Aaahhhhh, creepy! I just read this article. My husband is searching the retention (we work together) pond next to the airport now. You never know!! Sounds like he is trying to make it sound like she left on an Airplane?? The planes that go out of here are very small though, no commercial lines, as the runway is much to small. I'm still hoping she just left to get a mental break, but I don't know??

Sunday, October 28, 2007:
-9-10am: Stacy is exchanging text messages with Bruce Zidarich, the BF of her sister Cassandra Cales.
-They were making tentative plans to paint a house the family rented for Stacy/Cassandra's brother Yelton (who has been sent back to jail). To get out of the lease, they needed to repaint the walls white. They had previously painted them in a vibrant palette.
Bruce calls her cell around 10, and according to Bruce, it went something like: Stacy: I'm lying in bed but awake, let me know when Cassandra wakes up.

Stacey did not answer any calls or text messages from her Family thoughout Sunday..

Family started to worry, having been told that Drew was watching Stacy and tracking her movements, checking up on her. He would circle the parking lot at Joliet Junior College to make sure she was in class (pre-nursing, 1 course this semester); he would circle the parking lot if Cassandra and Stacy were in a restaurant to be sure no male was meeting them.
*neighbors have gone on record saying the same, that Stacy feared Drew and wanted to divorce.

Cassandra went to the Downers Grove PD to report Stacy missing, she was directed to go to Bolingbrook PD. When she went to BPD, she was directed to take a drive past the home to see what cars were there, and to report Stacy missing to IL State Police.

Drew claims Stacy called him at 9pm to let him know she had left him, and to let him know he could find her car at the airport. (Clow Airport, a small private airstrip near their home).

Cassandra said the cars were not there at the Peterson home at 9pm.

At 11pm, she stopped at the house on the premise of turning in fundraiser money. The door was answered by Stacys (step)son and he told her "Mom and Dad had a fight this morning" and "he is out looking for her".

Cassandra called Drew at 11:26PM and she could hear car keys. He asked "Where is your sister?"

She then went to IL State Police.

Wednesday, October 31st

Speculation begins about Drew's 3rd wife, Kathleen Savio, who drowned in her bathtub March 1, 2004 just a month before the couple's property settlement court date. State's Attorney Glasgow will reopen an investigation.
-LE was called approximately 20 times during Kathleen's and Drew's marriage for domestic disputes.

-Soon after Peterson's divorce from Savio and his marriage to the teenage Stacy Cales, Savio was found dead in the bathtub of the Pheasant Chase Drive home she had kicked her ex-husband out of.
He was returning their two sons from a weekend visitation when no one would answer the locked door.

Peterson, who lived down the street from Savio with his new wife Stacy, sought help from a neighbor, who called a locksmith. The neighbor then went inside and found Savio's body in a waterless bathtub.

The investigation revealed Savio drowned. While there was no water in the bathtub, it may have drained out over time, investigators speculated.

A coroner's jury ruled the death accidental. The state police investigation yielded no criminal charges.

-Peterson was indicted by a grand jury and fired from his job with the Bolingbrook department after allegations arose that he was trading secrets about his undercover narcotics unit to a drug dealer in exchange for drugs.he tells the story, it was the case of a prosecutor having it in for him.

It is reported that cadaver dogs get a “hit” in the upstairs bedroom and at the pond.

Divers from Naperville and Plainfield rake the bottom of a 2-acre pond on airport property.

Divers continue the search of the retention pond, aided by a cadaver dog.

They investigate his ultra-light aircraft stored in a hangar at Clow Airport.

Drew leaves the home on his motorcycle at about 11am. The children are reported to be staying with his 26 yr old son and his wife.

Ric Mims, friend of Drew says he stands by his friend, that he could not harm his wife.

Prosecutors said they reviewed photographs of the crime scene and autopsy, the autopsy protocol, and police reports.

I figured I should probably take a few hours and get this done. There have been a bunch of people I think getting confused, so I figured kind of illustrating who is who might help. So, with the help of a few others on this board, I put together this list. It obviously isn't everything, so please feel free to add!

