The Bay County Sheriff's Department has called in dozens of volunteers to help in the search for Pam Biggers.

They say Biggers went into her Panama City hotel room Sunday night and that was the last anyone saw of her.

Investigators say the 52-year-old arrived in Panama City with a friend and checked into the La Quinta Inn on Thomas Drive on Sunday.

Deputies say sometime between 7 pm Sunday night and Monday morning, she went missing.

She left behind all her belongings: purse, cell phone, even her car.

She was last seen wearing a white sweater with black pin-striped pants.

There are more than 40 volunteers looking for her.

Anyone with information about Pamela Biggers should call the Bay County Sheriff’s office at (850) 747-4700.

Although the official investigation continues, family members are now taking the search for Pam Biggers into their own hands.

"You think of nothing but good thoughts, but you can't help but think of something bad," said Don Biggers, Pam's husband.

After days of searching Bay County, today the family split up towards Alabama, Georgia, and farther into west Florida.

Biggers disappeared from her hotel room Sunday night, leaving behind all of her belongings.

Family members were given 1,000 more missing person fliers today to take with them on the road. They say they'll continue to search until Pam's found, but as the days go by it’s getting tougher and tougher.

"I hate the nights. I hate the nights," said Biggers.

They continue to plea for help in hopes that Pam will soon be found.

"If you're watching Pam or you can hear us, we're looking for you. Call somebody, call anybody. Have somebody call home. Have somebody call the police, the sheriff. We'll come and get you, we'll come and get you," said Paula Thomas, Pam's sister.

And though Pam has not turned up, family members say they're thankful to the community for all the help they've received.

Pam Biggers is 5' 8" and weighs about 135 pounds. Deputies believe she's wearing a white sweater and black pants. If you have any information about Pam Biggers, please call 911 immediately.

Deputies still searching for Alabama woman

S. Brady Calhoun|Florida Freedom Newspapers
Thursday February 28th, 2008

A month after she went missing from a Thomas Drive hotel, investigators have not stopped searching for Pamela Biggers.

Bay County Sheriff’s Office investigators searched a wooded area near Pete Edwards Field off Thomas Drive on Wednesday for Biggers, 52, of Hueytown, Ala.

“A day doesn’t go by that we don’t do something on this case,” said Capt. Jimmy Stanford.

Investigators have not ruled it out but have “absolutely no evidence” that suggests foul play, Stanford said.

Investigators also are working with authorities in Jacksonville, Alabama and North Carolina in searching for the woman. Recently, there was a reported sighting of Biggers in Jacksonville, Stanford said.

Biggers came to Panama City Beach on business, her family said. A friend and co-worker reported Biggers missing, saying she had left her purse and cell phone in her room at the La Quinta Inn on Thomas Drive.

Biggers’ bed did not appear to have been slept in, according to an incident report from the Bay County Sheriff ’s Office. Her family said nothing was stolen from her purse.

Family members said Biggers was having mental difficulties recently and believe she may have walked away from her hotel room.

Anyone who spots Biggers should call 9-1-1, officials said.

Finding Pam: Missing woman gone for 7 weeks

(BALDWIN COUNTY Ala.) March 14 -- A Birmingham woman has been missing for 7 weeks. After a possible sighting down along the Gulf Coast, her family and friends are scouring the area in hopes of finding her.

52-year-old Pam Biggers went missing after checking in to a hotel in Panama City, Florida. Her sister says the family is now searching the Baldwin County area after a tip from a trucker that he may have spotted her in Orange Beach.

Friday, Pam's sister Paula Thomas and her friend spent the day going to homeless shelters and local hospitals in a search for the missing woman. It's believed Biggers could be disoriented. She may be suffering from schizophrenia.

Paula Thomas says her sister's illness keeps her moving and she may not know where she is or where she's going. "We've been told that she would know to get out of the rain ..to get food and to get shelter," Paula says.

If you have seen or have any information concerning the whereabouts of Pam Biggers, you can call your local law enforcement agency, or go to the following website:

Note from Peter: This is good news, if they can confirm this sighting then Pam may still be alive but suffering from a psychological brake.

Reward offered in case of missing Alabama woman

By Tony Bridges
PANAMA CITY BEACH

A nonprofit group that helps solve missing-persons and homicide cases has put up a reward for information on a woman who disappeared from a Panama City Beach hotel in January.

Pamela Biggers, 52, of Hueytown, Ala., was last seen Jan. 27. She was in town on business, staying at the La Quinta Inn on Thomas Drive, when a co-worker reported her missing. She had not slept in her bed and left behind her car, purse and cell phone. Family members said she suffered from a mental condition and could have become disoriented. Investigators do not suspect foul play.

Now, the Carole Sund/Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation is offering $5,000 for information leading to Biggers’ return. The foundation was created by Francis and Carole Carrington, parents of Carole Sund. Sund, her teenage daughter Julie and Argentinean exchange student Silvina Pelosso were kidnapped and killed by Cary Stayner while visiting Yosemite National Park in 1999.

Anyone with information about Biggers is asked to call Investigator Mitch Pitts with the Bay County Sheriff's Office at 747-4700.

Volunteers with Texas Equusearch scoured the waters of St. Andrew's Bay Tuesday with a sonar device. They want to rule out the possibility that Pam Bigger's body is submerged..........
"We've worked cases like this before where they have been located alive several months later, so this is one of the things we're really hoping for, but we just feel as though we need to clear some areas just in case something has happened to her," said Tim Miller, Texas Equusearch founder..............

I am fairly familiar with the Panama City area but not with exactly where this LaQuinta is located. It is on Thomas Drive, but is it directly on the beach? Is it near St. Andrews State Park?

My first thoughts when I heard about Pam is that she went for a swim & something happened, but from past experience I know it is usually cold in January & especially the water, so I'm having second thoughts about that. Were none of her clothes missing, such as a bathing suit? What about her room key? If she decided to take a beach stroll, surely she would have at least taken her room key, if nothing else.

If she had a mental break & just walked off, she couldn't have gotten far on her own with no car & no money. Are there businesses in the immediate area of the LaQuinta that maybe have cameras that could have spotted her? Does the LaQuinta have outside cameras?

So many questions, I know, but this one has been disturbing me. Prayers for the family & friends that she will be found safe.

This LaQuinta is new. I think about a year old. It's not right on the beach. The beach is about a mile or so away. No Cams were up at that time. there are business around the hotel now, but when Pam went missing only the Burger King was opened. Now there are other business's opened. the hotel owners are awesome people and have helped in any way they can....
I agree that its would be odd that a person with no money could get far, but I have seen cases where people make it all the way across the country with no money.
I'm just still praying that she is found, and brought back to her wonderful, loving and kind family!

I had not ever heard of this case. How mysterious. She does simply seem to have disappeared!! It's just crazy. I wonder if they have searched the Jane Doe Network for any one with similar characteristics? Since she didn't have any ID on her, I guess, if she was found, no one would know who she is.

I sure hope this family finds her soon - looking at the balloon release pics, on her birthday back in October, was so sad.
