GREENWICH, N.Y. -- Texas-based Equu-Search will arrive in the North Country Monday to begin looking for missing Washington County 12-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker. Equu-Search has been involved in the search for Natalie Holloway.

Over the weekend, teams of forest rangers and trainees once again combed the area near the house Jaliek was said to be last seen in November. Since then, police have received hundreds of leads, but have turned up nothing so far.

Jaliek's adoptive father, Steven Kerr, has been named a person of interest in this case.

I fear it will be many years before anything is found of this youngster, if ever.

I wonder if he was dumped into a dumpster somewhere in heavy bags. If so, unless a tipster comes forward, he won't be found and his adopted father (?) gets away with it. That is my opinion.

Did they check dumpsters ?

Poor Jaliek.

Hi Annie :seeya:

If Jaliek was dumped into a dumpster then the chances of finding him are slim. They would have to narrow down what dumpster it could be and then where that dumpster is emptied, what transfer station and what section. It would be difficult but it can be done, I recall another case where a landfill was searched but I don't remember which one it was. The problem is, at the time Jaliek went missing LE were looking for a runaway. Kerr's stroy has been proven to be incorrect and he lied about the route he took.

Prayers for Jaliek :rose:

Hi, I remember the circumstances of the initial disappearance and that is what I am afraid of. If that monster dumped his body (I almost hate to write that, it hurts so) in a dumpster, we may never know and without a body....Kerr will get away with it...

Yes, there was another case of a dump site being searched and that was the result of a tip, wasn't it ? But it would have to be done in a grid and the odds would be slim of recovery. What a sad story.

Most likely, the outcome of this story will not turn out to be what we would like to see. There are so many tragic cases out there, I wish the world would change for the better. I agree with you, if Jaliek was disposed of in a way other than a shallow grave or in the water we might never get to the end of this. It hurts to think about it :( Oh and then there's Kerr's work, I have wondered about that as it's on 40+ acres and they create phantom body parts and even whole bodies. Creepy!

I think they did act on a tip in the other case. We don't know what LE are working with now, maybe that's for the best. I know that they are treating every piece of information as important to the investigation, not leaving anything out.

From the article it says that TES arrived today. I wonder how the search went or if they even were able to search. You know I really hope and pray that Jaliek is found.

But like Annie said I really don't believe that he is going to be found. I think Kerr did something with him to make sure he was never found.

I also agree to what Huskiki says about the 40 acre of the company he use to/ does work for has. I think Kerr used a chemcial on Jaliek and decompsed his body. of course as always JMO....

GREENWICH -- A search group from Texas will bring new tools to the search for Jaliek Rainwalker Tuesday. Tim Miller, the director of Texas EquuSearch, arrived today and met with Greenich-Cambridge Police Chief George Bell for two hours. Tuesday, Miller expects to begin underwater searches with sonar and may bring in a drone airplane equipped with a high-resolution camera. Searchers have found the remains of five people using the drone, Miller said. The searchers download images from the drone onto a laptop computer and study them for anything unusual.

Jaliek is a 12-year-old boy who went missing Nov. 1. His adopted father was the last one to see him.

EquuSearch, founded in 2000, is an outgrowth of a mounted search and recovery team Miller organized after his 16-year-old daughter was abducted and murdered in 1984 in North Galveston County, Texas. The group searched unsuccessfully for Natalee Holloway, the 18-year-old from Alabama who disappeared on a trip to Aruba, but have found the remains of other missing people when previous efforts failed.

Barbara Reeley, whose daughter, Jocelyn McDonald, is Jaliek's adopted mother, asked Miller to search for Jaliek.

"I'm interested in their research and the drone planes, water sonar, horses and ATVs -- the whole list of resources they have," Reeley said. "It doesn't cost the state or the town any money, it all runs on donations."

Miller said the time that has gone by since Jaliek's disappearance makes the search harder but not impossible. He referred to a Mississippi case where EquuSearch found in 15 minutes the remains of a woman who had been missing for six months and an Illinois woman who was found on the second day of searching after she had been gone for five months.

"It's difficult but not impossible, but we'll need, and we always need, a little bit of luck," Miller said.

For more information about EquuSearch and to fill out an application to become a searcher, go to http://www.texasequusearch.org. More information about Jaliek is available at http://findjaliek.org.

On another note, I cannot find the article online, but WRGB out of Albany mentioned that TES is not here to actively look for Joshua Szostak but are hopeful they may find something on him too.

Godd Morning everyone. I am going to keep a close eye on what's happening this week. I will post what I find. Here is an article from Capital News 9, which is a local Time-Warner channel up here in Albany.

http://capitalnews9.com/content/top_stories/114189/help-from-texas-in-rainwalker-search/Default.aspx

COLONIE, N.Y. -- "When you get a call from a grandmother that says please help me I am not a person that can say no," said Texas Equusearch Founder & Director Tim Miller.

It was Jaliek Rainwalker's grandmother Barbara Reeley who called Tim Miller. He's the founder of Texas Equusearch. Along with Jaliek's grandfather Dennis, the missing Greenwich boy's grandparents met Miller as he stepped into Albany International Airport and also stepped into a search that is over 5 months old.

"I'm not going to say that I am thoroughly optimistic but I look back at our past record and we and brought home over 260 alive, many of them would be dead," said Miller.

Miller said his group is made up of volunteers and said they have a variety of searching skills, including many who ride horses. He said they have worked on high profile cases like the Natalie Holloway disappearance and said the next step is to get the lay of the land.

"We have to look at the area and meet with law enforcement, spend a lot of time with the family do a lot of talking with god and see where it is going to take us," said Miller.

It was Jaliek Rainwalker's grandmother Barbara Reeley who called Tim Miller.

Miller started the group in honor of his daughter, Laura. She was raped and murdered in 1984. Reeley said she's waited weeks to meet with Miller and wants to see what he can do.