Stacy Ann Peterson:Mother of 4. Reported missing on Sunday October 28th,2007 from Bolingbrook Illinois the day before she was set to meet with her divorce lawyer. She was last seen leaving the house in some sort of jogging type suit, and was supposed to be heading over to a relatives home to help paint. She was last heard from at Sunday morning, and last seen by her husband. She was reported missing at 4am on October 29th by family members(not her husband).

Sgt. Drew Peterson: Stacy Petersons 53year old husband and a Sergeant at the Bolingbrook police department. The two began dating when Stacy was 17, and Drew was 47(and then married). He has been married 4 times, and has denied involvement in Stacy going missing. He has a history of reported abusive behavior. Drew claims his wife had left him and that she called him at 9pm Sunday night saying she was leaving him, however, cops cannot confirm that. He has officially been named a suspect.

Kathleen Savio: Sgt. Petersons third wife, who was found dead in a bathtub in 2004. Officials ruled the death as undetermined, however, in light of Stacy being reported missing, prosecutors have requested her body be exhumed. The autopsy report concluded she died from blunt force trauma, however, investigators called it an accident and no one was ever charged. She had a laceration in the back of her head, and her hair was "soaked with blood" at the time of her death. Kathleen and Drew had been married for 10 years,and began divorce filings in 2002. This past week, it was confirmed that Kathleens body will be exhumed for an investigation into her actual cause of death.

Linda Cales: Stacy Petersons stepmother. She says she last saw her stepdaughter 5 years ago, but remains in contact with her. She divorced Stacys father in 2002. Linda Cales has came forward and been quoted saying "She(Stacy) was often blinded by the security of being with an older man", "the abuse was there","I was taking care of her, and she looked at me as if I was mom", "I know Stacy. I was her stepmom, and I know she would not have left her kids".

Anthony Cales: Stacy Petersons father. He and Linda married in the mid 1990's, and divorced in 2002. He has said "I believe foul play is involved, I do. After four days, and we've been looking four days, I absolutely do".

Cassandra Cales: Stacy Petersons sister. Stacy was heading to meet Cassandra and her boyfriend on the day she went missing.
Cassandra has said "something has happened to her", "I am prepared for the worst, but I hope for the best. I just want to bring her home", "I just want to find her, bring her home, and bring whoever did this to justice", "She told me last Friday she feared for her life". She called Drew on the night Stacy went missing, and said she was certain Drew was lying when he told her he was at home, and she then went to police.

Sharon Bychowski: Stacy and Drew Petersons neighbor. She claims Stacy and her had many conversations regarding Stacys plans to divorce Drew, and that Stacy told her "If I disappear, it is not an accident, he killed me". Sharon has used her driveway of her home to set up a search table for Stacy, and says she is "committed to bringing her back home"

Christie Toutges: Stacy Petersons biological mother, who went missing 9 years ago from Blue Island and last seen clutching a Bible and going to church. She is a mother of 6. Family members have insisted that Stacy "does not have her mothers history of vanishing".

Tina Cales: Stacys sister, who passed away at the age of 29 last year from colon cancer. Drew Peterson has insisted that ever since her death, Stacy has not been the same.

Kerry and Matthew Simmons: Kerry is Stacy Petersons step sister. She and her husband have said "this is what I've been waiting to see happen", "She would never leave this house without an excuse", "the one thing I worry about is once a cop, always a cop. Do your job(referring to Drew), that's all we're asking".

Anna Marie Doman: Sister of Kathleen Savio(Petersons third wife). She has said "they never looked at my sisters case close enough", "I never got a call back from police. It was like they couldn't be bothered", "if he did it, fine, if he didn't do it, fine, I just want them to get to the bottom of the truth".

Sgt. Louis Gutierrez: Illinois State Police Master. He has said "we are hoping to find her alive and well, we're receiving a lot of tips, and we're following up on the information that the public has provided us."

James Glasgow: Will County State Attorney, who has been reading through the recent developments and fighting to get Kathleen Savios body exhumed.

Charles Pelkie: Will County State Attorneys office spokesman. He first announced that police had search warrants for Drew and Stacy Petersons home, and has been actively involved in the media since.

