM is Cesar and I'm not saying it's not. All I'm saying is why wait until the 24th to try and use the card?

I don't know. It is certainly possible! (maybe Mrs. L?)
What a great deal of money the Laureans spent in December! They had people over for a bonfire on IIRC, Christmas Eve or thereabouts, then another one at New Years. I suppose it would be a BYOB or bring your own beer, but I would think there would be snacks and/or food! I think the bonfires covered two purposes - 1.) To make the fire pit appear to have been used as just a firepit, and for CAL to have all his best buds over because he was going away and would not be seeing them again!
The items CAL bought at Lowe's were not cheap either. Plus they would spend money on gifts for their respective families, for each other, and for Abrianna.
I would like to know where MRS. Laurean thought all of this money was coming from!!!!

If he took evidence out of Maria's car and was trying to make it look like it was being sold he would have taken the baby clothes. I hear ya. I almost think it might be a good idea to start a Sticky on here with what we know as FACT vs. fiction.
I know just earlier this afternoon something was talked about again (DARN can't remember what it was) and people were speculating, then we were graciously reminded that we already knew what the fact was.....NOT what some people were guessing again today.
I know I made a mess of explaining that. It wasn't that long ago on here.....but I forget what it was.

So when somebody posted Malo Menard's criminal record the other night, did you have any objections to that?
Any objections to Salvador and Elvira's property tax records?
Any objections to Salvador's traffic ticket?
I'm just saying that in just about every case that I've either posted on or read about, people are looking up the neighbors, friends, relatives and posting information.
Nobody's accusing this guy of anything. Lots of speculation though, same as with Christina.
Not trying to start an argument, but if you find the posts objectionable, then you should report them to CW and let her handle it.

I agree with you, cryme!
As for fact from fiction, this is a message/discussion board. Quite a few of us speculate on aspects of this case. If everything we stated had to be fact, we would all be looking back at articles/video's. That is why I use the 'IIRC'.

I agree with all of the above.
We've also brought up everyone's MySpace page we knew of on both sides of this case including blogs by family members.

I think this situation with Jose was a little different.
As far as CW goes, she reads here, if she finds it objectionable she will take action. I DON'T "report"......anyone or anything.....just not in my nature. Which is probably why it irritates me to see people banned, anyone at all.....I can handle anyone's opinion no matter how it differs with mine. I don't do the childish games of running to CW if I don't like something on here.

Amazing you guys! That has to be a second person with the rag at the atm. It doesn't prove it was an accomplice, but whoever it is had to have known he/she was helping to use a stolen card. And, what are the odds that you'd agree to hold the rag and not want to know who the card belonged to and what was going on? Maybe Christina really doesn't know what went on since Cesar may have had this person's help to pull this thing off. How can this person not be under arrest? Immunity for testifying? Now, what ever made them decide that burying Maria in the backyard was a good idea... For goodness sake, Cesar was accused of rape and would be the main suspect. You'd think he'd want the body as far away as possible - and not in a grave-sized pit in the back yard. The rag person's hand looked darker skinned to me - the fingernails look lighter than the skin tone.
(I lurk and then pop in once in a while when I just have to say something, LOL).

Re fact vs. fiction......I was talking about stuff that could actually be verified, as opposed to someone's speculation.
I did find what I was thinking about and couldn't remember. There was a lot of discussion on here earlier about CSL being out of town prior to the murder. Then cryme posted that SB had stated she was in town. So......we probably all knew that weeks ago but had forgotten....therefore, MORE needless discussion on here about it.
The idea about a Sticky is just to avoid discussing some stuff that we do know for certain vs. what we don't know and CAN make guesses on.
Another example was the Mapquest. Some were vaguely remembering talk about a Mapquest and it turned out that it was just a poster's "IMO" that it was found in her car. So, speculation...not fact, in that instance.

I understand what you are talking about, SS. In my original post the other night, I did not say anything about mapquest. I was stating in my post about directions looked up on Sgt. Durham's computer. Then CANDY came back with the article that mentioned looking at his computer for directions Maria MAY have looked up. Then also, Captain Sutherland stated in the questions that had been sent to him that he could not answer that question.
For me, it may OR may not be that Maria had looked up any directions.

Since they have put in the bypass, added Western Blvd. extension and a lot of the businesses that once were out on Hwy. 17 have now moved to Western Blvd. extension, there's not a lot of traffic that uses Hwy. 17 in the area of Checker's/Bus Station, etc.

Not meaning to change the subject but I wanted to share this with you all. I had to make a trip out of town today so on the way home, it was decided that oldest DD and I would make a side trip to Meadow Trail.
Here is the pictures I took (these are mine as I personally took them today!):
http://s305.photobucket.com/albums/nn213/Nuttins198/?action=view¤t=BackviewofLaureanhouse31908.jpg
The above is the back view of the Laurean house. Note the Alander's LIVED in the first house in the picture.
http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn213/Nuttins198/sideoflaureanhouse31908.jpg
This is from the purple colored house side. There was people outside so we couldn't stop. And notice the garage window is open.
Now as I alluded to about the Alander's. They are NO LONGER living in the house at 101 Meadow Trail. No swing set in the front yard, no cars, no nothing except for the hearts on the front window.
I do not know if they moved because living there creeped them out and there is the possibility the lease on the house (they were renting) expired and they chose not to renew their lease.