"We both lost someone that we love dearly, and I think that he knows how we are feeling," said Reeley.

"I remember that 17 months that she was missing I know what these families are going through," said Miller.

Miller said along with the horses, he has divers, dog teams, and pilots available for searching. He said once he meets with law enforcement he'll have better idea how he can help.

*****

Please go to the link - this article also includes a video of Jaliek's grandparents meeting Tim at the Albany Airport. It almost brought tears to my eyes. It is just a sad situation. And anytime I see Tim involved in cases I just want to find him and give him a great big hug. He does what he does because he wants to, not for the money or the fame. We need more people like him and less of the creeps out there.

Hi tbw :seeya:

Tim Miller is a wonderful man. He lost his daughter and turned his loss into something positive. He runs an excellent organization and I know he will do everything possible to find Jaliek.

Are you here in the Capital District? I'm near Albany.

I live about 30 miles south of Albany but I have been following the case. People in my area have been looking for Audrey May Herron for almost 6 years now. I had written to her sister-in-law regarding Tim Miller and TES and like 2 weeks later I read about his helping with Jaliek. It just seemed weird that I was thinking about TES and then they do come to NY.

We're not far from each other. I think about Audrey from time to time, I've listed her on my blog. How do people just go missing? Well, we know how but why are people so cruel? That is weird that you were thinking about TES and then here they are. I hope that her sister-in-law contacted them. I know that TES will also be helping in the Joshua Szostak case too.

Search to Start on Monday - Tim is having his equipment shipped here..

http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=680973&category=&BCCode=&newsdate=4/15/2008

GREENWICH -- The Texas search and recovery outfit, EquuSearch, will likely begin looking for Jaliek Rainwalker Monday, the group's director and Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell said today.

EquuSearch director Tim Miller said he is having underwater sonar equipment and a drone airplane shipped here. Jaliek, 12, went missing Nov. 1 while in the care of his adopted father, Stephen Kerr.

Bell said he is glad to see Miller.

"He has the tools and equipment to go into places we haven't been able to get to," he said. "I welcome most anything we can do to help find this kid."

Kerr, who has since moved his family to Vermont, said after Jaliek disappeared that the boy ran away, but police fear he is dead.

CAMBRIDGE, N.Y. - To the Texas EquuSearch team, Jaliek Rainwalker is case number 861. But he's more than a just number. The group's founder knows exactly what families of missing people go through.

Texas EquuSearch Director Tim Miller said, "One morning my own daughter disappeared. Police said she was a runaway. We couldn't get any help. We were paralyzed and didn't know what to do."

Seventeen months later, Tim's daughter Laurie was found dead. She had been murdered and left in a field just 2 1/2 miles from his home. Several years later, a family of another missing person contacted him, asking him for help.

"That moment is when I made a promise to Laurie and to God that I'd never leave a family alone," he said.

In 2000, Texas EquuSearch was founded. It's sole purpose is to help locate missing people, and while it started as a group of searchers mounted on horseback, it's become much more.

Greenwich-Cambridge Chief of Police George Bell said, "It's an additional set of tools to help look for Jaliek. It's a real positive thing."

Miller said, "On Jaliek's case, we're bringing in some people from a sheriff's department in Minnesota and their sonar equipment. We're bringing in a a drone place from Texas and ground crews from Atlanta."

The services are free of charge. The group website lists hundreds of missing people, some of whom are still missing, and some of whom have been found with the help of Tim Miller and his team.

"We brought more than 260 alive and many would have been dead. As of two weeks ago, we recovered our 82nd victim. The only thing I regret now on Jaliek's case is that it's taken us so long to get here," said Miller.

But he said he hopes to make up for lost time with the resources he's bringing in. The drone plane may be flown in as early as this week.

Good Morning

I just felt I had to say that it puts a smile on my face to know that there are still good people out there. For people to come from Minnesota, Texas and Atlanta to help a little boy who is lost, that they have never met, is just amazing to me. I pray for those who a searching that they arrive safe and are able to bring Jaliek home safe.

I kind of think of us as Jaliek's Army. Because I know we won't quit till he is found.

My husband and I just got back from grocery shopping and you know this might sound really stupid, BUT: I found myself looking at the frozen pizza's, the hot pockets, ice cream and thinking to myself what would Jaliek like to have as an afternoon snack. I just got tears in my eyes. I have a grandson on the way and I just can't imagine why anyone would want to hurt such a precious child.

KERR DANG IT.............if you didn't want Jaliek anymore I would have been more than happy to take him off your hands and give him the love he so needed.

KERR DANG IT......... all you had to do was call his grandmother and she would have been right there to take him from you, but NO you still wanted the money from the state but not the child...you are so sad!!!

Hi Deb115 :seeya:

I don't have the answer to this question. Here's what I can tell you, they were receiving the money up until they moved to VT. How these special services are treated once someone moves OUT OF STATE I do not know. I still can't get over that they moved out of state or anywhere for that matter. Oh and no home phone number either so Jaliek couldn't even call if he wanted/needed to, if he's alive that is.

That doesn't sound stupid. I think about Jaliek while doing every day things and wonder how he would like to do this or that. Then I think how sad it is that he can't. Why are people so cruel? Money isn't more important than a childs life.

There's a bake sale being planned for May 1st, it will mark 6 months since Jaliek disappeared. I cannot believe it's been that long but Tim Miller is here, thank God! I am taking that day off to help with the bake sale. I will post more info as I have it.