Ken Teppel: Bolingbrook Police Department spokesman. He has said that the Illinois State Police Department are handling the investigation because an officers family is involved.

Roy Taylor: Search leader who has said "I'm kind of in awe. Like I said yesterday, I'm blown away by the fact that he hasn't shown up or tried to help. Even if she did leave him, he has to clear his image right now and he's done nothing to do that." (regarding Drew Peterson not helping teams to search for Stacy)

Steve Cesare: Family friend whom Stacy often emailed. He kept in close contact with Stacy, and dated her sister Tina at one time. He says Stacy emailed him saying "I have been arguing quite a bit with my husband", "As I mature with age I am finding that the relationship I am in is controlling, manipulative and somewhat abusive," "Tomorrow is our four-year anniversary and I'm not as excited as the years that have passed". Steve said these emails concerned him, but he was in disbelief that his friend had gone missing. He last saw her two months ago when she surprised him at work.

Rick Mims: Drew Petersons friend of whom he has continued to standby. He has said he knows that there has been no foul play, and has been quoted saying ""I want to say that one more time. I know in my heart there's no foul play. I stand by my friend." He is said to be helping Peterson watch their two sons, ages 2 and 4.

Marc Dorencz: Illinois Police trooper who has said that Drew Peterson has been cooperative, and that they are still considering this a missing persons case.

ML: You think there are no mysterious circumstances surrounding her death? You don't understand why the police are doing this?

DP: I understand exactly why uh but uh [looking down] but I have no opinion [looks up] on uh [shakes head]...

ML: You think it's a wasted effort? They are not going to find anything?

DP: I don't know. If there was anything that happened to her it should be found out but---

ML: You flew here from Chicago last night accompanied by one of our producers who told me there is quite a scene outside your home right now.

DP: Correct.

ML: There's an enormous media presence there.

DP: For the last two weeks.

ML: Right Give me an example or just tell me a little bit about what your life has been like for you and your two young children. You've got a two-year old and a four-year old, Lacy and Anthony.

DP:Right and I have two teenaged boys also, 13 and 13. I think this is weighing a little harder on them than the two young ones. The two young ones we can play with and they pretty much accept their circumstances. But the older boys, it's harder on them. We basically have to sneak them in and out of the house in the morning to go to school. Or out to see friends or to engage in their normal school activities. So it's been very hard on them.

[No mention of the fact that these boys' mother's body was exhumed this week to see if she was murdered.]

ML: You say you can play with them, the 2 and 4 year old but what have you told them about their mom's disappearance? What do they know? How have you explained why mom isn't home?

DP: Basically, Mom's gone on a vacation and uh everytime something comes on the television we go ahead and just kinda shuffle them out of the room [KB: the remote is missing, too?] or we go to another room to watch the story.

ML: When S went missing on Oct 28, police questioned you, they came to your house, there was a SW, they've come twice btw. You were initially labeled as a person of interest and you are a police officer, were a police officer, you know all about these labels, you know what this means.

DP: Sure.

ML: Since that time though with further investigation they have decided that you are a suspect in this case. Why do you think in your opinion they have changed their characterization of you?

DP: I think they have always considered me a suspect. The husband always did it. And I think it's just a title to basically progress their case. They're trying to progress their case.

ML: So you think the only reason you are considered a suspect right now is because the husband is always considered a suspect?

DP: Pretty much and I believe I was a suspect from the beginning when they first started talking to me.

ML: Let me go over a few things that have raised some eyebrows S went missing as I said on O 28 . According to reports, she had asked you for a divorce 2 days earlier. S wrote an email to a firend on O 17, so we're talking a little more than a week prior to her disappearance and this is what it said, quote, As I mature with age I am finding that the relationship I am in is controlling, manipulative and somewhat abusive...If you could keep me in your prayers I could use some wisdom, protection and strength. What do you think she meant by that?

DP: I don't think that's her words That doesn't sound like a thing she would say. And that vocabulary is certainly out of line for her So I think this was fabricated as a lot of things have been throughout this case and uh this is a made-up-- made-up email.

