I was in J'ville around Jan 21st and did a run thru from what we knew at the time, clocking driving time etc. This was a weekend and not much traffic. Alot happened in a short amount of time.

Did not notice a second person at ATM. Had to edit my post because I swear I saw second person at Lowe's...maybe I need another cup of coffee!

As for the 14th, driving, traffic. I think it was close. I know Maria could have avoided Western Blvd after the bus station and drove a "back road". That would have some time...maybe 10 minutes. I live here and the only time I find the traffic isn't too terribly bad is 5:30 am on my way to the gym and morning hours. Lunch gets busy and afternoons are busy.

Anyway, welcome and post away with your questions...someone will try to answer them.

Welcome! In answer to your first question - if you're talking about a second person possibly holding the rag in front of the camera - I don't think that is the case. If you will notice as Cesar walks away from the camera, the rag is in his hand. When would the handoff have been of the rag if it were held by someone else? And, if a person stands to the side of the ATM, can they really tell EXACTLY where the camera lens is without looking straight on to the ATM?

Good idea. The 14th didn't end at 7 when CSL supposedly got home. Not saying CSL was there when it happened or helped in the murder, I'm still in the middle on that one. But looking at the entire day of the 14th may open up some doors.

I've always believed (like you suggest) past the time CSL arrived home and into the early hours of the 15th.

My satellite has been down due to high winds and rain and so I haven't been able to read much for the last 3 days; Please excuse me if this has been talked over for days, I think because the autopsy wasn't able to exclusively determine the wound on the neck was post mortem, it may lend more credence to two people being there.

Thanks for pointing us to the new comments - I agree with Nate.

My pure guess is that a few copies of that autopsy report are going to anonymously appear in front of Cesar's relatives & Christina & her relatives. And who knows, someone may translate the report into Spanish & get it to Cesar's kinfolks in Mexico.

Someone at his parents' house said on the phone, 'you don't know the whole story' (paraphrased). Yeah. No kidding. We sure didn't know about a whole lot of things, did we? I wonder if the person making that comment knew that a melted plastic bag containing an item of baby clothing, sized 0-3 months would be found in the fire pit.

On the plus side, since the autopsy report HAS been released, I am sure there are a slew of people who knew Cesar & thought well of him - his friends, his co-workers - who have had a real awakening.

Sutherland remarked that LE has been cutting off his resources. Perhaps someone who knows Cesar & has previously been on the fence about revealing info to LE will have sufficient pangs to their conscience that they will now come forward with additional info regarding his whereabouts, or how he conducted himself during the time the rape allegations were being 'investigated'.

They can if they can get a judge to agree to it. I can't imagine a federal judge simply handing the FBI the permission for it, but if it can be shown to the judge that there is every reason to believe that money is/was being wired to Cesar after he went on the lam, I believe that 'should' be adequate cause to at least ask for permission to surveil. I think the addition of this case having international aspects - between at least Mexico & the USA - that may help the argument for justification for surveillance.

Not trying to go OT or anything, but with the additional leeway given to the Feds in the name of Homeland Security - I think there is a very good possibility that a whole lot of Cesar's known contacts are already being monitored in ways that would probably make most all of us paranoid.

But that's JMO.

I fail to see any usefulness or sense in anonymously putting a copy of the autopsy report on the doorsteps of Cesar's relatives or Christina or her relatives. :rolleyes:

As far as the autopsy changing minds of a "slew" of people who thought well of Cesar....disagree there too. Why would the autopsy make a bit of difference? Do you honestly believe that these people still thought well of Cesar after the publicity surrounding the murder and his fleeing? He was charged with murder. The charred and buried body was recovered. So they thought well of him after that? I don't think so for a minute! But all of a sudden an autopsy report changed their minds? That blows my mind that anyone would think that. Anyone who thought well of him changed their mind after the murder....didn't have to wait for an autopsy.

I also don't think too many (other than crime board people like us) are going to be too interested in the actual autopsy report. They may read a news article about it, but few would probably take the time to download the .pdf file and bother to read the details.

I have contemplated how sick & horrified the people who were in attendance at the Laurean residence probably felt when they learned about what was REALLY in that fire pit while they were there. OTOH, I can imagine that some of Cesar's friends have engaged in all sorts of mental & emotional gymnastics of denial to try to alleviate the horror. True. You don't have to have downloaded the files to have read newspaper articles which stated that the baby clothing in the melted bag was found - something not known previously.

Hmmmm - I had not been thinking about that, but that is a good point, IMO. Sutherland previously stated that a daily update goes on between the LE branches involved, so I can imagine the merits of doing just that could have been discussed.