I am 45 mins west of there, but I will surely do my best to come to the bake sale . I also will bake and donate items if I know where and when to get them where they need to be. I have followed this since day one. I cannot for the life of me understand the coldness of these people, his adopted parents(if you can call them parents at this point) I can't shake this either. It wakes me and makes me so sad.
I would love to help in any way I can.
It just the saddest story I have ever seen or read about. I feel so much for what his grandparents and previous foster families are going through right now. I have them all in my prayers. I lite a few candles and will continue to lite more as they go out.
God bless this precious little boy

I cannot for the life of me understand the coldness of these people, his adopted parents(if you can call them parents at this point) I can't shake this either. It wakes me and makes me so sad.
I would love to help in any way I can.
It just the saddest story I have ever seen or read about. I feel so much for what his grandparents and previous foster families are going through right now. I have them all in my prayers. I lite a few candles and will continue to lite more as they go out.
God bless this precious little boy [/*]

Hi Deb :seeya:

It would be great to see you at the bake sale. I wish I had more information now but I don't. Once I do I will let eveyone know. If you want to send baked goods I can find out how you could go about that.

Jaliek's grandparents and former foster parents are so strong. They appreciate eveyone supporting them here too! We'll keep the lights lit for Jaliek! :rose:

Jaliek Rainwalker Search Today

Last Update: 4:36 am

The search will continue today for a missing Washington County teenager.

A high-tech drone will fly over the county searching for any sign of missing 12-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker.
The remote-controlled mechanism and its operator are from Texas.

They are affiliated with Texas equusearch - the group that will begin looking for Rainwalker next week.

Cambridge-Greenwich police also tell us the drone will also be helping with the search for missing Latham man Joshua Szostak.

I think this is where things are going to heat up. I pray that TES can resolve both cases.

It looks like the bake sale will be at Jonathan's on North Pearl St in Albany on May 1st. I will confirm and let you all know once it's set in stone.

This was just on News 10 @ 6pm.

:cuss: I cannot believe that Kerrs father is/was playing golf today while they were searching. Then he said he did not know. They said the TES team told him two days ago. Is he as bad and hearltless as his son or does he just appear that way? Have Kerr or McDonald been involved in any searches yet? I just want to know,as I have not seen anywhere that they have?
Kim,I am not able to get on your blog from the links on here, can you give me the link ? Thanks,

Hi Deb,

I didn't see that! The answer to your questions is no, Kerr and McDonald have NOT participated in any organized searches. I'm not sure what they did early on, I'm sure they made a half hearted attempt hoping the public would buy their story and then forget all about it. That didn't happen, WE haven't forgotten about Jaliek and WE will bring him home. I can't wait until jtazzy reads about that, it's going to set her off too! This guy! I don't know much about Kerr's father other than he is a US diplomat to Romania and he put up the original reward money that decreased each month, now there is no reward from them. The Task Force has been raising money and I believe their reward is $5000. Playing golf?! Unbelievable! It was supposed to go up the day before but that's no excuse, when he found out it wasn't going up then you would think that he would have asked when. I'm so annoyed and that's putting it lightly. :flamemad:

I don't have any current information from the past day but will update as soon as I get back home later today. There aren't enough hours in the day. SO: Mr. KERR you playing golf is more important than helping to look for your son!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WELL OF COURSE YOU DO...

This is the man who has lied to police about where he was that night Jaliek disappeared (cell phone records proof where he was), then you move out of state (so how can your son find you if he even were to come home, don't search for him and when TES tells two days before about the search YOU SAY YOU DIDN'T KNOW.....OMG there are people that don't even know this precious child and we give a H%$$
Jaliek we love you and we haven't forgot you at all.

Please - I mean come on, are you serious??!! You had no idea what was happening? You have got to be kidding! I have never met Jaliek in my life, but me and everyone else (who also do not know him) know what is going on with this search. Please pick up a paper, listen to the news. But is that really necessary? Are you telling me that when you call the police station EVERYDAY checking for updates, no one there mentioned anything about the drone plane or TES? I mean you ARE calling there everyday for updates right? Right? Any person with a heart that is missing someone calls everyday for updates. Maybe it's because you are out there searching in the fields, by the water, maybe in Albany (where you claim he is) or EVERY where else he could possible be. Maybe that is why you don't know what is going on. YOU ARE JUST TOO BUSY SEARCHING! Well why don't you come here and we will tell you what is going on. I mean dang, we seem to know more than you do anyways.

I thank god for the people in my life everyday. I could not imagine having such cold and heartless people in my life.

Drone plane used in search for Jaliek

GREENWICH, N.Y. — The search for missing 12-year-old Jaliek Rainwalker continues this week.

Greenwich Police Chief George Bell tells us the drone plane found a large piece of metal on the bottom of the Battenkill, but nothing significant has turned up yet.

The plane is designed to pick up anything unusual in the area. It is able to fly close to riverbanks and in dense wooded areas that volunteers on foot can’t reach.

A high resolution camera is attached to the bottom of the plane, and the images are analyzed after the plane lands.

The metal found has no significance to the search.

There will be more searching going on this week with side-scan sonar from Minnesota.

Kim~
Thank you for the link to your blog,I have just spent some time reading it.
I have nothing but time, and maybe that is why Jaliek's story eats away at me so much.It breaks my heart a million times over, the very day I saw it on the news the first time I know his father :cuss: The heartless bas*ard, did SOMETHING to that beautiful precious little boy. I have time and yet I do not know what to do. I do however have a disability with my back so searching is not something I can do,but I would do ANYTHING,absolutely ANYTHING I could to help find Jaliek or any missing child. If anyone has any ideas point me in the right direction and I am on it.I feel so helpless day after day not being able to do anything.
These two people,I refuse to call them parents anymore, have not helped in the search makes me even more inclined to believe that they do not want nor ever wanted him or the best for him. In any of the interviews I have not seen either of them break down hysterically and cry.I would still be an emotional wreck almost 6 months later. But they are just getting on with the lives, moving to a new home?? How can you leave the one with memories of your child?? I can't even state the distaste I have for the two of them.
Ok I should stop my rant before I say too much, they are evil people and will get theres in the end, that is for sure.I believe in Karma and this boy deserved love,if they could not handle they should have given him back.Obviously there were people who cared. But they wanted the money,so it seems.Pls if anyone know of anything I can do to help, the littlest thing, let me know.I am more then willing with lots of time.
thanks all for listening,And God pls continue to Bless Jaliek and all of the people who do love him so. Jaliek there are many still loving and looking for you,Stay strong beautiful boy, stay strong.:rose:

