Starting a new thread for Missing Jennifer Kesse. Jennifer Kesse was abducted from in or near her condo complex, Mosaic at Millenia near the Mall at Millenia in Orlando, FL on January 24, 2006. Her car, a black 2004 Chevy Malibu was found two days later at Huntington on the Green condominiums, located on Texas Ave and Americana Blvd in Orlando, FL.

Tomorrow, November 24, 2007, marks 22 months since Jenn was abducted. I will update this thread with links as I go back and find them. Please keep Jenn and her family in your prayers, and if you see anything, please add. Thanks.

Below is information from the family's website, www.findjenniferkesse.com

The Search For Jennifer Kesse

We understand that many visitors to this website are looking for more information about what happened to our daughter Jennifer. We are very grateful to the local and national media for all the coverage that has been provided to our search efforts they have done a tremendous job. We can not say enough about the support of residents in the Orlando area and the volunteers who have come from all parts of our state, out of state, including tourists visiting the area who have donated their time to assist with our search efforts.

Jenn, as family and friends know her, was reported missing when she failed to show up for work on the morning of Tuesday January 24th, 2006. For those of us close to Jenn, we knew something must be wrong. If she was going to be late for work or a meeting she would call. In fact Jenn had good routines she and Rob, her boyfriend called each other everyday while driving to work in the morning and would speak with each other every night before going to bed. On the night of Monday January 23rd, she talked to my husband and I, later with some friends and she and Rob talked by phone as usual and that was the last anyone has heard from Jenn.

She and Rob did not talk the morning of Tuesday January 24th. Rob called Jenn at work and was told she had not arrived yet. When she did not show up for work, her employer immediately called us to see if we knew where Jenn was, we tried to reach her at the condo and on her cell phone and were unsuccessful. We left our home and after arriving at her condo, and not finding her at home, immediately notified the police.

On Thursday Morning the 26th, police found Jennifer's car abandoned in an apartment complex not far from where she lived.

Jennifer is a strong, fun loving, career minded and responsible young lady if she was running late to work she would have called which is why we all became concerned immediately. At no time had Jennifer shown signs of discontent with her life, relationships or work environment.

As I am sure you all can appreciate, this has been an extremely stressful two weeks. We would encourage you to visit the various media websites their coverage has been detailed and accurate.

The Orlando Police Department and all of the other agencies involved have been extremely professional, keeping us posted on a regular basis. We know they are doing everything in their power to help bring Jenn home safely.

Please keep Jenn in your prayers and visit her website for updates. Please think about everyone you know if you believe someone you know or suspect someone you may know might be involved, please call Crimeline immediately and share that information it may be nothing or it may be the missing piece of information that will help bring Jenn home safely. Thanks again to everyone for interest, assistance and support.

Family Letter – November/December 2007

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe Holiday Season. We thank you for all the support you have given Jennifer and our family through the past 23 months but most importantly we thank you for not giving up on Jennifer and for helping and continuing to keep the awareness of her Abduction on 1/24/2006, strong, growing and alive. Please know that Jennifer’s case is not cold! Tips still to this day come in from numerous sources and it is because of your efforts that will ultimately help bring home Jennifer. There is more manpower, resources and energy at this point in time working Jennifer’s case than any other time in the past. The authorities will not give up, they have assured us of that and truly believe Jennifer will be found.

We are planning events for the 2 year mark since Jennifer’s abduction and they will be finalized soon. We know we will be on “The Corner”(John Young Parkway & Americana Blvd.) Thursday, 1/24/2008 for the morning and the evening rush hours, holding Jennifer’s Reward Posters to remind people she is still Missing and endangered . We are also planning a community event for 1/26/08 in Orlando and those details will follow in early January, so please check back then.

The proposed Missing Persons Law we are working on is doing very well (please see front page of website for details of proposed law and how you can help). We have secured sponsors in the Senate, Sen. Lee Constantine of Altamonte Springs and in the House of Representative, Rep. Evan Jenne of Davie, with approximately 12 co-sponsors and growing. FDLE has done great work in writing the proposed Bills as well as gaining support for them to proceed. We will keep you posted as it goes through committees and the help we will need to contact committee members to express your support for the Bills.