I feel the release of the autopsy report has created a new outrage toward CAL and even Christina. You can see that it has in the comment section of the Jacksonville newspaper site.

A "poser" Marine is a Marine that carries the title only...they don't act like a Marine. I've also heard Marines be called "skate" Marines...meaning they do as little as possible to just get by and that's it. My opinion of course.

Edited to add: Poser Marines do just that...they pose. They don't hold true to Honor, Courage, Committment...which are our Corps Values. They look good as a Marine in uniform(meaning uniforms always neat/clean/etc) and on paper but that's the extent.

They guy in Cali denied it...don't know the outcome. The guy here in Jacksonville said he didn't write that to the creator of the page. That he could get a hard copy of what he actually wrote. I think he was saying his had been altered. Don't know the outcome of his either.

Mimi, I did some research on the original myspace page that Ms. Collier had. I did so because Cole's father had posted over at JDNews that what we were reading as well as what we had been told wasn't true and that Ms. Collier had sent out a mass of invitations (friend requests) to other Marines (and other service members---Army, etc). Also Parkinh's (sp?) sister was commenting there as well and she basically said the same thing.

So before Ms. Collier changed her the page to the present one, I went and looked at all her myspace friends. In this I found that she had sent out a mass request because there were a lot of those 'friends' who responded stating---thanks for your request to me and the add to your page, I think what you are doing is admirable posts.

Then after these postings were reported, we got a link to the Desert News that the USMC in 29 'Stumps' had investigated and determined that Parkinh (sp?) hadn't made the threatening post(s). I kept delving into her myspace friends and then began noticing that some of the ones who had so staunchly defended Ms. Collier in the beginning were no longer on her list of myspace friends.

So I don't know what to think as to whether they were legit postings or not, but I thought I'd share what I saw when I researched it. Ms. Collier has now changed the original page to what you see now. And there isn't nearly as many myspace friends on there as once was.

There is the possibility that Ms. Collier was trying to get her 15 minutes of fame but it's not up to me to decide if this was what happened in this case.

So I don't know what to think as to whether they were legit postings or not, but I thought I'd share what I saw when I researched it. Ms. Collier has now changed the original page to what you see now. And there isn't nearly as many myspace friends on there as once was.

There is the possibility that Ms. Collier was trying to get her 15 minutes of fame but it's not up to me to decide if this was what happened in this case.

Btw, I just googled and the Venetian is not even owned by Caesar's World - it is owned by Sands. Caesar's World owns Caesar's Palace and some other casinos. And dangit, now I have closed the window to the link, so I will just say IMO!

What if the reason Christina picture is blurred is so if/when they do charge her the jury will not be prejudiced?

But someone-not sure who-was mentioning the autopsy and how the ME is dictating as he does each procedure. Anyway, it was mentioned the ME said 'The head is open'. 'The brain is removed.' But I was looking at the report and he does state "The head is opened." So I think he did open her head himself.

Hi, Barbra...I usually don't make too much out of photographs, tending to think of them as "moments in time." Posed shots especially. I tend to think of those as totally "unreal," not telling you much about the subject, except maybe what they intend to project. I can't remember exactly when, but I picked up the habit of trying to see if smiles "reached the eyes." (covering up the rest of the face) It can be telling, imo.

Yes they can take leave at the same time. You can let your OIC etc. know of your leave dates as soon as you know them just to give them a heads up. The actual leave request doc is usually submitted 2-4 weeks before you intend to take leave. So in as far as a reservist and active taking leave together, it can be managed. Reservist can make up drills if they cannot make it on the designated drill date(s). If the reservist is on active reserve status they may be authorized leave if the section heads allow it.

Hi, hinman...I should add that I'm not too crazy about having my picture taken either! I know that when I am looking through family pics, the candid shots tell the real "story"...and, I might add, bring up the best memories! I agree that CAL is normal looking, but what does a murderer really look like? Take 'Baby Face Nelson' for example! Some murderers are just normal looking people and you see nothing until you look at their eyes after knowing what they have done.

What CAL has done is cruel and depraved beyond imagination. Hindsight is 20/20. Of course he wishes he had not done what he did and realizes his 'notes' were just not believeable. In the wee hours of the morning, it probably sounded very plausible (sp) to him.

He just could not, for whatever reason, admit even to himself, the horror of what he had done. As has been stated - murderers always understate their culpability. And he has also probably given himself excuses for what he did.

I honestly believe that CAL confessed all to Christina before he left.

Was getting ready to post and totally forgot my train of thought.