Hi Deb :seeya:

There are a few things that you could do to help Jaliek. I struggle with this too because I would love to be out there searching for him but I have a full time job and kids at home. My blog was my way of helping, if even in a small way. What Jaliek needs, aside from being brought home, is exposure in any way possible. I have emailed news agencies time and time again in the hopes to get Jaliek's story on the National news. If you have some time you could come up with a form letter and send it on to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, AMW, etc. Now that TES is here I am hoping that they could take Jaliek's story to the next level (National news). Questions need to be answered, Jaliek needs to be found and justice needs to be served! You could also print up one of Jaliek's posters and hang it in your car window. I have one in my car and it gets Jaliek's face around town so people don't forget. It's too easy for the public to forget and Jaliek's story is one that concerns society as a whole. There are many issues that need to be addressed and I know it will all happen in time. First things first, find Jaliek!

I see you're in rural NY. If you're near Albany you can come to the bake sale that will be held on May 1st. It will be in front of Jonathan's on North Pearl St. from 11-4 I believe. I will come back here to post the official word on the bake sale.

I agree, the low down scum sucking :cuss: ,,,ok never mind you get the point.
He probably had it all planned, and he will pay they will get enough proof to convict him,I know it in my heart.

Hi jtazzy :seeya:

I hate to think about this but ...

That creepy place where Kerr works is in Salem, NY which is closer to Greenwich than Troy. I read somewhere, maybe on one of the topix forums, that some believe he could have used chemicals. My only guess on this would be to accelerate the decomposition process. Like I said, I don't like to think about it.

I'm right there with you Deb :cuss:

I don't know if that area has been searched or not. It's on 40+ acres and I would think that since he was an employee that he would have access to the property. I'm not sure if he's still working there, my guess is yes but who knows. I will see if I can find out more information. The possibilites of what he did to Jaliek are endless. I still hold on to the .01% chance that Jaliek is alive and was "handed over" to someone else.

The volunteers arrived from Ohio a day early, armed with more high tech equipment. They will use special Side Scan Sonar equipment as well as a Radio Operated Vehicle, which is a remote controlled mini sub, with a high resolution camera onboard.

On Sunday, volunteers will start their search of the Hudson River near Troy and Albany. Weather permitting; they'll search again on Monday.

Last week, EquuSearch used a small drone plane to search heavily wooded areas near the Battenkill, but didn't turn up any results.

The search continues for missing Greenwich boy Jaliek Rainwalker. Its been about six months since he was last seen.

Previously, volunteers searched the Hudson River and the focus was between the Green Island and Congress Street bridges. Sunday's search focused on the waters north of the Green Island Bridge. Volunteers from the national recovery group Texas Equusearch used sonar equipment to search the river. Rainwalker's adoptive grandfather Dennis Smith says Sunday's search turned up two targets. Targets he describes as, "Questionable objects at the bottom of the river." He says each object is between five to eight feet long. Smith says the objects could be anything from a tree trunk to a body. The images will be analyzed and sent to State Police for review.

Well I hope the divers can get in there asap. The family needs some closure, it has gone on far too long. And someone else needs to pay for what they have done. I totally belive in karma, and he will get his. I just only wish that I could give it to him.

I'm not sure if divers can go into the river when it's raining. It's going to rain all day and I think there's a threat of a thunderstorm. The rain alone might not keep them out but I guess it also depends on the current and how hard it's raining. You're right, the family needs to be able to put Jaliek to rest.

This continues to break my heart. Each day I pray they find something, then theres the part of me that prays they do not.I am still holding on to the tiniest bit of hope that he is out there somewhere, somewhere pls. I know it seems impossible,,but I am just hanging on to some hope. I know the family needs/deserves some closure. It just makes me so sad.

I agree with whomever said, whoever did this, will get his, their only wish is they could give it to them. I agree,I could easily give it to (him) also. But he would then not be behind bars for yrs I can say that. How can he live with himself day in and day out knowing this poor child is gone? Its sickening.

CAPITAL REGION -- The search party for Jaliek Rainwalker is taking the week off after finding two unusual images over the weekend.

The 12-year-old has been missing for nearly six months now.

The search for the Greenwich boy shifted downstream this weekend, with volunteers combing the Hudson from Troy to Albany.

Texas EquuSearch volunteers from Ohio brought in a side-scan sonar to search parts of the river that haven't been combed over yet.

Jaliek's former care taker Elaine Person -- who is part of the search -- said that two "unusual" images were picked up by the side-scan sonar during Sunday's search.

A copy of the sonar reading has been sent to Greenwich police, but Chief George Bell said he's not an expert so he has passed it along to State Police.

Police will then determine if they will send divers to check the bottom of the river based on those images.

One sonar reading was taken behind Jaliek's grandfather's place of business., near Troy behind Mooradians. The second sonar reading was taken right under the Hoosick Street Bridge.

No more searching is scheduled for this week. Friends and family are holding a bake sale Thursday on South Pearl Street to raise money for the search.

Hi jtazzy :seeya:

If this is Jaliek then Kerr has a lot of explaining to do.

As we approach the 6 month mark I am hoping that it is Jaliek. Barbara, Dennis, Elaine, Tom, Joy and everyone else who love Jaliek need closure.