Many people ask us how do we stay positive and focused. Mostly it is our unconditional love for Jennifer which will never waiver. One of our many volunteers recently passed this writing on to us and we thought it explains our positive attitudes and hope. We hope it can help others who face negative experiences on any level.

With humbled thanks,

Drew, Joyce, Logan Kesse and Rob Allen

Positive experience

+++++++++++++++++++

The best response to a negative experience is to create a positive experience. Instead of fighting against life's misfortunes, transform them into useful and worthwhile value.

When things go wrong, you have a choice. You can wallow in self pity or you can seize the opportunity for self improvement.

In every disappointment there is the seed of fulfillment. In every weakness there is the seed of strength.

Problems and difficulties provide reliable pathways to achievement. There is value to be gained from every experience when you choose to see that value and to bring it about.

You never have to be the victim of random circumstance, or of any other circumstance for that matter. For instead of choosing to be the victim, you can always choose to make a positive difference.

Life is often unfair, and comes to you in ups and downs, but that doesn't really matter. For you are free to make of it whatever you choose.

Somebody has got to know something about this missing young lady. It is just inconceivable to me that a person can simply vanish from the face of the earth and nobody knows anything. There does seem to be a lot of crime in and around Orlando but usually they do manage to solve the cases, I think. Every time I see one of the posters with her picture posted at an intersection I say a prayer that she will soon be located.

THIS WEEK'S SPOTLIGHT: DREW KESSE
Fighting to find daughter

Willoughby Mariano | Sentinel Staff Writer
June 8, 2008

Since Orlando resident Jennifer Kesse vanished in January 2006, her father, Drew Kesse, has worked to keep her name and plight on TV and in the newspapers. He has attracted international attention to the case, but his daughter, who was 24 when she went missing, has not been found. This coming Saturday, her story will be featured on CBS's '48 Hours Mystery,' which airs at 10 p.m. on WKMG-Channel 6. He spoke recently with Sentinel reporter Willoughby Mariano.

Are there any major developments in the case?

No. Unfortunately Jennifer's abduction remains a mystery to authorities, as well as the identity of the suspect. . . . Having said that, most of the authorities working her case as well as our family think that we will find Jennifer. Whether for the good or bad, we believe Jennifer will come home and we are prepared for that day.

Where do you think Jennifer is?

This is a tough one. Within our family there are several thoughts on where we think Jennifer may be. Mine, in particular, revolves around the theory that she was unknowingly stalked, taken at an opportune time and is far away from Orlando and maybe the U.S. . . . Ask me in five minutes, I would probably tell you something else.

Explain your theory.

Nothing of Jennifer's has been found, used, et cetera, which gives me great hope that she may still be alive and waiting to be rescued or escape. I am, however, realistic in the sense that Jennifer may not be with us any longer after such a long period of time missing. Either way, Jennifer needs to be found and brought home.

What was it like to be involved in the '48 Hours' story?

It was an incredible yet stressful experience. From the executive producers to Peter Van Sant, the Emmy-award-winning investigative journalist who did our interviews, all were compassionate, professional and caring in every sense of the word and treated us and Jennifer with great respect.

Did you expect to be able to maintain interest in your daughter's case for so long?

Yes. I will do whatever it takes to keep the awareness of Jennifer's abduction high and find her. It's called unconditional love and a very positive attitude. I am by far not alone in this effort. Jennifer's family, friends and incredible volunteers work tirelessly to keep her name and face in the public's eye all over the world. . . . I have developed skills which I can apply to the effort. I very rarely, if ever, turn down interviews; they are an integral part of finding Jennifer. Do I like what I have to do? No. Our lives are now public, which is not of interest to me at all.

Your daughter's disappearance has taken a huge toll emotionally. What about financially?