Now that spring is coming, I wonder if anyone will take care of the yard at the Laurean's house. At the very least won't the lawn have to be mowed occasionally? In my area, the city comes and mows your yard if you don't do it, and then they send you a huge whopping bill for their time and trouble.

You know, I feel the same way, but houses are houses to some folks. This topic came up with my parents not long ago, of course I was the one who mentioned it about a particular house where a murder had occured. I said I would never live in a house where someone was killed, and they both said, "why not?" To them it seemed illogical to dismiss a house because of a murder.
Still, it gives me the creeps to think about.

Still, I wonder if anyone could even live there if they know someone was killed in that house. I know I would not. [/*]
I think I could live in it. I'm not a weirdo or anything, but, knowing what happened there I would respect the home where Maria left this world. Probably put up some kind of gazebo/garden in the area where the pit was. Kind of a small house though.

At other houses along the street, yes. But at the Laurean's and Alander's it's a big fat NO.
The grass at the Laurean's hasn't been mowed and there was a bag of charcoal and flower watering bucket sitting on the front porch/stoop.
As an aside, the purple sided house, well it has a purple mailbox post too!
As to how I felt being there, I really didn't feel anything, except wanting to get in and get out because there were people out in their yards.

"May have" looked up directions on a computer does not necessarily mean Mapquest nor does it mean ANY map necessarily, might be just jotting notes down. And it certainly does NOT mean a mapquest map was found in her car.
That's what I don't understand.
But I'm pretty much done with the subject. That's Candy's baby. I was just trying to show that the Mapquest "found in her car" was not fact that we know.

I guess we're believing Wanda when she said that they had painted the living room. There's also the spot in the garage that looks like a sample spot (although probably is an "evidence hider" spot).

The baseboards in their house are white. We know this because of the picture in their living room.
Now there could be other rooms that are white, because surely it wouldn't have taken a whole 5 gallon bucket of paint just to do the baseboards in the living room! (If that was white paint in the 5 gallon bucket)

I agree Henry. It was way too white to need redoing. I think they may have used a part of the garage wall to do a test color for their living room walls. I noticed in the garage photo that a paint tray had white paint in it. I think he used that white to cover up the blood he saw. I think it will become known that no painting of the ceiling was done. The blood spray would have been a fine mist and I don't think he ever thought to even check the ceiling.

We don't know for sure whether CL was the man in her life. We have heard that they dated about a month before the rape allegation - and we don't really know that for sure (although I tend to believe it). And if that is true, we also heard they went places in ML's car, not CL's. Either way, a month isn't very long.
We have also heard that ML is not real "girly-girl". I tend to agree that a lot of women would find out an address, but I am not sure all would. But JMO (and who knows!)

We have also heard that ML is not real "girly-girl". I tend to agree that a lot of women would find out an address, but I am not sure all would. But JMO (and who knows!) [/*]
But if they went places in her car like out to shoot pool and drink some beers his truck would be there from wherever they left from to go.
Just because she was athletic doesn't mean she wasn't very interested in guys that were in her life at the time.

I know Ms. GP! I was generalizing woman, sorry about that.

I still think Maria knew where CAL lived.

I just can't see Cl letting her know where he lives. He is married and I think he would view it as a risk.

His name and I believe Christina's too is listed in the regular phone book along with their address.

Oh I just had another thought----I remember doing a yahoo or mapquest search early on in this case and when the result was returned it actually showed me the Alander's house, not the Laurean's as being 103.
JMO
PS: Thanks to Lynn_T who has solved the mystery as to one possibility as to why the Alander's are no longer living next door. The house at 101 went into foreclosure(s) as of January 7, 2008 and February 4, 2008. The Alander's were not the owner's either.

Now there could be other rooms that are white, because surely it wouldn't have taken a whole 5 gallon bucket of paint just to do the baseboards in the living room! (If that was white paint in the 5 gallon bucket)
JMO [/*]
Got to be it, nuttin! Why paint a room and not paint the baseboards?

I don't know if CAL's off base address was listed but in this picture of the MPO (found in Maria's car) the address listed is his on base work address:

I didn't mean that she wasn't interested in guys in her life. I just meant that not all women look up addresses, drive by bf's house, etc.

IMO, I definately believe Maria knew where the Laurean's lived. I would guess it wouldn't be hard to access his address from the Base records.
Another thought, maybe somewhere along the line she learned of his address via the allegation report she filed

It was alleged by Ms. Renner they went to Sharpshooters. Sharpshooters is over by Office Max (by Wallworld) on Hwy. 17. It used to be the old Scholsky's sub shop.

Not sure where that is as I am not real familiar with Jacksonville (other than from this case!). Is that closer to where ML lived or closer to where CL lived?

Geeze. I just answered you and then hit the wrong key somehow on my new computer and it went poof!:( Grrrr I still don't like this darn keyboard. lol
Anywho........I think there was most likely a map of sorts found in her vehicle. She may have had his physical address but didn't know exactly how to get there from her own home. I also think searches on DDs computer will be very important in this case.
Or the map may have nothing to do with Jacksonville at all but maybe a map of the El Paso area showing a certain part of town with the street names on it.
I do think CS and team have found the connection to El Paso concerning Maria but as he stated in his answers to Nuttin he is not going to disclose what that connection is at this time.

Of course we don't know where Maria was living at that point in time since she only started living at DD's place in Nov. IIRC