Good day all~
Oh I have such mixed emotions after reading this today. I truly know they need/deserve closure. Those poor families have certainly suffered enough, more then enough. I just hate to give up my last one little bit of hope that Jaliek is out there somewhere.:(

But, again there does need to be closure, I hope/pray and wish if this is it.That, that rotten no good, waste of skin who has the gall to call himself a father, pays and pays dearly. I am not much fonder of Jalieks so called Mother lately either. How can she not be as heart broken as the many people who do not even personally know this child? How can she call herself a Mother and not be out there day and night searching, looking every inch of this world to find him? I know if this were my child I would never ever relax until I found my child,or had the answers as to where they were & how they got where they were. I just don't get it.

I may be wrong, pls correct me if I am.I have been follwoing this as much as I can online, internet, and the TV news. I have been, since Nov 2,07 when I heard of it. Has she done more then what I saw initially and am I judging her unfairly as I do not want to do that? Is she involved in the Bake sale tomorrow? I just have not seen it published if she has been doing anything.

I am sorry to have vented so much here today. The whole story saddens me,breaks my heart for this beautiful child. It brings me to tears on somedays. My daughter tells me to stop paying attention to it.How can someone just stop when its so horrific of a case? I think, sadly too many people stop thinking of Jaliek many times in his short life and thats why he is where he is now.I do not mean that to those who obviously cared deeply and honestly for him.

Thanks for listening to me. I guess I just had to get all this out. If I am wrong in anything I said, pls let me know.I want to have my facts right.I do not want to accuse anyone incorrectly.

Have a good night tonight all

Hi jtazzy :seeya:

It's been 6 months since Jaliek disappeared. I spent yesterday at a bake sale for Jaliek. The response was unbelievable! There are so many people who care about Jaliek. There was a range of emotion as well. People bought baked goods, donated, cried, and some had some choice words for Kerr. It's time for Jaliek to come home.

Hi Deb :seeya:

It's ok, we know that there were many people there for Jaliek in spirit. Did you see me on the news? LOL I saw myself on a couple of channels. I was wearing a blue shirt with a black vest. It was a very good day, the weather was beautiful, people were generous and the people who had negative things to say about Kerr were very passionate about it. Of all the people who walked by, only 1 person supported Stephen Kerr.

So many people asked when we would be back. The owner of the pizza place told us we could come back anytime and then he wanted to know when it would be. LOL People love their baked goods but they also love to show their support. Since it was so popular we're going to do another bake sale on June 12th.

Hi jtazzy :seeya:

Nothing new today. I spoke with Barbara on Thursday and she said it's a quiet week. The results of the scans were sent to the NY State police for further analysis. I guess it's up to them to decide if they should dive or not. It's frustrating but the search continues.

Pls if there is anyway/anything I can do I would love to bake, donate time anything to help for the next bake sale.If you can get me the details needed as to where the baked goods need to be and when,I can make it happen ok? I hope they decide to dive,I really do.I do not like that nothing is being done at all,Nothing drives me crazy. But I understand I guess.
So what did the one person have to say that could possibly be supportive of kerr,I would love to hear it,better yet would love to set him straight,he is obviously a very misguided person isn't he? But I would love to know what was said??

"Thank you so much for the wonderful Bake Sale last Thursday at Jonathan's Pizza. I deposited the money today at Trusco Bank ~ the teller was amazed and counted it twice for me. The love and efforts of all of you means the search goes on. Tomorrow I'll call Texas EquuSearch to see who is coming next to help search for Jaliek. The custody papers have been filed and served and we have a court date. Today there is a court date for the precursor Jocelyn & Stephen brought against the town of Greenwich and Chief Bell. Tomorrow Forest Rangers will have boats out in the Hudson and Battenkill rivers searching for Jaliek. NY State Police are reveiwing the sonor that John Sanders, a Texas EquuSearch sonar expert from Ohio, did when he was here last week. Much more is going on behind the scenes ~ six months of searching and not one sighting. We have to remember who was the last person with Jaliek and that he is not telling the truth.

Thank you all so very much for baking, selling and being an incredible help in finding Jaliek."

Hi Sasie50 :seeya:

Yes, their "house" was searched. When it was searched back in November LE was investigating a run away not a homicide. This "house" was on 23 acres. I do not believe it has been searched since.

Hi Mystery :seeya:

Yes, that's an area that I would want to search. If memory serves me right, LE asked to search the area again but was denied by Kerr, no warrent. They did move to VT but I'm not sure if they sold that property or not. It's 23 acres and I'm guessing that they didn't sell it. If they did I would assume the new owners could let the property be searched if they so desired. Yeah, I doubt they sold.

Does LE need a warrant if the house is in a realtors hands beause it is still for sale according to Nextag.com if you go there and type in the address it still shows for sale. I would think that if its for sale and not occupied its fair game especially if they think Jaliek may be there somewhere. I dont know about anyone else but as arrogant as kerr is I would think he would put the boy there thinking that there i have outsmarted everyone they will never look there. Maybe not but that just seems creepy enough that is how he would operate. And again this is JMO
I think that he wanted everyone focused on the ride to grandfathers house and the route and then the focus on the grandfathers house and i dont think its a stretch to include the wife in this dirty little deed after the interview i saw of her on tv she will do whatever it takes to cover her butt and her husbands.
These are just my opinions

There is a house for sale on Raven Way in Greenwich but I don't know if this was Kerr's house. He built a 2 room house which was supposed to be a studio but they were living there. The house that's for sale is a 3 bed room, 2 bath, etc and is on 10 acres, I thought Kerr had about 20+ acres. I will check into that. If this is his house that's for sale, maybe he built the studio somewhere on the property. When a house is for sale it still belongs to the owner unless it's a forclosure. I don't have any financial information on Kerr so I can't say if he still owns it or not. If he is still the owner then I don't think the real estate agent can give permisson for the property to be searched.