Without going into too many particulars, it has cost a lot of money thus far -- a lot. I am, much to contrary belief, not a wealthy person, financially; in fact, far, far from it. People have been extremely generous; however, most if not all of any savings for my future is now depleted. My wealth comes in the form of family, friends and volunteers.

People try to comfort you. What's the worst thing they can say?

"Jennifer has been chosen for a higher purpose, which will come to light someday." To add to that, people often tell us they don't know what to say. [That] you care says it all.

Does it get any easier?

No, no, no, no. And in case you didn't get it -- no. It is an absurd notion to me. How I personally suffer within means nothing. It is all about Jennifer. Period. End of discussion. Think of what Jennifer is or has gone through for over two years in her hell. My feelings or sense of ease don't count at all and shouldn't. I get to eat, shower, sleep, come and go pretty much as I please. I don't think Jennifer has or had that ability.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.

Willoughby Mariano can be reached at wmariano@orlandosentinel.com or 407-420-5171.

I cannot find a link and may not be precise on the details but Jennifer was mentioned on the Tampa news this evening.

There is another young woman who, IIRC, went missing on Tues. and who's body was found on Weds.

A 19 y.o has been arrested. A 19 y.o who had been arrested when he was 17 for, IIRC, sexual battery.

And he is being looked at in regards to Jennifer.

Thanks Cury. When I looked lastnight, up to an hour after heaing about it on the news, I couldn't find a link. It must not have been on the home page at the time.

This morning, I see it listed on a couple Tampa outlets.

This is the closest the family has had to any kind of break in this case. While its to early and no reason to get hopes up, this must be a difficult thing for them.

I actually hope it is the perp so they can finally find out what happened to Jennifer.

This sick twist started young. We have a similar teen rapist in Tampa. Raped a girl who was dropping books off at a library. DNA linked him to an unsolved rape from a year ago where he attacked a day care worker in the early morning hours.

Family Letter, July 2008 -

As we approach the 2 1/2 year mark since Jennifer was abducted January 24,2006, we, her family, would like to again thank all of those who support Jennifer in our efforts to find her. We remain strong, focused and working hard to find Jennifer as well as multi Law Enforcement Agencies working Jennifer’s case. Leads continue to come in and with the recent CBS 48 Hours special on Jennifer, 7/2/08, the tips have once again increased dramatically, for which we are greatly thankful. All involved still have great hope that Jennifer’s abduction will be solved. This is NOT a Cold Case! We continue to ask that if you know any information or anyone who does, that they reach out to whomever they feel comfortable with in giving that information to, be it police, Crimeline (there are still rewards for Jennifer and the Suspect), a lawyer, clergy, or media outlet. They will get the information to the right people for follow up. To this day nothing has been found or used of Jennifer’s and that fact gives us a continued source of hope and energy in the fight to find her.

As we have stated in the past, we will not go away, we will not stop the awareness needed to find Jennifer and bring her home where she belongs and we will not be intimidated or discouraged as time passes. Are we desperate? Yes, the time Jennifer has been Missing is simply too long. People must remember that there is an ABDUCTOR still loose and must be found and brought to justice. If we can identify the Suspect who last drove Jennifer’s car and walked away, we will find Jennifer! Imagine for 1 second 2 people falling off the face of the earth and no one knows where they are? Just not possible. The clues are there for us to find and put together, there is at least one person and most likely more that know what has happened to Jennifer – they need to speak up, step forward and lead us to our daughter - NOW.

July 1, 2008, the Jennifer Kesse-Tiffany Sessions Missing Persons Act took effect. The new law greatly enhances who can report a Missing Person, what information must be taken and put into local and state databases quickly and efficiently and collect DNA if after 90 days the person has not been located. Thanks to the many people who worked so hard to make the law a reality.

Ordinary people can make a difference in their communities and they must also take back their communities from the lawless criminals, those who do not respect our laws which make us the greatest country in the world. Not until we, as a community, stand up and say enough is enough will we make our communities safer. Take stock in your community and be its’ eyes and ears. Police cannot do it alone. They are there to support you, you must take the actions needed to fight crime, if not, there will be no one to blame but ourselves for letting a small percentage of our population ruin our neighborhoods and freedoms we so greatly enjoy. Be the Solution! Rise to the occasion and make a difference today. You see a crime call police. You know of a crime, call police, for you may be the next victim!