Anyway, in all the pictures I've seen of Cesar either by himself or Christina, he hardly isn't smiling. Which that in of itself isn't telling because there's some guys-including my husband-who just dont' like taking pictures and dont' smile that big. But in the ones of him and Christina, he just doesn't look happy. When I was pregnant-and this wasn't very long ago-even though my husband doesn't smile big in pictures, you could tell he was happy by the look on his face and in his eyes. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. And looking at some of Cesar's pictures, he never truly looks happy...almost blank. Of course all my observations and opinions.

You are probably right, and I can imagine a male Marine would be even more likely to look 'stoic', especially in posed pictures. I haven't seen any unposed pics of CL. The closest thing I have seen is the other one I mentioned - where he is goofing around (with some buddies, I think) and doing that finger thing that that generation does (LOL - you know, the V for victory, but I don't think it stands for victory!). But I can't visualize his face or even very many details from that pic, and of couse, I don't have it saved!

The past day or so I've been thinking and I've thought of a couple ideas...which they are totally out in left field. But one thing I thought is this....and please don't anyone get upset. So, he kills Maria and according to him she "committed suicide" and he "panicked". Of course he knew noone would buy that story so why not come up with something believable. And I'm not saying this is believable by any means but "Officer, Maria came to my house acting very irrationally. I wasn't going to answer the door as there is an MPO in place and I'm not supposed to be around her. But she kept banging on the door and finally I let her in. She started yelling/cursing/etc at me. She picked something up and hit me with it and I just defended myself. I didn't mean to kill her." Ok, like I said I know it's in left field but I was just thinking that he could have told a better lie than suicide. I guess just like when sheriff's department came and talked to him. He freaked out but he could have played it calm and cool. "Sorry sheriff, I don't know where Maria is. I've heard through people on base that she took off. It's happened before." I don't know. Her daughter was trying to break up a dog fight and was mauled as a result. She took 53 stitches in the leg and is on crutches. The family is okay after the storm. :rose:

Your post reminds me of a documentary I watched some years back...a former POW who went to S. America to identify a Nazi war criminal. She was terrified at the thought of coming face to face with the monster in her mind. Her comment when she did was..."but...he's just a man"...which seemed to bewilder her.

I think it comforts us to think of murderers as monsters...much too scary to think that they could be, for the most part, just like one of us. Please don't misunderstand...I think this crime is beyond sickening...and I hope every day I will see the news that CL has been arrested. That firepit is something that still makes me shudder.

No, he certainly doesn't look like Manson, gaelic!! I "studied" him way back when, a tragedy waiting to happen, imo. What was it he said on the stand...."we're YOUR children!" Scared the living daylights out of me!

Hello everyone..........I'm back!!!!! lol

I have missed being here. I am afraid my entrance wont be Grand LOL....I am way too exhausted for that. Between our daughter being cared for and the worry we have had over her very nasty wounds and my hard drive crashing ...things have been stresssful to say the least.

She has to be watched closely to make sure the red streaks does not go out beyond where it is now (they have marked them off)..if so she is to immediately return to the hospital where she will be admitted. Her leg is so swollen it is unbelievable. We are trying to get her to the doctor and back each time so her hubby won't have to take time off since he just started this job recently.

Thanks so much for those who has taken the time to remember our daughter and who have kept her in their thoughts. We are so afraid of a staph infection setting in or blood poisoning.

But it looks like I came back at the right time. I cant wait to see CSs responses.

Oh btw/I think I hate my new keyboard. My fingernails are long and the keys are very flat and recessed. lol

These are what the house looked like prior to the Laurean's purchasing in Sept.-Oct, 2006.

According to the original listing this is what is what:

Living Room Comments--Ceramic Tile

Dining Room Comments--Ceramic Tile

FLOORS--Carpeting, Ceramic Tile, Vinyl

And under Remarks the following is listed: Get this one fast so you'll have time to enjoy the above ground pool! Very nicely kept. Cathedral ceilings, very open and spacious living areas. Walk in closets in Master Bedroom. Huge backyard with privacy fence. A must see! Please call for appointment

The lack of emotion in CL's eyes is odd to me. The only one where I really see his eyes smiling is when he's holding his daughter by the pool - but that just might be because he's squinting into the sun! (the one that has a really good pic of his Phoenix Rising tattoo).

Are those dining room chairs shown the same ones that were sitting out side the garage? They look similar for certain to me but I don't have that picture. If so maybe the Laurenas bought them from the previous owner.

yea very big difference. But I also know that they were just starting out and may not have had the money to go all out with decorating, etc.

Hi! That is what I was trying to ask for the other day when I was wondering about the homes layout, I just couldn't spit it out or verbalize what I was asking for........I didn't want to see the pics that had already been put out, wanted more of other rooms etc.
