We had her there at 7am this morning and they finally got to her about noon.:(
But it took them about 8 hours before they closed her leg wounds up Saturday. That is why we are sort of worried about infection because the gaping wounds were exposed for so long before they worked on her to even clean them up.

Yes a fall on ceramic would be hard! I have fallen several times on my tiled floor and it hurt like heck and for a while I toted the bruises from hitting the floor. OUCH.
Now I can't tell about the transistion from the BR to the Bath room but it appears to be carpeting.
And I agree with everyone, the house LOOKED so much better before the Laurean's bought it. The grass was green and lush and just overall the house looks as though it was better maintained by the previous owners.
I got a chill when I saw the picture of the backyard too!

Well she has a wonderful, caring father too. He was right by our sides every step of the way. He loves his children deeply and sometimes daddies can convince everyone that things are going to be okay. He is our rock and we lean on him at times like this.
I wish Laurean was caught too Martha but I have no doubt justice will come for Maria and Gabriel. We must hold onto that belief.

LOL, no biggie, I thought someone else had labeled the pics.
I'm guessing someone alot older than the Laurean's owned that house when the photos were taken. Most couples in the their early 20's especially in the Military would not be able to furnish it as such due to income/other.
I'm also thinking those photos of the yard where taken during the good months, not the dormant months when I look at the lawn.
The layout of the inside of house looks much like some in a track not far from me.

I think the real truth is going to be bits and pieces of all of the theories posted. All of the theories are good.
I have a theory that I am not ready to post on the board yet.
The landline and cell phone records are something we are not privy to and will play a tremendous part in this. The computer findings with the directions are also something that we will not know. Maria had looked up directions on Durham's computer, IIRC.
The last time CAL went home on leave, he could have had a talk with his family concerning the situation he was in. He had already made remarks to his buds that he would go to Mexico if it seemed as if he would be convicted of rape. Maybe contingency plans were discussed while he was on leave? CAL's parents seem to have separated at some point. I wonder when that was and if CAL's Dad went back to Mexico? I see from the board here that the Dad has not paid his ticket yet. When a ticket comes up in traffic court and the person is not there, depending on the severity of the ticket, the judge can issue a bench warrant for that person. I wonder if there is a warrant out for the Dad.
All in all, I honestly believe that it is a part of CAL's family helping him.

LE would have to maybe stop his Dad on a routine traffic stop first or he committ some other offense in order for LE to find out that there may be a traffic bench warrant out for him. LE is so busy that traffic warrants are not high on their priority list.
IIRC, I had read here on the board that CAL's Dad had an unpaid ticket. I will just have to MOO all of this as I do not have a link but will go back and look for the post.

Donna, I remember way back at the beginning, people were doing searches of CL's family, and there were two Salvador Laureans.... one was apparently his father, and the other seemed to be about the right age for a brother. So it is not clear to me which one has the unpaid ticket as there isn't a date of birth listed.

I think the truck being in S. Laurean's name is simply because CAL didn't have his credit established enough to finance the truck solely in his name. Besides we don't know when he purchased the truck. I would tend to think the truck purchase was well before their home was purchased.
The truck was probably one of the first things soon after his arrival in Jacksonville. Car dealers around here LOVE it when Marines come in wanting to buy a vehicle!
And perhaps if a bench warrant is posted for his father, that might indeed flush CAL out, but I think it would be unlikely as it seems CAL only cares about himself.

You remember right gpeas. There is/was a Salvador Laurean on one of those high school reunion web sites that lists the age as 31 having attended Palo Alto and the other Salvador listed in people finders is 50 and does not have another Salvador listed as possible relative. There is a Javier S. Laurean, age 41, listed as being a possible relative.

It could have to do with a husband or wife starting a business and there are also advantages in certain tax filing situations. I don't take anything like that to mean a husband and wife are no longer together myself.

All I see here is JOINT TENANCY. On top of that, I do see that his mother has and alias that matches Cesar's so that may be where that came from and it may be normal which has been suggested here before IIRC.
So, I don't know where the idea of the housing info suggesting a split marriage is really coming from.
The names are Elvira Sanchez Laurean aka Elvira S. Ramirez De Laurean and Salvador Sanches Laurean and this was dated 2005.
So is there something later that I am missing?
Thanks again.

I think the house was just bought in CL's mother's name. There could be lots of reasons for that (e.g., his father may have bad credit or any other number of reasons).
From what we have heard from LLE, I have seen no evidence of his parents being separated.. but who knows! Everything in this case could be one way or the other, it seems to me!

You're probably not missing anything CK. I really haven't put much thought into this area as I don't see where it would fit into this case. So maybe the parents bought a house together and sold it in 2006. Mom bought one in her name only in 2005. No telling why that is.

For some reason I thought the tile in the living room looked whiter in the Greta pics than it does in the former owner pics. But it's most likely because the walls were painted a darker color.
BTW, what room is that where you have labed "fireplace"?

Yes, I think babes was just positing about picking up an investment property. I don't really see that as a tie-in to not living together and many times LEGAL DOCUMENTS will have errors even the people themselves don't catch as far as Elvia.

I've seen more than a few clerical errors in legal paperwork. It was a daily discussion when motions were filed in the last case I followed.