We hope that you all continue to pass on Jennifer’s information to everyone you know and ask them to pass it on also. Together we will find our missing loved ones – together we will bring them all home and together we will make our city, county, state and nation even a better place to live.

May Good win over evil,
Kesse family and friends

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Convicted murderer David Byron Russ met privately with the father of Jennifer Kesse and provided information that could lead Orlando police detectives to one or more suspects in her disappearance.

Kesse, who was 24 when she disappeared, has been missing since 2006. Russ awaits sentencing in the Seminole County Jail for the murder of a Longwood woman.

Drew Kesse visited Russ for just more than one hour on Dec. 23 and told WESH 2 news reporter Greg Fox he provided information to investigators. (Watch WESH 2 News this afternoon, starting at 5 p.m. for exclusive video with Kesse and Russ, as well as more details about the information.)

A spokeswoman for the Orlando Police Department e-mailed WESH 2 News, saying neither of the two primary detectives working the case would comment.

Kesse said he was surprised in December to get a letter from Russ, who is waiting sentencing in the murder of a Longwood woman in 2007. Russ invited Kesse to the jail so he could discuss information about Kesse's daughter.

"It was a strange conversation. There's no taking that away. It ran the whole gamut. He talked about his family, I talked about mine," Kesse said. "He knows my feelings about Jennifer, he knows our feelings about Jennifer, that's for darn sure, and I think he was trying to help."

Kesse told WESH 2 News Russ told him he's developed information from behind bars that more than one person, possibly individuals who are currently locked up, were behind her disappearance. Kesse declined to provide specifics, saying he wants to protect Russ from retribution from other inmates.

"It's up to the investigators to see if there is any value to it, or not," Kesse said.

Mother Joyce Kesse added, "You also have to kind of look at trying to some degree, protecting him, you know."

In an exclusive interview with WESH 2 News reporter Dave McDaniel, Russ offered some hope of solving the case, but not in the manner which her parents have been praying.

"I'm pretty sure that the information that we gave them, is going to help them to find resolve, to find closure. I haven't really felt optimistic about the possibility of Jennifer still being alive, but I don't want to omit that, because there's hope in the family," Russ said.

This Saturday marks three years since Jennifer Kesse vanished. She had been living in a condominium near the Mall at Millenia in Orange County at the time.

In May 2007, police released surveillance video taken near the condominium complex, Mosaic at Millenia, where Kesse lived. It shows a person, about 5 feet 5 inches tall, walking by the gates.

Police said other surveillance video shows someone parking Kesse's car near the complex.

In April 2008, police released photos of a shamrock tattoo on Kesse's left hip and of the purse they believe she was carrying when she disappeared.

The Kesse's said they get new leads through Crime Line every week. This weekend at the Mall of Millenia they will host an even to raise public awareness about missing adults and children. It will be held in the community room near the Banana Republic store between 11a.m. and 3 p.m.

Months ago I had stopped in the Ocala National Forest and it just happened that they were searching somewhere in the forest that day.
I spoke to an officer from MCSO and asked if they were looking for Trenton and was surprised when they told me no that they were looking for Jennifer, that the killer was already in jail for something else and they were sure Jennifer was somewhere in the forest.

Yes I heard that from a friend of mine but with the holidays and all I never heard anything else. Of course if they found Jennifer it would be big news. And I never stop thinking about Trenton. Hope they find them someday. I pray every day.

I spoke to an officer from MCSO and asked if they were looking for Trenton and was surprised when they told me no that they were looking for Jennifer, that the killer was already in jail for something else and they were sure Jennifer was somewhere in the forest.

Killer in jail for 'something else'.