Kerr is arrogant and I wouldn't be surprised if he had Jaliek on that property at one point. Kerr is also no dummy, he wouldn't leave him there to be found. My theory is that he really thought he would fool everyone with his runaway story and that people would eventually forget about Jaliek's disappearance. Just as I typed that I realized something that I think I've been overlooking. The goodbye note that was found is believed to be a homework assignment given to Jaliek by Kerr. All along I have been thinking/feeling that Kerr snapped that night and whatever transpired was not intentional. But if the note was an assignment then perhaps there was more thought put into it. I hate to think that Kerr had a plan all along. I guess it could go two ways, the way I just described or it was simply an homework assignment and what happened to Jaliek was an accident. That is assuming that Jaliek met with foul play. I have more than one theory.

I think you're right, Kerr wanted the focus to be on his fathers house. Cell phone records show that he didn't take the route that he claims he did. With that being said, why would we believe the rest of his story?

All IMO, JMO, MOO :D

There are three planned search dates for Jaliek Rainwalker and volunteers are needed. The first will be at Merck Forest & Farmland Center in Rupert, VT (9 miles NE of Salem, NY, or approx. 60 miles from Albany, NY). These searches are organized grid searches, on foot. A grid search consists of 6-12 people crews that search a designated area. Each crew is debriefed and has a crew boss. The dates scheduled so far are: May 31st, June 7th and June 21st (all Saturdays).

It’s important to know that these searches are intense and last all day. If you enjoy to be outside, hike, volunteer and have a big heart, then please visit the Task Force website or call 1-877-4JALIEK (1-877-452-5435) to sign up.

I just saw on the news that the Greenwich police are not actively searhing anymore unless they get some credible leads. I am not sure what the feeling is that I am feeling.I certainly can understand they have exhausted every resource, but I have such a feeling of emptiness. I also have a feeling of such anger at WHOEVER is responsible for this,I can picture them/him/her sitting and smiling thinking they have gotten away with it. I just hope they know that in the end they will get theirs. I do believe deep down somewhere Jaliek will be found some day, some where, and the truth will come out as to how he got there. He will NOT BE FORGOTTEN! As it appears he has been by his so called adopted parents.

Police Captain(?) Bell states he has not been in touch with either of Jalieks parents since sometime in Feb,How can they be so heartless and cold.It seems to me they must know where Jaleik is and be very comfortable with it, if they do not care to look any futher. How can they call themselves parents? I can only hope they do NOT have any more children trusted to them in their care.

My heart goes out for Jalieks grandmother,Barbara, and all those who truly do love him and care for him. I will pray for them to have strength to get thru this.

Ok my rant for today this morning is over, maybe

Praying for Jaliek, thru my tears today, always,:rose:

What channel did you see that on? I've been searching for any news I can find and haven't found anything new. If memory serves me right, the Greenwich Police haven't been actively searching for a while now. They will follow any leads and have assisted in other searches. It's so sad, I can't stand it.

Well the custody hearing has been postponed according to new 10 at noon. According to news 10 the case is unpresendented because there was no one to speak on behalf of the child and the judge said he did not have enough information to continue today. What a crock. how long has this judge had this case in front of him and who the HE@@ did he think was going to speak on behalf of this child DCS who put him in the horiable situation he was in or kerr who seems to have washed his hands of it all and thinks moving out of state means you just move on.
This really discusts me. Nobody can make a decision about this child but they sure could make decisions about him when they let kerr adopt him. Oh yea and lets not forget about wanting to unadopt him. Sorry for the rant but this child and his grandma have had it tough enough. My heart goes out to Jaliek and his grandparents. :rose:

Barbara commented on my blog. The forrest rangers did a search yesterday. Also one of the areas of interest in the river was looked into, it turned out to be a piece of metal. At least it was checked on and it can be ruled out. On the custody hearing, they need to find cases where custody of a missing child was awarded to someone while the child was missing. If anyone out there has any information please leave a link here.

Search for Missing Boy Continues in Merck National Forest
http://www.wcax.com/Global/story.asp?S=8410024&nav=4QcS

This weekend, a group of nearly two dozen volunteers searched the Merck National Forest in Rupert. Rainwalker's family frequently camped and hiked there.

The search turned up no new clues. Two more searches of the area are planned for this month.

Two more searches are scheduled June 7 and 21, and volunteer leaders say they plan to resume where this weekend’s search left off.

Rainwalker Search Turns to Voice Analysis

Two internationally known investigators say they've analyzed the voice of Jaliek Rainwalker's adoptive father and don't believe he's telling the truth about the boy's disappearance.

"A group searching for missing Washington County boy Jaliek Rainwalker says his adoptive father, Stephen Kerr, is not telling the whole truth. The 12-year-old disappeared last November from his Greenwich home. Shortly after that, Kerr, a man police call a person of interest in the case, gave a 28 minute interview to NEWS10's Anya Tucker.

The group, Texas EquuSearch, brought in two leading voice analysis experts to determine the truthfulness and/or evasiveness of the statements made by Kerr and his wife, Jocelyn McDonald, in that interview.

Now they want police to name Kerr, the last person to see Jaliek, a suspect in the case. NEWS10's Anya Tucker Reports."

GREENWICH -- The Find Jaliek Task Force will hold four events this weekend to help pay the costs to search for Jaliek Rainwalker.

The 12-year-old boy disappeared Nov. 1 after his father, Stephen Kerr, picked him up from a respite home in Altamont. Police have described Kerr as a ``person of interest'' but he has not been charged with a crime.

Jaliek will not be forgotten.