M: Stacy's stepsister Kerry Simmons--

DP: Okay.

ML: was on this program and let me play you a portion of what she said to Meridith earlier.

ML: Okay.

KS (on tape): It was the end of pretty much every conversation when we were together or spoke on the phone with both of us that um yknow one day if she never answered her phone or if we couldn't get a hold of her we would need to look for her that's something happened,

ML: That we would need to look for her. That something happened. Why do you think Stacy was concerned that something was going to happen to her and that they would need to look for her?

DP: I don't know. I don't know.

ML Well then describe the relationship. What was your relationship like with S?

DP: Our entire relationship was uh in the beginning it was very romantic and after her sister passed away with cancer she took a serious uh downslide [shaking head] of her emotions uh-- She lost her faith uh she was very religious before this time and uh ever since her sister died we actually had her to a psychiatrist and she was on medication, mood medication and every day thereafter, after her sister passed away was basically an emotional roller coaster. Every day---

ML: Emotional for S or emotional between the 2 of you?
Would you describe your relationship as volatile? Was it ever violent?

DP: I don't believe it was ever violent uh---

ML: You either know it was violent or not violent.

DP: There were a few incidences where like Stace and I would have verbal confrontations and I would be in her face and she hated being cornered and one time she hit me in the head with a frozen steak and okay---

DP: Never. Never.

ML: Never raised a hand to her?

DP: Never raised a hand to her There was an incident where we tried throwing her in a swimming pool at a party but that was all in jest and she came up swinging and she was very angry at that happenening but we were playing

ML: Youhave said on occasion that S came to you and said she was seeing someone else, that there was another man and is it fair to say that you believe that S is right now with that other man

DP: She never told me she was seeing another man. She uh uh well, maybe she did.



DP: ...but I believe she is with somebody else right now.
ML: Let me just go back to that. Did she or did she not say to you, "I'm seeing someone else, Drew"?

DP: It wasn't put like that. She found somebody else. That was her exact words.

ML: And you believe that she is now not dead, that she has actually run off with another man

DP: I believe that, yes.

ML: You've described her as although she had emotional issues, as you said, she was a good mom

DP: A great mom

ML: So how does a good mom of a 2 and 4 yrd old go off with another man and never call the kids to see how they are doing or tell the kids that she's okay?

DP: I don't know. I can't answer that.

ML: No explanation for that?

DP: I don't have an explanation for that.

ML: Are you cooperating with the police? There have been conflicting reports. The police, from what I understand, say you are not offering much and you've said that you are cooperating. What's the truth?

DP: I sat down the first night they interviewed me, the day after she was missing, that evening they were over at my house [KB: "MY house"] and I gave them a full account of the story. [KB: the STORY.] uh what took place. I hired some attorneys and the attorneys said don't talk. No more.

ML: Have you-- we've seen images of people out in the area where you live searching for S. Have you ever taken part in the search for S?

DP: Well, there's two things One thing, it's like I'm such a media sensation right now if I go out and search I think the search would be hampered by #1, all the media attn I'd be getting and 2, why would I look for somebody who I don't believe is [shakes head] missing? She's just gone. She's where she wants to be

ML: Another reason there is so much attn being paid to you, Mr Peterson, is bec. of the circumstances surrounding the death of yr 3rd wife, Kathie Savio. She drowned in her bathtub,a ccording to the report at the time, an accidental drowning in 2004. However at the time there was no water in the bathtub, her hair was matted with blood and apparently there was a 1-in gash on the back of her head. Now sate officials are saying that it looks like an accident stages to cover a murder What was your impressiona t the time she died? Did you think it was an accident?

DP: I was one of the first people there. and uh I was actually watch commander of our town at the time that it happened and when I had met with her best friend because I haven't seen her for a couple of days which was very unlike her to not be seen or heard from so I was planning the next day to go into her home yknow with her neighbor and uh see if she was okay but her neighbor was upset and her best friend was upset, the same person, and uh she wanted to go in that night so we called a locksmith, went into the house-- I didn't go into the house, I waited outside, her friend--

ML: Why didn't you go into the house?

DP:Kathie was always accusing me of things, like she didn't want me in the house ever because she was afraid I was going to steal something

ML: But you're a police officer, the watch commander--

DP: Right, right. Exactly.

ML: and it's your job to investigate crimes if they've been committed

DP: [shaking head] That was Kathie.

ML: You just wouldn't go in the house,

DP: So when I heard screaming, I went inside and she was---

ML: What did you see?

DP: ---dead in the bathtub.

ML: And did it look like an accidental drowning to you at that time?

DP: I didn't know if she was dead or alive so I felt her pulse and being a policeman I basically didn't want to touch anything or disturb anything.

ML: True or false you ended up with a million dollar pay out from an insurance policy you had on her?

DP: My children did. And that money is in a protected acct for them when they turn older.

ML: You're a police officer. You've probably said this to people you've investigated over the years. Can you look me straight in the eye and tell me you had nothing to do with the death of your third wife Kathie or the disappearance of your fourth wife Stacy

DP: I can look right in your eye and say that I had nothing to do with either of those incidences.

ML: You seem extraordinarily calm and I guess if I were under the pressure and the scrutiny that you are under right now, possible indictment as early as today or tomorrow==

DP: Sure.

ML: I think I'd be a little more, I dunno, rattled.

DP: Basically, I am not afraid of LE. I'm afraid of the media and I 've been hounded by the media and the media is what's causing my aggravation or me being upset with life and living today.

ML: It's reported that Stacy asked for a divorce just 2 days before she disappeared and you combine that with the fact that Kathie died while your divorce settlement was still being negotiated. Do you see why people see a rather alarming coincidence here?

DP: Sure. However Stacy I'm not trying to be funny here but Stacy would ask me for a divorce uh after her sister died on a regular basis I;m not trying to be funny and it was based on her menstrual cycle

ML: So when S asked you for a divorce on Oct 26 it didn't anger you. you weren't upset by it?

DP: It was like any other moment that she had that whe was unhappy with something she would want a divorce.

ML: So when people look at you and say here's a guy who's been a cop for 30yrs he knows police work, he knows weapons, he probably knows how other criminals [KB: oops, Matt!! "other criminals"???] have gone about covering their tracks, he's the perfect guy to commit a crime-- How do you respond to that?

DP: How can I? What can you say?um [shakes head] I can't even respond to that.

ML: As someone who does know the system, who knows what it takes to piece together a case, to bring together the evidence, how does it feel to have the weight of that system now turned and focused on you?

DP: It's very frightening. Very frightening.

ML: What are you most firghtened of?

DP: Basically, my legal defense [KB: Because you are indefensible?] uh talking to lawyers Monday night it could cost as much as a quarter million dollars to defend one of these cases so basically [turns and looks into the camera!!!] I'm reaching out to attorneys across America for help if anyone would like to take my case uh and help me out here please call and let me know what you can do for me. Help me out.

ML: The families of Stace and Kathie have been very vocal as of late.

DP: Right.

ML: um why would you think they would target you if they think you had nothing to do with either the death or the disappeerance of their loved one?

DP: I dunno. Maybe they are even prompted by the media to say this or do that Yknow I had a meeting with Geraldo Rivera and he was at my kitchen table and he asked me to tell my story and as I am telling my story he says, well, say it like this, say it like this. So everything he said wasn't even my words and he walks outside and says here's a man with a noose tightening around his neck I mean uh

ML: If you were me or if you were the average cicitizen on the street who's read about this or seen it on tv, would you think you're guilty, that you had some involvement?

DP: Based on the media coverage? I'm as gulity as they come [smirks, shakes head]

ML: And yet you still maintain there is no guilt--

DP: No

ML:-- you had no connection to any of these situations

DP: No I think my silence has basically painted me guilty uh in the media

ML: A GJ has been convened in this case um they are starting to question family members of yours, friends of yours. Do you expect to be charged?

DP: I just don't know I think because of the media coverage and the magnitude of this case I believe uh somebody has to do something so and if they don't do anything they will be scrutinized for that.