For some reason I thought the tile in the living room looked whiter in the Greta pics than it does in the former owner pics. But it's most likely because the walls were painted a darker color.
BTW, what room is that where you have labed "fireplace"?
Geez, can you imagine the former owners thinking they had sold their home to this nice young couple, only to learn that it became the horror house from h#ll. [/*]

Got to remember that Mexican/Latino/Hispanic females often keep their maiden names. A poster that isn't here anymore posted a really good explanation about the sequence. I can't do better. I think the first name may be typos. Ramirez is CALs mothers maiden name. Laurean is CALs fathers fathers last name and the Sanchez is CALs fathers mothers last name. Oh boy, I just confused myself............hope you get the gist of it.
ETA that males also use both maternal and paternal last names.

Like this?
Hispanic Surnames
Most Hispanic countries, including Spain, have a unique naming system in which children are commonly given two surnames, one from each parent.
The middle name (1st surname) comes from the father's name (apellido paterno), and the last name (2nd surname) is the mother's maiden name (apellido materno).
Sometimes, these two surnames may be found separated by y (meaning "and"), although this is no longer as common as it once was. Recent changes to laws in Spain mean that you may also find the two surnames reversed - first the mother's surname, and then the father's surname. Women also retain their maiden name when they get married, making it much easier to track families through multiple generations.

TY Savannah. I thought it was Candy but didn't want to say that incase it wasn't. I have been following too many boards here and mixing up the posters happens to me all the time.

I would like to interject this---this was also something that has been talked about locally too. An 'inside source' has apparently said that there was a mapquest for directions to CAL's house done on DD's computer.
Just wanted to add what the locals were saying so take it for what it's worth, which at this point is probably a big fat zero.

Okay.. so these are my basic 3 theories:
1. ML was raped and eventually abducted and forced to do everything (note, ATM, bus ticket, etc)
(but why the baby clothing?)
2. ML had consensual sex, then filed a false rape allegation because she was upset CL was married.
3. ML was raped (or not), then there was some ensuing discussion between ML and CL.. and somehow she went to his house willingly and then there are multiple possibilities.
Can anyone think of any possible other scenarios other than these 3 basic ones? I realize each one can have multiple spin-offs, but are these the basic three?

Well, thanks for your blessing Ms. Savannah! I might have used that as a basis for my opinion. Directions as linked + car or female never seen there before by four sets of neighbors = the opinion that those directions could have been to his house.

AB, I have been thinking about the smallness of the areas involved.
If CAL struck Maria in the garage by the house door which leads out into the backyard, wouldn't it seem feasible that a strike mark could or would be on the wall or on the boards around the window area? That really wasn't that big of an area, even taking into consideration the tubs weren't present on 12/14/07.

From the crime scene pics we saw, it appears as if there was a small room in the back of the garage, which IMO was probably the laundry room.

also- was the garage the whole front to back of the end of the house or was the laundry room and possibly an 2nd toilet/sink in between the wall where your car would pull up to and the back of the house? Does that even make sense? [/*]
IF, and I'm saying IF, it's like the track homes I mentioned earlier that are in my area one bathroom is off the hall, the other in the MB.
The laundry room is a very small area off the kitchen, recessed with folding doors.

I agree.. this investigation took a 180 degree turn when Christina turned in CL's 'novella'.
It is very interesting to look at the news articles immediately before and after this.
And then to look at the articles a week later. A lot of supposed "facts" changed.. and the oddest thing is that we still don't have clarification on some of the most basic things!

We sure don't have clarification to this day, do we?
CSL and those novellas---they sure packed a whallop. Sure knocked the wind out of a lot of sails, mine included. I honestly had hoped Maria had simply gone away to think, never dreaming of the possibility CAL would allegedly kill her, bury her and then have bonfires over her body.
I think whenever the trial begins, if we have one, we are going to be in for a show.

I agree, Savannah.. which is why I have never posted a theory on the theories thread. However, given this opportunity to send something to Captain Sutherland, I feel obligated to formulate my thoughts into some sort of cohesive pattern.
But, I say pattern because there is no way we can eliminate certain variables. So, my theories will be a lot of if-then-therefore kind of statements....

The only way I can see to do that is to present a few, maybe 3, "basic" theories, with spin-offs as possibilities...

my inclination, and it is pure speculation, is that they (CL's parents) are still together, but for some reason the house purchases are in her name. JMO
(also given what LLE said about his family) [/*]
I wonder who the female was that answered the phone at their house and said we aren't being told the whole story (paraphrased of course)?
1-Elvira or ever how you spell her name (and when I see her name I always think of the Oak Ridge Boys singing Elvira!)
2-Blanca
3-Who knows?
4-Who cares?

yeah.. I agree.. that really has me reconsidering a few things..
I posted the other day whether there was monogramming on the baby clothing that said "Daddy's little boy" and got no response. Maybe that was offensive? I dunno. I was just trying to think of reasons why that baby clothing would be there.....
(I wasn't trying to be offensive)

IMO, the girly thing of finding out where he lived happened way back when Maria had her first inklings he was married. I think she went to his house ONE last time; whether to tell him she was leaving town and keeping her child or that she tried to drop the allegations and couldn't, I'm not sure.
I also think any association between the two stopped on May 12th when he was told of her allegations. (I can't get past having a relationship of any type with someone that accused and filed assault allegations against another person. I also know that could be the bizarre twist in this saga too.)
IMO, it ended in her death because of youth, rage, jealousy and the wrath of a wife. If only the ME had been able to determine that the throat cut was post mortem (other than MAY have been post mortem) I could probably eliminate half of my theory.

JMO [/*]I didn't take offense to it. Pretty good question.
I am usually not offended unless someone gets personal.