I have been so so sad and so so angry lately over this.I am trying not to be,but we all know that there is at least ONE person who knows what happen and all it would take is for at least this ONE person to just tell someone where or what happen and the answers would be known to all.It is so unfair and so sad for the many that love and miss and deserve to know where this precious child is, this child, who has been let down by how many people now? Possibly betrayed by someone who promised to love and protect him? I am sorry for my anger, but its just so wrong on many levels,I feel like he is being forgotten about and this person is going on with their life and its so unfair it makes me so angry.Sorry I just had to get it out.Jaliek will never be forgotten,I can't believe there is such a cold SOB out there living and carrying on with their life.Someone who knows them, has got to have noticed a change in them, you do not make an innocent child disappear and not change the way you act.Someone needs to speak up,or they are just as guilty in my book.Their day will come one day. They will pay.

Hello all~
I have been absent for a bit from this board, but do not think for one sec my absence means I do not have this beautiful boy in my thoughts everyday. I have been having computer issues. I think most and hopefully all have been straightened out.Except one,it seems I may have lost 5 yrs of pictures I transfered from my laptop to desktop. If they cannot be found,I am going to be heart broken,to say the least.
Ok enough of that.
What is the latest? Jaliek it seems, has fallen out of the eyes of all the news channels and it makes me very sad/angry. Is there any thing new? I feel so helpless once again and wish there was more I could do. :( Feel bad to have missed this past bake sale again.
Kim,I am finally going to meet, that Sweet Kalley tonight, she is coming up here, yea.I am very excited.
So anyone pls if theres anything I missed pls bring me up to date,I will go light a candle if I can get on that site,I am still finding where I can and can't get on.Its very frustrating.
Have a great weekend all!!!
Praying for Jaliek always,:rose:

What I don't understand is why Kerr and McDonald are opposing this. Its understood from earlier articles that they intended to un-adopt Jaliek.

Hi Cheri :seeya:

Here's my best guess. They are opposing this because it means that if Barbara gets custody she will have access to medical records, school records, anything that pertains to Jaliek and his care. It's about protecting themselves, it's not about Jaliek.

Thanks for the links Cheri. I hope that the fleece jacket provides some evidence and that the felony charge is reduced to a misdemeanor or, better still, that the DA refuses to prosecute at all.

I cannot believe that a daughter (even an estranged one) would have her mother arrested. Then again, look at what kind of people they are. IMO, Barbara did what any loving grandparent would do.

I agree Leanne. Even though what Barbara did was wrong in the eyes of the law, I think she did the right thing. If she hadn't who knows when LE would have got a search warrant for that house.

Thank you so much. I wonder why that wasnt picked up on before, when the police searched the house. Oh, I hope and pray this will give them some clues to Jalieks whereabouts.

They have had one search warrant already, right ? WEre they only allowed to take the computer and related items or could they search for and take anything that might be evidence ?

I don't believe a search warrant was ever executed for that house which is on Ravens Way in East Greenwhich.

I think what you are remembering is the search of the house on Hill St.

If the house at Raven's Way has not been searched prior to Barbara going there, I think LE have dropped the ball totally on this case. I wonder if, as a result of finding the fleece jacket, they will be able to secure another SW to enable them to conduct a forensic investigation.?

I wouldn't be surprised, however, if the POS adoptive parents have already been back and cleaned up and destroyed anything that might remotely be related to Jaliek's disappearance though. Sad!!!

HI,
First time poster on this thread. Read articles on the find Jaliek website. Trying to catch up on what has or has not been happening in his case.

I read with particular interest the respite familys last days with Jaliek before his return to the adoptive family. I also read the living conditions he lived in

I see a child who has many of the issues associated with the life he led. I read the difference the visit to the Altamont NY home made. It really called to my attention the plight of children like Jaliek and I started to cry not knowing what happened to him.

The adoptive father....not comfortable with him.
Hoping you all can offer what has been going on with this case since last year and help me not to read 700 posts.

I don't feel good about this at all. Somehow I feel if he ran away, he may have gone to Altamont back to the respite family or he would have been seen.

Praying for a miracle but.... Hey, we've seen them

Have there been any clues found? I see there is a description of clothes he was wearing - but wouldn't he have been in pajamas?

Good morning and happy Sunday to all

Good morining Leanne, I see your statement that a yellow fleece jacket was found and it (may?) be one Jaliek was alleged to be wearing. Forgive my newness to this case but where was it found and has it been tested for any DNA to identify it as belonging to Jaliek?

I have another question, again, forgive my new-ness... How would social services ( or anyone checking on adopted children) allow them to live in the out-house house.

I also read that an older child went to a 17K a year private school
and the adopted dad was going on a 2 week trip abroad. this contrasts with living conditions in that house.

Can anyone supply a link or reiterate more about this adopted family?

Did the respite family ever show interest in having Jaliek live with them on a permanent basis?

Did the respite family ever show interest in having Jaliek live with them on a permanent basis? I am not up on this case like some are but I thought the respite family had had him for a while earlier.

this is a very sad case. I do believe Jaliek is dead and I think the stepfather is cupable in some way. But, it may never be proven.

eta In this country, you can just refuse to talk to police and you wont be charged. On the other hand, sometimes if you cooperate, they go after you with a vengence, rightfully or wrongfully.

Hi Justin's mom. I'm not that clued up on all the details of this case but I believe the POS adoptive father said Jaliek was wearing a yellow fleece jacket when he "ran away". It has been removed by LE and I'm sure they will be conducting forensic tests on it but are probably awaiting results.

As for your other ?s, unfortunately I don't have the answers and anything I do say would be speculation.

Hi Justin's Mom,

I might be able to answer some of your questions. The jacket was found in the house where Jaliek lived with his adoptive parents. This property was searched in the beginning stages of the investigation but at the time they were looking for a run away. I do not know if the actual house was searched because this is not where he supposedly ran away from. He was brought to Stephen Kerr's father's house the night he disappeared. Also, once the investigation shifted from a run away to a missing child case, Kerr would not allow any property of his to be searched. LE was unable to obtain a search warrant until recently.