ML: Do you have anything to present to me that might prove your innocence?

DP [thinks] No. I don't know what to tell you. Just let the case unfold as it does.

ML: There are probably a lot of legal experts and laywers out there right now saying this guy whould not be sitting on this show talking to this guy right now while he's the subject of this investigation perhaps even these investigations. Why did you decide to do this interview?

DP: I'm doing all I can my God get the media off my back, get them off my family's back. That's all I'm asking and I am here today in an attempt to basically let them see my face [KB: I left my bandana and my hoodie home.] here I am, please get away from my house and leave my family alone.

ML: Do you think this interview will accomplish that? Or do you think that in some ways it will turn up the heat?

DP: I'm praying that it does.

DP: Or if it turns up the heat then I made a mistake coming here.

ML: You know the law, Mr Peterson. You know that if somehow you are deemed to be involved in the death of KS and the disappearance and perhaps the death of S, you face life in prison or the potential of the death penalty.

NL: Have you thought about it?

DP: Yes. and it's a frightening thing but my family's provided for. My kids would be okay. They're with my brother and SIL and my son and uh I can go in peace if that happens.

[KB: It wouldn't bother you, an innocent man, to endure such an injustice??]

ML: And if you can tell the people watching today on thing about you that they clearly don't know and don't understand, what would that be?

DP: What they are seeing is not me. I've been a jokester all my life and now that they are seeing this serious uh person in deep trouble this isn't me.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m. in downtown Joliet, Steve Carcerano, 39—the neighbor who discovered the body of Peterson's ex-wife Kathleen Savio in her bathtub in 2004—walked into the Will County Court annex where the grand jury was convened. When he left hours later, Carcerano said he did not testify but expected to return next week. Also summoned to the grand jury was Bolingbrook Police Officer Alex Morelli, whom sources describe as a close friend of Drew Peterson. A person by that name signed as a witness to the 1997 will of Savio and Peterson.

Morelli declined to comment on whether he testified. Later, he could not be reached for comment on whether it was he who signed the will.

Peterson returned to Chicagoland as more people are coming forward sharing stories of meeting his missing wife, Stacy, saying they noticed at times she was fearful of her husband.

Social worker John Lamantia recalled meeting Stacy in April. He said she struck his car in a coffee shop parking lot, and was so concerned her husband would be upset, she urged him to let her fix the car without contacting an insurance company.

Lamantia said Stacy Peterson was distraught about her marriage and revealed her husband had physically threatened her that day.

Calling it a difficult decision, a five-member board ruled Thursday to grant former police Sgt. Drew Peterson his almost $6,000-a-month pension, days after he resigned from the Bolingbrook Police Department.

As CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot reports, the chief refused to accept Peterson's resignation saying he wants the former sergeant to be part of an internal investigation. Meantime, Peterson will immediately start receiving $6,000 a month for the rest of his life.

I cannot get enough Drew Peterson. I wish he hadn’t “lawyered up,” but it’s all still very good. On Monday afternoon I saw a picture of Drew posing on his back deck for People Magazine. It looked like they were making a movie back there. There were light reflectors, umbrellas, and I half way expected him to whip off his shirt and start posing. I hope they at least got a shot of Drew Peterson, the Parrothead. I’d like to have that blown up into a poster. If it weren’t for the fact that his little cutie-pie wife is missing, I might even suggest Drew for his own late night talk show or prime time comedy series. At least an HBO comedy special...

A neighbor of Drew Peterson told police he spotted the former Bolingbrook police sergeant and a second man loading a large blue barrel into Peterson's sport utility vehicle hours after his young wife was last seen alive, sources said.

Family and friends of Stacy Peterson are scaling back on volunteer searches during the week and will resume Saturday, a family spokeswoman said Sunday.

While volunteers will hold off until the weekend, the Illinois State Police will continue searching for the missing 23-year-old during the week, said Pam Bosco, a family friend. The FBI is expected to join the search for the Bolingbrook mother of two early this week, opening the possibility of "technical assistance of the U.S. Navy" if needed, officials said Friday.