Was it ever ruled out that the jogger murderer from the Orlando park had anything to do with Jennifer? I remember early on, they were looking for a link. TIA

Very interesting, Lucky. I too, would have thought of Trenton, searching in those woods.

A deck of playing cards featuring the unsolved case of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse led to a meeting between her father and a confessed murderer.
David Byron Russ met face-to-face with dad Drew Kesse in the Seminole County Jail to pass on tips about the case, Kesse said Tuesday. Russ told the father during the December meeting that a playing card with information about Jennifer Kesse got him thinking about her disappearance.

I don't have a link (but I think it was posted earlier on this thread), but LE are saying that the information coming from this meeting was not new to them, and this is not a big break in the case. I am, however, really glad to see that the cards produce results. Who knows, maybe Russ is not telling all he knows (hoping for a lighter sentence), or someone else will see the cards and will come forward.

She shared concerns about living at the condos.. She had some concerns with the maintenance crew. Her boyfriend said she was uncomfortable with the workers around. The buildings had just recently been converted to condos and only a handful of residents live in her unit.

Has the maintenance crew been ruled out? The pictures of the "person of interest" looks as if they could be wearing a painter or maintenance uniform of some sort in addition to work boots & hat.

I agree he/she looks like a painter. It looks like they're wearing coveralls. I've watched the coverage on JVM last week and last night and everytime I see that photo, I keep thinking it could be a woman.

Wow! I hadn't even considered the possibility that the person in the photo could be a female. If the perp was a female, I can't think of a good enough motive.....after all, if I recall correctly, nothing of Jennifer's was taken.

Her cellphones are missing but you're right it's difficult to come up with a motive if it's a woman unless it involved jealousy of some sort. An ex girlfriend of her current boyfriend? Or if it is a woman, could she have been an accomplice? Just throwing out possibilities.

Like I said, I only base this on that blurry photo of the person of interest. His body size doesn't look like a man to me.

I hope LE has considered all possibilities including it being a woman.

Orlando police have released few clues publicly in the case, but have photos of a "person of interest" with whom they would like to speak. The person is seen in frames from a security video at the complex where Kesse's car was found. The frames were taken the day Kesse was reported missing. The FBI was called in to help determine the person's size and gender, but could only say the person was someone who was about 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-5.

Jennifer Kesse case: Parents see new connections
Jennifer Kesse's parents see links to the case of Tracy Ocasio, missing from Ocoee
3:18 PM EDT, June 4, 2009
The parents of missing woman Jennifer Kesse said they see connections between their daughter's disappearance and that of Ocoee woman Tracy Ocasio, according to a WESH.com report.

Drew and Joyce Kesse said their daughter, Jennifer Kesse, had gone to the Tap Room in Metro West -- the bar 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio was last seen at -- and had lived near the establishment at one time, the Web site said.

Jennifer Kesse also worked in Ocoee for four years, where a person of interest in the Tracy Ocasio case lives and where Tracy Ocasio's car was found.

Please, please let him tell the truth if he is responsible for Jennifer's disappearance.

Detectives Find Possible Link To Jennifer Kesse Case

They say Jennifer worked in Ocoee where Hataway lives and she also frequented Metro West where Tracy Ocasio was last seen alive.

James Hataway, 28, who is the focus of investigators in two disappearances and possibly four assaults, is 5 feet 10 inches tall and police say he could be the man who was captured by a surveillance camera walking away from Jennifer Kesse's car three and a half years ago.
For the sake of Jennifer's parents and fiance, I hope they can get a firm idea of where this guy was on the day that Jennifer disappeared. Those poor folks need some closure.

You really think it's him? that would be great if it is! But for some reason, the little of that video clip seems to show a "slight male" and this guy doesn't look small. But I could be wrong, that video doesn't show very much that is helpful (actually nothing, since no one came forward, or they were protecting him).

Like I said, it would be great if it is him and they can get him a) to admit it and 2) tell where her body is.

Hi guys, sorry for the blocks. All I get from overseas are attackers day and night so I just block most overseas IP addresses. Same for free email addresses, as mentioned many do.