On socail services, Jaliek was already adopted by Kerr and McDonald. I don't know why social services doesn't follow up on adopted children especially one's who are still receiving state funds for therapy. Kerr and McDonald received $1500/mo for Jaliek and collected even after he went missing.

The other child, not adopted, did (and maybe still does) go to a private school. Stephen Kerr's father was a US Diplomat to Romania and I'm sure that's where that connection comes in.

The respite family only had Jaliek for the one week before he went missing. I can tell you that they would have taken him as their own at any time but didn't have that opportunity. Kerr and McDonald were looking into giving Jaliek back to the system, unadopt him if you will. Had they communicated that to the respite family we probably wouldn't be here trying to find Jaliek.

For more information on Jaliek and his adoptive family you can go to www.findjaliek.org.

Hope that helps.

Whats really sad is how the media outlets determine what is newsworthy. I am posting all the time on the Caylee site... Take a look at how many posts there are. More than the entire Missing childrens thread, no matter who is posting. Caylee's case focuses around her and the wacky bunch of dysfunction called her family.

Jaliek also has quite an interesting background and really deserves more attention. If everyone can take a look on line at an Albany area map and start posting news outlet info, that would be great. A group of us last year did this for Amanda Jones, a 28 year old missing mom from Missouri and only got form letters , but no interest.

I coudln't agree more. Jaliek's story has not gotten an national air time. AMW was going to do something on him but I'm not sure if it ever aired. This is becoming a serious problem for the United States, more time should be devoted to missing persons, especially the children.

The sighting in Altamont happened a couple of weeks ago. I actually had the mother of the boy comment on my blog about it. I haven't seen the video yet but I'm thinking that it's the same boy being spotted in various locations.

Within 10 minutes of viewing the image on the screen, Barbara Reeley was convinced it wasn't her missing grandson Jaliek Rainwalker.
And after carefully studying the 10-second video surveillance footage taken at Colonie Center's Regal Cinemas on July 22, Cambridge-Greenwich Police Chief George Bell had his doubts, too.

http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=711743

GLENS FALLS, N.Y. -- We've all seen this boy's picture numerous times within the past nine and a half months and now police are trying to figure out if this boy seen in surveillance video taken from Colonie Center is Jaliek Rainwalker. Police, however, aren't convinced it's him.

"Looking at it myself I'd say no. The overall appearance of him. Yes, it's been nine months and yes, I've never seen Jaliek personally but I've seen photographs and the features aren't there," said Greenwich Police Chief George Bell.

I would love it if they found him alive but I dont think they will ever find him. [/*]

Don't you find it amazing that people can be hidden so damn well that they just don't get found?

Still nothing. All I have to report is that the Washington County Fair is this week in Greenwich. There's a booth set up for Jaliek and Barbara has been handing out posters, talking to people and has a sign up list for future searches.

Bless her heart. My prayers go out to Barbara. I haven't been on much lately but wanted to come check on our boy. Huskiki, just know all is in my prayers.

Hi everyone,

There isn't any news on Jaliek's case but I did go on a search today. The searches haven't stopped, nor will they until Jaliek is found.

Hi everyone,

As you may or may not know, I have been emailing the national media on Jaliek's case. Up until now I haven't seen any results. Today I was googling for info on Jaliek and happened upon the letter that I wrote! It's on CNN's ireport story page http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-58667

I am asking for anyone who is able to email CNN at ireport@cnn.com and ask them to give Jaliek's story the attention it deserves. We're approaching the one year mark in two short months.

"We're working on putting together Jaliek’s Law, which would, hopefully, get the support of the legislature and get it passes where it would improve on post adoption services, have stricter post adoption services," said Rev. Tim Sherman.

Thank You Cheri! I was just here to post the same article. I attended the community fourm last night, it was rather informative. It's sad to think that some people use the system to profit from it. Thankfully, that's a very small percentage.

Hi guys, I haven't been able to find Jaliek's thread. Then I thought to look up my posts and I found it that way. I hope it re-appears on the Amber Alerts & Missing Person page now.

Jaliek is still missing, one year tomorrow. For anyone in the area:

Saturday November 1, 2008 will mark the one-year anniversary of the last time Jaliek “Jay” Rainwalker the then 12-year-old child who disappeared from 11 Hill Street in Greenwich, NY was seen.

In addition to the Vigil Jaliek’s grandparents Barbara Reeley and Dennis Smith will be holding where a car brigade will begin at 8pm from Latham Farms to Mowry Park in Greenwich with a candle light vigil from 9pm to 12am.

Fresh Anointing Ministries will also be holding a candle light walk for Jaliek in Albany for those who would like to be a part of our remembrance of Jaliek but cannot make to Greenwich.

We will gather between 6 and 6:30 on the east side of the capital we will then proceed up Washington Avenue to Swan over to State Street entering the Empire State Plaza to Madison Avenue and ending at the NYS Missing Persons Monument next to the NYS Museum where we will pause for a candle light prayer vigil for Jaliek. We ask those that are unable to make the walk with us to go directly to the Monument on the corner of Madison Avenue and Swan Street.

**********AND**********

There will be a vigil from 9:00 p.m. until midnight at Mowry Park in Greenwich, NY. The vigil will be to mark the one year disappearance of Jaliek. We are planning a respectful and peaceful vigil. Please bring lawn chairs and dress warmly.

Justice and Love for Jaliek!

Me too n/t. I've kept checking Jaliek's thread and praying there would be some new developments. Why won't NG or Greta, who have been asked in the past, give a couple of minutes to his case? There is a similarity to Caylee's case -- the parent being the last to see the child and the odd behavior of the adults involved.

I am far away and always remember this darling child too Annie. Shame, God must be so sick and tired of all my pleas for the missing. I know the list just keeps growing - so damn sad. :rose:
