These are just a few of the conflicting stories that posters try to talk about and certain people state that they don't exist. No wonder people question what really is the truth. I have only 1 Centre Daily story in here. There are few about the morning as I haven't researched them yet.
You asked for it, you got it.

<*>"According to Bellefonte police Chief Duane Dixon, Gricar last spoke to Fornicola around 11:30 a.m. Friday. The long-time district attorney had planned to go into the office about noon that day, but instead, he called his girlfriend, who also works in the office, and told her he was out for a drive along Route 192 in Penns Valley. He told her he would not be in at all and no one thought it was unusual."

Gricar was last heard from on Friday, April 15, at about 11:12am, when he called his girlfriend, Patty Fornicola (a clerk in the DA's office) on his cell phone, telling her he was taking a drive along Rt. 192 in the Penns Valley area. The road leads into Lewisburg. Fornicola on April 29, 2005, would say their conversation had been brief, and Gricar had offered no explanation of where he was heading or when he might return. Earlier that morning, Fornicola would say, she and Gracor had gone through their normal morning routine; while she was preparing to go to work, she says, Gricar told her he was taking the day off. She says she left a note for him.

Fox News, On The Record With Greta Van Sustern - Search for Ray Gricar Continues

VAN SUSTEREN: Take me back to April 15th about 11:30 a.m. Did you place the call to him or did he place the call to you?
FORNICOLA: He placed the call to me. I happened to be the person, the receptionist that day and answered the phone and it was Ray.
VAN SUSTEREN: Were you expecting this call or were you expecting him in the office, anything unusual about it?
FORNICOLA: No. When I left for work that morning he had indicated that he was going to take the day off and he had fallen back to sleep. I left him a note asking that if he decided to go anywhere to let me know, so that I could go home and take care of the dog.
And he called and said that, he said "I'm on 192. I'm not going to make it home to take care of the dog. Would you be able to go home?" And I said, "Sure." He said, "Thanks. I love you." I said, "I love you too," and that was the last I heard from him.

Clay: You know, Ray, you know, he was set to go into work that day on April 15th, tax day for us. And he decided he was going to drive to Lewisburg. He called Patty, told her that he was going to be late, and that's the last we heard from him, right around 11:15 on April 15th.

On Friday, April 15, Gricar told his new girlfriend, Patty Fornicola, he wasn’t going to work. He said he thought he might play hooky and head into Lewisburg, an hour’s drive to the east, to do some antiquing. This was not unusual. Gricar would often take half days off to visit antique shops in nearby towns, questing for vintage toys. Small metal cars. Outdated appliances.
Fornicola asked him to call if he wouldn’t be back in time to walk the dog at noon. That was the last time she saw him.

On the morning of Friday April 15, 2005, Patty left for her job, also in the D.A.’s office, but Ray decided to stay in bed.
Fornicola: He said, "I don’t think I’m going to go to work today. I think I’m gonna take today off." I said, "Fine, good for you."
She says a few hours later, Ray called and told her he was taking a scenic drive along a road which led to one of their favorite antiquing spots, nearby Lewisburg.
Fornicola: He said, "I love you." And I said, "I love you, too."
Those were the last words she would ever hear him say.

Q Hi Mr. Bosak, Isn't it standard procedure that law enforcement won't even take an adult missing person case until the person has been missing for twenty-four hours? That leads me to believe Mr. Gricar never returned home after his office visit on April 14, 2005.
Anonymous 7/28/06
A The 24-hour idea is more a TV-generated myth. Patty Fornicola, Ray's girlfriend, did not report him missing until the night of April 15, 2005. Earlier that day, he called her to say he was not going into the office and was taking a drive out toward Lewisburg. Police were able to confirm that location by the cell phone tower Ray's call went through. That was the last call Ray made and the last time anyone has heard from him. Ray was home the night of April 14, 2005. He was still in bed when Patty left for work at the DA's office. He said then he probably was going to "play hooky." So, to get back to the point, for Ray not to have come home by the evening of April 15, 2005 — and not called Patty so she would not worry — was highly unusual an deservedly warranted police attention. After all, Ray was the chief law enforcement officer for Centre County and I am sure made enemies over the years by putting criminals behind bars.