First, thanks for taking a look at the suspect blowup pictures. We can discuss them here, although I welcome registrations of course. Email me at admin (or anything will do) @ justiceforchandra.com or if you can see the blowups I place my personal email address on the page. Give me an IP address or email address that's blocked and I'll unblock it except for stuff like gmail or hotmail. The attacks are just too numerous from those.

Also, I've written a great deal on this but lost somewhere in all of it I describe blowing up the pictures and analyzing them. I did it two years ago with a Windows Me laptop with a dialup connection and a free or low priced copy of Paint Shop Pro. It's not the computer, it's the effort you put into it. Believe me, not many are going to go through the weeks of effort it took me so of course police, experts, etc. never looked and found this stuff.

In fact, the one expert the Orlando police turned to (paid, I assume) to look at the suspect's head and determine what they could responded "could be male, could be female. Could be a hat, could be hair. I don't know." That's what I started out doing, trying to figure that out, and weeks into it was able to draw some conclusions. Paid experts aren't going to put in that kind of effort for what the police can pay them to take a look.

Anyway, Trigger and Leanne please email and I'll find out what to unblock.

I'll monitor this thread and discuss if I can add anything.

Also. PS, Guandique's trial is coming up in a few months. I wrote Murder on a Horse Trail: The Disappearance of Chandra Levy back in 2003-2004 and made it available to the public to read on my site. Hopefully you all will read that before the trial comes up for a full analysis of the events surrounding her death.

I will be glad to discuss that in an appropriate thread as well if any comments.

regards,
rd

I had the same feeling at first but now I don't know anymore. Hataway is taller than the POI in the video.

I just hope that in both cases, the police aren't just focusing on Hataway and a murderer is still out there. I realize Hataway has a history of violence and he could very well be the guy but until there is real proof he murdered Tracy or Jennifer, they need to continue their search, imo.

New Search Under Way for Missing Florida Woman Jennifer Kesse

Family members launched a search for new clues Saturday in the case of a Florida woman believed to have been abducted from her home near a mall more than three years ago, MyFOXOrlando.com reported.

It wasn't clear whether there was anything specific that prompted the latest effort to find evidence about the 2006 disappearance of the 24-year-old woman, Jennifer Kesse.

About 70 certified volunteer searchers from around the state arrived in Orlando on Friday to help Kesse's parents find their missing daughter.

The trained searchers, many of whom are former or current firefighters, are funding the effort out of their own pockets, according to the local FOX affiliate.

Crews will be searching within a three-mile radius around John Young Parkway and Conroy Road on Saturday and Sunday. They'll use airboats with sonar, an amphibious vehicle, a remote-controlled drone airplane and cadaver dogs.

“This search is a joint ... effort with FL-3 ASAR as the sponsor of this mission working with five other top-notch certified search teams in Florida," according to a statement on a Web site established to find Kesse. "All six teams will take an equal part in this ... mission."

Kesse, who managed timeshare finances at a real estate company, was last heard from the night of Jan. 23, 2006, and never went to work as scheduled the next morning.

Her abandoned car was discovered about a mile from her Orlando home. Surveillance video taken on the grounds of her apartment complex shows an unknown man parking her black Chevrolet Malibu on the afternoon of Jan. 24.

There is a $10,000 reward for any information that leads authorities to the driver caught on camera.

Parents of 27-year-old Tracy Ocasio, who has been missing from a nearby neighborhood bar since May, hope the Kesse search crews will find clues leading to their daughter as well.

In January of this year, a convicted killer contacted Kesse's father saying he had information about his daughter's disappearance. David Russ, who in May was sentenced to death for the 2007 murder of 58-year-old Madeleine Leinen, asked to meet with Drew Kesse about Jennifer.

Detectives doubted Russ' claims, which did not lead to a break in the case.

There have been few other leads since Jennifer Kesse vanished. Months after her disappearance, her photo turned up on dating Web sites for lesbians and the elderly.

Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Orlando Police Department at (407) 246-2470 or the Kesse family tip line at (407) 722-2162.
